studying wasnt even on the list of the top three things Sunghoon would willingly do, he wasnt really one of those students who was too eager to learn what the professor was talking about in front, Sunghoon never liked it that much, but he still go to classes everyday to show that he cared enough, he's always at the back though, head lower than anybody else in the room, often times lost in thought but still there nonetheless
He was the type to always pass his assignments on time, the projects he made are not the neatest but it would do, and he never wanted to put any more effort into doing so.
his tests scores arent the highest but he passed, he doest care about it that much, it was never a priority because it never bothered him.
in fact he would always laugh it off whenever Jay lectures him about how education is somehow important, and how it's going to help in a way.
"this is not something we should take lightly, sunghoon, were in college now, this is the time to think about things in a more serious matter"
to he would reply with a chuckle hanging on his lips "sure, and were just going to ignore that you and Wonie are now dating cause i almost failed Physics?"
he never liked being scolded, he never liked it when someone talks to him as if theyre looking down on what he's done, as if they know everything going on around on his head.
so he wondered (for the 5th time this day) why he's sitting on the floor of Jake's dorm while doing his best to calculate the impact and momentum of the soccer ball in his assignment, crossed legged in front of the other boy, holding on the complaints he wanted to let out of his mouth
what the fuck am i doing?
i wont even fucking use this when i buy ice-cream
Besides i dont even play soccer??
"Do your work Hoon, i can see rolling your eyes" Jake said while still looking at his own papers
"Whatever"
Well for one, none of this reviewing session would happen if he never actually met Jake Sim, the now constant relief and reminder that even though Sunghoon never tried being best to anything in his life, he still was chosen to be loved by this angel
Jake and Sunghoon started dating 2 months ago, but they knew each other way before that, in fact Sunghoon doesnt remember a time where Jake and him are not together, and it still makes him wonder as to why they've only started dating now when all his life it felt like Jake was the only person who's ever going to love him as him.
The two of them were an inseparable pair, ever since they were young Jake and Sunghoon is never without the other in anything. Wherever Sunghoon is, there would always be a Jake beside him.
Jake was there with him when he started losing his interest in ice skating back in 12th grade, he was there when he silently shut himself off with the world because at the ripe age of 18, he was lost with what he wanted to do. Jake was there to remind him that it was okay to be upset about things he cant control.
"i dont know what to do anymore, it's like having the last thing youre holding onto give up on you. i dont have anything backing me up, Jaeyun, I've always only had this, and now it's gone too"
"that's not true, Hoonie, what am i here for then?"
There was a low chuckle from where Synghoon was seated, he looked at Jaeyun with so much unshed tears in his eyes before a small smile appeared on his lips
"No one really knows what they want in life you know? just because Jay had everything planned on his for the next 10 years doesnt mean you have to have it too. i can always just provide for us in the future"
"shut up" Sunghoon replied with a laugh, because they both know that it was a possiblity, the both of them living together in the future is possible
Jake was with Sunghoon when he was having a hard time deciding if he should continue his studies, he drank canned beers in front of the convenience store with him while Jake talked to him,
"you know how i never really liked studying Jake"
"i know, and i would always support anything you decide on, so do whatever makes you happy"
Jake was there when he started questioning his personal preference and sexuality, when he wondered if he was weird for feeling the things he felt when he looked at Jeon Jungkook, a senior from his Film History class back in freshmen year of college
"it's the thought that i like it, Jaeyun. I dont hate the feeling in my stomach when we accidentally make eye contact. The giddy feeling in my chest is overwhelming but i like it, and it's weird"
"it's not weird Hoonie, you just like someone, it's not a crime to have a crush on guy, an attractive one at that"
"but what does that make me?"
"a person who likes a pretty boy in class?" Jake said with too much confusion in his tone
"am i gay now?"
"well, you dont necessarily have to be one, you can be bisexual or pansexual, im not really the person you should ask about that. We can still figure out what you feel, there's no need to rush, Hoon"
Sunghoon lifted his head to look at Jake in the eye, he wanted to find some kind of fake concern in it because theres no way a person can be this kind and genuine. Jake Sim in Sunghoon's mind is an angel sent to make him feel the warmth he had always wanted to feel in someone.
And sunghoon thinks that's when the light around Jake started becoming different, he thinks that's the moment everything moved, shuffled and started making their way to its place.
It made perfect sense after that
it was like the puzzle, long forgotten in his mind was brought back in the surface and was completing itself without the help of anyone but Jake by his side.
they started dating each other a few months after that, it wasnt really something sunghoon was proud to re tell to anyone because it embarassed him to death back then

Sunghoon was there to help Woonyoung, a classmate he met in his Foreign Language class, the both of them surprisingly hit it off the first time they met and Sunghoon has been treating her as a little sister since then, theyre currently passing the time to practice some lines for their Film project.
