Work Text:
A werewolf pack pendant.
A piece of gold jewelry which signifies the belonging into a werewolf pack.
Each pendant is different, according to which pack it belongs to.
But no matter the rank, the age, the gender- if the wolf is in pack they will have a pendant.
So why does Jungkook- a vampire have one?
That's the question that’s been repeating itself inside Taehyung’s mind. He mindlessly traces the gold piece of metal with his forefinger, smoothing over the shallow ridges and rubbing over the coolness of the chain.
It’s not a pendant he’s seen before, so he doesn’t know which pack it belongs to, but it’s definitely a pack pendant.
As different as every pendant is, they all have a similarity. That being the amethyst gem that’s engraved on the front of the piece.
As Taehyung racks his memory for any kind of familiarity to which pack it could belong to, he questions if it even belongs to the vampire.
Who knows, it could have been dropped by someone that was in the bathroom before them, but then again, if it did belong to another wolf he probably would have recognized the pack immediately. But why would Jungkook have one anyways, he’s a vampire.
He’ll just have to ask the younger about it when he gets the chance.
As he continues to examine the metal, his ringtone stops his mind from spiraling into another frenzy of questions.
He sets the pendant on his desk and makes his way over to his bed where his phone lays. Lying on his stomach, he reads the contact before answering the call.
“Yoongi Hyung?” he asks into his device.
“Tae, when are you coming down to the common room? Everyone's waiting for you.”
“What? I thought we all agreed we’re starting later.” Taehyung questions, sliding his finger down his screen to check the time, and what he sees makes his eyes widen.
How has it already been 2 hours?
“Later was one hour ago.” Yoongi responds, his tone giving away he’s clearly unamused.
“Oh.”
“Yeah oh, now get down here quickly. Seokjin hyung won’t stop pestering me about how I'm ‘putting too many ornaments in the same spot.’” Yoongi mocks in a voice he imagines is supposed to resemble his hyung, but really sounds like a whiny child. “That demon.” He tsks.
Taehyung can’t help but laugh at that, getting up from his bed and putting his shoes on.
“Yeah okay, i’ll be there in a minute”
“Hurry up you-“ Yoongi starts, but Taehyung cuts the line off before the elder can finish his sentence.
He tosses his phone on the bed and makes his way back to the desk, grabbing his black hoodie off the chair and slipping it on over his head, tousling his hair in the process.
He’s about to exit his dorm room when his eyes catch sight of the gold metal glimmering under the small lamp on his desk. He sighs and walks towards it, pocketing it into his hoodie and finally walking out the door.
Maybe he’ll see Jungkook today.
“Jungkook, I need your help over here!” Jimin yells, motioning for the younger to join him.
The vampire sighs, putting down the wreath he was working on and walking over to the giant christmas tree in the middle of the room which Jimin and a few others are decorating.
“What do you need help with?” Jungkook questions, watching as the other vampire holds two ornaments in his hands, one red and one gold. He lifts both ornaments to the tree “which one do you think looks better here?” the elder asks.
Jungkook thinks for a moment before deciding on gold. A few seconds go by of the two of them hanging decorations on the tree before Jimin clears his throat.
“So, does Taehyung taste good?”
Jungkook freezes and splutters, choking on his spit. He doubles over coughing, earning quite a bit of concerned stares from the people around him and Jimin is quick to comfort him, crouching down to pat his back- stifling his laughs.
He doesn’t look up, but he can hear the rushed footsteps heading towards the two of them as he continues to cough, and then he’s being handed a glass of water.
“Are you okay?” a voice asks.
He looks up to be met with a concerned stare from Kim Namjoon, his eyebrows furrowed as he holds out the glass of water- which the younger gladly accepts and takes big sips until it’s gone. “Yeah, thank you, Hyung.” he utters, handing the glass cup back to the elder.
“Just be careful next time, okay?” the elder states, beginning to walk backwards, “also, the tree looks great!” he smiles before turning around and heading back to the fireplace where he’s hanging decorative stockings.
Jungkook stands in deafening silence, his face burning red in embarrassment as he glares daggers into Jimin’s side profile. The elder slowly turns to him, clearly holding in his laughter which further irritates him.
“You little dwarf, you can’t just say that!” he exclaims while pinching and tugging on his ear.
“Ow! Ow! Okay stop!” the elder struggles, elbowing Jungkook softly in the face. Jungkook scowls, pout evident on his face as he lets go of the elders now red ear. “Say you’re sorry.” he demands, trying his best to look intimidating, but it all crumbles when the elder just laughs and continues where he left off decorating the tree.
“Sorry, What I meant was, does his blood taste good?” the elder clarifies, and Jungkook is mortified.
“Oh my god shut up!” Jungkook whisper yells, hitting Jimin with a bit too much force, making him sway on his feet.
“Oh come on,” Jimin starts, handing another box of ornaments to the younger. “Hobi and I both saw you two sucking each other’s faces. Enemies my ass .” he sighs, emphasizing on his last sentence.
Jungkook’s eyes widen, and he quickly drops the ornament to replace it with Jimin’s hand, which he uses to drag them both into an empty corridor.
After stomping over to the empty space, Jungkook pushes the older vampire into the wall. To anyone else it would look like a heated fight is about to go down, but they both know the younger couldn't hurt Jimin even if he tried.
“We did not make out!” the younger vampire huffs out. His cheeks are a bright red and Jimin can’t tell if it’s from frustration or because he’s embarrassed.
“Koo, you don’t have to lie.” Jimin teases, sending the younger into more of a jumbled mess. Jungkook stomps his foot, an effort to look intimidating, but really he just looks like a cute rabbit.
