‘Hey Tommy, did you know I have a subgoal? If I hit it, imma sing on stream.’
’Really?’ Tommy asked, not paying attention. ’THAT WAS BULLSHIT!’ He wailed when someone punched him off the edge in Bedwars.
‘That was fair,’ Lola countered. She moved her character towards his and threw some stuff at him. ‘Here, take these.’
Her voice was louder than ever (it was proximity chat) and it made Tommy’s face heat up.
He slumped forward to hide his blush as he blurted into his mic, ‘I love you.’
Lola sounded like she was laughing when she said back, ‘I love you too, we’re best friends.’
Tommy would have yelled ‘WHAT THE F-‘ if he hadn’t wanted to keep up an appearance.

Tommy and Lola were playing Minecraft when a ding rang out from Lola’s computer.
Lola hesitated before saying solemnly, ‘Thank you KitKat for helping me achieve my subgoal.’
Tommy positively shrieked. ‘You’re gonna sing on stream!’
’Yes, I’m gonna sing on stream. I’m going to choose my song by next week. You watching?’
Tommy would have screamed ‘yes’ but he still had to keep up an appearance. ‘Okay, but only for the fans.’
Chat went crazy on both ends.
‘Chat, why are you spamming “Lolainnit”?’ Lola asked.
Tommy’s heart stopped.
Lola’s text-to-speech bot read out a donation: ‘You and Tommy are a thing, did you not know?’
Tommy buried his face in his hands.
‘What?’ Lola demanded. ‘No, we’re not a thing! We’re just good friends, aren’t we, Tommy!’
’Uhh… I do love you, you know?’ Tommy stuttered out. Chat spammed ‘softyinnit’.
Lola smiled. ‘I know. We’re friends for life, right?’
Chat groaned.

Lola had a beautiful voice.
It was genuinely the first time Tommy had realised it.
Right now, Tommy was listening to Lola sing ‘Play’ by Alan Walker.
Why she’d chosen a love song, no one knew.
When she’d finished, everyone on the call clapped.
Lola waited for a while before announcing, ‘I’m going to America to do a meet-up.’
Chat went crazy.
Bad giggled. ‘Can’t wait to meet you!’
Chat went even crazier if it was possible.
Tommy groaned. ‘What about me?’
Lola smiled. ‘Maybe next time. You’re so impatient.’
Chat spammed ‘L’.
Tommy whined. ‘But I love you!’
Everyone in the call and in chat screamed as if they’d seen a rat.
Lola rolled her eyes. ‘What’s wrong with platonic love?’
Tommy sighed.

Tommy watched as Lola waved at her viewers - including Tommy. ‘So, chat, I’m at the airport as you can see. My plane to America is due in an hour or so. I’m early.’
Tommy sent her a donation.
Lola read it out loud. ‘Don’t go, I love you crying emoji. Aww, that’s sweet, thank you Tommy. We’re really good friends, aren’t we?’
Tommy facepalmed.

Lola and Tommy were on a discord call.
’Lola, how are liking Florida?’ Tommy asked her.
’It’s hot.’ Lola deadpanned. ‘But Dream and Sap are nice.’
’Ok - WAIT YOU MET DREAM IRL?’ Tommy demanded.
‘I’m staying with them right now. DREAM, SAY HI!’ Lola bellowed.
’HI!’ Dream yelled offscreen.
‘Hey, is Dream good looking?’ Tommy asked.
’I dunno, I’m not the best at judging looks,’ Lola said.
Tommy muttered, ‘don’t get attached, I love you.’
Lola smiled. ‘I know. We’re besties, right?’
Tommy didn’t know how to react anymore.

’Lola?’ Bad asked.
’Yes?’ Lola replied.
’Tommy’s head over heels in love with you.’ Bad said.
’What? No way. It’s platonic, right?’ Lola asked.
Bad shook his head. ‘No. Romantic.’
Lola gaped. ‘Oh my god. So all those times he said “I love you”…’
Bad nodded.
Lola watched as Bad dug out his phone and showed her a recording of Tommy.
’Bad, can you please show this to Lola?’ Video recorded Tommy asked. A short period of silence before he said, ‘Lola, if you’re watching this, I just want you to know that I love you, romantically. I’ll understand if you don’t love me back, just wanted to tell you this.’
Lola hesitated before pulling out her phone and sent a text.
Watched and accepted. I love you too.