"So, how is the 'best friend' situation" Woonyoung was currently typing something in his laptop as she sipped in her milktea
Sunghoon had been avoiding Jake like the plague since last week because one he realized that he was in love with his best friend, and two is that he doesn't know how he would deal with Jake being oblivious to his feelings.
He was spending more of his time with everyone but Jake, and he doesn't know if his bestfriend had noticed it, but even if he did, he never once talked about it.
Sunghoon is aware of how cliché everything was, the first person he told this to was Woonyoung, and so now the younger girl was the only one stressing about his 'lovelife'
"what do you mean? There's no situation going on"
She groaned while rolling her eyes, then proceeded to continue typing aggressively on her laptop before saying "shut up, have you talked to him?"
No, he hasn't, and it's not because he was embarrassed and it wasn't even the fact that his chest would hurt the best kind when Jake is around, it wasn't because he felt his hands being clammy whenever Jake's touch would linger longer on his skin, and it definitely wasn't because his insides would rage with a few different animals screaming, yelling his own feelings for the other guy, no it wasn't because of that.
He didn't tell that to her though, and instead he bowed his head looking at his fingers while laughing lowly, unsure of what's making him amused, but he did
"stop laughing so creepily, Sunghoon"
Sunghoon scoffed "im not"
"Not talking to each other wont solve anything, that's basic knowledge"
"Not talking means prolonging and saving our friendship, Woonyoung"
"Is it really?"
"Really what?"
"Saving it?"
Sunghoon thought about it, was it really worth their years of friendship?
Just then he saw someone familiar enter the café and Sunghoon couldn't take his eyes off the guy who he had been trying to avoid for the longest time now.
Jake was looking around and for a moment the both of them had their eyes on each other, Sunghoon's heart did a triple flip, beating too loudly and faster than normal, his hands felt cold all the while and everything around him didn't matter
It was the first time he saw Jake after 2 weeks of rejecting his hang out requests, he never thought he could miss someone so much until now. which was weird, because they had always been around each others orbit, but the last few days were a lot more challenging on sunghoon's part.
Then someone tapped Jake's shoulder, Sunghoon saw how he looked away from him too quickly and met the person with a hug and a huge grin he had only seen him wear once
It made him feel little annoyed so fast, the thought of Jake being happy with someone he doesn't know, he felt a small fire in the pit of his stomach creeping up on his insides, maybe betrayal because why didn't he know this man?
And then all of those were washed away because Sunghoon realized how selfish that sounded, Jake is allowed to be friends with anyone he wants, just as how he is allowed to do so too.
From across the room he can see him laughing and throwing his body to lean in to the guy.
taking all the will to stay still on his seat, Sunghoon blatantly glared at the two of them
Woonyoung followed his gaze and saw the scene, she raised her eyebrows at the older guy
"well would you look at that, sunghoon, someone might have actually stole your man from you just because you were such a freaking coward" she enunciated carefully
Sunghoon didn't pay her any attention, ignoring the fact that maybe she was right, that maybe his feelings for Jake would have to be stopped abruptly even before they have the chance to make it grow.
After a while Jake was standing up, he was leaving their table, walking away. Sunghoon didn't know what went into his mind but it only dawned to him when he was in front of the restroom
When he entered the room Jake was facing the mirror, startled was un understatement when he noticed Sunghoon on his back
"who was that?" sunghoon asked, and he didn't know how wrong it was until the words were out of his lips, Jake raised his eyebrows, smirking and as if mocking him in a way. He looked up pretending to think if he should answer or not
"I think it's none of your business, Sunghoon" he walked passed him but Sunghoon took his arms to place him back in front of him
"well, I think it is, Jake, im your bestfriend and you never told me you were seeing someone, talk to me"
"so now you want to talk?" he scoffed while looking at him directly in the eyes, anger too visible to ignore "maybe if you weren't too busy flirting with woonyoung, your friend from Foreign Language who is sooo very pretty, then maybe I could've introduced you to him"
"what? I wasn't flirting, we were doing a project" he yelled back
"whatever, its not as if you forgot about our Friday movie nights, 2 weeks in a row, its not as if you stood me up last Wednesday to our lunch because the two of you needed to 'talk' and it's not as if you completely forgot about me now"
"Jaeyun, where the fuck is all of this coming from?"
