"No, we're going to kick some ass," (Y/N) grinned, and Peter looked to her, softly. "What?" She asked confused.
"(Y/N), we should go..."
"Right, let's go —"
"You're not coming with me," Peter said. There was something telling him something wasn't right. It could be after loosing Aunt May his feelings were all twisted and turned, and he was more paranoid, but he didn't want to take the risk.
(Y/N) frowned, "I'm coming with you."
"No you're not," Peter shook his head.
"Yes I am."
"Why? It's too dangerous," Peter said, taking a step forward.
(Y/N) smiled sarcastically, "well, I'm coming with you. I know how to fight, and I know that we need to keep that safe."
"(Y/N), you're not coming with me!" Peter said, and leaned forward, kissing her lips. Immediately, she fell silent and kissed back, but the kiss was over before it began. "You're staying here," suddenly, he webbed her hand to the desk, and walked away, "I'm sorry, I love you, don't hate me!"
"PETER!" Snapped (Y/N) as the other Peter's followed, throwing her an apologetic look. She looked to MJ and Ned, and said, "give me a scalpel!"
(Y/N) stood with the box, and stood next to MJ, and Ned, staring out of the portal that Ned was desperately trying to close, and MJ was demanding him to close the portal, and hurry it up. She was now free of the webs, but MJ had kept a grasp on her.
"Any time today, Ned," snapped (Y/N), who had been keeping as calm as possible. Then, she froze, "guys?" Her eyes were suddenly locked with Dr. Connors eyes, The Lizard was growling and snarling, running at them, and she tensed up, seeing the argue. One thing was on her mind; get them out of harms way. "Guys! We should run!" She suddenly dragged Ned and MJ away from the portal, and in stormed Dr. Connors.
Suddenly, Peter - their Peter, Peter 1 - swung in, and slammed his foot into Dr. Connors face, as the other three ran, "run!" He yelled, as Dr. Connors flung him across the room, and the three dashed out of the portal, onto the construction of the statue of Liberty.
(Y/N) held MJ and Ned's hand, pulling them down the long stretch of walkway, that would eventually run out. All she had to do was keep the cube away from the Villains.
"Keep trying to open a portal!" Called (Y/N), as Dr. Connors was now right behind them.
Ned was frantically waving his arms about, "I'm trying! I'm trying!" Suddenly, a portal opened, and water gushed through, knocking Connors off his feet, while the three turned. As they turned, (Y/N) reached out, and grabbed the thermos bottle that was webbed up, and held Dr. Connors' antidote, and ran.
Peter saw, and called out to his girlfriend, "(Y/N)!"
(Y/N) looked over, and threw the antidote, and they watched as a cloud of green smoke covered The Lizard.
Ned let out a, "woah..."
(Y/N) looked to Ned, and held the box up, "we need to hide this thing!"
"Try again!" MJ said, looking to Ned.
"Oh, right!" Ned turned, and held his arms up, and waved them. Suddenly, a portal opened, and the three cheered, laughing, but that cheer suddenly stopped, as Dr. Strange walked through.
"Where is he?" Growled Dr. Strange, his arms up, and three jumped in, hands up in defence.
"Wait! Mr.! Dr. Strange, sir! Peter's plan is working!" Ned said, desperately.
"What plan?"
"He's curing them," (Y/N) explained.
They all turned, to see... not a lizard man, but a man.
"Well, I'll be damned," sighed Dr. Strange, and he turned to look at Ned, "did you just open a portal?"
"Yes, yes sir, I did..." Ned said, as (Y/N) looked around.
Dr. Strange hummed and nodded, walking off, and he —
"He took the box thing," (Y/N) said suddenly, watching him go.
MJ patted her back, "you did what you said, let's go..."
The two rushed off, with (Y/N) falling behind. What if Peter needed help still?
"(Y/N)?" MJ asked, stopping, and turning.
"It's just... what if Peter needs help still?" (Y/N) asked, "I came here to help..."
"Lets go," MJ said, annoyed.
(Y/N) looked up, and saw, "Goblin..." She got up, and ran forward, grabbing a metal bar, a loud laugh surrounded the area, as Goblin headed straight for Peter, her Peter, Peter 1! She sped up, raised her bar, and slammed it into Goblin's head with a loud twang, and watched in satisfaction as Goblin lost control, and spun off - he'd be back, but she had a few minutes.
