Chapter 1: Peace offering?

Chapter Text

After the daycare incident, Gregory didn't dare to go back.The memory of the being near the daycare nearly filled him with terror when he thinks of Moon and the overwhelming darkness. The way he crawled on all fours and hopped in the jungle gym with him, hearing the harsh laughter made him freeze in place. There was only one place where Gregory felt safe and that was in Freddy’s chest cavity. The way Freddy’s warm core and his assuring voice was enough to calm him down.

Moon traumatized him, he knows. The way that the moon animatronic made him freeze whenever the lights abruptly turned off and waited for his harsh voice and red glowing eyes to appear right in front of him in the dark.

But Sunrise. Sunrise was nothing like his counterpart. He was kind and his voice was always cheerful, energetic and warmer than Moon. He was nothing like his brother. He was kind, warm and funny.

So of course he felt guilty when he broke Sunrise single rule. He wanted to go back and apologize to him but whenever he got close to the daycare, Sunrise would yell out security forcing him to run away in panic. He doesn't blame Sunrise for that since he deserves that but he didn't mean for the lights to turn off! He only wanted to get the security badge and go to Freddy who was waiting outside. Besides, why was the light switch near the security badge?!

So here he is. Outside of the daycare area with a present in his arms. He got Sunrise a little plushy of himself and a little sweater which he managed to find that hopefully fits the animatronic as well a little note with a drawing of Sunrise and him smiling to each other. He tried his best with the drawing but he was kinda in a hurry to make it before Roxy came around the area. She always manages to find the general area Gregory was always in. It was strange but he paid no mind. It wasn't much but he hopes he accepts the gift nonetheless. There were limited things he could give someone. He hopes the drawing will patch things up between them. The daycare looked fun to play around and he wanted to take his time to explore the area and do all the things Sunrise wanted to do before he messed up.

He cautiously walked forwards and waited for the gate to open up fully.

He took a deep breath and walked in. He glanced at the two golden statues of both Sunrise and Moon back to back of each other and went to the slide that enters into the daycare. Making sure there was no Sunrise waiting at the top of the slide, like he used to be. Gregory cautiously put the present onto the slide and prayed it wouldn't fall apart when it went down or ruined the drawing. He gently pushed the present down and watched it disappear from view. He stood up and turned around before bolting it out of there.

He really hopes Sunrise will forgive him. He was the only one beside Freddy to actually not want to hurt him in this dreadful place. He was actually safe in the daycare and he wished he could stay there until the morning when the doors opened. He was in a state of panic and desperately wanted to be with Freddy. He hopes Sunrise will understand. They can even be the bestest friends!

But for now, it was time to worry about the bunny lady while he calls for Freddy on his fazwatch.

Sunrise knew the little rule breaker was back again when he heard the gates open. He silently went up the slide and waited for the boy to try to slide back in. He will stop him! The boy should know he was banned! He even put up a poster saying he was banned! Maybe he doesn't know how to read. What should he do if the little rule breaker doesn't know how to read?
Hmmmmm....
He'll come up with something.

For now, he waits for the boy to slide down so he can push the little one out once more. Except he never attempted to slide down; instead it was a little present that slid into him hitting his chest. Surprised, he grabs it and peeked out from the top of the slide and watches the boy bolt out of the daycare gate. The gate closed behind him.

Was this some kind of bribery? He wonders. No matter. Sunrise glances at the present and hums happily. He slides down and stands up. He got a present!!

He never really gets presents! He wonders what it will be! He happily jumped up to his room and twirled around and opened the box. Inside, he saw a little plush of himself, it was cute! A little sweater and a drawing. He puts the box down and takes the cute little plushy and hugs it to his chest and twirls around laughing. This was HIS! Not some kind of lost or forgotten toy of a child; it was His!!

"My property! My gift!!" Sunrise exclaimed, laughing away.
He took the sweater and put it on.

"My sweater too! Woo hoo!!" This was the best night ever! He never got his own toy. No child had ever given him a gift of his own but now he does and he will treasure it forever and ever!

He noticed a note and a drawing in the box. He picks up the drawing and hums gleefully. It was him and the little one smiling to each other. This was the best drawing ever. He glanced at the note and picked it up, opening it.

"Dear Mr, Sundrop

Am writing this letter to say am sorry for breakig your rules. I did not mean to, I was scared and wanted to get to Freddy but you were stoping me from leavig! I hope you can forgive for turnig off the light.

Gregory. "

Sunrise hums and tilts his head. ‘He got my name wrong’ He was used to it. Many assume it was like the name of his candy. Wait. The boy was scared? Why was he scared? Oh no! Sunrise dropped the note, the paper slowly falling to the ground, forgotten.

Did he scare the child!! He didn't mean to! Why didn't he tell him! ‘Stupid Sunrise! You are programmed to recognize if a child is afraid of you and how to handle them! Stupid! Stupid!’

Then again, he was too excited to see a new friend in his daycare after hours since it was too lonely and with little to do until morning. He forgot his manners! He made the child uncomfortable and it was his fault!

He must go find him! And go apologize to him for what he did! Maybe he can bring him back and they can play, finger paint and tell stories to each other and stay up all night! Yeah! He put the plushy near his 'bed' and took the drawing from the floor to pin it on his wall before jumping down into the ball pit. He had a new mission to do!

Go find his new friend!

Chapter 2

Summary:

A gift for an absent Moon.

Notes:

I honestly didn't expect this much positive attention to this little one shot I decided to write. You have no idea how much anxiety I had when I posted it. I honestly didn't expect to get this much kudos. I expected maybe like 20 kudos but in less than one day I gain 500 kudos and wonderful comments.

This is for my sister and my best friend who I showed them this fic and my other ones. It took me like few days to give them the link but they supported me.

Chapter Text

Nothing really changed after Gregory gave Sunrise a peace offering in hopes of reconciling their relationship. He didn’t know if the Sun animatronic even got his gift or if it managed to get stuck in the slide or somewhere in the ball pit if it managed to go down fully. He doesn’t want to find out honestly. He was a bit afraid of what Sunrise's reaction to the gift was. Does he accept the apology? Or did he throw it away because he doesn’t forgive him for being a rule breaker? Despite what Freddy says, Gregory can’t shake the idea of Sunrise hating him.

Gregory told Freddy what had happened in the daycare, what rules he had to break in order to get that security badge and let Freddy into the daycare. Gregory broke down on the traumatizing moment with Moon, hearing the harsh giggle and the red glowing eyes in the dark watching him. Stalking him. The harsh realization that Moon was in the same play structure. The way his heart stopped on seeing the red glow in the same tube he was in and his raspy whisper

“I found you”

He didn’t hesitate to fall through the opening in the structure, the cushion ground preventing him from hurting himself.
It was hard to go past that.

Freddy comforted him, he sooth his nerves and softly sang to him. Freddy was patient and waited for Gregory to calm down before thanking him for telling him about the daycare incident. He apologized for making Gregory go into the daycare when he thought it was safe. Turns out, whenever Freddy thinks a place is safe, it’s not. Freddy is aware of this now and won’t let Gregory go into a room without him anymore. They will find a way around if they have to. He won’t let Gregory go through another traumatizing moment. Gregory was glad he told Freddy, even when it took this long to do so.

But now, the feeling of guilt and regret won’t go away.

Gregory despises this feeling. The feeling of shame. He hated how much it basically ruined him, he never felt this way in a long time, not since he went homeless. He didn’t need this feeling on the streets, it was a weakness. He wanted to survive and the only way to survive was to fight, that’s how he lasted this long.

This feeling of guilt and shame overwhelmed him to the point where he can’t even go through the plan to get Freddy those upgrades. All he can see is Freddy’s horrified expression to his friend's demise. He didn’t want Freddy to have that expression. Ever. It didn’t suit him.

So Gregory will have to find another way to upgrade Freddy. A more humane way to get them. Perhaps there are spare parts laying around? He will have to ask Freddy later.

Gregory grumbled. He took the empty present box with a dark blue paper and set it in front of him. He was safely secured in an almost empty closet that doesn’t seem to be in use. This was a practically empty room. Perfect place to hide his mountain of items he proudly found scattered across the establishment. Finders keepers he says. He couldn’t hold the items he found and couldn’t stash them in Freddy, so he found this room. He didn’t want to explain to Freddy how he managed to find these items, he would most likely scold him for stealing them. It wasn’t his fault that people carelessly left their belongings behind for someone to take them.

