Chapter Text
“Running. I remember that, in a forest back home. I think someone, or at least something, was chasing me. And after that, I was here.”
“What else do you remember, about your home-world?”
“Well, I grew up in a farming community. We were safe there, just growing and harvesting carrots, potatoes, and mushrooms. Then they came, and took some of us away. I don’t remember who they were, or why they did that, but they weren’t very good gnomes. They brought corruption to our land. When they came, they said something about a prophecy and the ‘chosen gnome’, supposedly that was one of us. After that, I don’t really remember anything.
“Wait! There is one more thing; their faces. The faces of the not-yet corrupted gnomes. They were terrified, looking at me. One of them told me to run. They all must be corrupted now. My home-world was pretty small, housing the last of all gnomes. Corruption spread fast, as we all know.”
“Anything else about the prophecy?”
“It was something about one gnome being the savior, the chosen one, whatever you want to call it. A gnome who leaves their world behind to save the others. I think it’s about me. There was something else about wolves, and a warning. I don’t remember the warning.”
“We’re all doomed.”
