When Sam was invited to a New Year's Eve party by his running partner, an old man by the name of Steve, Sam didn't expect it to be the most extra Great Gatsby-themed party Sam had ever gone to, and he didn't expect to meet a gorgeous man there.

He took a long sip from a cocktail similar to Sam’s, definitely trying to look cool before something went down the wrong way, the man sputtering and coughing, Sam rubbing the man’s back.
“Shit. There goes the cool first impression,” said the guy, taking another drink to course correct the first sip.
Sam grinned.
“I don’t see why you’d be trying to impress me,” said Sam, feeling a little self-conscious about how he was dressed compared to everyone else at this party.
“Cutest guy I’ve seen in my whole goddamn life? Of course I want a good first impression,” wheezed the man, “Fuck me. I’m Bucky.”
Sam shook his hand.
There was a softness to the silk.
Sam snorted.