Gregory glanced at his stash. They were all piled up in the middle of the room, various pieces of clothing that were big on Gregory. Lots of different plushies of the animatronic, magnets, posters, and figurines. His personal favourite was the Freddy merchs, especially a Freddy plushie.

Gregory pushed some aside and looked for the certain plushie he wanted. This plushie was special and he assumed it was very rare and exclusive. So Moon better be happy about this gift or else he will riot.

“Come on, where is it?” Gregory muttered, he tossed a Monty plushie behind him, uncaring where it landed. Gregory made contact with a sweater with stars on the sleeves, he made a questioning hum before shrugging and set it beside him to not lose it. He will give this to Moon as well. It was kind of like the sweater he gifted Sunrise, only with stars instead of suns printed on it.

“Ah Ha! Found it!” Gregory smiled and lifted the Golden Moon plushie in the air. He found multiple golden plushies stashed in odd places, like someone was trying to hide it to pick it up later but it was too late. Gregory already found it and took it for himself.

“Found what?”

Gregory yelped, startled he accidentally dropped the plushie. The Golden Moon plushie made a soft squeak as it collided with the ground, landing near a normal Sun plushie. Their hands touching each other.

Freddy had been outside the closet door. He didn’t want to ruin Gregory's privacy after the boy insisted on being alone in this closet. He waited patiently outside, only speaking when he heard the boy exclaim loudly. Luckily, his friends weren’t around and patrolling elsewhere.

“Freddy! You scared me!” Gregory huffed, crossing his arms and pouts. Freddy gave a small chuckle behind the closet door. “I’m sorry for startling you, I just wanted to check up on you. Mind telling me what you’re doing?”

Gregory rolled his eyes, he reached for the plushie and set it gently in the present. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a letter. It wasn’t really sealed, only folded in half. He put it on the side of the plushie.

“I’m alright, I'm making a present for someone.” Gregory replied, he grabs the sweater and sloppily folds it and stuffs it in the box. He closed the lid. Wait, he forgot something. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a bracelet and a candy. He grabs the bracelet he found in a woman's purse. It was a crescent moon, very pretty. It was sad he didn’t have a sun bracelet so Sunrise and Moon could match each other. Maybe another time.

He lifted the lid and stuffed the bracelet in and closed it shut again. He grinned triumphantly. He tilted his head at the candy. Funny, he doesn’t remember putting this into his pocket. It was a Sundrop candy. Without hesitation, Gregory opens the wrapper and shoves the candy into his mouth. It was really good.

“Oh? You’re making a present?” Freddy sounded curious “Who is it for?” He asked, but he didn't make an attempt to open the door.

Gregory grunted as he attempted to get up from the floor. He held the present with one arm. “It’s for… Moon” He muttered the last part.

“What? It’s for Moon? Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Freddy questioned, you can hear the concern in his voice. He gently knocked on the door. “I mean, I am not against giving a gift to Moon but I don’t like the idea of giving this to Moon personally, Gregory. I fear for your safety.”

Gregory sighs, he opens the door. He sees Freddy looking down at him with a worried expression. “Don’t worry. I’m just going to give the present to Sunrise and hope that Moon will be able to accept it from him.”

“What if Moon doesn’t accept it? Moon might take this the wrong way. He is unpredictable.” Freddy said. Gregory shrugs, he held the present to his chest.

“I felt the need to give Moon a present… He deserves to get a gift just like I gave Sunrise one. ” Gregory spoke, he nervously looked away. He walked forward and closed the closet door behind him.

“You gave Sunrise a gift?” Freddy sounded surprised, he tilted his head, his ears wiggling cutely. Gregory gave a small laugh, he sheepishly replied “Y-yeah… I felt guilty for breaking the single rule Sunrise gave me. So I thought I'd give him a gift to forgive me.”

Gregory avoided Freddy's gaze, the poster of Roxy seems interesting all of the sudden. He heard Freddy move closer to him and flinched when he felt a hand touch his head.

“Besides, I don’t want Moon to think he was left out. Even if he is basically hunting me down every hour.” He muttered

“I’m so proud of you!” Gregory snapped up, surprised. Seeing Gregory's reaction, Freddy smiled and gave him a thumbs up. “I’m glad you gave a Sunrise apology gift, I am positive that Sunrise forgives you already!” Freddy gave a comforting smile, his ears wiggling as he nodded. “And I am not certain about Moon but maybe he will appreciate the gift nonetheless. We love receiving gifts from little ones.”

Gregory smiles, his cheeks suddenly feeling warm.

“I’ll support you if you wish to give this to Moon…” Freddy smiles and makes a gesture to move to the general area of the daycare. “Let’s go together okay?”

Gregory grins and nods. “Let’s go!”

Sunrise tried not to feel so depressed, his mission was a failure and he couldn’t find where his new friend went. This place was too big and he didn’t know the mapping of the establishment. He never went outside the daycare before and didn’t bother to try. He was afraid of the other animatronics, afraid of what they would think of him. He heard the parents of the children he cares for calls him. Annoying, creepy, a freak and even more words that weren’t appropriate.

Moon was the only one who knew the place since he was the only one who patrols. Not him, he wasn’t built for patrolling or fighting.His only job was being in the daycare and Sunrise didn’t mind that. Moon wasn’t available to help guide him, something was wrong with him and Sunrise didn't know how to help him. He begged Moon how to fix him but he was silent.

Sunrise closed the gates and slumps against it. He pouts and crosses his arms. He was disappointed. He really wanted to play with his new friend! They could’ve played lots of games together. He regrets banning his little friend, but rules are rules.

“Maybe I could’ve put him in timeout instead of banning him.” Sunrise said out loud, he slapped his forehead and groaned. “Why didn’t I just put him in time out!!” He cried out.

Sunrise sighs, he angrily stomps towards the ball pit. He was annoyed at himself for not doing that. He got ready to jump into his room but stopped when he heard the gate of the daycare open. Gasping, Sunrise quickly jumped into the ball pit and ran to the slide. He hopes it was his friend! He needs to apologize for banning him!

Sunrise felt like giggling, he was happy that his friend visited him again! Maybe now they can play all night and play with glitter blue and googly eyes!! Oh he loves googly eyes! Sunrise got ready to go up the slide but stopped himself when he heard more than one voice. His friend wasn’t alone! Should he go greet them both? Maybe they are here to play?!

He heard the sound of someone climbing into the slide and quickly dived into the pit wanting to surprise his friend. Maybe he brought another friend! More the merrier!

Sunrise resisted giggling out loud and waited for the sound of a body to fall into the ball pit. Sure enough, it was his new friend!! Sunrise felt giddy, he wanted to jump out right there and now but he must wait!

“Sunrise?” Gregory stuttered out, he struggled to walk through the pit. Sunrise can see him glancing at his baloney. Like waiting for him to jump down like how they first met. Stalking close to his prey like a shark in water, Sunrise burst out of the pit and snatched his friend from his armpits and lifted him into the air.

“You came back!! I’m so happy that you are here, friend!” Sunrise yelled out, happily laughing and twirling him around.

Gregory screamed and accidentally kicked Sunrise in the chest. Sunrise gave a small “Oof”, he lost his grasp on Gregory and they both fell into the ball pit.

Sunrise grinned before bursting into the surface, the balls making noise with each movement they made. Sunrise laughs when he sees his friend gasp out like he was running out of breath. His friend glared at him. “What was that for?!” He demanded.

Sunrise felt his grin falter. “I’m sorry, friend, for startling you. I was just happy to see you again!! I tried to come find you but got lost!”

Sunrise nervously laughs, rubbing the back of his neck. He shrugs but stands up, towering over the boy. Gregory had to lean back just to see his face.

“You tried to come find me? Why?” Gregory asked, he struggled to get up. He felt hands help him stand up straight before Gregory shoved him away. Sunrise backs away respectfully. Gregory can see him swaying, the sound of his bells on his wrist can be heard with each movement.

“I received your wonderful and thoughtful gift! See, I am even wearing the new sweater you gave me! Though I have to take it off before the doors open so the other children don’t stain it.” Sunrise spoke happily. He lifted his arms in the air and Gregory could see that Sunrise was wearing the sweater he gave him. It fits perfectly with Sunrise height and the puffy sleeves matched his theme.

Gregory smiled, “Does that mean you forgive me for breaking your rule?” He asked.

Sunrise nods frantically, Gregory was afraid that his neck would snap.

“Of course! I even got your letter and drawing! You are a very good artist friend! I’ll even hang it on my wall!”

