Kim Dokja? Where are you?! Text me back rn

Summary:

This is a highschool-au fic. A chatfic spesifically where all Kim Dokja's friends try to make him love himself despite him being a snarky rat, because i just thought it could be fun.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kim Dokja is loved, but he doesn't know that. Yet.

In this story you'll see a bunch of teenagers try their best to make him realize.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
This is purely self-indulgent and mostly really lighthearted convo's between besties.
If you could call death threats a sign of showing affection that is.
Set in modern setting because I could not, for the love of God, handle everything that's happening in the novel.

Notes:

Sooooo, currently obsessing and crying over ORV rn. That shit messed me up, and I think it's my time to write something for this masterpiece of a webnovel. If you haven't read it, pls do. It's so good and rlly angsty lmao.

In this first chapter I'd like to introduce one of the first constellations to sponsor Dokja, Sun Wukong.
In this setting Wukong is on his last year of highschool whereas Dokja is in his first.

The reason why Wukong keeps calling him Maknae despite not actually being the youngest in the group is because they were in the same school since elementary. They had different friend groups back then, coincidentally Dokja was always the youngest, so Wukong started to call him Maknae-ya out of habit and it eventually stuck for years.

I just wanted to say these two are really adorable, Maknae-ya is literally the cutest nickname ever, I love the both of them sm, so I'd say this is off to a great start.

Enjoy reading, this is set in Dokja's POV

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Wukong-hyung, it's fine

Chapter Text

Wukong-hyung: Maknae-ya.

Me                   : Yeah, Hyung?

Wukong-hyung: Oh, you actually responded. I thought you wouldn't since it's time for you to be in
                          class.

Me                   : Hahah, yeah Hyung, I'm secretly texting you back rn. Hopefully the teacher won't
                          catch me.

Wukong-hyung: Hey, hey. Don't go ignoring your teacher because of me now. I'm not going to get you
                          out of trouble again Maknae-ya.

Me                   : Hehehe, really Hyung? That's what you always say, but you end up covering for me
                          anyways, lol.

Wukong-hyung: Ugh, you're sometimes so endearingly annoying Maknae-ya.

Me                   : Really? Lol, thought I'm just annoying to you.

Wukong-hyung: You know that's not true right? That's never true, Dokja-ya.

Me                   : Eh? What are you getting so serious about Hyung, I'm just playing around lol.

Wukong-hyung: ....
Wukong-hyung: Still...I just wanted to remind you. Keep in mind that you are always valued Dokja-ya
Don't let anyone tell you anything else.

Me                   : Ahhh, you're lecturing me now. But there's honestly nothing that could bring
me down, Hyung. I'm basically a God. Those shitty assholes will stop hurting me once they
see how amazing of a person I am. My charm is elite Hyung.

Wukong-hyung: Wait

Me                   : Eh, shit no, I meant something else, Hyung.

Message deleted.

Wukong-hyung: Dokja-ya.

Wukong-hyung: Dokja-ya, are they still bothering you? Are they still hurting you?

Me                   : No, no Hyung. I was joking. They just pestered me like any other typical bully
would. Honestly, they only asked me for my homework, that's all. Nothing extreme.

Wukong-hyung: I want to trust you, Dokja-ya. But I also don't want you to lie to Hyung if I just
                         let it go.

Me                   : But I'm not lying. Why would I lie to you, Hyung? I wouldn't want to in the first
                         place.

Wukong-hyung: Okay, okay.
Wukong-hyung: Just hear me out okay? If anyone gives you more trouble than you can handle,
always know that you can come to Hyung. Alright? Dokja-ya?

Me                   : Yeah. I always knew that, Hyung. I can honestly tell you nothing's wrong, so I don't
need it at the moment. But, thank you. Wukong-Hyung. I really appreciate it.

Me                   : So why don't we just talk about something else, Hyung? We're both being really sappy
rn and I don't think I can handle it any longer hshshsh.

Wukong-hyung: ....alright.

Me                   : Alright! Has anything interesting happened to you lately Hyung?

Wukong-hyung: Well, just this week I was in a kareoke with a bunch of my drunk roomates right?

Me                  : Oooh, I can just feel the dumbassery coming.

Wukong-hyung: Pssh, yeah. You can call it dumb, alright. So there was this one girl that came up
to us and my friend ended up wanting to be the one to 'woo' her.

Me                   : Bet he tripped and fell right in front of her.

Wukong-hyung: He did! It was honestly so hilarious Maknae-ya. My friend immediatly tripped right in
front of her, and his drink fell all over her dress. You should've seen the look on
                         her face.

Me                   : Lol, how lame. He probably tried hooking you up after to save himself from the
                         embarrassment, right Hyung?

Wukong-hyung: Pfft, you are, once again one hundred percent correct my favourite Hoobae. He had the
gall to pull my sleeve towards her so I could be the one getting him her number. And
                         guess what?

Me                   : She immediatly winked at you an smoothed out her hair?

Wukong-hyung: Hahaha, you're right. Love the fact that you can predict my story. Guess my week
wasn't as interesting as I thought. How was yours then, Maknae-ya?

Me                   : It's been just peachy. Pretty boring actually Hyung.

Wukong-hyung: Awh, come on. I just know you have something interesting to tell. Kim Dokja doesn't
really fit the boring life category.

Me                   : Well, maybe there is this one story.

Wukong-hyung: See? You have one. I want to hear it, Dokja-ya. But honestly I think it's time to
for you to pay attention to class. Wouldn't want your teacher to make a fuss.

Me                   : Awh, man. I...guess you're right Hyung.

Wukong-hyung: The fact that you're not caught yet astounds me.

Me                   : Look who you're talking to Hyung. A literal God.

Wukong-hyung: Heh, okay then, God-ssi. I'm interested in listening to your story at recess.

Me                   : Eh? Didn't you have plans with your friends this lunch, Hyung?

Wukong-hyung: Our friends. Dokja-ya.

Me                   : Right.

Wukong-hyung: Hyung is serious, Dokja-ya. And it's alright, I already told them to go ahead later.
I'd like to listen to my Hoobae tell his story. I think it's worth my whole attention.
Me                   : God, you're so weird Wukong-Hyung...

Me                   : But, thanks. I'd like that, actually.

Wukong-hyung: That's exactly what Hyung wants to hear. Meet Hyung later on the rooftops. Alright, Dokja-ya?
Me                   : Okay, Hyung. See you then. Shit, I should go now, the teacher's starting to look at
                         me weird.

Wukong-hyung: Alright, alright. Tell me if they're giving you a hard time Dokja-ya. Hyung wishes you the best for the rest of the lesson.

Me                   : Okay, Hyung. Gtg. See you later.

Notes:

This is honestly just a reason to write Dokja & Wukong fluff.

Maknae-ya has been ringing in my head for weeks. It's making me weak.
