The instructor was giving the usual spiel. No running, no climbing, no shooting people in the eye.
George tunes out the woman's voice and looked around at his friends.
George, Karl, Sapnap, Dream, Punz, and Quackity had decided to play laser tag. Which was a dumb idea.
The woman stopped talking and motioned for the group to divide into two teams- blue and green.
George grabbed a vest from the rack- what color it was he had no idea- and watched as the lady demonstrated how to put it on.
After everyone was situated, they separated into their teams.
Punz, Dream, and Karl were on a team, and George, Quackity and Sapnap on the other.
"Everyone ready?"
The group nodded.
"Cool. Have fun." The lady unlocked the door and the boys entered the next room.
George surveyed his surroundings. Large barriers provided cover, and a small structure was in the middle with a bridge connecting it to both sides of the area.
The object of the game was simple- get the most points as possible for your team before the game ends. Points were scored by hitting other players on the opposite team or by shooting at the small plastic sensor on the other teams base.
"Both teams get into position please", the lady's voice sounded over a loudspeaker.
George, Quackity and Sapnap shuffled over to their side marked with blue lights.
"Okay. Game will begin in 3...2..1..go!"
The lights turned off and ominous music played over the speakers.
George's eyes took a second to adjust to the sudden loss of light, and the bluelight lit his white shirt up like a glowstick.
"Great", he muttered.
"Okay", Sapnap said. "Do we have a plan? Where the fuck is quackity?"
"Goddamn it!", Punz shouted.
"Haha! Take that you son of a bitch!"
George laughed.
"I think we found him."
"So no plan?" George shook his head.
"Just divide and try to get points then", Sapnap stated.
George placed his hand to his head in mock salute.
"Aye aye captain." Sapnap rolled his eyes and took off towards the stairs of the wooden structure.
George approached a barrier to his right and ducked behind it.
Curses were shouted as the sound of people getting hit echoed around the room.
George popped his head up to quickly survey his surroundings. Punz was chasing after Sapnap, and Quackity was repeatedly shooting Karl in the chest. Dream was no where to be seen.
George made his move. He ran to the other side of the arena and ducked behind another barrier.
The small plastic sensor was mounted on the wall and George aimed his gun.
"What do you think you're doing George?"
Dream.
"Winning? What else would I be over here to do?" Dream chuckled.
"Oh George. You're not going to win."
George stood up from his crouching position.
"Oh yeah? Says who?" Dream took a step closer to him.
"Me." They were now almost nose to nose, but George wouldn't back down.
"Uh huh. And how, exactly, do you plan to do that?"
Dream smirked.
"Like this." Before George could comprehend what was happening, Dream was kissing him.
George couldn't help but kiss him back.
His lips were so soft.
George's back slammed against the concrete barrier as Dream pinned him against it, still not breaking the kiss.
George was so caught up in the moment- the adrenaline, the butterflies- that he didn't see Dream raising his laser gun towards George's vest.
The vest vibrated and a robotic voice said, "You have been shot. Your gun is timed out for 2 minutes."
Dream broke the kiss and stepped back, smiling.
"Dream, what the hell?" The blonde let out a loud laugh.
"Your face holy shit that was priceless!"
"Dream that's not fucking funny." George was burning with anger and embarrassment.
"Oh, but it was Georgie. See you around." Dream winked, and with that he was gone.
George stood there, shocked and surprised. Shocked at what had happened, and surprised that he had enjoyed it.
"Game over! Game over! Game over!" The robotic voice appeared on the loudspeaker, indicating the end of the game.
