Work Text:
"I can't believe it's the last day of the Winter's Festival already!" Powder skipped holding her bags of gifts bought on Vi's dime, as the sisters made their way over to Caitlyn's house for the party. Though there was no real dress code nor was it a costume party, Powder still dressed as a Winterfest Elf, complete with fake, synthetic, pointy ears that she made herself, alongside a store bought Santa hat and dress with green pants to keep warm in the cold of night. The pants were carefully hand-painted on with red stripes by the blue haired girl to make it look like wrapping paper.
"How are you not cold, Pow?" Vi asked, hugging herself through her gifted winter coat to keep her body temperature up. She was not dressed as festively, but underneath the layers of winter clothing was her usual stylish streetwear on top with a well toned body.
"Can't be cold when I'm this excited!" Powder replied, her skips having become hops at some point along the journey. Luckily none of the gifts were fragile, Vi thought to herself with relief. This was the first time the duo had ever experienced a top sider Winterfest. Alongside the, well, festival that Piltover would always host alongside concerts and plays, it was quite different from what they were used to. Instead of luxurious bags and clothes or the latest toys and gizmos, the gifts in Zaun tended to be handmade or scrounged together over the year. It was the best many of them could muster, but at the very least it made them appreciate the little they had with the friends and family they were lucky to have.
"Remember the Winterfest where Vander got you those gauntlets to train with? And Uncle Silco got me those crayons? Oo! What about the year Ekko rapped in front of the fireplace? Oh! Or the year Mylo dropped the gift he had for you and all of us pitched in to fix it that night?" Powder rambled and reminisced, keeping the silent night away and distracting Violet from the heat, until an impressively large (even for Piltover standards) mansion loomed before the two, seemingly taunting the two Zaunites who used to live in tight rooms fit for one.
The insane amount of spending and extravagance in Piltover never ceased to simultaneously wow and anger Vi, she thought to herself. What whole streets in Zaun could look like if they had the bags of money this one mansion was worth. It always motivated the two to work even harder to make sure the rest of Zaun could one day experience an extravagant Winterfest like they were about to. Rubbing her hands, Vi rang the doorbell with an odd sense of aggression, and a woman with white accents in her hair answered the door, exuding class and classism.
"Ah, Violet and Powder." She said as if she were a teacher marking attendance. "Thank you for coming tonight." Vi couldn't tell if she was intimidated or upset at feeling so unwelcomed, but Powder cut through her irritation with a quick and jittery handshake, her smile sending light to outperform the moonlight. Quickly, Mrs. Kiramman's scowl warped into a gentle smile as if it was physically impossible to have even any amount of contempt towards Powder. Despite the association of being from Zaun, they were still children, she thought. She needed to unlearn her inherent disgust from her upbringing and embrace her daughter's special guests.
"Please, come in, it must be freezing, dears." Vi quietly muttered a thank you which Powder echoed, albeit significantly louder, and the two walked inside, the pink haired brawler hanging her coat up as she warmed up immediately upon entering.
"Ah, young Powder and the sister! I do say, my dear girls, it's nice to see you outside the labs! And how festive you are!" The quick trots of Heimerdinger followed by his voice were the first things to greet the newest arrivals. Trailing behind him was the ever fluffy Porofessor, making his adorable purrs and jumping into Powder's arms. The explosive ball of joy ruffled his hair and placed him down, only to pick up a startled Heimerdinger for a hug.
"Heya, Professor!" She nuzzled Heimerdingers face, squeezing him incredibly tightly and triggering his flight or fight response. He was shaking at the possibility of Powder squeezing his head off or cutting off his oxygen supply, though fortunately for him he was placed back down.
"Hey, Professor Heimerdinger." Vi greeted, shaking the hand of the still recovering inventor recently placed back on the floor. "How's your Winterfest been so far?"
"Ah, good! Spent most of it experimenting! Science never sleeps, my dear girl!" He excitedly spoke, invoking a giggle from Powder.
