Some days the name on his wrist – proof that someone out there was meant to see him as worthy – was the only thing that kept him together. Especially after Blaviken. But for all the ridicule and all the assumptions and jeers and snide remarks over all his long years of life, for some reason it was Jaskier’s shock at him having a name that found a way to really wound his heart.
“Y-you…what?” the bard splutters over the flames of their evening fire. Looking as though he had just been hit with a confounding spell and shoved off a cliff.
“I have a name on my wrist. Same as you. Same as anyone.”