"Really? You web me to a desk?" (Y/N) asked with a sarcastic huff, and Peter's eyes widened. "What are you, a caveman?"
"You shouldn't be here!" Peter said, his sides sore, his ribs might still be broken.
"You tie me up to go off to war?" Laughed (Y/N), annoyed. "I just want to help you!"
"What are you doing here?!" Yelled Peter, hands out in distress.
"He was coming at you!" She yelled, pointing in the general direction of where Goblin had be knocked to. "What if I wasn't here?!"
"You can't be here right now!" Yelled Peter, gently pushing (Y/N) away, "I'm not messing around. You can't be up here right now. This is insane."
"Nobody makes my decisions for me!" (Y/N) snapped, "all right? Nobody. This is my choice, okay." She was shuffling back still, as Peter was still gently pushing her away. "My choice. This is mine."
Peter 3 blinked, and swallowed, this is my choice... it's exactly what Gwen said before she... before she...
"Okay," Peter said. "Okay, but you need to —"
"CAN THE SPIDER-MAN COME OUT TO PLAY?!"
Peter looked over, and pushed (Y/N) behind him, "go! Now!"
"Okay! I'll get Ned and MJ to safety!" She yelled, and rushed off.
"WHAT?!" Peter yelled back, wondering why he agreed to date such a stubborn woman. But, then again, she's perfect and he wouldn't want it any other way.
(Y/N) rushed to Ned and MJ, "guys, you need to go! Goblin is here and he's —"
There was a loud explosion, Mystic Ruin's circled the sky, and suddenly, the Captain America shield fell to the ground with a creak, and bang, taking out the construction. The wood that (Y/N), MJ and Ned was standing on toppled, and Ned clung onto a piece of metal that stuck out, and MJ fell into the weak railing with a grunt, and clung to it, just in case it gave out.
(Y/N) wasn't too lucky.
You're falling.
Everything is in slow motion.
Your hair flying around your head, your clothes smacking your skin.
Peter Parker, as in your Peter Parker, the Original, your boyfriend, is falling after you, with his name on your lips. Though you can't quiet hear, it's all a bit of a blur, a haze. Peter stretched his hand out, and shot a web at you, and it spreads at the tip slightly. He manages to dodge Green Goblin, who was flying into his side, though it was difficult to do so, as the man was coming at him at high speeds.
All you do know, is that you've let out a sharp gasp, and tears running down your cheeks, wetting your (E/C) eyes. You didn't scream. You was in too much shock, your heart in your stomach. Your mouth was open slightly, as if wanting to scream, but gave in the beginning.
Peter 3 had turned, a look of horror on his face as if seeing a ghost, he knew the moment Peter 1 webbed your hand to the desk, he should have added reinforcements, and Peter 3 had turned, and was now setting off to run, as if ready to catch you, but he was too far away, even if he jumped.
But, your Peter, your Peter Parker, had a look of determination on his face, the web was getting closer, reaching out like a hand, fingers outstretched, grasping, reaching, desperate, and that's when you realised three fundamental truths at the exact same time.
If he does catch you with that web, you'll get whiplash, and most likely die from that, the jerk snapping your neck, and/or spleen, the next thing you realise, is the sudden drop from falling from the ledge would also likely kill you, or at the very least' psychologically "freeze" you and become unaware of your environment to the point you feel like you have died, the change was so sudden after all, but the final one was plain and simple. The final was clear, and easy... so simple, that you're surprised it didn't come to you first. Peter is not going to make it in time. Your body would slam into the ground with a loud crack.
You're going to die. And, you're strangely okay with that. You've accepted it.
Eyelashes wet, you close your eyes one last time.
Either way, you know when you've finished falling, whether your alive or not, when you open your eyes (wherever that may be), the first thing you'll see is your boyfriend, Peter Parker.
You gasp. You are ready to die.
The web snatches at your waist, catching you.
Too late.
A loud bang and crack echoes the suddenly quiet area, (Y/N)'s head smashing against the concrete ground, and body bouncing up due to the web now stuck to her waist, and Peter held onto the side of the construction stopping himself from falling, his fingertips dragging against it. Bricks, wood work, and metal stands fell around her with loud clatters like bell chimes, and loud thuds like a giants footfall. He swallowed, seeing her still, bent backwards, and limp, swaying from the web that held her in the air. He connected the web to the construction, and fell.