"Say, y'know, you're a Yordle, and rumours always say you Yordles come from a magical little village... why not go back there for Winterfest?" Asked a curious Powder, eager to learn the culture of her esteemed professor.
"Ah, well, Bandle City is quite a ways away! And as far as I'm concerned, Piltover is my home as much as Bandle City is! I'll have plenty of time to return, plus... there are some people I'm simply not ready to deal with so soon." He lamented on times with Ziggs, the explosive Yordle having incredible scientific ability but also possessing a far more potent addiction to explosives. He wasn't ready for that much noise. He was much happier with the classical musicians in the Kiramman's Household alongside many other brilliant minds.
"Hey, sis, you smell that?" Vi sniffed, smelling the intense aroma. It was almost addictive, an aphrodisiac for food. Powder was practically hypnotised by the smell the moment she got a whiff, almost drooling and following the scent mindlessly. The trail and promise of food led her right outside the kitchen, where a man was running back and forth with his team of chefs, bringing ingredients and plates of food around, scrambling to make everything done efficiently.
"Vi! Powder! Hi! Thanks for coming! Please, don't come in! Nothing here is complete! Go to the living room, we have a fire and food and everyone is there instead!" Mr. Kiramman instructed, only halfway aware of the words exiting his mouth, with most attention being kept on making delicious meals for the night. The sisters nodded with a newfound awareness of the rumbling in their stomachs and made their way to the living room where Heimerdinger had returned to.
"Can you believe they have a whole team of chefs in this one house?"
"Have you seen the house? I'd be more surprised if it was just Cupcake's dad." Vi joked as Powder chortled, entering the living room festively decorated.
That was definitely a real Winterfest tree, with presents galore underneath it, more presents than Vi had ever seen during her Winterfest's in Zaun. Some of the wrapping paper looked more expensive than some of the gifts she had ever opened too.
"There's no way those are all real presents."
"Once again Powder, I'd be more surprised if they weren't." Vi half smiled and pulled up her hood on her jacket despite being in a far warmer room for a simple reason: this get-together was not just for close friends of the household's daughter. There were many of the parent's friends, Enforcer buddies and their kids. The last thing Vi needed or wanted was to have to participate in small talk with these work colleagues outside of the office and busting crimes. If anyone came up to her and tried to strike conversation, she'd probably give her gauntlets to Powder and ask her to knock her out.
"Hey hey! Powder and Vi!" The teen sporting streetwear somehow more hip than Vi's and more artsy came sauntering up, his dreads as white as the snow outside with a smile warmer than the fireplace indoors.
"Little Man!" Vi practically jumped him, and Powder sheepishly stood by and waved, trying to crumple herself like a ball of paper.
"Pow, you look great! It's, uh, a cute fit!" He complimented, causing all of Powder's blood to circulate to her cheeks instead of her brain, completely incapacitating her for a moment. She tried to sound out a thank you and gave Ekko a quick but intimate hug, before settling down on the velvet couch with him.
"So, a rich girl's Winterfest. This is what it's like." Ekko practically whispered, sipping on the beverage with a foreign name he had grown to love over the night. He shared similar sentiments to Vi, that underneath the festive mood and joy the day should bring, it really only served to remind the two about the haves and have nots in the world. They tried to keep up smiles and cheer but deep down a rage was festering. Topsiders can get nice trees for Winterfest, some Zaunites have never even seen one in their lives.
"It's a mixed bag for me too. I wish Vander were here with us. Or better yet, that all people from the Undercity could celebrate like this." Vi sighed, accepting Ekko's offer of a sip of... something. Man, that was good shit.
"He's got his work to do. I'm sure he's just happy we are." Ekko shrugged, knowing what he said wasn't true. It's hard to be happy thinking of those who have nothing on Winterfest. Some without presents, or warmth, or families.
"Are you up for a visit home tomorrow then?" Vi asked, knowing Ekko would, predictably, nod and get hyped up about it. Sure, his body lived in the dorms of Piltover Academy, but he truly only lived in Zaun. Returning home was like wearing an old shirt and finding it always fits perfectly.
