Work Text:

Seokjin can feel the parts where his wings are attached on his back hurting. They throb every 3 minutes. The summer fairy’s magic is drained and his wings are too weak to fly him home. The day has been a little to rough for him. As a fairy who spreads happiness for everyone and anyone that needs it, Seokjin is always a little stressed by the end of the day. He usually spends his day helping every people who are in need, blessing them with bits of happiness to make them smile. Today, a few people not only took his blessing for granted, they also made him feel like he is not a useful fairy. Seokjin had to force himself not to cry. His magic ran out too quickly for him he couldn’t help the few people he met before he needed to go home. It just worsens his mood.

By the time he is walking through the field of dahlias to get to the treehouse he lives in, he is sure his lovers are pacing around the house, being worried about him. Seokjin sighs and he stops in front of a large maple tree. There’s lights coming from the treehouse. He can hear the faint voices of his lovers. Seokjin smiles a little and climbs the ladder he hammered into the trunk. It’s to help the fairies who are unable to use their wings and any wingless friends to climb up to the treehouse. As he climbs higher and closer to the house, he can hear hushed, worried voices becoming louder.

“He must be tired. Poor Jinnie. What if his wings stopped working? He won’t be able to fly back, Minnie.”

“Hobi, please calm down, Jinnie will be okay. If he is not, we will make him feel better. Together. Okay?”

The summer fairy feels his heart flutter in his chest. He walks up to the door and knocks. When the door is pulled open, his arms are immediately wrapping around a smaller, slender figure.

“Jinnie,” Hoseok, spring fairy, croaks wetly against his shoulder.

Seokjin kisses his temple and gives Jimin, the dream fairy, who is standing in the doorway an apologetic look but Jimin just shakes his head. It’s okay.

“Come on, loves, let’s get inside. It’s going to rain soon,” Jimin reminds them gently.

The spring fairy pulls away from Seokjin, nose red. He kisses the summer fairy cheek. “Welcome home. I missed you.”

Warmth spreads through Seokjin’s entire being. He feels so lucky to have Jimin and Hoseok as his partners. They care about him so much.

“Thank you, love. Don’t worry, I’m okay. My wings stopped working early because… because I didn’t feel the best today,” he confesses.

Jimin frowns from the pantry where he is making a pot of hot tea. His wings flutter restlessly and pink dust fly around him. He is becoming as worried as Hoseok was.

“Did something happen?” he asks.

Hoseok pouts and pulls Seokjin to sit down on the yellow couch. The summer fairy turns sideway and lets Hoseok help heal his wings with his magic since he has healing power. Seokjin sighs in relief and comfort when the throbbing on his back and in his wings lessen, watching with droopy eyes as Jimin sprinkles a bit of love into the tea.

Jimin’s magic is a little special. The love in his magic is sometimes laced with other things like comfort, fondness, sweetness, pleasure, and so much more. This time, the dream fairy adds a little love and a lot of assurance. Hoseok and Jimin, just like Seokjin, can sense each other’s emotions. They must have known that the day had been a little hard on Seokjin. The spring fairy rubs his palms around the parts where Seokjin wings attach to his back. The summer fairy can feel the magic flowing through his body, easing the pain. His own magic is slowly returning.

When Jimin brings a tray with the pot of tea and three cups, Hoseok is already done healing Seokjin’s wings. The summer fairy still feels a bit sad and while he doesn’t want to worry his lovers further, they deserve to know what’s making him so upset.

Jimin pours the tea into the cups, which have cute mushrooms painted on them. Hoseok made the cups, along with the teapot himself. He likes making cute utensils and tea sets from clay, spending most of his days in the studio Seokjin built for him. Sometimes, he sells them to their friends and other creatures.

Seokjin thanks the dream fairy as he takes the cup from Jimin, blowing carefully at the hot drink. He sips a little and lets out a sigh. Oh, how much he loves Jimin’s tea. Hoseok gives Jimin a quick kiss on the cheek before taking the cup, causing Seokjin and Jimin to laugh fondly. They drink their tea quietly.

“Jinnie, talk to us, darling.” Jimin gives him a kiss on his temple.

Hoseok hums his agreement and pulls his arm to cuddle closer to him.

Seokjin takes a deep breath. He talks.

It gets a little hard to see and he realizes he is crying when Jimin wipe away the tears on his face. Hoseok keeps rubbing his back, careful not to touch the still-sore part. They cuddle him, pressing close to him and start whispering sweet nothings, soothing his emotions and the hurt in his chest. The summer fairy lets his lovers pampers him, finding reassurances in every gesture, touch and word. He can feel warmth and love envelope the three of them, their magic infusing together.

“You are the most wonderful fairy I have ever met. You are always so selfless and kind, endlessly. You never hesitate to give people happiness. You never one to turn away the people who need to rely on you. You give them what they need with whatever you can give them, even though, in the end, at times, you end up hurting. That is so brave of you, Jinnie,” Hoseok speaks.

Seokjin sniffles, hasn’t stopped crying. But, Jimin doesn’t stop wiping away the tears, too.

Then, Hoseok continues with a firm voice, “but, that doesn’t mean your feelings and emotions are not valid. Each and every one of them, anything you are feeling, it is valid. You are allowed to cry. You are allowed to feel like you failed, and you are allowed to grow from that failure, too. You don’t have to be afraid of not being okay because while we are fairies, we are humans, too. Part of us is human. Feelings are what make us human, Jinnie.”

That makes Seokjin break down completely. He feels so tired but so reassured. He feels so loved when Hoseok and Jimin keep pressing soft kisses on his face and head. They keep holding him as he cries and they remain in their cuddling position for almost an hour before Jimin moves. Seokjin blinks blearily since he accidentally dozed off.

“I’m gonna prepare a warm bath for you, okay?” Hoseok smiles brightly and pecks Seokjin’s lips. He gets up from the couch and brings the tea set to the kitchen before skipping upstairs to their shared bedroom.

Seokjin watches as the spring fairy’s wings flutter gently, light green dust flying around him. Jimin chuckles quietly beside him as he stares along. When Seokjin tries to rub at his eyes, Jimin clicks his tongue. The dream fairy raises an eyebrow and the other grins sheepishly. Jimin offers his hand Seokjin takes it. Smiling, the fairy with love magic pulls his lover to their bedroom. They hear Hoseok humming a familiar tune in the bathroom when they walk into the room.

“Take off your robe, honey,” Jimin instructs the summer fairy as he goes to grab yellow, pink, and green sleeping gowns from their wardrobe.

“Will you and Hobi join me for the bath?” Seokjin asks. He wants them to bath with him, really.

Jimin beams at him and nods. “Of course, Jinnie. Hobi! Let’s join our sweet love for bath, okay?”

A loud cheer comes from inside the bathroom and the other two lovers laugh.

Inside the large, round tub, Seokjin once again lets Hoseok and Jimin pamper him. Hoseok massages his feet while Jimin rubs the shampoo into his hair. They all are quiet, enjoying each other’s presence and love in silence.

When they step out of the tub, their skins are tinted pink due to the temperature of the water. Jimin grabs a fresh wooly robes for the three of them and they step out of the bathroom, wings dripping water a bit.

Hoseok and Jimin then make the fairy with happiness magic lays in the middle of the bed before climbing into it on either side of him, switching off the bedside lamps. Feeling comfortable in their sleeping gowns, they cuddle into each other. Seokjin lets out a breath of relief. He feels loads better. He gives his lovers kisses on their cheeks.

“Good night, loves,” he whispers quietly.

“Love you both.”

“Sleep tight, darlings.”
