The Sunny is busting with joyous cheer. If the Strawhats knew how to do anything it was party and party they did, no matter the occasion. The deck was a lively scene as the clock ticked down to the New Year. Zoro sat alone, doctoring a drink as he watched the rest of his friends enjoy themselves. Normally he would be amongst the chaos but he was content just taking it all in tonight. It had been a long, trying year with everything they've accomplished and he was more than happy to take a break.
"Hey, dumbass. Too good for the rest of us?"
Zoro looks up to see Sanji standing over him with a fresh bottle of sake.
"Shut up, shithead, and fill my drink already," Zoro growls, holding his mug out.
Sanji rolls his eyes, tsking the swordman's rude behavior but decides to grant his wish. He watches for a moment as the moss head takes a long swig. There's an awkward silence, an unsettling contrast to the outrageous commotion around them.
Then Sanji does something that surprises Zoro.
He takes a seat right beside him and takes a swig from the bottle himself.
"It's been crazy hasn't it?" Sanji speaks up, his eyes focused on the others.
"Hm?" Zoro glances sideways at him, wondering what he's getting at
"I mean. Everything. Our time together. The adventures we've been on so far. Did you ever imagine doing half the things we've done?"
"Yeah, sure," Zoro answers flatly, narrowing his gaze as Sanj scoots closer. "Get to the point, moron."
Sanji puffs up, his head spinning around to glare at Zoro. The swordsman notices how red the other's cheeks are. What was wrong with him?
"Zoro...you are such a damn...meathead!" Sanji snaps, looking more frustrated by the second.
It finally clicks in Zoro's head and a smirk crosses his lips. He reaches out and cups Sanji's chin before pulling him closer. Sanji's eyes grow wide. The crew cheers as the clock chimes. The world melts away as two mouths meet, locked in a passionate embrace. Cheers to a New Year. Cheers to a new beginning.