"Hey, doesn't it feel like we're missing something? Or... someone?" Powder asked, eating the various pastries set out on the table and drinking the soda offered by one of the many servants in the house.
Someone? They were missing many someones. Firstly, Vi thought, Caitlyn. She literally lived here. How the hell has she not come up? Secondly, the lab rats. No shot they're still working on whatever new trivial good their investors are asking them to work on instead or making out in the lab instead of coming here. Vi chugged her own drink and shoved a cupcake in her mouth, wishing everyone she didn't talk to on a basis that wasn't work was gone and she could at least have those three.
Coming out from upstairs came a woman clad in a velvet red dress, twenty buttons and a strap, dark blue hair recently washed flowing underneath an adorable Santa hat that unlike her ridiculous regular top hat, actually fit her head well. Everyone who caught a glimpse was starstruck, turning heads and having their jaws dropped. Greetings were passed around, with praises and compliments sung in her wake.
Vi caught wind of the commotion, turning around only to see her girlfriend standing around like a socialite, dazzling everyone around her. Her cheeks turned the same colour as her hair, and she almost started to hyperventilate at the sight. She brushed her hair to the side and began to vibrate her legs at mach speeds, any faster and she'd completely scramble her molecules to phase through the floor.
On sight, Powder jumped up and over the couch and rushed her.
"Caityyyy!!!" She shouted, effortlessly dodging the nobodies surrounding her and dumping the biggest bear hug she could possibly muster. Caught off guard, Caitlyn took a moment to return the hug and softly held her like a mother does a child.
"Hello, Pancake! My, you are adorable!" She greeted warmly, ruffling her hair and twiddling her ears. She platonically pecked her twice on the cheek, stirring intense jealousy from Vi. What she wouldn't give to be Powder right now. Her eyes lingered on Caitlyn's smile, her freshly painted nails that were running through Powder's hair and her flawlessly done eyelashes.
"My sister's over there with her eyes out of her sockets and jaw on her floor." Powder teased, pointing at Vi. Seeing her in a vulnerable state, she turned away and sat in anticipation of Caitlyn walking over, face flushed furiously. She wanted to punch herself in the face to snap her back to being composed and firm but she had already melted into lovestruck goo. Curse her gay panic.
Caitlyn laughed and waltzed over, tapping her on the shoulder and hugging her from behind.
"Heya, Violet." She whispered with confidence, letting her breathing caress her neck and giving her a kiss on her cheek. Vi's legs could have caused an earthquake with her shakes, never had she felt so incredibly flustered.
"Mm, aren't you just putty in my arms tonight." She taunted, stroking her neck and letting go, just walking over to the couch to sit down. Every moment not touched by Caitlyn felt like she was going to drown, as if she needed her soft hands cradling her face to even consider living a viable option. When she sat, Vi had for the first time in her life wished she was a chair instead of a human.
"You like it? Got it specially for Winterfest." Caitlyn gestured to her dress, smirking at Vi's sudden lack of brain function.
"I- yeah- you- you're so hot, Cupcake." She finally mustered, lying on Caitlyn's lap affectionately.
"Yes I am, Violet. How are you finding the party?" She asked, stroking her hair and sipping a drink the butler gave without a command.
"It just got a whole lot better." Vi smiled, wanting to lie here forever, never wanting to socialise again tonight.
"You know, we could go to your room and I can give you a present." Vi flirted, hand blatantly caressing Caitlyn's thigh. She chuckled, wanting that as well but understanding her responsibility as Caitlyn Kiramman.
"Maybe later. For now, I'll have to be a socialite. But I'll come back for you as soon as I can, love." She kissed her forehead and gently pushed her off the lap, the one girl wrecking crew whimpering at Caitlyn's departure and returning to her job of mingling.