Gregory was blushing, he looked away and shyly played with his fingers. “It’s nothing… I felt bad for breaking your rule. I wanted to apologize to you before but you kept me away before I could even speak.” He said.

Sunrise didn’t respond, Gregory peaked a look and saw the animatronic slump forward. It didn’t match Sunrise's personality to seem so sad and gloomy. “Are you okay?” He nervously asked, unsure what to do if the usually happy and energetic animatronic gets sad and silent. It felt wrong.

Sunrise whines, before wrapping his arms around the boy and hugging him. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to push you away! Don’t worry, I forgive you and you’re officially unbanned from the daycare!” He cried out.

Gregory let out a “oof” when he felt Sunrise wrap his arms around him again. Surprisingly the hug was warm, Sunrise wasn’t cold like he expected. He wrapped his own arms around Sunrise and patted his back.

“It’s really no big deal, it was my fault that I broke a rule.”

He felt Sunrise shake his head. “Hey, I mean it, it’s not your fault.” Sunrise pouts, but didn’t say anything. He gently held Gregory in his arms and walked out of the ball pit. “

Gregory cried out “Wait! I forgot something!” He struggled out of the hold and Sunrise gently put him to the ground and watched as Gregory ran back into the ball pit and near the slide that he entered from.

He watched with curiosity as Gregory looked through the balls and pulled out a present box. He must have dropped it when he surprised him. He was getting another gift! Sunrise grins happily and clapped his hands together. He waited patiently for the boy to come back.

“Is that for me! You shouldn’t have!” Sunrise said. He sways back and forth with happiness in his eyes and clasps his hands together. Gregory looked at him with an expression but shook his head and held the present close to his chest.

“This is for…. Moon actually.” He muttered, he looked away. He didn’t want to see the Sunrise expression at the fact the gift was for Moon, after all, Sunrise was afraid of Moon from what he saw.

Sunrise stilled, his smile frozen. He felt like his mind went blank and what he felt like he short-circuit.This gift was for Moon? Why would his new friend want to give a present to Moon? Not that he was against it but didn’t Moon hurt him?

Sunrise gave a fake chuckle, his smile suddenly faked. He had a worried look in his eyes. “What do you mean this is for Moon? He isn’t available unfortunately so you cannot see him at the moment!” Sunrise saids, his voice sounded happy but faked.

Gregory sighs, “I know, but I was wondering if you can give this to him whenever?” He says. He held the gift to Sunrise, hoping he would take it.

Sunrise hesitantly took the present, he stared at the box. “ Do you really forgive him for hurting you?” He tilted his head, looking at him with an expression that Gregory can identify as worried.

Gregory hesitated but nodded. “I… forgive him. It’s not his fault that he was hurting me. I’m sure he is affected by whatever that is affecting the others.” He says, crossing his arms. He looked at the barrels that he used to knock down to distract Sunrise.

Sunrise tilted his head, his eyes held surprise “You mean…. Are the others similar to Moon? Are they…. Wrong?” He sounded desperate and sad. He looked at him for answers to why Moon was like this. Why Moon was… scary and more hostile?

Gregory nods, “Only Freddy was unaffected to whatever happened to them. You seemed to be unaffected as well.. I don’t know why.” Gregory eyes widen, he lifted his fazwatch and saw a message requesting to open the door. Multiple messages.

“Oh no! Freddy!” Gregory yells, he glanced at the gate and back to Sunrise. “Can you open the gate for Freddy?” He desperately asked. “Please?”

Sunrise nods, confused. “Was that who you were talking to?” He held the present under his arm and swiftly hoisted Gregory into his other arm, ignoring the protest. Gregory quickly slumps forward. With how tall Sunrise was, it didn’t take long to reach the door. Sunrise put the present on the counter beside the security desk and pushed the button to unlock the door.

He was still holding Gregory when Freddy opened the door, looking worried. When he saw Gregory looking safe and secured in Sunrise arms, he relaxed and sighs in relief.

“Goodness, you had me worried Gregory! You didn’t respond to me for quite some time. You said you were going to open the gate the moment you went in.” Freddy gently scolded Gregory. Gregory sheepishly laughs, he shrugs.

“I’m afraid that might be my fault, friend.” Sunrise said, he gently held Gregory to the other animatronic. Freddy smiled and took the boy into his own arms. Gregory was pouting about being held like a toddler but he didn’t struggle. Sunrise knew he liked being held.

“I distracted him from opening the door! I didn’t mean it!” Sunrise says, he nervously shuffled his feet. Freddy shook his head, he smiled at Sunrise with such gentle eyes.
“It’s alright, I knew you would keep him safe from harm Sunris- “ “Sunny.” “-Pardon?” Freddy blinked.

Sunrise smiled and chuckled. He twirled his torso around and gave him a wink “Call me Sunny! My friends call me Sunny because it’s easier!” He gave a thumbs up to Gregory.

Freddy chuckles and Gregory grins. “Of course Sunny” Sunny beams

“So did you get the present?” Freddy asked. Sunny nods and points to his right. The present was still on the counter.

“Do you think Moon will like it?” Gregory asked. Sunny faltered, he didn’t know how to respond because he didn't know. If Gregory said what is true then the present won’t work, it won’t stop him.

Sunny shrugs, he looked stricken with grief. “If you said what was true, then I don’t know If Moony will love the gift.” He said honestly. He looked away from them and saw a plushie of Moony on the ground.

“I hope he won’t be affected by this forever.. I miss him.” Sunny whispers, he hugged himself and if he was human, he would be crying. He missed the sarcastic comments Moony would give out in their shared mind whenever they talked to a rude parent, he misses the bickering they have daily. He hopes that they can fix him.

“I think it might do something with Vanny… We need to find her and stop her! Maybe that way, everyone will be back to normal!” Gregory exclaimed. He looked at Sunny with hope. “Maybe you can help us!

Sunny shook his head. “I cannot leave the daycare anymore! It’s too dark to freely roam, I had trouble just looking for you. I don’t want to risk Moony coming out early…” He said. “Besides, the hour is almost up. It’s best you both leave. I’ll give the gift to Moony once you free them.. Okay?” Sunny gently patted Gregory's head.

Gregory looked crestfallen. “Why won’t you give it to him now?” He asked. Freddy rubbed his back.

Sunny looked at him with a sad smile “Because I want the real Moony to enjoy your gift, my friend.”

Freddy sadly sighs and nods. “I’m afraid Sunny is right, Gregory. We have to leave and am sure Sunny will gladly give Moon your gift once we free our friends.”

Gregory looked at them with sadness. “Hey” Gregory looked at Sunny,

Sunny gave him a smile, “I’m sure you are gonna do great! I know you can do it my starlight '' He said and booped his nose.

“I know for a fact that Moony will love your gift. Maybe come back again when you turn everything back to normal.. Okay?” Gregory sniffles, but nods. Sunny smiles “Now please, give me a smile, my starlight.”

Gregory gave him a smile. Sunrise grins “There's the amazing smile!” Gregory laughs. Freddy grins and chuckles.

“Don’t worry Sunny, I will free everyone and come back. Maybe we can play like you wanted” He says, wiping away his tears. Sunny nods and claps his hands once.

“I look forward to it.” He really does look forward to their next meeting. Maybe Gregory can meet the real Moony. Sunrise waves as Gregory and Freddy close the gates. Sunny looked at the present and took it into his arms.

“You got a gift, Moony.” He whispers, holding the gift into his chest, “I'm sure you’ll treasure it like I treasure mine.” He says but no one responds. He was alone for the rest of the night.

~~Itaclic are memories~~

It has reached closing hours, so it was Sunrise's job to help children find their respected parents. It was a slow process because he has to help one by one just to make sure that he doesn’t mistake a stranger as a parent for one of his little ones. It almost happened before so they installed a program to scan each adult that comes forward to pick up a child. Luckily, Moon caught on before Sunrise could hand the child over to the stranger, so it was a close call.

Sunrise took the last child into his arms before the little one could scurry off back into the play structure. The child giggles and lifts their grimy hands to Sunrise face, covering their face with germs and spit. Sunrise hid his grimace by smiling down at the little one.

“Let’s find your mama or papa, shall we?”  Sunrise gently boops the littles nose, earning another cute giggle. It was hard to be upset at this little one, they were so cute with their big dooey eyes.

Sunrise scans the crowd, wishing they were gone since they have their children but staying behind to chat with other parents. It was making it hard to find this last child parent since the respected parent wasn’t coming forward, making the job a lot harder than it needs to be.

