Christmas for Bad Ass Temple was a chore every year. With the days leading up to the festive holiday, Kuko and Jyushi dragged Hitoya along into their plans, and this year was no different. There were a few knocks on the door, and when Hitoya opened it, he found Kuko and Jyushi with…a creature …
“Hitoya-san, merry Christmas!” Jyushi’s ugly Christmas sweater that had red and green light bulbs and also made noise twinkled and started singing “ We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas…! ”
Kuko huffed and started to pet the small animal. “This is Janis, the new mascot of Bad Ass Temple. Jyushi thought that we should get a dog for Christmas, we got Janis.” Janis then proceeded to bite Kuko’s hand. “Janis! Bad dog!”
Hitoya was too stunned to speak. Kuko and Jyushi did some insane stuff during Christmas, yet getting a dog without his permission? “What made you two think it was okay to get a dog for Christmas?! Don’t you know how much responsibility dogs are?! Did you even get her food, a leash, a collar…?!”
“Well, duh, you dumbass lawyer,” Kuko replied. “We’re not that incompetent.”
“Don’t ‘duh’ me, Kuko!” Hitoya sighed, and looked Janis in the eyes. “Put her back in the shelter.” To this statement, Jyushi started to wail, and Kuko protested. To this, Hitoya responded with “Dogs are a lot of work, and I don’t think we are ready for that.” Jyushi, along with Kuko, slammed the door in Hitoya’s face, yet Janis stayed behind.
Studying her more closely, Hitoya found Janis somewhat cute. A small chihuahua that could easily fit in his arms, with big eyes and a tiny nose. If it were to make his division happy, he would train and take care of this puppy all by himself. He remembered when he and his late younger brother had a puppy, yet it died at only 1 year old due to being hit by a car. Though he had trauma regarding pets, he secretly wanted to own another dog and take care of it. It wasn’t going to be easy, but he would let Bad Ass Temple keep Janis.