"Well, looks like you're back with me, huh. Sorry your girlfriend couldn't stay!" Powder teased, returning back to the couch with a new plate of Winterfest snacks, from berries to chocolates to meat, haphazardly stuffing her mouth with treats.
"Oh man, these chocolate coated elderberries are the bomb." She laughed, popping one in Vi's mouth as she agreed, savouring the taste.
"Let's buy a tonne of these tomorrow. We can give em' back in Zaun personally. I'll uh, borrow some money from Vikky. He won't mind. Or notice." Powder suggested, putting a smile on Vi's face. All this time it had seemed as though she had completely forgotten about the Undercity through all the bliss of the festival, but it seems that Powder was just as attached as she and Ekko were, albeit less of a rebel and revolutionary fire that was present in them but still love.
"Speaking of Viktor, where the hell are the boyfriends of progress?" Vi asked rhetorically, knowing Powder wouldn't be able to answer that either. But speak of the devil and he will come, and the doorbell rang right on cue. But when Mrs. Kiramman opened the door, she didn't exactly see someone on the list.
It was... Santa Braum!
Powder's mouth went agape and smiles were scattered across everyone who saw the man at the door, every observer tapping the shoulder of the person next to them to take a good look at the person in front. Vi and Ekko, looking onwards from the living room, had the fight of their lives struggling not to completely lose it.
"There's no way Santa Braum is A, real, and B, at the door right now. Pinch me." Powder said, stuttering. The jolly, muscled man came with a sack possibly filled with presents beyond their wildest imaginations and his trademark well-kept white luscious beard.
"Ho, ho, ho!" A booming voice hollered, "thanks for the invite Mrs. Kiramman!" From behind the large sack of gifts, came out a pale man with a cane and wearing a cream turtleneck, with a pair of fake antlers on his head. His costume was, to put lightly, slightly less convincing.
"Y-yes... hi. Thank you for your hospitality." He said quietly before joining in the rest of the party.
"No way." Powder looked at Braum and his 'reindeer' and turned to Vi. "Not only is Santa Braum real, but Viktor's his assistant too?! God, he's full of surprises." Vi laughed, but was also incredibly concerned at the fact she couldn't discern if Powder genuinely believed that was Santa Braum or was kidding and knew it was Jayce.
"Sup' nerds?" Vi got up and greeted sincerely, hugging Viktor and bumping Jayce's fist. "Good cosplay."
"Haha! What cosplay? I am Santa Braum himself! But yes, what's up, delinquent?" He said that last part softly, pulling her in for a hug and patting her back, coming out of it to see a starry eyed elf looking back at him.
"Hohoho! And who is this elf here?" He lowered himself a little, patting the head of the ambitious elf.
"Hi! I'm, uh, I'm, uh Powder! I'm definitely on your list right? I'm nice! I'm nice! I, uh, big fan! Hi!" She incoherently greeted, completely deceived by the man in front of her.
"I-I may need to reconsider Powder as my assistant." Viktor jokingly whispered to Vi who chortled in response.
"You should instead permanently hire whoever did Jayce's makeup and look." She counter offered, knowing that if Powder looked past the makeup meant to age Jayce and childhood wish fulfilment of seeing Braum, she would definitely notice the Man of Progress behind the beard.
"Well, he did it all himself with a bit of my help." He admitted to Vi, casually accepting a drink from a butler running about.
"He couldn't get you in full deer costume?" She jested, fiddling with the fake antlers sticking out of head.
"He certainly tried to convince me. But I'd sooner walk without my cane than do that." The two laughed and clinked their drinks, enjoying the moment.
"Hello, 'Santa'! Glad you could make it on your busy schedule." Caitlyn greeted, giving a warm embrace to her childhood friend, which he returned in full.
"I wouldn't miss a Winterfest party for the world! Well, to be more specific, I'd gladly stop my very important task of designing the earth shattering Hextech lighter to come by..." he sheepishly admitted, breaking character for a bit after scanning the area to make sure Powder wasn't listening in on the conversation. Surprisingly, she wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Milk and cookies?" An ecstatic and eager to prove herself Powder offered, sticking her hands out as if bribery for a better gift from Santa, or better yet, employment.