“I already told you what happened minie! he just helped me out.” Jungkook explains, flailing his arms around in distress.
The older vampire laughs, pulling the younger into a hug. “I know I know, I was just teasing you.” he tsks while stroking the younger’s hair. “You suck.” the younger mumbles into Jimin’s shoulder.
“No, that's clearly you.” he responds, and Jungkook gasps, pulling back to jab another hit at the olders shoulder. “Oh, you bitch!” he shouts, but Jimin just laughs.
Jungkook attempts to leave his embrace and walk back to the others, but Jimin pulls him by his wrist to stop him from going any further. The elders’ laughing stops as he looks at him with a curious gaze.
“Seriously though koo, was you feeding from him just a one time thing or are you planning on doing it regularly?” Jimin asks, genuinely curious.
The younger stops his rampage to think about what the elder has implied.
Would he feed from Taehyung again?
Well it was the best blood he’s ever tasted, or maybe that’s just because he was extra hungry.
But the werewolf was kind with him, something he never sees from the elder, and he can’t deny he liked it.
His stomach erupts in butterflies thinking about the past events and he can’t help but look down to hide his obvious spreading blush.
“Well, I would like to do it again.” He admits shyly, but then he frowns. “But I don't think he wants to speak with me.” he admits, a pout beginning to form on his lips.
It’s Jimin’s turn to frown too, a crease forming between his eyebrows. “Why? what happened?” he asks with concern. He lifts his arm to stroke through the younger’s hair, an affectionate gesture to encourage him to continue.
“I um-“ Jungkook stutters, sheepishly rubbing the nape of his neck. “I kind of punched him in the nose. Twice.”
The older vampire’s eyes widen. “You punched him again?!” he asks, pulling away from the younger’s hair and flicking him on the forehead.
Jungkook backs away from the older, arms coming to cover his eyes as he stutters. “I-i didn’t mean to! it was just instinct!”
“Oh my god,” Jimin shakes his head. “You dumbass.” he laughs.
Jungkook groans and hides his burning face in the crook of the olders neck. Jimin let’s him hide for a moment, running a hand up and down his back as he tries to stifle his laughter.
“But you’ll talk to him, right?” Jimin eventually asks.
Jungkook doesn’t remove his head from the olders neck, but continues speaking anyway. “I don’t know, maybe he already forgot about it, it’s been two weeks since i last saw him.” he says, but it comes out muffled.
Jimin tsks and shakes his head, pushing the younger back by his shoulders to look him in the eyes. “Trust me, if a vampire fed from me in an empty classroom I don't think I'd forget about it so easily.” he states, rolling his eyes. “Just talk to him soon, okay?” he adds while smiling genuinely.
“I’ll try.” the younger responds.
“There you are! I've been looking for you for hours!” a familiar voice yells, breaking the moment.
Both vampires turn to look at the intruder, not surprised when it’s none other than Kim Seokjin, the event organizer.
“We’ve only been gone for like three minutes, Hyung.” Jimin speaks as he shakes his head in amusement. The eldest crosses his arms, “ah whatever, same thing.” he says as he walks over to the pair.
Jungkook giggles at his hyung’s silly antics before remembering what he had said before. “You were looking for us?” he asks, tilting his head to the side, a habit he’s picked up recently.
“Just you,” the eldest clarifies, “we need your help.” he finishes.
“Oh?” Jungkook asks, curiously. He raises an eyebrow and ignores his best friends’ scoff from beside him.
“I need you to place the star on the tree.”
When Taehyung arrives down to the common room it’s already mostly decorated.
A dish of candy canes on every table, colorful lights hanging from every wall, stockings hung by the fireplace and a gigantic tree covered in red and gold sat perfectly in the center of the room.
All that’s missing is the star on top.
He continues to walk around the room, greeting some acquaintances and asking around if anyone needs help. Most decline his offer, already starting to pack up the leftover decorations into boxes they won’t use again until next year. Taehyung slumps as he moves to different parts of the room, feeling guilty he couldn’t help and if he’s being honest, because he wanted to join in too.
He catches sight of a lonely half decorated wreath in the corner of the room and his curiosity and interest has him walking towards it.
He sits down beside the object, picking it up and admiring the little pinecones and holly branches placed into the snow dusted circular garland. He looks around in an attempt to find the owner of the abandoned project but doesn’t seem to find anyone looking his way. Most people have left by now, just a few left helping put up the last of the decorations, so maybe he could finish this wreath. It would be a shame to let it go to waste, right?
So that’s what he does.
He takes his time carefully placing in more of the holly branches, adding not too many tiny gold crescent moon pendants and wrapping a gold ribbon up and around the garland before he calls it done.
He smiles proudly at his work as he stands to stretch and watch a tiny black bat carry a gold star to the top of the christmas tree.
Wait what?
“Jungkook, a little bit more to the left!” someone yells from below the tree, instructing the bat to do so. Taehyung watches in amusement as the creature does as the man says, placing the star perfectly on the tree before fluttering back to the ground where a sudden cloud of gray appears.
Then, in the blink of an eye appears the man he hasn’t seen in weeks.
Taehyung watches as the man runs up to his friends, eyes sparkling with mirth as he jumps around in excitement, receiving praises and pats on his back as his laugh resounds through the room, but then suddenly, those sparkling eyes are on Taehyung.
His breath hitches as they continue to stare at each other until the younger boy looks away. Taehyung looks down, wondering what to say, to do.
Should he talk to the boy?
He doesn’t know.
“Um, hi?” a soft voice fills the silence and ends his internal dilemma. Taehyung looks up to be met with those same sparkling doe eyes as before. I guess that answers his question if he’s going to talk to him or not. “Hi, Jungkook.” he responds a bit awkwardly, finding it hard to keep eye contact with the younger.