By the mens bathroom doors, he found a man leaning against the wall, talking on the phone. Sunrise quickly scans him and finds a match with the little one ticket number. He quickly darted around the parents and walked up to the father. Sunrise grinned but it faded when he noticed the expression on the fathers face. Looks like he is arguing on the phone. Sunrise bit back a sigh, not wanting this conversation he knew was going to happen when a parent is angry. They tend to take their anger out on him.

The father's expression went sour when he noticed Sunrise approaching with his child in his arms. He abruptly ended the call and roughly snatched the little one from his grasp. The child whines, reaching out to Sunrise. Sunrise looked uncertain.

“Please be gentle!” He hesitantly lifted his hands in front of him. He winces when the father gives him a disgusted look. “Don’t tell me how to treat my child, you piece of junk!” He storms out giving Sunrise a rude gesture.

Sunrise twitches, he held his hands together and abruptly went to his gate. The neverending chatter by the parents and the screams of the children were overwhelming him and he needed to get away from all that. Let them stand outside the gates, it wasn’t his problem anymore, let the security guards guide them out. Sunrise ignored the stares and slammed the giant gates. He leaned against the gate and sighs.

‘Bad day?’

Sunrise yelped, he slammed the back of his head on the gate. Wincing, he gently rubbed the area. Luckily, none of the wires were damaged.

Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you.’

Sunrise sighs, and nods. He leaned against the gate and closed his eyes. He felt Moon move a bit closer until he could feel Moon phantom hands holding his own. Without hesitation, Sunny grasped Moony hand, taking in the comfort Moony was giving him.

This was one thing they didn’t know how to explain. They can somehow feel each other's presence and interact with each other even though they know it shouldn’t be possible. The one who takes control cannot physically see the other but they can feel the ghostly touch. This was how it was when they were both first online, and it’s going to keep like this until the end. They didn’t tell Parts & Service about this because they didn’t want to lose this. This was their secret.

Moon gave a sigh, he tightened his hold. ‘ May I? ’ He asked.

Sunrise didn’t trust his voice to work properly but gave Moony a nod, giving him permission. He kept his eyes closed and leaned forward, waiting. Moon copied his movement, their forehead touching each other. Moon took a moment before he entered Sunrise memories of today while Moon was resting for his nightly patrol.  Sunrise didn’t fight the prickly feeling and completely let his guard down. He trusts Moony, Moon wouldn’t hurt him purposely.

He waited patiently for the prickly feeling to leave his systems before Moon exited it.

Oh, Sunny… ’

It was another troublemaker child who refused to listen. The little rule breaker was constantly disturbing the other children, making most of them cry, being a bully, making messes and throwing tantrums when things didn’t go their way. There was nothing Sunrise could do to handle this one child and it was stressing him out. To make things even worse for Sunrise was that the child had a Karen for a parent. There was nothing Sunrise could do because Karen paid a monthly subscription that cost a lot. So he couldn’t ban the child.

Moon took his hands back and wrapped his arms around Sunrise, tucking his head into his shoulders. Sunrise melted into the hug, wrapping his own arms around Moon despite it looking weird from outsiders' views. They saw him as a weirdo anyways.

Let me out, I’ll deal with the mess left behind. I want you to rest for the night, alright? ’ Moon gently said, pulling away. Sunrise didn’t respond but nodded. He quickly walked towards the security desk and flipped the lightswitch. Making the entire daycare dark.

Sunrise and Moon could briefly hear the commotion outside but they ignored it. Sunrise felt the switch happening and before he knew it, he was staring at Moony's face. Sunrise lifted his hands and sighs in relief. He can feel the stress leave already.

Moon can hear the frantic knocking on the doors. “Don’t worry, Sunny. I’ll handle the security guards. They won’t turn on the lights.” Sunrise smiles, closing his eyes and feeling himself go into recharge.

‘Thank you’

“Anything for you, Sunny”

There was tension in the air, Sunrise realized. Like something bad was happening, something terrible. He can feel his joints stiffening from the overwhelming anxiety, making him unable to do his usual routine. Not like he can do anything anyways, he already finished his daily chores.

Usually, by this time; it was Moon's turn to freely roam the daycare but since the corruption happened, the lights were on until further notice. Although, it didn’t stop the hourly power outage, so Sunrise had to painfully shift control each hour and be shoved away by Moon. So he didn’t know what Moon did during the few minutes of power being turned off. He always wakes up by the gates in the daycare and thinks nothing of it. Or he refuses to think too much about it, he doesn't want to know what Moon does during those few minutes of the whole facility turning off to power those recharge stations. So Sunrise had to painfully endure the switch each time the power went off alone and scared.

He didn’t like to sit here and do nothing while something bad was happening. He was alone to deal with this, he didn’t have Moony to go for comfort or depend on him to figure out what to do. He was completely alone for the first time since the daycare was opened.

His only best option was to stay in the daycare where the lights are on. It was a huge risk to go out when most of the establishment is dark and dim, not enough places where he can actually visit without accidentally bringing out Moon. He doesn’t want to mentally fight for control anymore and it hurts to shift. It never hurt this bad before. Was it part of the glitch that made it hurt to shift now? Will it be like that forever now?

Sunrise doesn’t want it to hurt, he wants to give Moon a chance to roam around.. but with the state of Moon now, Sunrise has no choice but to keep him contained until Gregory and Freddy figure out how to free them. Free him.

Sunrise didn’t know the exact time Moon was corrupted by this glitch-virus but it had to be very recently. A time where Sunrise wasn’t present, like patrolling.

He only noticed something was wrong when the daycare opened and Sunrise hadn’t heard a single word from Moon through-out the day. When it was close to naptime, he begged for a response but Moon never responded and it scared Sunrise. Moon never ignored him, ever, even if they somehow managed to get into an argument, Moon never ignores him.  So he kept begging for a response when the children were out of hearing range.

When it was naptime, Sunrise shrieked in pain as the lights turned off and he felt nothing but pure pain as something shifted and he was shoved out of the way and blocked from viewing what was going on. The last thing he heard was a raspy cackle that was unfamiliar. He was shoved out into a black void, blocked from communicating to Moony.

 Confused and worried, Sunrise kept begging to be let out and kept talking to himself hoping that Moon was listening to him. What did he do wrong? He is sorry if he did something bad to offend him , please forgive him, please talk to him PLEASe!

Naptime only lasted about 10 minutes before the lights were turned on. Sunrise opened his eyes to see  terrified children cowering behind the security guards. All crying and staring at him with such fear in their eyes. The security guards, doing their jobs for once; clutching their stunstick and watching him with horror in their eyes. They station themselves between the children, making sure that they will be protected if Sunrise were to attack.

‘Oh Moony…. What did you do?’ Sunrise remembers thinking.

It was naptime, the only time where Moony can freely come out and interact with the little ones, while Sunny can take his hourly break. As much as he loves playing with the children, he needs to take a breather away from all the noise and screams. Someplace where he can relax even just for a second.

While normally he would take his recharge until naptime hour was over, he oftens likes to sneak in and listen to Moony sing his favourite lullaby. Sunny loves hearing Moony soft and gentle voice, making it soothing to the ears and makes you feel safe in his presence. Enough for Sunny to relax after a hard day at work.

“Shouldn’t you be resting?” Of course Moony was about to detect him right away, no matter how much Sunny tries to hide his presence, Moony will always know if he was lingering.

I couldn’t help but listen in …’ Sunny pouts, crossing his arms. He carefully steps around the sleeping children surrounding Moon. He knew he couldn't really hurt the children if he happens to mis-step but it was a habit. Sunny sat down near Moony, brushing their shoulders together. Moon head turned to where he was sitting.

In his lap was a little boy with a Moon plushie, indicating who was his favourite.The boy was smiling in his sleep.

“You always hear me singing, what makes this any different?” Moon asked. Sunny smiles softly, he looks at Moon with adoration even if the other couldn’t physically see him.

Moon doesn’t realize how different he acts towards the children compared to when he is alone. It was a rare sight to see and Sunny feels lucky to witness this moment, and he wouldn’t tell Moon, afraid that Moon will stop if he were to be aware. Moon tends to act like he wasn’t soft and cuddly looking, he wanted to be seen as badass or something like that. He acts like that to adults but not the children.

Sunny huffs and brought his knees to his chest and wrapped his arms around them. ‘ Can’t help it, it’s refreshing to listen in, no matter when… Besides, I like hearing you sing..’

