This could not be sweeter than it already is. I love this more than I can explain with words!

    Summary

The Chief Justice had always been an enigma to Fontaine and Wriothesley wasn’t the exception. Rumours about his person were always the tea of the Court. Wriothesley had some theories himself, of course, but he never confronted the Iudex about them, opting to observe and reach his own conclusions.

The five times that Wriothesley experienced first-hand the many forms of the Hydro Sovereign and the one time he reminisced his favourite encounter.

Only minutes ago, one of his guards had burst into his office, nearly hysterical with fear, wildly explaining to him that they’d spotted a monster in the depths outside the Fortress.

It was no monster. That, Wriothesley knew.

    Summary

It’s funny, because Wriothesley had always thought someone like Neuvillette would be unapproachable, that the Chief Justice, passing judgment to all of Fontaine, would be someone he could only admire from afar.

But now, Neuvillette is in Wriothesley’s office, chuckling at one of Wriothesley’s dumb jokes, and Wriothesley wonders, not for the first time, about which gods have smiled on him to put him here, now, across the table, watching Neuvillette laugh over a cup of tea.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I truly cannot express enough how much all of these works have moved me beyond words. I am so very grateful that I stumbled across the series, because it has turned into a comfort read that I go to when I feel unsure of myself and my life. I genuinely find myself in both of these two characters, to the point where I can pick one of the stories in here and find myself at peace and calm again. The words this author (because you're not just a writer when you write like this) has put down to page is as calm as the ocean at dusk, as gentle as a summer breeze at dawn, and as unconditional as the love these two have.
