“No.” A frown contorts the blond’s features into something unpleasant.
“But-“
“No buts.”
“She was all alone-“
“They all were. Hitoshi, my guy. My love, my light. My siren. We already have six cats. And although I love them very much, they are a rowdy bunch. They are loud, smelly, scratch every furniture and chew through all the cables. So no. not another one.”
Hitoshi smiles his signature half-smile.
“Okay. No more cats.”
“Thank you.” Denki blows some air into his low hanging fringe. Then his eyes widen as husband opens his coat to reveal that he, in fact, did bring a stray. And also, not a cat.
“I found her at the raid I participated today. Most of the other dogs were dead, but this little trooper knew how to hide. She tried to bite the others. When I came close enough, she just licked my hand” Hitoshi placed her on the floor. At first, she hid behind him. Her dirty fur seemed originally white, though it was hard to tell. Behind Hitoshi’s dark pants she almost vanished. As Denki lowered himself, she got curious and approached. Denki presented her his hand, and she sniffed him gingerly. And licked.
“Her name is Nana.”
Denki sighed. “Number seven, how fitting.” As Hitoshi saw the smile on Denkis face receiving puppy kisses, he couldn’t contain a grin either.