Moon shakes his head, “You should still be recharging, I don’t want you to lose any more battery before the end of the day. I don’t want to hear you whining about being tired.”  Sunny pouts, he leaned towards Moony, resting his head on his shoulders, his sunbeams gearing inwards to not accidentally break it. Not that it matters honestly.

My battery is fine, close to 60 percent. It should be good enough before closing.’ Sunny said, he softly smiled at the little boy in Moony lap. The child smiled in their sleep and clutched their plush tighter to their chest.

Moon shook his head, “Suit yourself, just don’t overdo it today. Our models aren’t new anymore, we are old.”  Sunny nods and sighs, ‘ Yeah, I know.. I wish we can request an upgrade..’

At least a small update…” Moon mutters, he rested his hand on the boy's head, gently patting their head, careful of the strand of hair that might get tangled between their fingers. Sunny hums, closing his eyes.

Do you think they will grant my request for more glitter glue?’ He asked. Moon snorts in amusement. “What’s with you and glitter glue?”

Sunny opens his eyes and bolts up and faces himself in front of Moony. Moony looked startled at the sudden movement. Sunny slammed his hands on the ground and leaned forward. ‘ Glitter glue is the most amazing invention of all time! It tastes amazing too! How can you not love glitter glue?!’

Moon sighs in relief, and shakes his head. ‘ Not to mention they bought the wrong thing the last time! It was all googly eyes!’ Sunny cried, he carefully reached out and wrapped his arms around Moony's shoulders. He ignored Moon ‘Careful!’

What am I going to do with 4 boxes of googly eyes without glitter glue?!’

“We have regular glue, Sunny.”

It’s not the same! There’s no sparkle to those plain ugly glue! Oh the horror!’

Moony laughs, his shoulders shaking. Sunny beams and pulled back. He stared at Moony's face with adoration.

“I don’t know, Sunny, but I know you can have fun with those boxes of googly eyes.. Just please don’t glue them on everything again.” Moon spoke, he smiles at the memory of waking up to seeing a bunch of googly eyes on every surface in the daycare. It took his entire patrolling hours just to take them off. Sunrise took the entire 2 boxes they had, so they didn’t have googly eyes until the next order which is in 2 weeks time. Not that any child uses it anyways.

Sunny mockingly gasps, he puts his hand on his chest and huffs ‘ Says you! Don’t think I forgot the time when you put googly eyes on the children’s faces when they were napping!’ Sunny gave him a deadpan look. When nap time was over, he woke up to children's eyes covered in googly eyes (not glued on, mind you) and he could hear Moon laughing in the background. It was honestly a miracle that none of the children moved once during their nap.

Moony wheezy laughter woke the children much to Sunny’s horror.

Sunrise chuckles at the memory, he gently held his hands together and swung his legs over the ledge of the balcony. He was amused and horrified at the sound Moony made during then, mostly because his wheezing laughter woke the children up during then and didn’t want to go back to bed. Sunrise knew that moment Moon was really overjoyed at the fact that he can play with the children even just for 20 minutes before the lights were to turn back on.

That was a memory he loves the most. Watching in the background as Moon and the children play hide and seek in the dark. Most of the children were regulars, so no one got hurt during this game since they also knew the place like the back of their hands.

Still, to this day, Moony refuses to admit that the wheezing came from him and refuses to talk to him whenever he mentions it. It was hilarious and Sunrise secretly kept that clip safe in his files where Moony won’t be about to find it. For blackmail purposes…shhh

On Sunday, the Parts and Service people will finally see what is wrong with Moony and hope to fix the problem. Sunrise wanted to yell at the workers now, why can’t they fix him right now! Why do they have to wait so long just for Moony to be fixed?!  Does Sunrise really have to suffer the pain of switching each hour until it is Sunday? It wasn’t fair that they have to wait while the others can just request and they get fixed right away.

Sunrise wanted to scream and throw things around. He wants his Moony back!

Since Sunrise himself was fully functional and not broken like Moon was, the daycare will once again open tomorrow. Sunrise looks at the list for tomorrow and notices a certain brat coming in, much to his pleasure. He didn’t really want to look like cranky kids whenever naptime was skipped over and he cannot for the life of him, put them to sleep. The lights in the daycare were bright and he doesn’t blame the children for not wanting to sleep with the lights on.

Sunrise clutched his puffy pants, he can feel his joints protesting against the tightening hold but he doesn’t care.

Whenever there were troublemakers in their daycare and it was too much for Sunrise to handle, Moon always had a solution on getting rid of them. How you may ask? Well…. It was by scaring them from coming back. Sunrise didn’t approve of this solution since it came with complaints from the parents but it did work. The troublemakers never come back.

Moon was aware of the risk of scaring the troublemakers but in the end it was all worth it. By looking at the smiles of the other children and the look of relief on Sunrise's face whenever the troublemakers were absent. Besides, the children had his back and protected Moon from being decommissioned. They all said the same thing and denied that Moon was scary and didn’t intentionally scare them. He was kind and sang them lullabies. Moon loved his kids.

Sunrise couldn’t stay mad whenever Moon scared off those brats.

‘Hey Moony …’ Sunny hestiatedly asked. Moony was sitting on top of the play structures, keeping watch on the sleeping children below him. He made sure to scan every sleeping figure snuggled in their blankets to make sure that he wasn’t missing a child. He hummed in satisfaction; every child was sleeping.

“What is it?” Moon replies, he glances to the side and watches the adults sitting outside the daycare. All quietly chatting to each other and others playing on their phones. They were at least quiet and obeying the rules during naptime.

Sunny sighs, he brushed against Moony. “Is something wrong?” Moony asked, he turned to where Sunny was touching him. Sunny glances at the fake moon by their balcony.

Do you think we can ever leave? ’ He asked, and he waited for the negative response. Moony tilts his head. “You mean outside the daycare? We  can leave the daycare if we want to.” He replies, but he knew Sunny was asking something else. He was asking the same questions Moony couldn’t answer.

‘You know what I mean…’

Moony sighs, “You know we cannot leave this facility, Sunny. You know that…”

Sunny looked down sadly. ‘ I know… But I just want to see the real moon, I want to see the real sun. Not just from pictures .’ He sounded dazed, he was filled with such envy and hope. It was pointless. They were animatronics, they were property.

Moony didn’t say anything, he looked sad.

I want to feel the sun’s heat on our faces, I want to see the stars sparkle in the full moon sky .’ Sunny dreamily says. He was watching the fake stars and Moon. Moony didn’t look at the fakeness of the moon and stars, he only stared at the sleeping children below him.

“I’m sorry Sunny. I’m so sorry.”

Sunny bitterly smiled ‘ I’m sorry too.’

It's funny how they can never see the two things they were based off of. Sunrise will never see the sun and Moon will never see the moon. It's quite hilarious isn’t it? Even though Sunrise will never really know how the sun’s heat will feel on their face since they are machines, it doesn’t really hurt to pretend that they aren’t human.

Sooner or later, they will both be thrown in the trash and forgotten, maybe even replaced with a better Sunrise and Moon. They don’t have the special privilege the Glamrocks have, they were replaceable.

Sunrise sighs, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. He  mentally counted the amount of yellow balls he saw, whenever he lost count, he would count different colours.

“Moony?” Sunrise whispers out. It was pointless to even try but Sunrise still hopes that somewhere inside, Moony was still there. “I miss you”

Sunrise wishes he can cry. “Our new friend might be able to fix you! Even Freddy is helping him, who knew that the main star would be so kind and helpful. I hope you can meet Freddy when you come back.”

“They are both trying to free the others as well! Did ya know that? Did ya? We can finally be together again and be the bestest of friends again. You like that right? Right? “ Sunrise held his hands to his face, covering his eyes from the overwhelming brightness of the daycare.

“I won’t ever complain to you ever again.. I-I won’t glue googly eyes on everything anymore! I promise! P-pinky promise!” Sunrise said, he clutched his sunbeams.

“I-I even ask to extend nap time so you can play with the children again! Don't you like that? Don’t ya?  You can p-play hide and seek again or, or play shadow puppet! The children once saw that and want you to do that! I-I know you’ll be amazing at it, Moony!” Sunrise chuckles, he tightening his hold on his sunbeams, ignoring the sharp pain as he felt bent. He smiles.