None of them say anything after that, both refusing to make eye contact as they fiddle with their fingers.
But then suddenly with a tight lipped smile the vampire sits cross legged on the ground with a thump.
Taehyung sends a questioning look towards him, but the younger just picks up the wreath Taehyung had decorated. He takes a seat next to the younger, watching him inspect the wreath with a pout. “Uh, someone just left that there,” he starts, not liking how the younger’s pout deepens even more with his words. “So I finished decorating it.” he finishes, watching how his dull eyes suddenly widen as he twirls the loose ribbon around his finger.
“You finished it?” the younger asks, surprise evident in his tone. Taehyung tilts his head to the side, clearly confused as he nods his head.
“Ah, this was mine.” The younger states, this time Taehyung being the one to widen his eyes. He quickly realizes why the younger was pouting, he ruined his project. His chest stings as he looks down, suddenly feeling guilty. “I’m sorry, I thought someone just left it, I didn't want to leave it unfinished.” he admits, the guilt laced in his tone making the younger whip his head towards him.
“What? No no, it’s okay!” the vampire reassures him, flailing his arms in the space between them but Taehyung can’t help but feel bad. He doesn’t say anything, staring down with a pout, which makes the younger pout as well. “It's cute, I like what you did.” the younger continues, to which Taehyung looks up at.
“Then why,” he starts, scooting closer to the younger and lifting his hand to mindlessly trace his jutted out bottom lip with his thumb, “are you still pouting?” he asks, not registering the close distance between them.
“I-“ the younger’s breath hitches and his face tints pink, and it’s then that Taehyung realizes what he’s doing. “Sorry,” he immediately apologizes and backs up, his own ears going red from embarrassment.
The vampire looks away, hands mindlessly fiddling with the sleeves of his cream colored sweater. “I-It’s fine, um you should take this!” the vampire states a little too enthusiastically, grabbing the wreath they decorated and holding it out to the elder.
Taehyung’s earlier embarrassment dissipates as his expression is replaced with a frown. “But it’s yours, you should take it.” he says, lightly pushing the wreath back to Jungkook.
Jungkook also frowns, “but you decorated it.” he pouts but Taehyung is quick to retort, “ we decorated it.” he clarifies while taking the wreath from the vampire’s hand, but before he can stand up, it’s being taken out of his hand and into someone else’s from above.
Taehyung looks up to see the thief and is not surprised when it turns out to be Jimin.
“How about,” the older boy starts, walking away and the vampire and werewolf have no choice but to follow him, “you hang it here instead of arguing who gets to take it.” he proposes with an annoyed tone, gesturing to the front doors of the common room.
Taehyung can see the younger boy in his peripheral vision nod his head, so he shrugs and nods along.
They Both watch as the eldest of them hangs their decorated wreath onto one of the large double doors. Then, the eldest twirls around and marches back up to them with his arms crossed over his chest.
“You too are annoyingly whipped, why can’t you go back to hating each other.” he exasperates with a sigh.
“What? But I do hate him!” Jungkook says, shock evident in his tone and wide eyes. Taehyung ignores his slightly stinging chest and takes notice of the rising pink in the younger’s cheeks. “You do?” he asks, to which the younger whips his head towards him.
He watches as the vampire fiddles with his fingers while seemingly trying to find his words, red fully displayed on his round cheeks.
“I-i mean, do you?” the younger asks instead.
Taehyung thinks for a moment,
He should,
But he doesn’t.
Not at all.
Doesn’t see how he could hate him anymore.
All he can see now is affection.
“No. i don’t.” he answers easily.
“Oh.” is what the younger responds, clearly rethinking his words. “Um, I-“ he stops speaking, scratching the nape of his neck before tilting his head to the side, making eye contact with the ground. “I don’t think I hate you?” he eventually admits, but it sounds like he’s questioning it himself.
“Okay gross.” a voice Taehyung forgot was there adrupts. “Enough with that talk please, I don't want to listen to lovey dovey stuff. Yuck.” he enunciates with his tongue sticking out, like he’s physically ill.
The younger vampire’s eyes go even wider than they already are, and a scowl forms on his face.
“Oh you dwarf! Shut up-“
“Nope, no talking. It’s my turn to talk.” the elder vampire immediately cuts in and the younger just rolls his eyes and huffs, very cutely if you ask Taehyung.
Taehyung watches as the eldest now turns to him, a sly smirk growing on his face. “So, Kim, are you coming to Minhyuk’s party this weekend?”
Ah right,
Minhyuk’s yearly christmas party.
Basically everyone from the university goes, so it’d be a shame to miss it, but to be honest, he’d completely forgotten about it until now.
And if he’s being honest with himself, he doesn’t really see the fun in going this year. He doesn’t see the appeal in dancing to overplayed radio music or getting shitfaced drunk to the point he won’t remember a thing the next day. He would much rather spend his holiday in the warmth of the dormitory, glass of hot cocoa in hand as the sound of light christmas classics flutters through the air.
But he’ll think about it.
Maybe the party would be fun anyways.
“To be honest, i wasn’t planning on it, no.” he responds to the elders question.
Immediately he can see the frown adorning the elders face, arms crossing as he tilts his head to the side.
“Aw, what a shame,” the elder vampire starts, something mischievous hidden in his voice. “Me and Jungkookie here will be going, you should come!”
The said vampire turns to the elder, hitting him on the shoulder while sending him a knowing glare, the elder just brushes him off.
“Oh?” Taehyung raises an eyebrow, knowing what the elder is trying to imply. “Maybe i’ll think about it then.” he states, watching and internally laughing at how the younger vampire’s mouth goes agape.
