Chapter Text
Starfire sat on the couch - correction Starfire sat within the couch - snug in between the cushions. The couch was a tad broken (well-loved as Beast Boy would say) and there was a bit of a hole, most of the titans ignored this, including the alien who was currently occupying it. She was engulfed in a book that Raven had recommended (as a joke - considering it was old English literature aka Jane Austen aka Pride and Prejudice - not the easiest read for anybody especial a girl from outer space, but Star was determined) As her eyes scanned the page she caught a word, an annoying one that continued to pop up, 'entreaty'. She stared at it, squinted even. She was determined to figure it out on her own.
Robin had been watching her read from the kitchen, he leaned over the bar. "Star, what are you doing?" She stared over at him, "Reading." He put down the can he had in his hand, and moved to sit next to her, sinking a bit into the couch (of doom) - he discovered why he usually opts for the chair - "What are you reading?" "Pride and Prejudice ." "Why?" "For the entertainment." She shrugs before facing down at the book again. "Star, I'm not sure anyone has ever enjoyed Jane Austen." She smiled in amusement, "Robin, what does 'entreaty' mean?" Star seemingly had forgotten her self-made pact to figure it out on her own. Robin paused for a moment before opening his mouth to speak, but was soon interrupted, "It is okay if you do not know it, Robin." He rolled his eyes with a small smirk on his face, "It means a request, like uh, the team and I are going to the diner for dinner, I entreaty you to come." "Are we actually going soon?" Star began, "I am super hungry." Robin nodded and looked down at her book, "Y'know Star, you could just watch the movie."

The team piled into the car, Cyborg drove, with Beast boy in the passenger seat, the other three smushed in together in the back. Star sat in the middle - hating all of her life choices that lead her to the dreaded seat. Cyborg smacked Beast Boy's leg, "Man, get your feet off my dash."
"So Star how is your reading going?" Raven asked, she had a playful smirk on her face. "Better than I thought it would, I am very interested in this 'Mr. Darcy' and his lack of a first name." Star replied casually. "You've actually been reading it?" Raven seemed a bit surprised. Starfire just nodded with a small smile.
They arrived at Alfred's, the gang rushed in to find a seat, luckily it wasn't packed. Beast Boy pointed to a booth. "Y'all just want your usuals?" Cyborg looked at each of them, they all nodded, so he headed to the counter. Star was sitting with her head down, "Starfire are you okay?" Beast Boy asked, his head was tilted in confusion. "I am starving." Star groaned
Cyborg soon came back with a tray of food in one hand and a tray of drinks in the other, "Thank goodness." Star picked up her food violently - well about as violently as you can pick up a grilled cheese - before scarfing it down. She realized how fast she'd eaten it, and looked up at her team. They hadn't noticed, as they were as equally as infatuated with their own food.
The Titans finished eating and slipped into simple conversation while sipping on drinks or snacking on fries. Raven sat across from Beast Boy, who was gaping at her, "Stop." " Stop what?" He asked, a bit afraid that he had been caught. "You're staring." She said in as bland a voice as possible, though there was a hint of joy in her tone. "What! Staring!? I- I wasn't s-Staring-" "really?" "Nope! I was looking at the TV behind you." "Mhm," Cyborg started, "What TV BB?" Beast Boy crossed his arms, "Cy you're supposed to be on my side." He whined.
Starfire and Robin were communicating with their eyes - telepathically talking smack, if you will - it's a best friend power. They were shifting between staring at Beast Boy and Rae and giving each other suggestive eye contact. (Authors Note; that was so unnecessarily hard to explain, and I'm pretty sure it made no sense, yay) Star dug her phone out of her pocket.
star: that was the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
robin: he has to be the worst liar on the planet.
They looked up at each other, star smiled softly before looking over at Cyborg, Robin's face heated up, and he wasn't sure why.
The Titans paid before leaving the diner, "Cyborg, gimme the keys, I want to drive." Robin said as the door swung shut behind them. Cy tossed Robin the keys, which he caught. "I call the shotgun!" Star said, while speed walking to the door, the Titans looked at her suspiciously, "what? I don't want to sit in the middle again." She shrugged before sliding into her seat.
(A/N: That's all for chapter one! Sorry, it was kinda short and a little weird, but hey it got the job done. I'm going to post this immediately after writing, but I think I'm going to stockpile before posting the next chapter, so it may be a little while. Thanks for reading, let me know what you thought!) (P.S. I obviously am a big Starfire/Robin fan so be prepared for a lot of that.)