“The children have been asking to play with you more, y-you know? They don’t want to nap whenever you come out, you know that already… They just want to spend time with you. I know how n-naptime is important but they are really begging to play with you more. You know how I can’t really say no with those puppy eyes they have…”

“I’ll even ask Parts and service if they can even make your own body if you want to be away from me! Won’t you like that? W-wont you? I know I can be annoying sometimes or… all times but with your own body you don’t have to be so near me anymore and have your privacy!”

Sunrise closed his eyes and brought his legs to his chest and wrapped his arms around them. “Just please… Answer me” He whimpers.

“Please don’t leave me…”

‘I don’t think this is a good idea!’ Sunny nervously mutters, he watched as Moony crawled through the vents  and took multiple turns. It was confusing but he trusts that Moony won’t get them lost.

‘Relax, we are gonna be fine.” Moon made another turn. “Besides, you never really go out much”

‘Because it’s against the rules! They said so!’ Sunny shrieks when he notices a huge spider in front of them. Moony doesn’t seem bothered by it, only flickering it away and continuing crawling, brushing past the spiderwebs.

You just got us dirty, Moony! Ohhh, I knew we shouldn’t have left. It’s not even patrolling hours yet..’ Sunny mutters.

“It’s alright Sunny, the security guards don’t really care if we are roaming before patrolling hours.” Moony assured them. “I can clean ourselves before we recharge, okay?” Moon asked. Sunny hums, before he makes a noise of affirmation.

“Officer Vanessa is off today so this makes it even better.” He mutters.

‘How come you don’t like Officer Vanessa?’ Sunny asked, confused and curious. Moon growls and shakes his head. “There's just something about her I don’t like… I don’t want you near her at all. Okay Sunny?”

Sunny went to protest ‘ But…- “Please listen to me for once, Sunny.’ - … Alright, I won’t go near Officer Vanessa… But you know I might have no choice’

Moon nods. He looked through a vent opening and continued going. “As long as I am there with you, Just don’t touch her.. I don’t have a good feeling around her…”

Sunny nods, ‘Alright.. I trust you.’

Moon smiles “I’m glad… We are here” He gestures to an opening.

The doors should be automatically opened by now. Sunrise wouldn’t know since he doesn’t have a clock anymore. For some odd reason, it was gone. Another thing that he has to request to be fixed, hopefully Parts and Service will fix it if he asks.

He wonders if his new friend is going to leave when he gets to the doors. He assumes that was their original plan before it changed to helping them. Sunrise wouldn’t blame his little friend if they decided to leave. This seems like a huge burden to carry on their small shoulders. Sunrise can wait until mainstance day, even if he had to endure the pain. They all can wait until Parts and Service can come and repair everyone back to normal.

Secretly, Sunrise hopes that Gregory would stay behind and help them, even though it was selfish of him to think that. He is just a child. A child shouldn’t feel the need to help them in this mess of a situation.

Sunrise closes the folders holding each of his favourite memories. His treasured moments. It didn’t make him better like he thought it would, in fact, it did the complete opposite. It made him feel ten times worse as he misses his Moony even more. He misses their bickering, their goofy moments where Moon did something to make him happy, to laugh after a day gone bad.

Sunrise whines, he reaches out and grasps his dented sunbeams. This tension was getting to him. These memories might be the only things he has of Moony if the Parts and Service decides not to repair him. There was a high chance that they wouldn't bother. They have been neglected for years already and they desperately needed an update in their systems, it might be the reason why Moony was easy to fall to this glitch since their systems were supposed to be better than the Glamrocks. Yet they were neglected…

“No.. Don’t think that.. Moony will never leave me, he promised that we would stay together no matter what… No matter what…” Sunrise clutched his dented sunbeam harder and winced when he felt it break and wires began to spark.

He stared at the broken sunbeam in his hand and shakily laughed. “I’m sorry Moony…It looks like I did it again.”

He tossed the broken sunbeam behind him and didn’t care where it landed. He shoved the remaining memories deeper into his mind.

So there was really nothing he could do..

Sunrise glanced at his battery and noticed that it was on its last 2%. He forgot to charge himself this entire time. Sunrise sighs, he didn’t bother moving at all. He knows that his joints will freeze in place and he won’t have the risk of falling to the floor below him.

“Good night, Moony.” He closed his eyes and let his battery drain as he finally rested into his memories.

~~Time Skip~~

“Well shit… Even the Daycare Attendant is broken.” A worker spoke. He glances up at the balcony where the Daytime Attendant was sitting frozen in place. The Daytime Attendant looked peaceful, strangely. They had their arms wrapped around their legs, their head resting on their knees.

Another worker looks up “Maybe but I think they just forgot to recharge themselves.”

“Probably didn’t make it with all their overexcitement and yelling.” Another mutters, sniffling as they cross their arms in annoyance. She was never a fan of Sunrise. She hates them with passion and refuses to work with them. Today, she had no choice…

“Does it look like they are in a position that screams overexcitement? I think they were affected just as the rest and thought it was better to let themselves run out of battery than go berserk.” Another worker snaps before taking a deep breath. He puts his hand on his hips before glancing up at the frozen animatronic.

“Honestly, this might be a blessing because I really don’t want to deal with a loud Sunrise.”

“Let’s just go to work, I don’t want to be fired by the higher ups today. Besides, I have a birthday party to go to today.” The first worker spoke.