“Great! and also,” the elder begins, walking backwards towards the stairs that lead up to the rooms. “Bring that friend of yours with you, Yoongi-ssi.”
Taehyung snorts at that, but nods anyway.
Everyone knows about Jimin’s crush on his best friend, but they also know how the latter doesn’t give him the time of day.
A little roadblock or two won’t stop Park Jimin, though.
“Will do, Park.” he says, watching as the elder walks up the stairs and out of sight, leaving him with just Jungkook.
The two of them make eye contact for a few seconds before the younger looks away and turns around without a word. Taehyung watches wordlessly as he begins to walk in the same direction that the other vampire had just gone.
He sighs as he turns around as well, giving up talking to the younger for now, he curses at the way his fluffy ears threaten to droop down. He makes his way back over to where he was previously sitting with his wreath, deciding to clean up the mess he had made. But before he can make it to his destination, he feels a tap on his shoulder and he turns around to be faced with the same vampire as before.
“Jungkook?” he questions, looking directly into those coffee colored eyes.
The said boy looks determined, and for a second Taehyung thinks he did something to make the other mad, but then the words that come from the younger’s mouth makes his eyes soften.
“We’re- we’re cool right? Like, we’ll still talk after this?” the boy questions, suddenly looking a lot less intimidating and a lot more fragile.
Taehyung smiles softly, reassurance embedded into his expression, “Of course, Jungkook.” he says and watches as a wave of relief flashes over the younger’s eyes.
“Okay, cool.” the younger says with a tight lipped smile, rocking back and forth on his heels while avoiding the elder’s eyes. Taehyung thinks he’s about to walk away again until he quickly lifts his pointer finger in front of their chests, determination filled in his doe eyes.
“Don’t feel pressured to go to the party, okay? Jimin’s just a little.. pushy sometimes.” the vampire says, pushing his jutted out finger into Taehyung’s chest.
Taehyung laughs lightly, amused by the red puffy cheeks of the younger, and the way his eyes shine with something Taehyung can’t quite point out.
Something he definitely wouldn’t have seen three weeks ago.
He reaches his hand up to ruffle the younger’s hair, watching his doe eyes grow wider with the action. He threads his fingers through the soft blonde locks and lightly scratches at his scalp with a soft smile before pulling his hand away.
“Don’t worry about it, I'll think about it, hm?” he says with fond eyes and a gentle voice.
The younger stares at him for a long moment, seemingly lost in thought- or in the elders beauty, but he’d never know that- until he finally nods his head. “O-okay.” the younger says softly before backing up a bit. “I’ll see you around then?“ he asks once again.
“You will.” Taehyung confirms.
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
“Bye.”
“Bye Jungkook.” the elder laughs fondly as the vampire walks backwards into the christmas tree, yelling out a “sorry!” before running up the stairs.
‘Cute’ Taehyung thinks with a smile on his face.
And soon they do meet again.
Over the past week the duo has been running into each other almost everyday, it may not be able to be called a coincidence anymore.
They have been hanging out daily, walking eachother to classes and even going as far as hanging out outside of university grounds.
The younger has been opening up to Taehyung a lot recently, but there’s still one thing that he’s been meaning to ask.
‘Why does he have a werewolf pendant?’
That also means he hasn’t brought the topic up to the younger yet. Everytime he remembers the gold piece of jewelry it’s always after the two part. Every Time he’s with the younger all he can focus on is him.
But soon, he promised to himself.
Soon he will talk to him about it.
Soon.
A sudden ‘plat’ sound has him flinching in his bed. He looks over towards where the sound came from but sees nothing but his normal room. He stands up to hopefully find the cause of the sound, but as soon as he gets up, a white object flies right into his face.
It’s cold and it sends him straight to his hardwood floor.
Snowballs.
He groans and reaches his hand up to wipe the chilly white snow off his face, but as soon as he accomplishes his task, two more of the round objects fly next to him, one landing on his chest.
Frustrated, he stands and aggressively swats the powdery snow off his body, and walks towards his open window. He searches the ground below for the attacker but sees no one but another flying snowball straight towards his face. He has no time before the chilly object flies right into his face, he groans again and is about to slam his window shut but an urgent voice stops him from doing so.
“Taehyung!” the voice yells from below.
Taehyung knows that voice, he knows who the voice belongs to.
He looks down and locks eyes with Jungkook, surrounded by lumps of snow and dropping the pile of ready-to-go snowballs he has in hand. His eyes widen and a little ‘oh’ shape forms on his pink lips before he sheepishly smiles.
Before Taehyung can ask what the hell he's doing, a grey cloud of smoke erupts and in the place Jungkook was standing is now a little black bat.
He allows the younger to enter through his window, standing aside and letting him retake his human form once he makes it safely inside.
That sheepish smile is still plastered on his face as he looks down at the mess of snow he made on the floor, slightly kicking it away and moving to stand in front of the elder.
“Um, I didn't know your window was open.. oops?” he says with a shrug, nose tinted red from the cold.
Taehyung stands in silence, glaring at the younger who has the audacity to snort at him, which turns into fully laughing in his face.
Taehyung watches as he doubles over laughing onto his knees, but his laughs turn to groans as he lands in the pile of snow.
It’s Taehyung’s turn to laugh as he watches the younger grimace struggling to get up from the melting ice. He ends up giving him a helping hand but is surprised when he gets pulled down with the younger instead.
He gasps and grabs a handful of snow and launches it directly in the younger face, feeling satisfied with the way the vampire rubs the ice from his eyes.
“Dude, now i’m cold!” the younger whines, his bottom lip jutted out into a pout.
