“Alright everyone that's it for today. We will meet tomorrow at seven in the morning at the location. Please be on time, we only have the location for three hours”, the manager says towards you and the rest of the background dancers. You nod in response.
“We all want to go to a bar, do you want to come too?”, one of the other dancers asks you with a smile. You smile too but shake your head.
“Thanks for inviting me but I don't have time today.” The other dancer looks kinda sad but then nods and waves you goodbye. You exhale and close your eyes for a moment. It's been a long day and you are exhausted but also not. All you know is, you need to repeat the choreo a few more times because if not, you would mess up tomorrow.
So you leave the studio you are in right now and walk towards the one you booked earlier today. For a few minutes you take a break before you start again with trying to manage the choreo.
You are doing… not so well but at least you make some little progress. You think at least. Normally you are quite fast at learning choreos but this one will just not go into your head.
Suddenly you hear how the studio door opens. You stop in your movement just the music is still playing.
“I´m sorry for interrupting you but I booked the room from 9 to 11 p.m.” Now you turn around making eye contact with Hyunjin. The Hyunjin. Well it's not like you see him the first time, cause you are a background dancer for Stray Kids, still everytime you see him, you are flashed.
You clear your throat and nod.
“I'm sorry. I forgot the time. I will leave now”, you whisper being a bit shy because you never met him alone before. You are already running towards your backpack and your jacket when you hear his voice again.
“Isn't that our song? Where did you get that from?” He is looking at you with critical eyes. Of course he would not remember you. Well you didn't expect it anyways because they all meet so many people everyday it's obvious they can't remember all of their faces.
“I`m a background dancer for Stray Kids”, you explained shouldering your backpack.
“Oh my god, I'm sorry I didn't recognise you. You did change your haircolor that's why”, he says, laughing because he is quite embarrassed. And you? You stare at him surprised.
“Yes, that's right. I had blond hair before.”
“Yes, right! But blue suits you very much as well.” Even though he is wearing a mask, you can see his smile.
“Thank you.” For a moment you just stand there, looking at him and he does the same.
“By the way, why are you still here? Your training ended like two hours ago or so.” You nod lightly.
“That's right but my brain will just not learn the choreo and I don't want to mess up tomorrow.” Now Hyunjin finally enters the studio fully and closes the door behind him.
“Do you need help? I did the choreo together with Minho Hyung and our choreographer.” He takes off his jacket.
“I don't want to be a burden for you. You clearly wanted to train for yourself.” You try to get out of the situation. Not because you would not need the help but because you really felt you would be a burden.
“That's no problem. I have booked the studio till 11 p.m. that is enough time to help you and still do my stuff”, he explains, giving you a thumbs up. You let out a little sigh. To be honest, how could you say no to Hyunjin? So you nod lightly.
Immediately Hyunjin walks up towards the stereo and stops the music.
“Let me see what you already have so I know where we need to do some work.” As you nod, he starts the music from the beginning and you start dancing. You can feel his eyes on you, studying every move you do.
When you finished, you immediately glance towards the taller man. For a moment he says nothing and you already feel anxious but then he gives you a smile you can also see with him having the mask on.
"You are really good but I think I know where and why you have a problem with the parts of choreo."
He walks towards you stopping right next to you.
“We will dance the choreo together and I will stop you, when you do something wrong, is that alright?” Slowly you nod looking up to him. “Alright. Five, six, seven, eight”, he counts and then you two start to dance. You are quite nervous because he is next to you.
“And stop!” Surprised you stop in your movement and turn your head towards him. “Look how you are standing”, Hyunjin says calmly. Immediately you look down at your feets but you don't know what's wrong. Helpless you look up to him again and receive a soft smile from him. He comes closer to you and then is widing your feets. “Your feets are too narrow, that's why you fall nearly every time.” You facepalm yourself and make Hyunjin laugh. “Try again!”, he giggles. A little smile appears on your lips as you hear the cute sound Hyunjin just made. “Five, six, seven, eight.” You start again and this time you manage to do the part without nearly falling. Hyunjin starts clapping in tiny. He looks so soft doing it.
“You did it! Good job”, he tells you, giving you thumbs up.
“Thank you.”
Now the next part where you struggle. I will show you how it's actually danced and then you will try again.” Softly you nod at him, showing that you understood the assignment. He starts the music again and starts to dance. All you can do is stare at his movements that are full of energy. When he stops, you are shocked because you forgot to actually look at the choreo.
“Now it's your turn.” For a second you just stand there not doing anything. Your heart starts to pout faster. You will fail in front of Hyunjin.
“I-”, you start but become quiet.
Hyunjin studies you for a second.
“Do you want me to show it one more time?” You could cry. How can someone be so mindful? You start to smile and nod. This time he just counts and moves slower so you can see every move he is making more clear.
When he stops, his eyes fall on you and he looks curious. You breathe in deeply and close your eyes for a second.
“Five, six, seven, eight”, he starts counting and then you start to dance.
"You are moving wrongly", he whispers walking up behind you. Carefully he places one hand on your hip and one on your shoulder.
"Is this alright?", he asks unsure. All you can do is nod lightly. "Alright you have to move like this", he mumbles, leading you with his hands. To be honest it feels quite safe.
"I think, I got it now", you mutter, feeling hoe Hyunjin backs away.
"I think so too. Let's try one more time." You nod and dance again. As you dance your parts Hyunjin starts to clap his hands enthusiastically.
"You did it, you did it, you did it yeah", he shouts, making you laugh.
"Thank you for your help, Hyunjin", you say, bowing.
"It was nothing. I'm happy that I could help you", he replies smiling at you softly, while you nod.
"I will go now. I took enough of your time." For a second Hyunjin looks sad.
"Well I felt very comfortable just now. Would you… I mean you can say no too but… would you maybe stay a bit? Being the only one in this studio makes me feel lonely." You are surprised by his request but then you slightly nod.
"I think staying a bit longer will not hurt." Immediately a big smile forms on Hyunjins lips.
"Alright, make yourself comfortable on the couch." You return a smile towards him and sit down on the couch.
And he wasn't the only one that could feel the comfortability in the presents of the other one.
