Work Text:

"are you holding still holding grudges against me? Or will you forgive me?" She stood there as she asked, speech a bit slow, definitely calmer then the tyrant of a puppet he knew the shogun, he couldn't make out what she felt, how her posture was or her expressions. Not even through the wind that blew by,the rustling grass beneath the feet,he couldn't even make out who those feet belonged to at the moment. His back still Infront of her,not being able to face her.

"Do,," he started speaking, ever so quite and calm, the only calming thing being the soft breezes of wind that gush by. He sighed. "Do you want me to be honest?" He spoke out in his usual demeanour, as he finally faced the shogun- no, ei, not some tyrannical puppet but somebody who experienced lost and suffering, somebody who had fear in them and only wanted to do what was right in their perspective, something with good intentions.

"Of course I do" she answered, her look, her emotions and posture still so unknown and blurry to him. "Well" he let out a sigh as he looked on the ground, inhaling deep before continuing. " I do not hold grudges against you,you acted out of grief and suffering, out of fear and loss, out of concern. I understand your intentions, I" he let out a shaky sigh, closing his eyes."I to some degree understand your loss, understand the grief"
He looked her in the eyes,as she patiently listend "however that does not excuse your actions, you have caused more harm than good even with your intentions. You enabled her and let her contiue the tyranny.i do not hold grudges agints you for that" another sigh escaped his mouth as he continued to talk, tounge feeling heavy in his own mouth. "I truly hoped you learned from this, that you can learn from this and let history not repeat itself." He look her in the eyes, meaning every word.he truly did not feel grudges agints her,he came a place of understanding. It made his inability to forgive her truly more painful.
"And for forgiveness,i-" He looked back onto the ground " I do not even know if I should be one for forgiving or not. But as much as I try to tell my self to forgive you,I cannot, I simply cannot forgive you for enabling and letting her kill so many inocents, endangered many, strip them of their ambitions" he shook his head and gave out a quite chcukel "grief itself, is hard to overcome, hard to forgive. My sincere apology"he could not forgive himself, not being able to forgive her.

Ei herself let out a sigh, inhaling air deep herself before speaking. "Thank you, for your understanding. You do not have to forgive me, not when I caused you the grief you suffer now. I" she stutter over her own words "I try my best to understand,to,to do better. I won't let history repeat itself" she nod.