Taehyung rolls his eyes, still shoveling snow onto the vampire’s already wet knees. “Do vampires’ even get cold?” he asks, slightly curious but mostly teasing.
“Well, yes.. but not easily,” he frowns, “so that means i’m really fucking cold right now.” he admits, slight urgency and annoyance in his voice.
Taehyung snorts, but stands up and offers a hand to the younger- which the latter puts to good use this time and allows Taehyung to help him up from the ground.
“Okay fine, sorry.” he apologizes, but still has that teasing smile on his face. He guides the younger over to his bed and instructs him to sit down as he grabs some spare clothes from the wardrobe.
He grabs the younger a pair of black sweatpants much like his own, and some warm white socks, grabbing some extra pairs for himself. He also grabs a few hand towels and places them onto the melting snow, absorbing the liquid.
He returns to the bed and sets the items down next to the vampire, who sends a questioning look his way.
“Will these work?” Taehyung asks, gesturing to the clothing items.
Jungkook picks up the sweatpants and raises an eyebrow, “for me?” he asks.
“Yeah, you said you’re cold,” Taehyung responds, walking up to the younger and handing him the socks as well, “change into these, your clothes are all wet.”
Jungkook grabs the pair of socks from the elder’s hand and says a quick thank you before shoo-ing Taehyung away with the motion of his hand.
Taehyung snorts and turns away, deciding to change into his own set of clothes.
By the time he’s finished, he assumes the younger is as well, so he turns around to be met with big doe eyes peeking out from a pile of blankets, black stomper boots messily placed beside the bed. The younger has buried himself in all of Taehyung’s blankets that had previously been neatly placed on his bed, but he can’t find it in himself to be mad at the vampire’s cute antics.
He decides to take a seat next the the younger on the bed, causing the pile of blankets to shift, making the younger whine.
Taehyung laughs lightly, trying to retrieve a blanket from the pile but doesn’t succeed as the younger aggressively yanks it back.
“Geez, are you still cold?” he asks and watches as the younger tilts his head to the side, his puffy cheeks and red nose clearly visible even in the darkening lighting from the evening.
“Give me a few minutes.” the younger says completely serious.
Taehyung sighs and decides to lay down on his back, staring up at his plain ceiling and pulling his hoodie sleeves over his hands as a blanket burrito sits next to him.
He closes his eyes for a moment taking in the calm atmosphere, and when he opens them he’s surprised to see the younger’s doe eyes so close to his own.
The vampire is slightly leaned over Taehyung as he inspects him, a small smile adorning his face.
“What-“
“You have snow on your ears, let me-“ Jungkook begins, but cuts off himself as the elder sits up, forcing him to move back. “L-let me get it.” he finishes and Taehyung’s heart rate picks up as the vampire’s gentle fingers carefully brush away the melting snow from his fluffy ears.
Jungkook smiles shyly and Taehyung can see the way his ears tint red, maybe from the cold? But it makes his heart flutter anyway.
“Thank you.” he says appreciatively, not caring about the little space that’s separating them.
“You’re welcome.” the younger responds, barely above a whisper.
Taehyung finds himself admiring the vampire’s features up close, mindlessly leaning in closer to his face.
“I’m not cold anymore.” the younger admits softly, playing with the strings of Taehyung’s hoodie.
“Yeah?” Taehyung responds, finding himself slightly smirking while leaning forwards by another inch, eyes trained on the younger’s lips.
“Yeah.” Jungkook repeats. Taehyung can see the way his breath hitches as he caresses the younger’s cheekbones with his thumb, all while maintaining eye contact.
Just as he’s about to lean in, Jungkook’s eyes light up.
“Let’s go out in the snow.”
Taehyung freezes in his place, taken aback by the sudden proposal and removes his hand from the younger’s face entirely.
“Jungkook, what? it’s already dark outside.” he retorts, flabbergasted when the vampire rolls his eyes.
“So?” the vampire responds, starting to remove the blankets from his body. “That means no one will be out, which means more snow for us.” he says like it’s the most obvious thing in the entire world.
“Oh my god.” Taehyung watches as the vampire grabs his black stompers by the edge of the bed and pulls them back onto his feet before standing up and making his way back to Taehyung’s window.
“Oh, you were serious?” he asks to which the vampire scoffs at.
“Of course, come on.” the vampire responds, one leg already out the window as a grey cloud of smoke fills his place.
“Where are you going? Jungkook, I can't jump from the window!”
So that’s how Taehyung finds himself once again covered in snow, hiding behind a tree in the forest behind the university as Jungkook attempts to find him, then jumping out and tackling the younger with snowballs and getting the both of them even more cold and soaked with snow.
Sweet giggles and doe eyes reflecting the sparkling snow is what’s embedded into Taehyung’s brain after the two of them had a long session of snowball fights and building snowmen.
And now after passing the line of cold to freezing, they’re finally huddled on the carpet in the common room, next to the fireplace with woven blankets and cups of hot cocoa as neither of them can stop shivering.
the younger insisted on getting two blankets- one for each of them, but currently Taehyung is thinking about sharing both between the two of them.
“I’m fucking freezing, Jungkook. Why did we do that?” Taehyung asks, but it sounds more like he’s asking the question to himself.
Jungkook scoots closer towards the elders warmth and wraps his blanket tighter around his body. “Bad idea.” he states and Taehyung nods in agreement.
Very bad.
Taehyung reaches an arm out of his blanket cocoon to grab his mug of cocoa, and scoots so close to the fire, any closer he would become the fire.
As he sips on his drink, the younger scoots up to sit beside him and rests his head on the elders shoulder. Taehyung doesn’t think much of it as he returns the gesture, rests his head on top of the younger’s while setting his mug on the ground beside him, and wrapping his blanket around the two of them with his arm around the younger’s waist.
