Class 1-A's new friend

Summary:

Moving into the dorms was an exciting experience for all the students of class 1-A, but they weren't expecting one of their teachers to bring their child along. Join the students as they experience the joys of babysitting a six year old

Notes:

I was at an impasse with my other story, so I figured I'd write little stories of this adorable child my brain thought up. I'd be open to requests if y'all want to suggest anything, but I also have a few ideas I wanna do for this. Most of the stories shouldn't need any content warnings, but if they need them I'll be sure to put them in.

Enjoy!!

Chapter 1: The kid said you're it, so obviously you're it

Chapter Text

The students of Class 1-A had spent the day unpacking their belongings into their dorm rooms. Which would now be their home until they moved up a year. It was a little strange and scary being away from their families for the first time for such a reason, but they knew everything would be fine. Aizawa-sensei had disappeared after making his speech, leaving the kids to roam free. Maybe it would be a mistake, who knew.

Mezo was the first person to finish setting up his room as there wasn’t much to put up. He decided to head downstairs and explore the dorm building a little more. Everyone had started on their room immediately, so no one had been able to properly tour the building. Mezo stepped out of the elevator and headed towards the kitchen.

And was met with the sight of a child trying to climb on the counters using one of the dining room chairs.

Mezo didn’t know what to do. The only people staying in the dorm were the students of 1-A. Aizawa-sensei had told them he would be in the teacher’s dorm, which meant only twenty people were living in the dorms. And a small child was most definitely not one of them. Maybe this kid was one of the teacher’s children? Mezo figured he should probably inform the teachers of the loose child in the building.

And then the child made it onto the counter and began eyeing the fridge. Mezo realized that it would be irresponsible to leave a child alone when they’re climbing on the counters, so he decided to remove the child before they got hurt. Mezo entered the kitchen, and the child happened to turn their head and spot him. Their eyes widened in a way that Mezo recognized would be fearful, but to his surprise, there was a smile on the kid’s face as well.

“You’re tall!” The kid kneeled on the counter, moving to step back onto the chair. Mezo watched as she crawled down to the floor, running over to him and pointing at his face. “You’re taller than my daddy!” He was taller than the majority of the teachers, so that didn’t eliminate many choices for who her parent was. Mezo decided to kneel down to her level.

“What are you doing here?” He asked. The kid stared at him in awe, which was new for Mezo. Normally kids were afraid of him, due to his size and his mouth. It was a relief that there was one kid who didn’t seem afraid of him.

The kid reached forward and grabbed his mask with her hands. This was going to end badly, Mezo realized. He moved to remove her hands from his mask before she scarred herself with the sight of him. But as he reached his hands up, she pulled down the mask, revealing his monstrous face. Oh no. He braced himself for the screams he was anticipating, but to his surprise, he just feels a small hand brush against his face.

“Your face is smooth.” That wasn’t the reaction he was expecting. The kid kept stroking his cheek, staring at him. Mezo wasn’t too sure what to do in this situation.

“Um, where are your parents?” The kid stopped stroking his cheek and looked up at him.

“I don’t know where daddy went. Auntie Nemuri was watching me, then she needed to do something, and Mr. Snipe was watching me, but he’s weird so I left and went outside.” That was a little concerning. “And then I saw this building and wanted to explore. Wanna play tag mister?” Mezo sighed and shook his head.

“We should get you back to the teacher’s dorms.” He stood up and turned to the door, gesturing for her to follow. He felt a tap on his hand, so he assumed she was following. He made it to the door before he heard the elevator ding. Turning to the elevator, he expected to see one of his classmates step out. But instead, he watched as the kid stepped into the elevator, pressed a button, and the doors began to close.

“Tag! You’re it!”

When Ochako learned that she would be living in the dorms with her classmates, never did she think that she would get a text from her class group chat about a small child running around the building. But here she was, chasing down a small child with the rest of her classmates. Except for Iida, who went out to notify the teachers about the child. She was surprisingly fast and managed to evade them all, even when they were using their quirks. Was this because of her quirk, or was this kid just good at tag?

Either way, Ochako was close on her tail. They were back on the first floor, and the kid was dashing around the room, hopping onto the couches and cutting underneath the tables, giggling as she did so. Ochako was struggling to keep her breath from how long she’s been chasing the kid. This was a workout trying to catch the kid.

The kid took a turn and pushed open the door to the women’s bath. Ochako followed in after her, trying to be careful not to slip into the bath. The kid however kept running, and she took a turn wrong and slipped. Ochako watched as the kid slipped on the edge of the bath and fell into the water. Ochako jumped into the tub, making her way over to where the kid had fallen in. She pulled the kid up, the kid coughing and spitting up water. The door opened behind her, and she turned to see Ashido and Hagakure standing in the doorway.

“I caught her!” She walked to the edge of the tub where Ashido had run over. “We’ll probably need a new set of clothes for her.” Ashido nodded and picked up the kid, taking her over to the towels by the door. Hagakure had run off, probably to get Momo for new clothes, and Ochako climbed out of the tub. She now needed to change and dry off as well. This was certainly an exciting way to start dorm life.

