Work Text:
Eijirou had been anxiously waiting for the right time to ask Kouda out on a date in order to minimize the heartache when it led to rejection, but he was surprised by the other man’s answer.
“Really?” Eijirou couldn’t help but ask.
Kouda smiled nervously, picking slightly at the shirt he had put on just recently (they were changing out of their hero costumes after a long day of sidekicking), “Yeah, I, uh… I would love to go on a date with you, Kirishima-kun.”
Eijirou grinned easily, despite being slightly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of joy he was feeling. Who would’ve thought that the quiet kid in his class would make him feel like this through a simple sentence?
“Alright, cool! I was thinking we could go to that new butterfly pavilion that opened up a couple weeks ago? I figured the first rush of people coming in to see it would have died down by now, so it should be pretty quiet, yeah?”
Kouda’s smile was so small and cute that Eijirou swore that he could physically feel his heart melting down to his feet. “That sounds perfect…”
Eijirou couldn’t help but reach out in order to pull Kouda into a hug, but he stopped just short of the other. Kouda seemed to realize that Eijirou was wondering how to ask permission to touch him and reached out as well to fold himself into Eijirou’s arms.
Eijirou’s chest burned as he squeezed Kouda gently to bring him closer to Eijirou’s chest. Kouda seemed to fit perfectly in Eijirou’s arms, the perfect size for Eijirou to hook his chin over Kouda’s shoulder comfortably while his arms rested on Kouda’s waist.
The more that Eijirou thought about it, the more fitting going to a butterfly pavilion was for their first date. After all, Eijirou had never experienced butterflies until he got to know Kouda.
