Work Text:
Trey didn't know what to think, seeing Riddle like this.
Thigh high boots, sheer tights, high cut short shorts of a pleather material, it was all too much. The sheer blouse with top button undone showed an obscene amount of collarbone. An underbust corset with a long train of sheer organza added haute dramatics to the silhouette. This wasn't like the Riddle he was used to.
Black lipstick giving a poisonous bite, matching the sinister glare of eyes darkened with heavy makeup.
But something about it fit so well. Riddle looked stunning, absolutely breathtaking. But most of all, he looked like he was having fun. Trey felt his breath caught in his throat as he was mesmerized by the smaller boy.
"Ready to go?"
The question caught Trey off guard. He was so fixated on Riddle's appearance that his sudden speaking startled him.
"Uhh… yeah, I think so."
It was then that Riddle gleefully grabbed Trey's hand and dragged him off, his jet black heels clacking on the floor.
…
It felt so foriegn, so new. Trey knew he'd be in for something strange, but he wasn't quite prepared.
The atmosphere of the room matched Riddle's darker appearance. A blacklight and purple lighting lit up the scene as fog machines blurred open eyes.
The eclectic beat of the music already made the smaller boy's hips sway. It bounced and grooved with dark beats as the backdrop for lyrics of heavy romanticism.
Trey couldn't help but feel on edge as Riddle pulled him into a dance. Entangled together, moving in time with the music, it felt as if the outside world disappeared. Something about this new side of Riddle made Trey feel hot and his chest heaved. The dance pulled them closer, Riddle's hips against Trey and their chests together. As they moved in time with the song the dance became more and more sensual.
Lyrical content full of dark desire and beats dripping with lust made sent chills down Trey's spine, contrasting with the heat he felt from the dance. It had such an intimate, sensual feel that hit harder than the explicitness he was used to from songs about similar subjects of other genres.
Suddenly, Riddle pulled away. Trey was confused from the sudden separation.
He noticed Riddle's heavy panting, sweat dripping on glistening skin. In this lighting, he looked so ghostly it felt unreal. The heaving of his chest made him look so fragile in contrast to his sinisterly powerful and dreadfully seductive appearance.
"Why don't we take a break and get a drink?"
Trey gave a nod, his throat dry.
…
As they sat in the booth in waiting, Riddle grabbed Trey's hand.
"I was surprised when I saw the fliers Azul put out for a goth night, and even more surprised at how far they went. They even have a good set playing, a lot of the classics."
Unable to respond, Trey just nodded. Was this side of Riddle always present? Was it a new development from his recent exploration of interests? Or was it dormant only to be awakened by Riddle's newfound freedom?
"I was actually really nervous about tonight. I've never been to an event like this. Never danced like this or dressed like this before. I'm glad you agreed to come with me."
"No-o problem…"
Trey was finding himself unable to speak around this side of Riddle. It did something to him he couldn't quite describe. There was something magical about it.
"Trey, you've been oddly quiet. Are you okay?"
Trey swallowed hard.
"Trey… do you… not like me like this? Is this side of me too much? Am I too strange?"
"No! It's not that at all! It's just… you're so…"
"I'm so what?"
Riddle's eyes bled with sorrow despite no tears falling. Trey felt a pain in his chest as he couldn't find the words.
It was then that their drinks arrived.
Riddle sipped his strawberry milk tea boba, while Trey gulped down his virgin cocktail.
After they finished their drinks in silence, it was Trey's turn to drag Riddle to the dance floor.
As they swayed together, their dance drawing them closer, the song changed.
A song about the love for another person that never ceases to surprise.
It was here that Trey found the words. He leaned in to give a sweet whisper.
"Perfect."
"What?"
"It's just that… you're so perfect."
Before Riddle could open his mouth for a reply he was pulled into a kiss.
