“Now that girl is wayyy out of your league.” Coach said as Sarah walked away her heels clicking faintly across the pavement. Ethan rolled his eyes, he wasn’t into Sarah like that.
“Hey, is the ghost coach still here?” Rory tapped on Ethan’s shoulder, Ethan jumped damn vampire speed.
“Huh, this kid’s fast.” Coach said pushing ethan away rory frowned in concern.
“Hey, don’t push him around like that… He’s fragile ``Rory sighed, “sorry Ethan there’s nothing I can do.”
“Hmm, kid’s fast now he can’t do much. Maybe track. He’d do good. Why’s he following you around anyway? Kid’s like a puppy”
Ethan laughed as Rory held his shoulders checking for damages, Rory gave him an odd look but sighed thinking it was the ghost coach. “What he say?”
“He called you a puppy.”
“Boy’s like a golden retriever.” He patted Rory’s head making him tense. “You want me to come over tonight? You know for, uh, protection?”
“Protection? What. This boy. I think he’s-This boy’s a-a he’s well he’s different kid. Now let him down gently, let him know you’re a man.”
Ethan sighed inwardly, great a homophobic ghost.
“Uh, sure. But I can handle myself, you know that.”
Rory smiled tapping Ethan’s nose affectionately and he nodded. “I know. You killed vampires before. But ghosts are different, what if he hurts you? I wouldn’t know what to do.”
Ethan flushed that was unexpected.
“Are you guys done with your gay little romcom? We have a trophy to win.”
“Shut up will you.” Ethan glared at coach. Rory frowned, glaring where ethan was talking to, his fangs barred protectively.
“Huh, you got yourself a vampire boyfriend.” Coach sighed, “relax kid, i knew some kids like you back in the day. One of my best students was gay. I had a feeling, since that girl was around, you didn’t seem to really care. When someone as nice looking as she was, talks to boys like you, they stumble around and fumble to get words out, you were none of that.”
Ethan relaxed, tapping Rory who looked at him confused. “Ethan wha-“
“He’s ok. He’s not gonna hurt me.”
Rory let out a sigh of relief, “good cause I didn’t know if I could fight a ghost, vampire or not. So what are you gonna do?”
“Well I’m probably gonna just have to do what he wants. Win a trophy.”
“That's the smartest thing you’ve said all day.” Coach smiled ruffling both their hair. “Now c'mon boys, let's win a trophy.”
“Why does he keep doing that?” Rory sighed. “Oh, want me to take you home? Y’know super strength and speed. We can be home in seconds.”
Ethan thought about it before shrugging, “sure why not.”
“No way, pretty boy, you’re not taking anyone home. Kid’s gonna run.”
Ethan groaned as the coach pulled him aside. Rory frowned “is that a no.”
“No, coach says I gotta run home.” Ethan sighed as he started jogging towards home.
“Well, I’ll see you later!” Rory called after him.

“I know what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna wrestle.” Ethan grinned as Rory frowned.
“No. No way. You’re gonna get yourself killed, or seriously hurt. You're fragile.” Rory pouted.
“He keeps calling you that. are gonna show him he’s wrong?” Coach said as Ethan huffed “I can take care of myself. Besides, it can't be that hard.”
Rory frowned and let out a sigh. “Just be careful.”

“Y'know you look cute in the wrestling uniform.” Rory grinned fangs showing through, now the catch phrase, do you like it? Reminds me of an old wrestling movie. Thought it fit.”
Ethan laughed “yeah, sounds good.”
“Now I’m gonna go ahead of you, y'know show some support. Be a good vbf.”
“V.b.f. What's that?” Ethan smiled as Rory put his ear guard on.
“Vampire boyfriend.”
“Here’s the ethanator!” They heard Benny call.
“Now let’s get a trophy, and get this ghost out of here.” Rory smiled heading out.

“You survived a whole round without him breaking your spine in half. Nice!” Rory smiled rubbing Ethan’s shoulders, and Ethan smiled up at him.
“Thanks Rory.”

“Well now that he’s gone, do you all wanna watch a movie Saturday instead?” The boys smiled “sure sounds good.”

“I forgot how scared you get at horror movies.” Ethan laughed as Rory clung to him. He was practically sitting on Rory's lap, as the blonde buried his face in Ethan’s shoulder. Sarah had left the room to answer a call from Erica. Benny had covered his eyes, in fear.
“It's scary, okay. How are you not scared?” Rory pouted, he was supposed to be Ethan’s knight in shining armor tonight, but he ended up failing miserably once the movie started.
“Because I had him watch it a hundred times, I like this movie.” Jane said proudly, “besides you should’ve seen him, he's clingy when he’s scared.” Jane finished a knowing smile on her face as she glanced at Rory. Who smiled.
