"You're burning, my love"
The back of your hand was on Kazuha's forehead, who was laying on your bed after waking up with a cold
"It's not a big deal, I've been in worse situations and it has gone just fine, don't worry" he smiles weakly, and you sigh
"I know this isn't much, but I can't help but worry about you, please let me take care of you" Kazuha stood still, humming with his eyes closed as you placed a towel slightly soaked in cold water on his forehead, caressing his face in the process.
You rested your hand on his cheek, smiling tenderly as he leans against your palm.
"You shouldn't have spent the last downpour outside, Kazuha. Your fever better go down before I fight it myself" Kazuha chuckled softly, putting his hand on top of yours, giving it a kiss
"I know and I apologize, it will not happen again, dear"
You hold his face in your palms, and he was concernedly warm
"If you go and take a cold shower your fever will go down a bit, let me change the sheets in the meantime, I can cook something light for us later"
You gently pushed his back and helped Kazuha to sit on the bed, eyes fixed on each other, your mind wondering how him being sick and disheveled could still be so beautiful
You smiled as you combed his untied hair, removing the messy white bangs from his face and tucking them behind his ear, taking your sweet time with his red streak, previously shapeless spread all over his hair.
You caressed his cheek and whispered a soft "go", getting out of bed followed by him.
You cleaned the room, putting the new sheets and making sure they smelled good. Cozing up under the covers while you waited for the water in the shower to stop falling, thinking about what was in your hands to make your loved one feel better.
When you were about to go and check if he had passed out in the shower, he came out with a towel wrapped around his waist and another over his hair.
You gave him a more comfortable change of clothes than he usually wore. He barely wore them because he said "it was not appropriate for the fight and the spirit of an adventurer". It was a set of clothing you bought in the market thinking it was something comfortable that you could both use to sleep, and now that he was sick, he didn’t make a fuss while he got dressed.
Once he was done, you took him by the wrist gently, dragging him to bed again, sitting him on the edge
“Come here, let me dry your hair before you get worse” He gave you the towel, sitting still while you towel dry his hair fondly, combing his hair with your fingers when you were done, admiring the way it fell on his shoulders.
“Your hair is really soft, and it looks pretty long when you don’t have it tied up, you know?”
Kazuha nodded, looking into your eyes, with a glow in them that made your heart feel warm, a warmth that no one had been able to make you feel except him.
You left the towel on the side of the bed, resting your hands on his shoulders massaging them gently, lovingly.
Your hand rose to his forehead, checking his temperature once more.
“Thanks god your fever is letting up, how are you feeling?”
"Much better, now I have the clearest head” he leans over your touch, finding warmth in it
“Then I’ll go cook us some dinner, lie down and rest, love” You were about to leave when he grabbed you gently by the wrist, stopping you
"Will you stay by my side instead? I crave your company more than anything else"
He hears you giggle as you seats besides him, you hands cups his face looking upon his features with loving eyes, before peppering his lips with a loving kiss, not caring if you catch the cold, knowing you'll be in the best hands.
He gives you a scolding look, but ends up smiling, holding your hands together
"It's ok if we cuddle? I feel like holding you tonight" You get a little closer to him, still holding your hands together
“I’d rather you don’t get sick, but if I may I feel like that too”
"Don’t worry, I’m stronger than that" he gives you a playful fulminant look and you both giggle
The two of you lay in bed, facing each other and Kazuha’s head is buried between your chest and neck, your fingers meeting with his scalp as your other hand is holding him by the waist
“Don't let go of me, ok?” You giggle, pressing a tender kiss in his hair where your hand were before, feeling a wave of warmth that you couldn’t name another thing other than pure love
"Never"
