When in Rome

Summary:

Just a little fic unrelated to anything. Lots of cliche and a bit of fun.

Work Text:

Aziraphale and Crowley stood with an influential Greek couple at a party in ancient Greece. They were each supposed to be swaying the humans to their respective sides. After the first hour enjoying the company they somewhat forgot about their purpose and spent the evening enjoying the wine.

The woman, Daphne, said, "Aeneas will be going to Rome next month to trade in the market. I plan on traveling with him and make a bit of a holiday of it."

"Oh that sounds delightful!" Aziraphale exclaimed.

Crowley leaned closer and discreetly hissed at Aziraphale, "I don't want to go all the way to Rome to tempt these people."

Aziraphale waved a dismissive hand at him. "I hear that Rome is lovely at this time of year." It became apparent that Aziraphale was keen on the idea of a Roman holiday.

"Oh yes," Daphne continued, "it is fantastic."

"Well then, I think we simply must give it a go." Aziraphale seemed very pleased.

Crowley grumbled. "What's so great about Rome?"

"Oh well art, culture, philosophy you know." Aziraphale leaned towards him. "Also, you know, when in Rome, do as the Romans do." He grabbed the back of Crowley's head and pulled him in. Giving him a deep and full kiss on the lips before letting go.

Crowley froze. It took him a moment, Daphne smiling and Aeneas looking awkwardly at the suddenly very interesting decor. Crowley's brain finally recovered from the shock and he looked back at Aziraphale. He was sipping his wine and smiling like the cat that caught the canary.

"Well," Crowley said, "Rome could be very interesting."
