Being an unbonded omega in the NHL has never really been seen as a good thing. Some fans still have their biases about it, and even some team owners do too. Unless an omega is a fucking superstar of a player, the NHL does not care about them at all.
So when Luca arrives in Ottawa, he’s expecting some not-so-great treatment from his teammates and coaches. It’s nothing he’s not used to back home in the Swiss junior leagues or even on the international stage.

When Ilya woke up, he was expecting to see his husband’s face- the morning light shining through the windows and hitting the features of his beloved just right as if caressing him as Ilya would. He thought he would hear some pattering downstairs, courtesy of Anya waking up and stretching about while she waited for her Papa to wake up and walk her. Ilya was also expecting to be a little sore from his and Shane’s activities last night as they celebrated their final game before the mandatory Christmas break.