Momo helped the child get dressed into a pink dress that she created while Ashido dried her hair. Momo was hoping for Iida to return soon, the child’s parents had to be worried sick.

“So, what’s your name?” Ashido asked. The kid turned her head as best as she could towards Ashido and gave her a big smile.

“I’m Sayu! What’s your name?” Ashido gave Sayu a big smile in return.

“I’m Ashido Mina, and the girl across from me is Yaoyorozu Momo.” Sayu turned to her and gave her a wave.

“Hiya!” Momo gave her a wave back and a small smile. Ashido removed the towel from Sayu’s head and tossed it over to the laundry basket.

“Alrighty, let’s go out and see if Iida’s back with your parents!” The three of them stood up and walked out of the bath. Sayu reached up and took a hold of Momo and Ashido’s hands and started swinging her arms. The two looked down at her and smiled, swinging their arms in time with Sayu.

“Uncle Hizashi and daddy hold my hands when we walk, and sometimes they lift me up.” To Momo, it was obvious what Sayu wanted. She made eye contact with Ashido, who nodded, and the two raised their arms up to swing Sayu. She let out a squeal of enjoyment, and the two repeated the action a couple more times as they made their way to the common room where everyone else who had finished up their rooms were lounging around. Uraraka had returned with a fresh set of clothes.

“Hey little dudette!” Kirishima waved as the three entered the room. “That was a great game of tag!” Sayu giggled at the praise. “What’s your name?”

“I’m Sayu!” She released Momo’s hand and gave her classmates a wave.

“Nice name. I’m Kirishima.” Her classmates began to introduce themselves to Sayu.

“So, what made you come over here?” Sato asked.

“Daddy had something to do and left me with Auntie Nemuri,” Sayu recounted. “But Auntie Nemuri had to do something, so she left, and then Mr. Snipe was watching me, but he’s bad at taking care of me, so I decided to explore.” The classmates looked around at each other.

“Well, at least we know Snipe-sensei isn’t her dad.” Kaminari commented. Momo nodded in agreement, then watched as Tokoyami walked up to the front door.

“It seems that Iida has returned with Aizawa-sensei.” The other classmates turned their heads as Aizawa burst into the building.

“Sayu!”

“Daddy!” Aizawa was her father? He ran up to her and kneeled down, wrapping Sayu into a tight hug that she reciprocated.

“Christ Sayu, you can’t run off like that. You scared me.” He pulled back and looked down at her appearance. “You weren’t wearing a dress this morning.”

“Ah, sorry sensei.” Momo rushed to explain. “She was running from us when we were trying to take her to the teacher’s dorms, and she slipped in the women’s bath and fell in. Her other clothes are in the laundry room and I created her dress.” Aizawa sighed and nodded, turning back to Sayu.

“You shouldn’t be running near baths. You might get hurt if you aren’t careful.” Sayu nodded.

“I was just playing tag.” Aizawa’s brow quirked up as she said this.

“Did you ask them if you could play tag with them?” Sayu nodded, then she shook her head, bringing her hands up to her face.

“I forgot to ask.” Aizawa reached forward and ruffled Sayu’s hair.

“You have to remember to ask first. My students were trying to get you back to me before I got worried about you.” Sayu’s head snapped up.

“You were worried?” Aizawa nodded. “B-but, Mr. Snipe wasn’t watching me and-”

“Hold up, Snipe was watching you?” Sayu nodded. “I gave you to Thirteen. Why was Snipe watching you?” Jiro took this opportunity to speak.

“Thirteen is her aunt?” Aizawa whipped his head around to Jiro as she said this. “Sayu said her auntie Nemuri was watching her.”

“Who gave you to Midnight?” The students could see that there was obviously a lack of communication with the teachers today. Aizawa sighed and rubbed his face with his hand, pinching the bridge of his nose. “That doesn’t matter right now. I’ll get your clothes and take you back to your room, kid.” Sayu perked up at this.

“My boxes were found?” Aizawa nodded.

“Yeah, I finally figured out where they went.” Sayu squealed again and hopped in place, clapping the palms of her hands together. “I’ll grab your clothes and then we’ll head over, okay?”

“I got them.” Ojiro appeared around the corner, holding a plastic bag with Sayu’s clothes. “The dryer hadn’t been started yet, so I put them in a bag.”

“Who didn’t start the damn dryer?!” Bakugo yelled, popping small explosions off from his palms. Aizawa glared at him, activating his quirk.

“It doesn’t matter who forgot to turn on the dryer right now. I’m gonna take Sayu now.” He turned back to Sayu and wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her as he stood. “Did you thank Yaoyorozu for the dress?” Sayu whipped her head towards Momo and gave her another big smile.

“Thank you for the dress Miss Momo!” Momo smiled and gave Sayu a small wave once more. Ojiro handed Aizawa the bag and walked off towards the doors as Sayu recounted her tag adventures to her father. After the two left, Sero broke the silence.

“So Aizawa-sensei’s a dad, huh?”