Taehyung stares into the crackling fire, absorbing its warmth when the younger lets out a loud yawn, smooshing his cheek into his shoulder.
“You tired?” Taehyung asks, starting to feel the long day catch up to him himself.
The younger hums, shifting in his spot to lean more on his side, onto the elder. “A bit.” he admits with a sleepy voice.
‘ Cute ’ Taehyung thinks to himself.
He’s starting to understand what it implies when he thinks about the younger like that, but he accepts it.
He’s long past his hatred stage towards the vampire and just wants to enjoy their new relationship, whatever it may be.
And whatever it is, he enjoys it a lot. He wouldn’t even be upset if it progressed even further, whatever that means.
He’ll figure it out some other time, because right now his focus is on the dainty gold bracelet adorning the younger’s wrist as his hoodie sleeve bunches up and he sips from his mug.
That’s when he’s reminded of the gold jewelry piece that’s resting on his desk in his dorm room, the piece that he’s supposed to ask the boy that’s beside him about.
He decides this is a good time to talk about it.
“Jungkook.” he says, watching the said boy flinch a little at his sudden voice. The younger hums, so Taehyung continues.
“Have you um.. lost a necklace recently?” he decides to ask, making sure it actually belongs to the younger first.
He can feel how the younger tenses next to him, and he feels slightly uneasy because of it.
“Actually.. yeah, why do you ask?” he asks, and Taehyung feels his heartbeat pick up because that confirms that it really does belong to the younger.
But why does it?
“You dropped it on the bathroom floor a few weeks ago so I picked it up, but I've just forgotten to give it back to you.” he admits and watches the way the younger sags in relief.
“Oh thank god,” he rests his head in the elders lap, his soft blonde locks peeking out from his blanket, which Taehyung gladly plays with. “I thought I lost it, my aunt would’ve killed me.”
Taehyung raises an eyebrow, because from what he remembers, Jungkook’s aunt is also a vampire?
“Your aunt?” he asks, but doesn’t want to push his limits so he adds, “if it’s too personal you don’t have to talk about.” but the younger quickly shakes his head.
“It’s fine, I trust you.” he says, and Taehyung ignores the butterflies in his stomach and focuses on what the other has to say.
“Hobi hyung and Jimin hyung are the only people that know and, i’m guessing you know what the necklace is.”
Taehyung looks down at his own necklace, “I do.” he says quietly, carding his fingers through the vampire's blonde locks.
The younger yawns before continuing, “Well..after my parents passed when I was sixteen, my aunt Yeona started to raise me as her own. We were living with our coven for a while, but around the time i was eighteen she met this man, and soon after, they started dating, now he’s my uncle Junseo. We were kicked out of the coven after they had found out about my aunt and uncle.. because my uncles a werewolf, and you know what people think about a vampire and werewolf together..” he explains quite sadly, and yes, Taehyung knows exactly what they think, and his heart hurts because of it.
Taehyung hums, letting the younger know he’s listening and he can continue. “I don’t blame my aunt for anything, there’s nothing she could do about it and I'm happy with the way things turned out. Anyways, after we were kicked out we spent a lot of time with my uncle’s pack, so eventually they thought of us as their own, and so they gave both me and my aunt pendants. I guess werewolves are more accepting than vampires in that sense.” Jungkook explains, voice sounding more and more raspy from the tiredness he’s feeling as he goes on, like he could fall asleep any second.
Taehyung stares into the fire, a lot of thoughts rushing through his mind, but the mystery that’s been on his mind for weeks has finally been answered.
And it makes sense.
Taehyung watches as Jungkook yawns, shifting his head around in his lap, Taehyung never stopping his hand that’s massaging through his hair.
‘Do you live with your uncle now?’ Taehyung wants to ask and continue the conversation, but as the vampire turns towards him, his eyes are already peacefully shut.
So he opts for, “you’re so strong,” with a lazily placed lingering kiss to his forehead instead.
As his own eyes threaten to close too, he catches a glimpse of the younger’s form before a grey cloud of smoke erupts, and all that’s left is a little bat peacefully snuggling into his knee.
His heart about explodes at the sight, and the fact that the younger trusts him enough to be his other, smaller form around him.
He gently traces his forefinger along the tiny creature’s wings with a grin high on his face. Then, he decides if the younger can transform into his other form, so can he.
So he does.
In the blink of an eye, what used to be two human forms huddled together searching for warmth is now replaced with two creatures, one a pocket-sized black bat and the other a large wolf whose black fur shines under the light of the crackling fire. The bat is nestled into the wolf’s embrace, while the wolf allows the tinier creature to use his fluffy arm as a pillow.
And soon, they’re both sleeping peacefully till morning.
The next day during the afternoon, Jungkook receives a string of texts while he’s busy picking out an outfit for Minhyuk’s party the next day.
He doesn’t hear the first ping, but the second one he does, and he quickly sets down the two pairs of jeans he was comparing to see what one would look better with his black turtleneck, paired with a black and white houndstooth patterned jacket he had picked out.
He picks up his phone and tilts his head in confusion.
Kim Taehyung:
hey..
this is yoongi
Jeon Jungkook:

Kim Taehyung:

Jeon Jungkook:

Kim Taehyung:

Jeon Jungkook:

Kim Taehyung:

Jeon Jungkook:
i will :)
When Taehyung awakes next, it’s with a cold rag on his forehead and a sleeping body occupying the desk chair next to him.
He immediately recognizes the mess of blonde hair sprawled out on his bed and his heart melts a little knowing that the younger came.
“Jungkook?” he asks and watches how the boy immediately sits up with wide eyes.