"Hohoho! Thank you, Powder! You're most definitely on the nice list!" He laughed, ruffling her hair and stuffing his face with treats.
"That right there is the smartest man in Piltover." Vi smugly commented, looking on at the new white moustache forming on Jayce's mouth as he gulped down the milk.
"Untrue. The real smartest man is wearing antlers over there to appease his boyfriend." Their gaze shifted over to Viktor making casual conversation against his will, wanting to die rather than have to explain to yet another rightfully curious individual as to why he had antlers on at all.
The night blazed on by when the gang had gathered, with people slowly growing tired and leaving. Caitlyn's show of mingling and socialising was admired by Vi from afar, Ekko singing songs by the fire next to the band, giving them a bit of vocal flair which Heimerdinger appreciated like a fine art connoisseur. Viktor sat near Jayce, who as Santa Braum, recounted great stories of the Frejlord he made up on the spot to an entranced Powder seated on his lap.
Soon, the people dwindled and only the remaining champions of stamina remained, even the band and chefs leaving. The dinner spread before everyone left was incredible, if love wasn't the secret ingredient it was definitely drugs, because no food could naturally be that addicting, thought Vi. Many couples got drunk and decided to head home, some suffering from food coma called it a night early and some exhausted from socialising far longer than ever before in their lives made a beeline for the door.
"Alright," Ekko yawned, "just us remain, Cait. Gift time." He smirked, perking back up from a whole night of activity. Caitlyn looked at the boy genius and smiled, declaring it gift exchange time for the close group of friends.
"Sure, since everyone else has left. Santa Braum, if you would?" Caitlyn gave the honours to Jayce, who gleefully emptied his sack of gifts and added it to the pile under the tree that was left for the friends sitting around the fireplace, as he handed each person whichever gift had their names on them. Vi and Powder fervently unwrapped their gifts, some childhood joy coming into their lives. As they sorted the gifts, Vi pondered as to how he can take some of these gifts and give back to the community. Some of the treats she got she knew Claggor back home may enjoy and Vander may like the pendant Viktor gave her... although she knew that'd just make him a target for petty thievery.
"Look Vi! New fabric paint! Santa Braum came through for me!" Powder declared with glee in every word and a newfound respect for 'Santa'. Of course, little did she know that he only knew what she wanted for Winterfest thanks to his 'reindeer's' intel. Vi smiled, opening her gift from Santa as well.
"These... are new gauntlets!" She excitedly tore through the wrapping, instantly knowing what was in the box thanks to the weight and centre of gravity of the items inside.
"Those are the Mk-III Atlas Gauntlets, our latest design! The original gauntlets you used were done with the intention of mining in Zaun but these are far more suited for combat and demolition. Y'know, the kind of thing you're into." Jayce smiled, proudly looking upon he and Viktor's work. "It's a combined gift from me, your sister and Viktor, though he'll insist it was all me. Check out the paint job!" The design was far less utilitarian and had quite the spunk to it, courtesy of Powder, it was as if it was graffiti that made its way onto the gauntlets. Wearing them almost immediately, Vi hugged the scientists, practically jumping them.
Caitlyn looked on and smiled, feeling a tap on her shoulder only to turn and see Ekko looking up to her.
"I'm not a fan of enforcers in general and you're barely an exception. But, I'm Vi's fan and I guess that makes you alright." The young heart of Zaun admitted, pulling out a small box. "So I designed these. They're kinda like bear traps. For people. And Yordles. Some of the people you guys go after are victims of a system forcing them to do what they need to live, and the fact that you all wield firearms as one of your first options to attack doesn't sit right with me, not everyone deserves to be shot. Use these as a way to hold people down and not to resort to the lethal force my people used to suffer." Caitlyn hesitated, but grabbed the box, nodded and thanked. Of course, you could shoot to incapacitate but maybe Ekko was right. Less violence is always better.