“Tell Lisa I said Hi.” The woman said.

~~~
Sunrise slowly started to wake up, something was telling him to wake up. Sunrise whines, clutching his eyes shut as he desperately wants to sleep some more, wanting to stay within his memories.
‘Sunny?’
Sunrise snapped open his eyes, bolting upwards from where he was laying on.
“MOONY!” He screams in enjoyment. He couldn’t believe it! Moony was back! He was talking to him! Sunrise laughs, wrapping his arms around himself, pretending that he was hugging Moony.
“You’re back! You came back!” Sunrise shrieks, grinning widely as he gets on his feet and twirling around. He can feel Moony amusement over their shared link as he chuckles.
I’m back’ He replies, smiling gently at Sunny's antics. ‘ And I won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.’
Sunrise laughs, “Oh, how I missed you! I missed you so much, Moony!”
Moon softly laughs. ‘ I know, Sunny… I’m sorry’ He apologized. Sunrise shakes his head, still smiling but something was blocking his vision. He blinked, reached out to wipe his eyes.
“What’s this?” Sunrise asked, his fingers were wet.. “Oh no! I’m I malfunctioning!? But I just got you back!! Noooo!” He shrieks, rapidly wiping away the liquid pouring out of his eyes. It won’t go away!
‘Sunny! It’s okay! Calm down!’ Moony tried to calm him but Sunrise couldn’t hear him.
Sunrise clutched his newly fixed sunbeams “no no no no no! Please! I just got you back! I can’t lose you again! Please… I’m not broken. I’m not broken..”
No matter how many times he wipes away the liquid coming out of his eyes, it couldn’t go away! They are going to scrap them! He ruined it for the both of them! What is he going to do! He doesn’t want to be scrapped, not when he just finally got Moon back after so long.
Sunrise fell to his knees, continuing to wipe away this strange liquid. It was odd that he wasn’t getting any warning signs about this like how it usually does.
‘Sunny! Calm down! It’s okay!’  Moon comforted him. Sunrise shakes his head, he sniffles. “How is this normal?! I’m leaking! We are broken already and I just got you b-back!” He sobs before covering his eyes with his hands. His entire body was shaking and it felt like he was having difficulty breathing even though he didn’t really need to breathe so why does he feel like this?
Oh boy… You’re not taking this well… I knew this was a bad idea…’ Moon mutters, before he reaches out and wraps his arms around Sunny. He leaned in close.
Sunrise briefly looked up, confused. He sniffles “W-what?”
Moon chuckles, he tightened his hold before answering ‘ You’re not broken, Sunny. You weren’t broken to begin with.’
“I’m… Not broken? But why am I leaking?” Sunrise asked, he blinked, sniffling. Wait.. He was sobbing… Sunrise wiped away the liquid and stared at the clear water in his fingers. It’s not oil or something.. He blinks.. He blinks again. Again.
Sunrise jumped to his feet. HE CAN BLINK! What?! Sunrise sniffs, he wiped away his..tears? Before he reached out and touched his eyes. He squinted and felt his eyelids, he never had these before!
He heard Moon laughing ‘I see you figured it out.’
“I have eyelids? I can cry? Moony, what's going on?!” Sunrise asked, he can feel his mouth moving.
It’s official! We can now have facial expressions, among other things. We no longer have to pretend that we have facial movement.’ Moon said, feeling quite happy. ‘They didn’t just repair me, they finally gave us upgrades and a better firewall to prevent that from happening again.’
Sunrise laughed, he got up from the floor and jumped around “Does that mean we linger look scary to kids?! We really don’t have to pretend that we aren’t scary!”
Moon snorts, shaking his head ‘ We don’t have to pretend anymore. Now, new children will longer cry at the sight of us.’
Sunrise leaps in joy, raising his hands in the air. He laughs in enjoyment “Yay! We can make even more friends! Look at my hands!” He’s thrilled at his fingers. His fingers were now protected so that no children would hurt themselves if they happened to point. He can no longer be wary of running his fingers through children's hair, he can finally braid hairs! Oh this was the best day of his life!
He brought his hands to his mouth and felt it move as he grinned. He stuck out his tongue “gook I gan evne sticg my tongggn ouut!” He heard Moony laugh ‘ Quit that or it might get stuck like that!’
Sunrise put his hands on his hips, winking and keeping his tongue out “Nuh Uh! That’s just what parents say to make a child stop!”
Well, you’re not a child are you?’ “ I can be a child at heart!”
Moon huffs, his smile giving away what he was really feeling. Of course Sunny couldn’t actually see it. ‘ Of course you're a child, you’re a crybaby.’
Sunrise gasped, he crossed his arms and stomped his foot. “I am not a crybaby!”
Could’ve fooled me!’ Moon whistled, snickering.
“I’m not a crybaby! No!”
‘Yes you are! I don’t get why they would give us the ability to cry when you are filled with anxiety. This is not a good combination.’
“I dont have anxiety…”
‘Don't even try to deny it, Sunny…’ Moon flat out said, giving Sunny a deadpan look. Sunrise rolls his eyes before plugging his ‘ears’. Only he doesn’t have any ears. He shut his eyes.
“Nah  nah nah nah nah I can’t hear you!”
‘You can’t block me out Sunny, I can talk to you through our mind..’
“Blah blah blah”
‘Real mature Sunny.’
“Sorry, I don’t talk to meanies”
‘I'm not mean if it’s true. Besides, you don’t have any ears.’ Moon says amused.
Sunrise pouts, crossing his arms. Moon moves a little closer before pulling him to a certain area. ‘ Don’t you want to explore our newly cleaned room?’ Moon says.
Sunrise smiles, he finally glances on where he was. He blinks, this was a… new room? He doesn’t remember this room. He looked for an exit and noticed the round hole in the wall. That seems familiar… Is this their room?
“Wait… The hole is bigger.” He says, mostly to himself before peering through it. It showed their room. “Is this our room?!” Sunrise squeaks before turning around. “Then that means this is your room, Moony!”
Everything in this room had a moon symbol and in the middle of the room was a bed filled with fluffy pillows. The ceiling held stars and little clouds. (again imagine what you think Moon’s room would be, I can’t describe shit.. Sis if you are reading this… Screw your teasing) It felt really peaceful and calm, like Moony.
“No longer a messy room or broken bots that employees stash in here!” Sunrise stares in amazement and happiness. “Does that mean we can open our room to the public?” Sunrise was worried for a bit because he knew the small children wouldn't be able to keep this room clean. This was their room.. THEIR room and no one else is allowed to come in.
No Sunny… This is our space… No one else is allowed unless we give them permission.’ Moon assured him. Moon gently pulled him to the hole in the wall. ‘ Don’t you want to see your own room?’
Not really, Sunrise wanted to stay in here where it was calming and soothing. But he let himself get pulled to the hole. Sunrise bent down to crawl through the hole before staring in amazement at his own room.
(Use your imagination lmao, sis I hate you… lol, don’t you dare come to my room to tease me… imma die in embarrassment.. she bullies me, send help ;( i love you sis~)
Sunrise felt a prickling feel at the side of his eyes, sniffling he gently wiped away the tear before it could fall. He sighs, putting his hand on his chest. His eyes caught something on one of the counters. He tilts his head before walking up to it. It was a small mirror.
Curious about what he looks like now, since they have been upgraded to look more friendlier and approachable, he grabs the mirror and lifts it up. He softly gasped, leaning close. He lifted his fingers and touched his newly upgraded face.
He really did look like his posters now. He had pupils for once, no longer it was faded and pure white. He had blue sapphire eyes, the same colour as the blue sky. He opened his mouth and had white teeth along with a yellow tongue. Not the colour he was expecting because the little ones had red, pink tongue. Oh well.
He smiled, his mouth stretching to make a smile. He laughs. He spun his head around, at least he can still spin his head around.
Moon gently put his head on his shoulders. ‘ Admiring yourself,, huh.?’  Moon said, smiling.
Sunrise nods, grinning. He puts the mirror down. “You want to see yourself?” He asked, he walked up to the lightswitch by the door.
Moon shakes his head but physically stops Sunny since he can’t see him. ‘I already saw myself. How else would you wake up in my bed?’
Sunrise stopped. He frowns. “You already.. You woke up before me?”
Moon tilted his head. ‘They turned you off while they were fixing me. They didn’t want you to make things difficult.’
“Oh… “ ‘Look, it was better that you were sleeping. Look on the bright side, I get to surprise you.' Moony softly says, he reached out and grabbed Sunny's hand.
Sunrise held his hand, smiling gently. "I guess… but I wanted to be awake to see you free from.. whatever corrupted you."
He turned towards where he assumed Moony's head would be. He tilted his head. "Did they ever figure out what was wrong with you?"
Moon shakes his head before saying out loud ' No one knows where this virus came from. They assume it was from someone who broke in during the night.'
Then Sunrise realized something. "Vanny…?"
Moon looked surprised before frowning. ' Vanny? Who's Vanny?'
Sunrise tightens his hold, he frowns "They said she was behind all this. They didn't catch Vanny? Does that mean she will come back for us!" Sunrise let go of his hand before grabbing his sunbeams and shutting his eyes.
Moon gently stopped his hands before taking them into his own, stopping him from damaging it.
' Calm down. Yes they didn't catch anyone but this won't happen again. I Promise . If this Vanny person dares come back I won't hesitate.' Moon assures him. ' And what do you mean 'they' said? You told you Vanny was behind all of this?'
Sunrise shakes his head, he tries to pull away but Moon doesn't let him. ' Sunny, who told you?'
Sunrise hesitated before answering "My new f-friend…"
'Sunny' Moon sternly said. Sunrise sighs. "G-gregory.Gregory…”
You mean the boy who sneaks in?’ Moon sounded surprised before guilty. Sunrise immediately pulled Moon's hands to his chest. “It’s not your fault!” He blunts out.
Moon sighs, ‘ Doesn’t make it any better but the boy was very brave for pushing forward when most of us were trying to kill him.’
Sunrise splutter “K-kill?!”
O-ohh.. I assume you knew what was going on.’
Sunrise shakes his head, he panickedly looked towards the balcony. “I-i knew some of it! But not trying to k-k-kill Gregory!” He shrieks. He reached, out of habit, to grab his sunbeams “A-and I threw him out of the daycare! When they were roaming outside! Ohh I am such a bad friend! I need to apologize to him again!”
Sunrise made the effort to walk out to the balcony before Moon had to stop him from stepping out.
