Just like any other day. New Year's Eve is just a typical day. What makes it special it's that people would celebrate the last day of the year with their beloveds. Savor every last moments of the year. Deciding their resolutions and goals. Throwing parties or dinners, either grand or simple.
All the lights on every house of Mondstadt light up. Even the lab--which shouldn't be lighten up at this time of the year. Albedo sighed, *she got carried away again.*
He's currently having dinner with Klee. Alice wouldn't be back for this year. Leaving her alone wouldn't be a good idea.
So he brought her along.
The lab was located at the headquarters. He knew very well which window was their lab. Along the way, there were a few knights at the HQ. Jean, Barbara, Lisa and Kaeya happened to be there, enjoying Jean's homemade pizza.
They offered Albedo and Klee to join them, but he has more important matters to solve.
"But Klee wants pizza too!" She begged.
"Alright, you'll stay with them first. I'll pick you up once I've dragged her out."

Flasks, test tubes, papers, unknown liquids, all scattered around on the table. The mint hair alchemistress was conducting something.
"The spark is much brighter, but not as I expected. Maybe a bit more..." She sprinkles a bit more powder.
"And what did I tell you about using the lab during mew year's eve??"
"GYAA!" The sudden startle made her accidentally dropped too much powder in her experiment.
An explosion blew out both the alchemists' face.

"I... i-I can explain!"
Sucrose tried to defend herself while she wipes off the ashes from the small accident.
"You've broken some rules and so you'll receive a punishment."
She pouted in annoyance. Albedo looked around on her table. Some gunpowder, colorings, and a few other explosive substances.
What are you making?"
"U-um... F-fireworks??"
"Fireworks? Why so?"
"R-remember the firework show on our last Inazuma visit?"
He noded.
"I-i also want to cr-craft one my own!"
"Without any proper instructions or procedures???" He was getting concerned.
"I-i almost got it tho! Isn't this also b-basic alchemy???"
Albedo noticed her gloves which were mostly covered in ashes and slightly burnt. She didn't look like making fireworks at all.
"I'm more convinced if you said you're making a jumpy dumpty."
"W...well a jumpy dumpty that can.. B-blow up like fireworks!" She sheepishly smiles.
Albedo shook his head and gave her a smile. Maybe Klee requested this? But since she had tried, it's best he lent her a hand.
Sucrose bloomed a bright smile seeing her master was willing to help her. Then throughout the last few hours before midnight, they spent it with trying to make a jumpy dumpty firework.
Albedo was supposed to drag her out. But he was the one who got dragged in. She won this time.
It's 20 minutes before midnight struck and they finally made a few batches and tested them out. It worked like what Sucrose expected!
Her happy smile was contagious enough to make Albedo smile too.
"Let's go back. Klee is down at Jean's office with a few knights." He dragged her hand while carrying a box of jumpy dumpties.

Jean was... Of course concerned. But Albedo assured her these are safe and would be lighten up with proper procedure.
"Jumpy Dumpty fireworks!" The spark knight cheered excitedly.
"D-do you want to light them, Klee?"
"Of course I do, Sucrose!"
Lisa looked at the clock hanging between the bookshelves.
"It's a few minutes left. I suggest you guys go prepare them."
"Um... maybe light them up on top of the headquarters. We'll see from down below," Jean then pushed everyone out of her office and brought them outside.
Albedo, Sucrose and Klee rushed with their box and climbed up stairs.
Down below, they could see Jean, Lisa and Barbara gathered. Kaeya seemed to join with Eula, Amber and Noelle. A few other Mondstadians were also outside.

Sucrose created a wind current strong enough to lift the jumpy dumpties.
8...
"This should explode right on time" Albedo said.
7...
Time became very slow. Albedo looked to his dear sister and assistant.
6...
All Jumpy dumpties are loaded and ready to be launched.
5...
Sucrose looked back at Albedo. Smiles decorated on both of their face.
4...
Albedo suddenly grabbed her hand and intertwined with them.
3...
The jumpy dumpties were launched.

Albedo slowly leaned on Sucrose ears. Klee was too excited to notice her vicinity.
1...
"Happy New Year" After the soft whisper, it's followed by the jumpy dumpties exploded and sparked out beautiful fireworks of various lights.
Everyone is mesmerized with the illuminating colorful lights that explodes on the sky.
The moment was just too perfect. Both the alchemist gripped each other's hands tighter. They tilted their heads to each other, enjoying their first day on a new year. By being together. With each other's companies.
