Chapter Text
"I like your cape."
An unfamiliar voice said out of the blue, snapping Naib out of his little bird watching. He turned to the direction the voice came from, to look for who the voice belonged to.
He saw a child the same as him standing there, dressed in a simple dark blue, long sleeved shirt with matching pants, brown shoes and a long light brown scarf. He had a blindfold on which was a bit odd, he never saw anything like that before and some sort of markings on his cheeks. Brown, messy hair was on top of his head as well.
"It's quite beautiful."
The boy chirped before he tilted his head and held his hand out.
"There's something you should see that I want to show you."
Naib was hesitant for a few seconds but it didn't took long for him to come around. He went closer and held his hand, prompting the boy to gently pulled him along and ran up the sandy hill covered with tiny flowers.
"It's not far!"
When they reached the top, the boy let go of his hand and sat down, looking up at the stars. Naib sat down beside him, following his action on watching the stars.
"Can you hear them?"
The sky child was confused at what he said. What did he meant by that?
He looked beside him at the boy, who was still focused on the night sky then stood up to which he followed suit. Then the boy patted his head, making Naib cooed in content. He always liked headpats.
"Follow me!"
Off the boy ran down the hill, Naib yelping at the sudden action as he followed after him. The boy continued to run across the desert, towards a garden just overhead. Naib had a hard time catching up, the boy was too fast and probably a bit too excited at finding a new friend.
"Can't catch me!"
He giggled as he kept running. Naib stumbled a bit but tried to keep up. They continued to run until they reached the very middle of the garden. The brunette child turned around to face the skychild.
"Lets play a game."
A game?
"Close your eyes. Count to five."
Oh, he knows this game all too well. He covered his eyes and counted, motioning his head left and right as he did. He looked back and forth when he finished, to see the boy nowhere to be found. He couldn't help but smile as he ran around to find him.
Soon, he saw a glimpse of dark blue just behind a few rocks. He ran towards it and sure enough, the boy was there, crouching in place and covering his head.
He patted his head gently. The boy peeked and stood up, only to let out a fit of giggles. Naib started to laugh along with him, his laughter too infectious.
"I'm not that good, am I?"
He smiled at Naib.
"Let me try again."
And so their game of hide and seek continued. This time, he seemed to have hid in the garden. As Naib tried to find him, he was also exploring around in the process, watching in awe as some flowers blossomed when he walked close to them.
He found the boy again and patted his head, prompting for the brunette to stand up. They shared another laugh together.
"Lets play once more."
Naib didn't mind that. He nodded and covered his eyes again. Seems like the boy was getting better, as Naib struggled a tiny bit to find him. It didn't took him long to find him near the gazebo of the garden, hiding behind a little structure with birds flying around above him.
The boy laughed again, Naib laughing along.
"You are good at this!"
He walked forward as he looked around with Naib on tow.
"This is a curious kingdom."
He turned around at his newfound friend and tilted his head.
"I wonder if there are grown-ups here?"
He soon yawned before stretching.
"I must keep exploring."
He looked up at the birds flying over him, giving a small motion as if to tell them to gather together. Then, he looked back at Naib and smiled, giving a small wave before he took a hold of the strings attached to the birds, letting himself fly off with them.
Naib watched the boy flew off and disappeared into the clouds. He hoped he can see him again.
Once upon a time, there was a little prince who lived on a planet hardly bigger than he was, and who needed a friend..
In a far distant, small planet, a single, lone daffodil stayed inside a glass dome.
"On days like these,"
"I think fondly back..."
"My friend who explores the skies."
"The kindness he shared tending to me."
"And so, I await his return..."