"There aren't too many, so just lemme know when you need more. I'm warnin' ya though, they don't come cheap!" He half-joked, fully expecting Caitlyn to pay without haggling if she had to, if she was anything like Jayce.
"Speakin' of Vi, you better have something for her."
"Of course I do."
Caitlyn walked through the air over to Vi and tapped her shoulder. The large fisted girl turned and smiled at the lady in blue expectantly.
"Can we head up and out to the balcony?"
The two silently slithered out of the room.
Up the stairs.
To the balcony in the cold, with the moonlight shining on the two of them.
Caitlyn closed the door behind them.
"Cupcake, what's this abo-" Caitlyn interrupted a predictable question and pulled Vi in, kissing her on the lips and caressing her cheek. Only reluctant for a moment, Vi returned the favour passionately, arm stroking her girlfriend's back as she got slammed against a wall. Time slowed to a crawl, yet seemed to move at a rapid pace with the stars twinkling in the night sky as drizzles of snow graced Runeterra's soil.
"Was that my present?" Vi snarkily asked after their lips lingered next to each other. Caitlyn chuckled and shook her head, pulling away from Vi momentarily.
"Vi, do you know how long it's been since we've known each other and got together?" She asked, not needing an answer herself but wanting to know her understanding of their history.
"About two to three years, isn't it? First met when my sister's ride to topside and a better life led me to taking down those thugs trying to hurt her just because she even looked remotely Zaunite." She spoke solemnly, remembering the rage she felt against Pilties. Then again, it wasn't long until Caitlyn saw the resolution of the fight that the two got to know each other, albeit through an interrogation at the station. The invitation to join the enforcers came from Vi's good heart, need to protect those who can't themselves, and well, Caitlyn's recommendation.
"I know other people would judge, but with the amount of history we have, I think we have gone through a lot together. More than most couples in a few years." Vi felt her hand being gently held by Caitlyn's, she looked down and gazed at the nails so glittery from the polish you'd think it was reflecting the night sky.
"No kidding, so what's up?" She quietly questioned.
"Well, I was wondering... if this Winterfest, you'd like a last name as a present." Caitlyn's lips curled slightly upwards, her hand reaching into her pocket.
Vi's confusion turned into a gasp and soft weeping as her eyes leaked liquid joy watching Caitlyn slowly lower herself to one knee and pull a tiny box from her dress pocket.
"Violet, will you-"
"Yes, holy shit, yes. Yes, oh my fuck, yes, yes!" She could barely contain her excitement knowing what was coming.
"I'm not even finished!" She chuckled, opening the box for the glistening diamond to shine under the moon's glory, its full beauty causing Vi to understand why people became Lunari.
"Violet, will you marry me?"
"I fucking love you Cupcake, yes. A million times, yes." She grabbed her by the waist and picked her up, spinning her around with glee, before putting her down and planting her lips onto hers. If she was any less careful, she would have definitely tossed Caitlyn all the way to Shurima.
"This may be the best Winterfest I've ever had." Vi said, gazing deep into Caitlyn's eyes who agreed with the statement.
"So... should we tell everyone?" Both their heads slowly tilted downwards, staring at the gemstone on Vi's finger.
"Maybe another day. We'll enjoy the festivities first. But... Caitlyn, can we do something? Tomorrow?"
"What is it?"
"Well, tomorrow I'm gonna go to Zaun, probably with Powder and Little Man. Help out the community a bit while we're there, see some family and friends. I was wondering," Vi hesitated a moment, unsure if this idea was stupid or not. Well, it wasn't stupid, but maybe a topsider like Caitlyn wouldn't understand why she had to do this. "If you'd like to come? Dress on the down low, we help the people on the streets. Do our part this Winterfest for the people who don't have it as good as us." Vi explained, still gazing at the ring and Caitlyn simultaneously.
