Chat’s response is immediate. In one move he crushes his lips to hers and grabs her thighs to wrap around his hips. He turns them, grabbing her ass to support her, among other motivations, and walks them to the base of the ladder leading up to her loft.
To her bed.
To the place they’ve been a thousand times together but not together.
And then her lips are against his neck as he makes quick work of the ladder, his super strength rendering the weight of her body inconsequential. So many times they’ve carried each other, but this is a first. This time it means more than surviving, more than duty, more than protective instincts and the world at stake.