‘Woah there, Sunny! You can’t just leave, we are still awaiting the new rules!’
No time! I need to go find Gregory! I need to apologize for almost killing him! Let go!” Sunrise struggled to move out of the way but Moon had tightened his hold ‘ You cannot go right now! The place is closed and Gregory wouldn’t be in the building anymore anyways!’
Sunrise fell limp, tears falling down his cheeks. “B-but..”
Moon sighs, he gently put Sunrise to the ground and held him in his arms. ‘ He has a high chance of coming back, you know? You saw how the child was close to Freddy. Maybe he might come back when the Plaza opens again.’
Moon waited patiently for Sunrise to stop crying before patting his back. Sunrise sobs “You know.. I thought I was the one who gets to comfort you.”
Moon chuckles, ‘ And why is that?’
Moon knew what Sunny was going to say already but he had come to terms with it. He had all day to think about what happened the night before. His memory was a bit hazy on the most part but he knew the majority of it. He harmed a child. No, he harmed multiple children.
Honestly, he was relieved that Sunny wasn’t affected. He didn’t know what he would do if Sunny was affected. He knew that Sunny would never forgive himself for harming a child to the point where he would harm himself. So yeah, he was glad that he was the only one who got corrupted.
He was devastated when he first woken up, the memories of hunting ‘Gregory’ throughout the hourly power outage. The way the child looked at him with fear in his eyes. No. He doesn’t forgive himself for it but he had to stay strong for Sunny. Sunny needed him and he needed Sunny.
Sunrise sniffles, wiping his tears. “Because, I thought you would be the one crying your eyes out… Not me.”
Moon smiles gently, ‘ And I know you would always cheer me up. You always knew how.’
Sunrise smiles, nodding before sighing and leaning against him. ‘ Are you done crying now?’
Sunrise stuck his tongue out before nodding. “Yes.. Am okay now..”
Moon flickered it with his fingers, ignoring his ‘ow’ . ‘ Good because we both are stuck in our room for the time being. That means, no going in the play area.’
Moon waited for Sunny to process his words before Sunny shrieks. “What?! Why! It wasn’t your fault! That is not fair!”
Moon winced at the sheer volume. ‘ Indoor voice, Sunny’
Sunrise huffs before stomping his foot down “Why are we in time out! It wasn't our fault! It wasn’t your fault!”
‘They know, Sunny. It’s just they are removing the generators that are in the play area and removing the wiring. They don’t want you hovering over them as they are working.’  Moon said. He gently moves him to the balcony where you can hear voices. ‘ Look for yourself, they are actually doing what we requested for ages.’
Sunrise opened the curtain and peered down below. Sure enough, there was workers outside. He grips the curtain when he notices the amount of mess around the daycare. He just cleaned it! “I just cleaned it too..” He mutters before closing it.
Maybe that’s why we are in timeout, I know how you are when it comes to messes.’ Moon pokes his cheek, grinning. Sunrise rolled his eyes before swiping away his finger. “You do the same too, Moony.”
Moon shrugs.
Sunrise stared at the curtain before turning away and crawling in the hole where Moon’s room was. The room itself was dim enough for Moon to come out but it seems like Moon didn’t want to come out.
Before he stood up, he gasped and abruptly turned around and went back into his room. His entire room was cleaned then where was his present that Gregory gave to Moony! Sunrise frantically looked around his room before the blue ribbon box. He couldn’t see it! Where was it?
‘What are you looking for?’
Sunrise ignored him before he looked behind the couch and sighed in relief when he saw the present sitting innocently behind the couch. He was glad that none of the workers decided to throw this away. He reached out and pulled the box out. Moon looked curiously.
Sunrise held the box in his hands before he went to the light switch without hesitation. Even if the shifting hurts.
Wa-’ He flipped the switch. He shut his eyes shut when he felt the shift begin to happen but he didn’t feel any pain from it. He opened his eyes and noticed he was staring at Moony’s blank face.
“Wait…” Moon finished. Sunrise sheepishly laughed, rubbing the back of his head. ‘ Opps?’ Moon shakes his head before looking down at the present. “What’s this?”
Sunrise beamed, he leaned forward. ‘ It’s a gift! For you!’ He said, like it was obvious.
Moon huffs before grabbing the little card on the side of the box. It read “For Moon by…Gregory '' He mutters. He frowns before going to the couch and sitting down. He hesitated and opened the box. He can feel Sunny hovering over him, shaking from excitement.
The first thing he saw was a sweater stuffed on top of everything else. He lifted the sweater from the box and gasped. It was a moon theme sweater, fitting for him. The sleeves were puffy and covered in stars. In the middle of the sweater was a small shape of a moon behind some clouds.
‘Ooohh, It’s like mine!’ Sunny said, grinning. He looked towards where the drawers were and hoped it was in one of them and not in a trash bag.  ‘ We match!’
Moon smiled before he decided to put it on. It fit him right on.  ‘ You look good!’ Sunny complimented him.
Moon reached out and grabbed a golden plushie from him. He had never seen this before. Sunrise gasped, suddenly reaching out and tried to grab the plush but his hand went through it. ‘ You got an exclusive Moon plush! Those are extremely rare and only 100 were made! You are so lucky!’ Sunny gushed.
Moon laughs before pushing him away. “Guess so. I have never seen one before. I wonder if Gregory has a Sunny.”
He looked through the box one last time and saw a note as well as a necklace. He grabs the necklace first. It was a beautiful crescent moon. He wonders where Gregory found these, he hopes it wasn't stolen because there was no way these are Gregory’s. A child wouldn’t be interested in jewelry. He put the necklace around his neck.
He read the note with multiple spelling errors.
“Dear Mr Moondrop
I know sunny told yu aboot his gift so i want to write tis letter to let you know that i forgiv you for hinting me down. i know it wasnt your fallt. I want to be your friend!
Gregory”
Moon huffs and smiles “He got my name wrong…”
Sunny laughed and said ‘ He got my name wrong as well but he is trying. I hope he comes back and we can play!’
Moon chuckles, before he had to reach out and wipe away the tears that were threatening to fall and stain the little letter. His now treasured letter. He tried to take a deep breath but it was pointless since the tears were now overflowing down his cheeks. He moved the letter to his side so it wouldn’t be ruined by his tears.
He felt Sunny pull him into a hug and he leaned into the nice comforting hug. Sunny really did give nice hugs. Sunny didn’t say anything, only silently giving him a hug. Moon sighs, not bothering to stop the tears. Letting it out was probably the best choice.
“I… I don’t get why.. He would forgive me…” Moon sniffs, he wrapped his arms around Sunny. “I-i mean.. I hunted him down each hour… and I saw the look in his eyes…”
Damn it, so much for staying strong but this really broke him. He doesn’t deserve to be forgiven by Gregory. He doesn’t deserve to be forgiven by any of his children. Not after he scared him. Moon sobs, shutting his eyes.
Sunny just held him tighter. ‘ You’ll find that Gregory is very forgiving. I’m sure that everyone will forgive you. It wasn’t your fault, Moony. None of this is your fault.’
Moon stayed silent, sobbing into Sunny's chest as they both just hugged each other for the rest of the day. Moon was glad that Sunny was here.
~~Time skip~~
Gregory was finally free to roam into the daycare without the supervision of Vanessa and Freddy. As much as he loves Freddy and tolerates Vanessa, he cannot handle their over protectiveness. He secretly loves the little cuddles he would get from Freddy but he won’t admit it. After he freed Vanessa from.. Him, she became his big sister he never really had.
They both care for him but he just needed some time alone. He still wasn’t really used to all their affection so he decided to roam the plaza and introduce himself to all the animatronics that were fixed. They all don’t blame him and forgive him, even though they said they don’t need forgiveness since he was doing all he can to survive. He tried not to damage everyone but his plans were not very good and they still got damaged when they were chasing him.
Like Chica falling into the garbage compactor as Gregory accidentally slammed into the button. She fell on some food smush on the floor and fell right into the thing that crushed the trash. Luckily, it was only her legs that were crushed and she wasn’t really a threat of him for the rest of the night since she couldn't walk,
Similar events happened to the others. No matter how much he didn’t want to harm them, they still somehow managed to break themselves. So yeah, his luck right there.
Gregory walked past the gate just as a daycare worker was closing it. The worker gave him a smile and a nod before walking away. Everyone was informed of Gregory's situation. Surprisingly no one protested that a child can live with the animatronics.
Gregory walked past the golden statues and noticed that it was way cleaner than before. Did they clean it too? Gregory smiles. Good for them. They deserved the same treatment others had and it looks like his request was granted.
Of course, Gregory doesn’t know that Vanessa had plenty of blackmail to make the higher up quiet and do what the boy wants. If the boy wants Sunrise and Moon in top order, then that's what they are going to do. Just don’t tell Gregory because who knows what Gregory will do with this information. Cause chaos…
He went to the slide and debated whether he should go down from there or just go through the gates…
He peeked through the window that leads into the daycare and saw that Sunny wasn’t anywhere near the play area so he was in his room.
Gregory shrugs before sliding down into the freshly cleaned ball pit. He yelped as he didn't stick the landing as fell to the bottom of the ball pit. He struggled to get out of the ball pit but couldn't find anything to hold on. He sneezed when he smelled the chemicals used to clean the plastic balls.
He shrieks when he feels large hands wrap around his armpits before he is pulled out of the pit. He blinked. Sunrise blinked.
Sunny grins before pulling him into a hug.
"Friend! You came back!"
Gregory laughs, giving him a pat on his back. He grins up at a smiling Sunny. “I promised I would come back, didn’t I?”
Notes:
The idea where those scenarios where something I always wanted to write but had nothing else to add to it. So I decided to write them in here as memories. So those ideas might be a separate fic but who knows. I'm already writing another one.