"Of course, dear." She said, going in closer. "I think I've lived in this ivory tower for too long anyways." Her smile widened, understanding this was for everyone's benefit. "I have to really be a part of the community, even for a bit, to truly understand how I can best help them. To think about our policies, instead of just sending people off to Stillwater and calling it a day." She kissed Vi, and Vi kissed Caitlyn back. That was why Vi loved her, her deeply ingrained desire to help people had always resonated deeply with the Zaunite.
"Hey, you two! Come on back! You guys still have gifts!" Powder called, pressing her face against the glass and interrupting the lovebirds. Her eyes almost immediately darted to the ring on Vi's finger that wasn't there hours ago, but she decided to remain oblivious and see how long they'd keep up the secret. It was far more fun this way, after all. Same with immediately noticing the chiselled bone structure of 'Santa Braum' completely matching with Jayce's.
The two laughed at some secret joke between the two of them, and left the balcony with Powder back to the living room.
"What'd you two talk about? What gift did you give? Did you do something naughty on the balcony?" Powder's eyebrows fluttered madly, teasing the couple and arousing blushes on their cheeks. Caitlyn turned to Vi who was awkwardly laughing to hide her 'secret', staring at her soft lips and smiling. Eventually the trio made it back to the living room where festivities were still happening, the party almost as lively as it was with forty more people around.
Everyone was still sharing gifts and eating any leftover treats they could muster, stomachs stuffed and taste buds sated. Most people were walking away with new prized possessions and cherished memories that would last a lifetime until everyone but Vi and Powder decided it was time to head home and recover from a night of joy and laughter.
"It has been an excellent night! But, time is like a river, it simply does not stop flowing! I'll have to leave and get some rest for another day of discovery! My dear boys and girls, thank you for the night!" Heimerdinger spoke, cradling a sleepy Porofessor as the two scurried off to their homes.
"I'm with Professor Heimer on this one, time don't stop movin'! You two, see you in Zaun tomorrow, meet at Benzo's at 8?" Ekko said, picking up his gifts and giving Powder's hair one last ruffling for the day, sending butterflies down Powder's spine straight into her stomach.
"You know it, Little Man." Vi affirmed, giving Ekko a goodbye hug as he picked up his hoverboard and took off.
"I'm gonna head off as well." Jayce yawned, glancing over at a dozing off Viktor. "Vik's been awake for over a day now, he's running on about 5 cups of coffee and love for you guys. I'll take him back though, don't wake him!" He walked on over to the greatest mind in the room and lifted him gently, listening to his sleep murmuring about Hextech and carrying him out the door. Powder, ever so helpful, opened the door for the two of them to head on home.
"Is he gonna carry him all the way? Can the sleigh fit them both? Can the poro-reindeers take that weight?" The youngest girl in the house asked.
"Viktor weighs less than my gauntlets and Santa over there is kinda built. I'm sure they'll be fine." Vi reassured, lying on Caitlyn and enjoying the pampering she was giving her for the night. The light strokes and warm breath touching her neck, knowing Caitlyn's piercing eyes were glancing down and admiring her only served to let her enjoy the moment more.
The trio remained seated in the living room, sharing stories of childhood and winters long past. This lasted until a drained Powder began yawning and dozing off on the sofa only for Vi to take a blanket and cover her as she cuddled her brand new stuffed rabbit, courtesy of Caitlyn.
By the fireplace, the newly engaged couple cuddled for warmth, Caitlyn leaning onto Vi's shoulder and clutching her tightly, never wanting to let go of this love. Vi's hands clutched hers, desperate to hang on to this love until the day she died. The two kissed one another one last time, then drifted off the sleep by the fire. Until the sun's light would creep in through the window, giving birth to a new day they would face together with their love strengthened even further.
If either had been awake, they would have seen a buff man with a fabulous moustache, donning the real clothes Jayce imitated, sledding across the sky passing the moon, blessing everyone with his presence.
"Happy Winterfest!" A booming, jolly voice rang through the city, spreading the love of the holidays to everyone who heard it.
