Both Butterflies and Pandas Can Worry Over First Dates

Summary:

Nahyuta was panicking over his first official date with Simon.

Notes:

Work Text:

Diner.

That was the word that was freaking Nahyuta out. He and Simon were going to have diner together. That was part of a relationship.

Relationship.

That was another word that was freaking him out. He and Simon were in a relationship. They were together.

Together.

Why were so many words scaring him all of a sudden? He wasn't yesterday. Maybe it was because this date meant that they were tied together from now on; they would be what Nahyuta considered official.

Official.

They would be an official couple after tonight. That scared Nahyuta more than he wanted to admit.

Admit.

Admitting things was hard for Nahyuta. He had always kept things inside and went he and Simon had started dating, Simon didn't like that. Simon didn't want him to hide and repress his feelings. They both knew the dangers of doing that.

Dangers.

Nahyuta knew that there were so many dangers in the world. One of those was their first date together ending horribly.

Horribly.

Nahyuta expected the date to go horribly. He prepared for it.

Prepared.

He was prepared emotionally for the date, but not physically.

Physically.

He was not physically ready. He was still in his pajamas. He couldn't decide what to wear. There were too many options.

Options.

Nahyuta hated options. He liked having things laid out perfectly with orders in a list. He decided on what he wore every day. He knew that wouldn't impress, but he was running out of time to get ready.

Time.

He looked at the clock.

He was out of it.

There was a knock at the door.

He was out of time.

Simon was already there.

Nahyuta rushed to the door and opened it, he couldn't help but laugh. Simon had a literal bird nest, or two, in his hair. He didn't even realize that he wasn't scared or even nervous anymore. "What happened to you?"

Simon laughed. "I could say the same to you."

Nahyuta fell silent as he realized he had only half-buttoned his shirt, and his scarf was partly hanging on his head. He started to laugh again. "I just started to get ready."

Simon laughed. "Me too. I was too worried about the date to get ready."

Nahyuta smiled. "Same, panda. I kept thinking of all the bad things that could have happened."

Simon tried to hug him but ended up getting a mouthful of Nahyuta's scarf. "Yuta, your scarf is trying to kill me."

Nahyuta laughed. "I would consider that a kiss."

Simon smiled. What were they ever worried about? Things could never go badly when it was just them.
