“What are you doing?” Jeanne asked. She meant to sound accusing, but although she managed to keep her expression schooled into a glare, her slipping composure made her words sound more curious than anything. His hand was flat against her sternum, fingers elongated by those dreadful, intriguing gloves and fanned out to span nearly the width of her chest. It was improper of him, to be sure; yet although his touch was not lecherous, it was certainly not fully chaste, either. His proximity to her breasts seemed to be incidental - a means to an end to keep her pinned - but it nonetheless lended the very act of breathing a sensuality that overwhelmed her.
