Work Text:
Kirishima Eijirou knew he had to work through a lot of trauma when he started courting Todoroki Shouto. It did not deter him from his pursue. It all but encouraged him to show him just how good of a mate he was. Eijirou knew his boyfriend struggled with a lot, being the only Omega in a Pure Alpha home, with their dam hospitalised and not present for years. He realised that even though his father was trying to make amends, he will never truly rid the damage he had already done.
And although Eijirou knew he should expect the surreal with Shouto, he still stood in the other boys room, taken aback. “You seriously never made a nest?” Shouto seemed to sink into himself at the volume and crystal-clear shock in his partners voice.
“No. I was too young before Mother left. And the others are Alphas.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“They’re Alphas? They don’t nest?”
Eijirou turned to touch his partners cheek. They made eye contact. “Now, that’s just not true. Its also false that nesting is unmanly. To be honest, it’s the manliest thing I can do! Except maybe get hard. And even then.” Shouto blushed a darker crimson than Eijirous hair.
“You can nest?”
Eijirou nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! Both my moms are ‘megas, they taught me early. Said one day I’ll make someone really happy if I can do this properly, even if its just to sooth myself. And it works wonders. I can help you if you’ll allow it.”
Shouto hummed. “How do we start?”
“Since its your first, lets make a pile of nesting material and check if you have enough. Then we’ll see whether we need to go shopping today or if we can try right away. The first one’s always messy, but I’ll make sure you have the world’s best first nest any Omega could wish for.” Shouto sighed at his partners zeal over this project. He vigorously scoured his neat room. While working beside Eijirou he felt a calm washing over him that he never felt before when he tackled typical omegan tasks. A delicate smile claimed his features as he realised it’s the support he got from him, that made him at ease with this part of him for the first time, in, hell, years. Forever, maybe. And with Eijirou by his side, knowing hands sorting out useless towels and blankets while keeping others, he suddenly couldn’t imagine failing in building that nest he dreaded for so long.