He fell down.
He landed with a quiet thud, and lifted (Y/N)'s body up softly, "(N/N)?" He whispered, swallowing, and pulled the web off, kneeling down. His arms were around her body softly, feeling and looking for life.
Peter 3 swallowed, and he had froze in on himself. All he could see was himself and Gwen, all he could see was himself holding Gwen in his arms, begging for her to come back, begging for her to be okay, and he looked to the older Peter, who looked back, eyes blank in shock, as if he hadn't expected for (Y/N) to die, he never expected it, since his (Y/N) was very much alive and well.
The Original Peter gently set (Y/N) down, "hey, (N/N)?" He took a shaky breath, holding her close, and swallowed. Her head was limp, falling back over his arm, her hair frayed out, and her arms limp at her sides. He gently caressed her face paling and peaceful face, "(Y/N)..." But, he got no response. He's lost his Aunt May... he's lost Mr. Stark... he can't loose her too. "Stay with me, please... y-you're okay..."
Blood.
Blood was falling.
Blood was trickling from (Y/N)'s nose, down the side of her face, standing out against her oddly pale face, that was usual (S/T). It was like cherries, or the colour of her lipstick she sometimes wore, and it made him sick. He placed a hand on the back of her hand, and paused, it was warm and sticky, and he felt her suddenly matted (H/C) hair.
More blood.
So much blood.
She wasn't okay... she was far from okay...
"(Y/N)?!" Peter sobbed, eyes red with tears. He's cried enough already, he didn't want to cry again. Tears fell down his cheeks, and his shoulders shook, "please!" He lowered his head, sobbing harshly, and buried his face in her still warm neck. This is all his fault. All of it.
And, he wasn't finished. He had to get back up and fight... but...
"I-I'll be back..." Sobbed Peter, sobbing until he was sick, and had a pounding headache, "I promise (Y/N)..."
Peter watched the "Original" Peter go back into battle, and looked at (Y/N). He saw Gwen again... all over again... and he was too late... again... he froze up...
He had watched himself and Gwen...
And nothing changed.
It was the same.
Even the same feeling...
Falling...
Peter Parker was forgotten. Really, he deserved it, and had just talked to Happy when visiting his Aunt May's grave, and the man obviously didn't remember him. And now, he stood in front of (Y/N)'s grave.
A loving daughter, and loyal friend.
Fallen and taken from this world, too fast.
He can't help but wonder is she remembers him, wherever she went. He hopes she does... he hopes she's okay... he hopes that she's not in pain, and doesn't completely hate him... and if she did, he'd deserve it... he ruined everything... he killed her... the blood of his girlfriend is on his hands...
"How did you know her?" Came a voice, and Peter looked over. It was (F/N), they never really hung out much, but (Y/N) was close with them.
"Oh, I'm... I'm an ex... just... came to say my goodbyes to her..." Peter said, and at (F/N)'s sceptical look, he said, "we didn't go out long... but, she was... nice..." An understatement, but he can't overdo it, and give it away they dated for more than a week, and he's liked her since the beginning. "You?" He asked, as if he didn't know the friend.
(F/N) stumbled out their explanation through shaky sobs, and looked down, "just... saying goodbye. I'm moving soon, and this is... is me saying goodbye for a final time."
Peter nodded, "well... good luck..."
"Thank you, and you..."
The next thing he knew, the leaves had fallen, and it was Christmas... again. A hole year. Bright greens for Spring, and hot days for Summer, Halloween Costumes in October, and again, woolly jumpers for Christmas for the next year.
Peter still hadn't moved, staring down at the grave. His feet were practically grained into the ground below him. He didn't even notice the passing days, and seasons, and days blurred into one, as life suddenly seemed on fast forward.
He misses her. He misses her lovely (E/C) eyes, and her soft smile. He misses how stubborn she was. How after she patched him up, he'd given each one a kiss, and sure, it was a placebo affect, but his wounds never felt better. Now all he has of her are messages on his phone, through calls, face times and texts, with the occasional email from when they were at school, and slowly fading memories, that would sometimes change slightly, and of course, the recurring nightmares.
He's falling. His web is chasing after (Y/N).
(Y/N) is falling, she's crying.
He's too late.
He's always too late...