“How are you feeling?” the vampire asks while checking his temperature with the back of his hand on his forehead and neck.
“I’m fine.” Taehyung responds.
“You don’t feel fine.” the younger frowns, slumping back in his chair.
Taehyung smiles sheepishly, watching as the younger juts out his bottom lip into a pout. “I’m fine, promise.” he reassures while grabbing the younger’s hand, smoothing his thumb over his knuckles.
What Taehyung doesn’t expect is for the vampire to abruptly remove his hand from Taehyung’s own, instead reaching into a paper shopping back Taehyung didn't notice was there until now, and pull out a woven lump of fabric.
Jungkook quite literally throws the object in the elders face with a huff, obviously upset about something.
“Here,” he says, and Taehyung grabs the object from his face to observe it.
It’s a large black beanie, big enough to cover his ears.
“Next time you go out, I better see you wearing this.” he warns, but Taehyung can hear the care in his threat.
Taehyung smiles at the hat, then at Jungkook. “Thank you.” he says appreciatively and the younger rolls his eyes.
“Mhm.” he hums, crossing his arms and standing up. “I’ll go get some soup from the kitchen.” he states and walks out the door before the elder can protest.
The rest of the day goes by like that, Jungkook looking after Taehyung while he stays by his side the entire time, telling stories, having a harry potter movie marathon, and making sure he drinks enough water.
And when it’s time for him to go back to his own room, he slips a little gift on the elders bedside table.
A snowglobe with a gold moon and confetti placed inside.
The next day Jungkook gets ready for the party.
He ended up choosing a black pair of skinny jeans for his outfit and paired it with his stomper boots.
He styled his hair and even did his makeup.
But he just can’t get himself to walk out those large double doors.
Not when he knows Taehyung can’t go.
He slumps down on his bed with a groan, why should it matter if the elder is going or not? he knows why, he’s just choosing to ignore it.
He’s about to start unlacing his boots and give up on even trying to get himself to go, when he hears a new message ping from his phone.
Kim Taehyung:
hey
are you still going to the party?
Jeon Jungkook:
eh
i think im just going to stay home this year
Kim Taehyung:
perfect
Jeon Jungkook:
?
Kim Taehyung:
come downstairs to the common room
Jeon Jungkook:
what?
why?
Kim Taehyung:
just c'mere
Taehyung is already downstairs when the younger arrives. Him along with their small group of friends decided to have their own christmas party in the dormitory, since Taehyung is still slightly sick he couldn’t go out, and he felt bad about not attending with the younger, so he decided to make their own party.
The decorations from when the students decorated a few weeks ago are still up, they’ve just added a few more twinkling lights and made the room more ‘party-like.’
It’s not much, but it’s enough.
As the younger reaches the bottom of the stairs, Taehyung is already waiting for him at the end, watching as his eyes sparkle looking around the room.
“What’s this?” he asks with shy smile on his face as Taehyung takes his hand and begins to lead him to a higher part of the dormitory, one where there’s less chatter and more plain brick walls. Taehyung guides the vampire out to one of the many balconies in the place, adorned with fresh snow on the railings and a chilly breeze.
“You’re wearing the hat.” the younger comments, a small smile on his face as he adjusts the beanie atop of the elders head.
“Well you did tell me to wear it the next time i go out, and we wouldn’t want to make you upset, now would we?” he teases while tilting his head to the side.
The vampire snorts and lightly punches his shoulder. “Are you feeling better?” Jungkook asks him and he nods.
“A lot better than yesterday.” he responds and reaches to pull something out from his pocket.
He reveals the object in his hand, and the younger’s eyes go wide- it’s his pendant.
Without a word, Taehyung takes the younger by the waist and turns him around, his heartbeat picks up it’s pace as he tries not to fumble with his fingers while he brushes away the hair on his nape and secures the necklace around the vampire’s neck. Jungkook doesn’t turn back around when he’s done, so he steps in front of the younger instead and watches as he holds the pendant between his fingers with a small smile. He lets the gold metal slip between his fingers, and when it hits his chest the gem in the center of the piece glows a luminescent blue before it vanishes back to normal.
“Thank you.” the younger says before crushing him into a hug that sends him stumbling back. He wraps his arms around the younger’s waist as a chilly breeze makes them both shudder. They stay wrapped up in each others arms for a few seconds more, then Jungkook is moving away with a pout on his face. “Let’s go inside, you’re already sick and it’s really cold out here.” he urges, pulling Taehyung back into the room by his hand. “I’m feeling better now.” Taehyung argues, but immediately shuts up when the younger sends a glare his way.
They soon make it back to the common room where everyone has made themselves comfortable, Namjoon and Seokjin busying themselves with playing a game of chess, which Seokjin cheats at everytime the latter looks away, but Taehyungs’ not a snitch, so he keeps his mouth shut.
And Hoseok handing out little gingerbread cookies he made with lopsided smiley faces on them and multicolored candies, all while his white translucent wings are spread out on display.
And don’t forget about Jimin who’s busy pursuing Yoongi, who surprisingly doesn’t seem to mind the younger’s company. All the while a mix of modern and classic christmas music plays on the television in the resting area of the room.
Jungkook leads him into the empty kitchen, stopping at a counter and deciding it’s a good place to sit. Taehyung stands in front of him, arms on both sides of the boy's waist.
“What’s all this?” the vampire asks again, referring to the party Taehyung had arranged.
“Well,” he starts, playing with a rip in the younger’s jeans, “Jimin told me how excited you were for the party.. but he also told me how stubborn you are, and how you won’t go because i’m not going,” he begins and the vampire’s face turns a bright red.
“That traitor!” he exclaims, covering his face in embarrassment.
