“I wish to keep kissing you for forever.”
Soobin giggled, turning his head to look at Yeonjun, the twinkling lights from their Christmas tree throwing dashes of beautiful reds, greens, and yellows across his skin. His eyes bore into the younger’s, two galaxies full of infinite love and possibilities—.
Since when did Soobin get so cheesy? He swore Yeonjun was rubbing off on him, changing and moulding parts of him that he thought to be impenetrable. The realisation doesn’t disgust him.
“If you kiss me forever we’ll never get anything done,” he replied softly, still smiling. Yeonjun hummed, leaning in close again. “Worth it,” he whispered, and then Soobin fell into his grace again. He melted as Yeonjun’s lips pressed against his, as his arms carefully pulled him closer, their thighs touching as they kissed. Yeonjun’s lips tasted like peppermint from the candy cane he had been munching on earlier and Soobin could never get enough.
He pulled away, resting a hand on the side of his neck. “I wish for an endless supply of ramyeon,” he said, a little breathless. He gave Yeonjun a bright smile as the elder scoffed, rolling his eyes. He gripped Soobin’s knee as he looked up at the ceiling. “Seriously? I say something sappy and you say you want endless ramyeon?” he whined.
“I do!” Soobin laughed, lifting Yeonjun’s head and pressing their foreheads together. “I have everything else I could ever wish for right here.”
Yeonjun gagged but smiled, pulling Soobin back in for yet another kiss. Despite Yeonjun’s fake complaining, he kissed Soobin so passionately it quite literally made Soobin’s head spin. Yeonjun was strategic in the way he kissed Soobin, and knew just how to make him weak and trembling in his arms.
But apparently that wasn’t what he was going for because he pulled away too soon and jumped up, going over to the Christmas tree. “Present time!” he shrieked, dropping to the floor and digging around all of their carefully wrapped gifts. “Hyung, it’s only Christmas Eve,” he reminded, grinning as Yeonjun stuck his tongue out and kept digging. “You say that every year even though you know we’re allowed to open one gift early,” he retorted. Soobin laughed, sitting down next to the boy. He started to rifle through the gifts, until he found one that was addressed to him.
He sat it on his lap and then turned to watch Yeonjun. Yeonjun always took forever to choose, lifting each gift, shaking it, trying to figure out what could possibly be hidden under the wrapping paper. This year was no different, except that there was one gift that Soobin really would prefer be left to Christmas morning. It was important.
And of course, that was the one Yeonjun decided on. He held it in his hands and was just about to give Soobin a gleeful smile when Soobin realised what gift he had and quickly snatched it out of his hands. “Not that one!” he cried.
Yeonjun’s eyes widened in surprise and he instantly reached for the gift. “Hey! That’s not allowed, it’s free choice!” he argued, gasping when Soobin yanked his hand away from Yeonjun’s grabby fingers. “Soobin!”
Soobin scrambled to his feet, cruelly extending his arm all the way up to where he knew Yeonjun wouldn’t be able to reach. The dancer stood up too and levelled Soobin with a glare before lunging for the gift. Soobin anticipated the move, however, and quickly pivoted so that Yeonjun ended up grabbing air instead.
“Seriously?! What’s the big deal?” he panted, turning back around and placing his hands on his hips. Soobin hesitated then, because what exactly was he supposed to tell Yeonjun?
Sorry, you can’t open this because it has an engagement ring in it and I have been planning this moment for the last six months.
Yeah, that wasn’t an option.
“Um, I just want you to save this one until tomorrow morning,” he mumbled. Yeonjun quirked an eyebrow at him, before crossing his arms petulantly. “And what if I don’t want to?” he sneered, being bratty on purpose.
Soobin sighed, before moving right into Yeonjun’s space and cupping his jaw with one large hand. The boy faltered under the unexpected touch, but maintained his gaze as Soobin locked eyes with him. Soobin focused on his expression, trying to send Yeonjun a message through his eyes that he couldn’t with his mouth. “Hyung, can you please save this one until morning?”
And Soobin was looking at his boyfriend so intensely that Yeonjun finally surrendered. He stared back in silence for a few seconds, before he nodded slowly. Soobin smiled in relief and gave him a quick kiss for his troubles. “Thank you,” he whispered. He dropped his hand then and carefully put the gift back under the tree. He plucked the gift he had chosen back up and turned back to his boyfriend, who was still standing and just watching him.
He waved the gift in his face, catching his attention. “Can I open this one, hyung?” Soobin asked politely. Yeonjun stared at him in an almost confused way, as if he had forgotten what they were doing. Oh lord, Soobin hoped he hadn’t figured out his plans.
Thankfully he snapped out of it and quickly nodded, sitting back down on the floor. “None of my gifts are off limits,” he replied. Soobin rolled his eyes playfully and placed the gift in his lap. “You’re so dramatic.”
Yeonjun only hummed, reaching and grabbing a different gift. He hugged it to his chest as he turned back around. “If you don’t let me open this one I won’t have sex with you tonight,” he threatened. Soobin’s cheeks flooded red but he held his own, scoffing lightly. “Like you’d ever break that tradition,” he teased. “That one’s fine to open.”
Yeonjun only stuck his tongue out, but then finally did drop the act as he pinched the wrapping paper between his fingers and tore. Soobin smiled and did the same. His heart fluttered happily as he saw a beautiful framed photo of him and Yeonjun from that spring when they had travelled to London together.
He looked up and saw Yeonjun lifting one of the ballet shoes out of the box, peering at is as if it was a piece of priceless artwork. The elder had mentioned heavily his desire to start learning ballet along with the other types of dance he knew, and Soobin didn’t think twice before getting him a pair of shoes.
Yeonjun’s eyes flickered over to Soobin’s, and they were shining with tears. He’s gonna be a mess if this is how he reacts to ballet shoes.
“Do you like them? Are they the right size? We can exchange them if we need to,” Soobin rambled, gently setting the photo frame beside him. Yeonjun shook his head, putting the shoe back and moving the box off his lap. “They’re perfect, baby, thank you,” he whispered, crawling over and pulling Soobin into an awkward hug.
Soobin smiled, wrapping his arms around Yeonjun’s torso and standing them both up to be more comfortable. Yeonjun melted against him, leaning against him and hiding his face in his neck the way he did when he got overwhelmed. “Thank you for the photo, hyung, I’ll put it on my desk at work so I can look at you whenever I want to,” he said, rubbing Yeonjun’s back.
Yeonjun remained snorted a little, unmoving from his hiding spot in Soobin’s neck. “Kinda pales in comparison to yours,” he mumbled. Soobin shook his head, resting one hand on the back of Yeonjun’s head as he began to sway them both. “I love it, and I love you.”
The elder pressed a little closer, and Soobin felt gentle lips on his skin as Yeonjun kissed him there a few times. “Merry Christmas, baby,” he whispered. Soobin hummed, smiling softly as Yeonjun stood up straight and pulled Soobin’s lips to his. “I love you, too.”
They kissed in front of the Christmas tree as snow fell outside and gingerbread cookies baked in the oven. Christmas music filtered sweetly through the air and everything else outside of their blissful, peppermint-tinged bubble ceased to exist.
As Soobin kissed Yeonjun, he found himself thinking about what he told Yeonjun earlier.
He did, indeed, have everything he could ever want.
