William sighed into his red woolly scarf, causing his breath to be seen from the cold. William was sitting at a wooden bench at the bus stop, waiting for his ride to come. Ruby eyes watched as cars and other vehicles rushed by him, while he was trying to warm up and not freeze to death. William snuggled deep into his scarf and thick, warm coat. He had been sitting here for five minutes, not a long time, but it still was enough for his teeth to chatter and his hands to shiver slightly.
Maybe I should just call Louis or Albert to pick me up, or perhaps an Uber…
Just after William thought of this, the blond looked to his right, just in time to see a raven haired man walk straight into a street sign and fall on his ass.
“Fuck! Shit!” He heard the man curse loudly, William winced.
William then continued to see the man struggle to get up without slipping because of the ice for a few more seconds, and out of concern and sheer boredom, he decided to go help the poor bloke.
The dark haired man looked up from where he sat pitifully as William approached him, hand held out.
“Hello there, sir. It seems like you need some help here.” William smiled.
The other man on the floor eyed William’s face and hand cautiously, before mumbling a small ‘thanks’ and taking William’s hand, expression looking defeated.
As William smiled and went back to sit on the bench, he was surprised to find the man following him.
“Is there something else you need, sir?” William smiled bemusedly at the other man.
“Nah, I was just going to wait for the bus too. Though I bumped into a street sign before I could even get to the bus stop.” The man joked with a cheeky smile.
William hid a chuckle at that, “Yes, you should be more careful with street signs.” William joked.
“Oi,” the man replied, putting on a fake offended expression “well at least I ain’t the one who, who uh-“ The man stuttered there, clearly floundering while searching for a comeback to make.
William raised a condescending eyebrow, “Hm? What?”
The man immediately gave up. At least he knows when to give in, William thought.
William watched with growing amusement as the other man huffed, crossed his arms, and moved his head away from him, pouting in defeat like a child who lost an argument. “W-Well, I’m surely not the only one who bumps into a street sign and falls flat on their arse…” William almost smiled at the childish expression, this guy was kind of cute.
Suddenly, a revelation popped up in William’s mind, “Ah, please pardon me sir, but it seems that I haven’t introduced myself. My name is William, William James Moriarty. Yours?”
The other man blinked confusedly, now fully looking at him. “Ohhhh,” he then said, smirking. “I’m Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes. Nice to meet ‘cha, Liam!”
The man, Sherlock, then winked at him.
William blinked at Sherlock, stunned. Before he quickly composed himself, putting on a playful demeanour.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Sherlock.” After a short moment, William looked Sherlock up and down, scanning him, “I’m sure you make a fine detective.” William watched in glee as Sherlock’s expressions changed in an instant, going from confused, to baffled, to excited, and to complete and utter joy. But to William’s immense surprise, the raven haired man remained composed, though his blue eyes gleamed in the light.
“Well, I’m sure that you make an equally fine math professor at Durham University.” Sherlock smirked, “Though you’re quite young for a professor I must say that. We are the same age, are we not?” Sherlock then questioned, though it was more a statement than anything else.
Sherlock grinned cockily at William, the blond smirking back now. Blue and red orbs clashed.
“Oh, and it’s a consulting detective, my dear Liam.” Sherlock winked. William grinned at the man.
“Well that was obvious, Sherlock.”
William once again hid an adoring smile as Sherlock cackled in excitement and jumped up and down lightly in glee, showing the child like excitement that made William want to smile fondly.
It seemed like they were going to get along spectacularly.
“By the way, Liam.” Sherlock asked once he started to calm down. William tilted his head, “Yes?” The blond asked the raven haired man.
“Can I have your number?”
Ah yes, they were going to get along splendidly.