"Ughhhh!" he groaned loudly, frustrated with everything that is Sunghoon, Jake put his hands on his face, angrily washing it up while he yelled incoherent noises at him
Sunghoon took both of Jake's arms and tried to calm him down by stroking it back and forth, then he caressed his face with both hands, urging Jake to look at him
"hey, Jaeyun, talk to me, baby"
Jake took in a deep breath, eyes closed for a while easing the overwhelming feelings he had
"You are so confusing sunghoon" he gently said, his hands supporting sunghoon's
"one moment you hold me close, cuddling me to death as if never wanting me to let go, and then suddenly youre far away, and then your ignoring my calls and hang outs, making me wonder as if I imagined everything" he continued to ramble
"I never wanted to make it seem like that, im sorry"
"well, yeah, now you just have to accept the fact that I love you then I move on I guess"
Sunghoon can feel his nerves tingling from the bottom of his feet to the tip of his lungs, he can feel his whole body shiver with what he just heard
"then you also have to accept the fact that I love you too"
Jake slowly opened his eyes to look at his, there was no need to confirm if what he heard was right, he knew it was.
There was no need for the both of them to double check if it was real because the both of them knew that it was.
Maybe they knew a long time ago, they knew from the start, that's why a simple confirmation was enough
"Well that's nice, mind if I steal my cousin back?" a voice said from their back, and just like that the small moment was gone
"Heeseung! How long have you been there?"
"well I heard you two saying I love you then I have to see you nearly suck each other's face off, so I guess long enough"
Sunghoon felt his cheeks burn

As sunghoon, played with his pencil, twirling it with his fingers, he looked at Jake in front of him, unlike his very stubborn ass, his boyfriend had always been the one who's academically inclined
He set his eyes in him, the view wasn't unfamiliar, he's seen Jake study before but no matter how many times he watch him, it would never fail to make Sunghoon mesmerized with how beautiful he looks whenever he's too focused into solving something, maybe its also the reason why sunghoon agreed to this, he doesn't like studying but he loved Jake, so he would do anything to see him.
And no matter how much Sunghoon loved Jake to bits, it wouldnt change the fact that the both of them will always argue about study times.
You see both of them are alike, too in synch with each other. literal soulmates, to the point where they clash too often too. like how they never agreed to the ideals of learning, although Jake understands Sunghoon, their silly banters would still occur.
with the last patience left in his body sunghoon finally sighed, loudly and deeply, making Jake look at him with concern in his eyes, as if silently asking and judging him
"That's the 7th sigh i heard today, Hoonie, what's wrong?" he asked
"i cant do this anymore" Sunghoon's words were laced with something akin to giving up and worry, as he put his arms up and dropped them quickly, then banged his head on the small table Jake had provided for the both of them in the floor
Jake took his paper and looked at it to see if the other boy had atleast made something
"you havent even finished number one yet, you shithead" he said loud enough to make it sound like a scolding, and then procedeed to hit sunghoon in the head with his ruler
"ahh, that kinda hurts" Sunghoon pouted while holding the part where he hit him
"Stop distracting me and do your homework"
Sunghoon gave up and laid on the ground, wriggling too much to show that he doesn't want to finish it and that he's too tired to do it
"Cant I just cuddle my boyfriend now?"
Jake stopped writing, he breathed a little then pick up his head to look at his boyfriend on the ground, he took his pen and pointed it accusingly at Sunghoon
"Stop tempting me"
Sunghoon smirked, his chest warming because he knew Jake's going to give in to his request in a bit more.
"Cmon give me loveee" he said while trying to reach Jake's waist, which the latter slapped away "i just finished my exams and here i thought i could have some quality time with the best boyfriend in the world, but he's replacing me with his motherfucking physics assignment"
"shut up, omygod" JAke laughed as he continued writing more on his notebook
"Jaeyun, i cant- i cant do this anymore" he screamed
Jake laughed while closing his books on the table, he looked at him again, wondering why he even suggested this study session anyway
Jake plopped himself beside him on the floor, and Sunghoon opened his arms to welcome him
Sunghoon tucked his chin on the other's head as they hugged each other on the cold matted floor of the living room, while humming he kept thinking about everything and nothing at all
"you smell..." Sunghoon started
"like what?"
"like a baka" he deadpanned
"i hate you" Jake replied nonchalantly
Sunghoon laughed and jake felt his whole body rumble while still hugging him
"Jay might come home any minute now" Jake murmured, his eyes closed, breathing in Sunghoon's warmth
"So?"
"We should get up" Jake said while still not moving in their current positions
"We should" Sunghoon replied with the same tone but he wasnt planning on moving and separating himself yet
Jake chuckled "we really need to get up, Hoonie" but he's still not moving an inch, they were still cuddling.
"Just a little bit more"
And they hugged each other longer than a little bit more, until Jay came in with a loud bang on his door, yelling and complaining about the display that greeted him.