Taehyung chuckles as he continues. “So since i can’t go out anywhere, i decided to have a party here instead.. i know it’s not as cool as Minhyuk’s parties but i wanted to at least do something.” he explains sheepishly.
The vampire shakes his head to the side, putting his hand over Taehyung’s own, “It’s way cooler than Minhyuk’s, trust me.” he reassures and Taehyung laughs.
“So you did all this, just for me?” the younger asks, looking softly into his eyes. Taehyung looks away, suddenly feeling shy and mutters a “yeah.”
Before the younger can answer back, loud voices and footsteps fill the once silent room.
Jimin soon enters the room after, greeting them with a sheepish smile. “Um so.. i may have invited a few more people.” he admits as the voices get louder and louder.
“Uh huh, just a few.” Jungkook teases while rolling his eyes. He jumps down from the counter in front of Taehyung with a curious look on his face. “This is okay, right?” he asks, probably referring to the many new arrivals. Taehyung nods, he’s fine with it if Jungkook is.
Jungkook smiles, then rushes off to join Jimin and a few others gathered by a table full of drinks.
Taehyung sighs, but smiles after him.
Taehyung is standing in a corridor near the common room, watching as Jungkook dances and converses with a few of his friends.
He grabs his phone from his pocket with one hand, as his other holds a cup of cider. He checks the time and sighs, its eleven-forty, an hour and a half since the party started and he hasn’t gone out and talked to anyone really.
He pockets his phone and looks up only to meet eyes with a mop of blonde hair.
“Taehyungie!” the younger says while crushing him into a hug. Taehyung has to steady himself as he almost drops his drink.
“Jungkook, what-“
“I’ve been looking for you! why haven’t you hung out with us, i missed you.” he interrupts with a pout.
“Are you drunk?” Taehyung asks while raising an eyebrow, tightening his hold on the younger’s waist.
Jungkook gasps, like he’s offended by the question, “what? no! I’ve barely had anything to drink.” he reassures, but Taehyung doesn’t quite believe him. “Mhmm,” he hums teasingly, and the vampire lightly slaps him on the shoulder while he huffs frustratedly.
Taehyung laughs, leaning onto the frame of the corridor while Jungkook stands in front of him, arms still around each other.
“Okay, okay, what’s up?” he asks, not liking how a mischievous smirk grows on the younger face.
“We should dance.” the boy suggests, but it sounds more like a statement, and Taehyung internally cringes at the thought. He was never one to willingly dance in front of a bunch of people.
“I don’t like to dance.” he counters, watching as the younger tilts his head to the side.
“Why, is it because there’s too many people?” he asks and Taehyungs’ about to say yes, that’s exactly why, but before he can the vampire interrupts again.
“Then let’s dance here,” he declares.
Taehyung doesn’t have time to protest as the younger wraps and links his arms together around his neck. In return Taehyung brings their bodies closer by pulling on Jungkook’s waist.
With their chests practically touching, Jungkook leans his head on the elder’s shoulder as they sway lightly to the distant music.
He breathes in the younger’s blueberry scent and can’t stop himself from leaving a peck on his head, close to his ear from the angle. He can hear Jungkook’s breath hitch as he buries his face into his neck, before taking a deep breath.
“I’ve made up my mind.” he says, but it’s slightly muffled from the way he refuses to look the other in the eyes.
Taehyung hums, urging the other to continue.
“I don’t hate you.” he admits. Taehyung leans back, wanting to look the other in the eyes, but ending up way closer than he expected. He stares into the younger’s coffee colored eyes, watching as golden specs of light that flicker like a thousand stars dance around in his eyes.
Like golden stars.
The younger leans closer, Taehyung’s heartbeat is wild as the younger whispers against his lips.
“Quite the opposite.”
Before fully pressing his soft lips against Taehyung’s own.
Instantly his eyes slip shut, savoring the moment as the younger runs his hands through Taehyung’s dark hair, and their lips move perfectly in sync. The kiss stays slow, just the two testing out the waters as new feelings are floating to the surface. Taehyung breaks away from the kiss, just to set his red cup on the ground before diving back in. Even though words aren’t being exchanged, they don’t need to talk to know the deep affection is there, and it’s there to stay.
They break apart when their breathing comes short, and Taehyung rests his forehead against the younger’s as they breathe together.
“I don’t regret it.” the younger whispers against his lips and he smiles, leaving a chaste kiss to the others soft lips.
“Me neither.” he agrees, hugging the vampire by his waist. The younger returns the hug just as quickly as it happened, and soon, they’re back to swaying to the distant music.
It’s silent for a little while, just the two basking in each others presence, dancing in their own little world.
“Can i sleep in your room tonight? I want to cuddle.” Jungkook’s small voice breaks the silence.
Taehyung nods with soft eyes, even if the younger can’t particularly see him, and kisses him on the forehead.
Jungkook sighs, allowing himself to be showered in affection as he melts into the elders arms.
He likes this a lot.
They’ll obviously have to talk about what ‘this’ is, but for now he’s just going to enjoy the moment.
Taehyung looks up, noticing a bundle of green hanging above them. “Ah, mistletoe.” he points to the object and the younger looks up, giggling to himself.
“Well, well, well.” a cold voice breaks their moment and instantly makes the younger stiffen in Taehyung’s hold.
He looks up to meet eyes with a tall man, taller than both Jungkook and him, and he’s dressed in all black. There’s a cold eerie aura that surrounds the man and Taehyung instantly doesn’t like him.
He protectively holds the younger against his chest, maintaining eye contact with the strange man as he steps closer to the two of them.
Jungkook doesn’t dare to look up, he already knows who the man is.
“What a surprise to see you again, Jeon.”
