Chapter Text

"We should all go out for drinks!"

You and Harry groaned.

"Cisco don't you remember what happened last time you all went out for drinks?" You asked him.

Cisco slightly cringed at the memory of the Golden Booty fiasco.

"Okay maybe a bad idea," he muttered.

Barry came to Cisco's defense, "But that was mostly Ralph's fault. We all wanted to stay home."

"Exactly!" Cisco agreed.

"Not one of Dibny's brighter ideas," Harry said amusingly.

"I'm the flash!" Joe said lifing his arms and shaking them n the air, imitating drunk Barry causing you to giggle.

Barry laughed, embarrassed, "That was Cisco's fault."

Cisco looked at Barry in disbelief, "W-what?"

"He's right Ramon. You miscalculated how much was needed in order to provide Barry a light buzz not flat out drunk," Harry nodded in agreement tinkering with a piece of metal.

Cisco threw his hands up frustratingly, "I was trying to be a good friend!"

Harry scoffed, "Nice try." You hit his arm.

"Ow!" He said rubbing his arm.

"Be nice," you said sternly.

"Well at least I didn't abandon him like you did!" Cisco shot accusingly at Harry.

Harry threw down his glasses.

"I didn't abandon him. I left to go get some coffee and air because that place was suffocating me."

"Bu-"

Harry held a hand up, "I'm not done Ramon."

Cisco rolled his eyes knowing where this was going.

"If I hadn't left," he said slowly, "then who would have come to BAIL YOU OUT OF JAIL?"

The room was quiet as Harry smirked.

"Exactly," he said as he put his glasses back on and went back to tinkering with his project.

You rolled you eyes at his show and got up.

"You know what? Let's have a redo. We'll have drinks here at the lab just us."

Harry eyed you but didn't say anything as the rest the team thought about your idea.

"See Harry? This is why Y/N is much more likable than you," Cisco said jokingly, "She offers solutions and ideas."

Harry scoffed.

"And I don't?"

"Not without being an ass."

"Okay okay," you said getting in the middle of the two, "We'll meet here in an hour with drinks and food and I'll go get Iris and everyone else, okay?"

The two men looked at each other before Harry got up and walked out of the cortex.

Joe and Barry followed already talking about what kind of nachos and dip they should get and you could hear Joe teasing Barry with, "I'm the Flash."

Cisco looked at you frowning, "I didn't mean for him to get that drunk."

"We know Cisco it's not you fault. It's not like there's a recipe to make alcohol for speedsters," you say trying to get him to laugh.

He smiled, "Yeah I know. I'm gonna go make him some and this time it'll give him the," he breathed in and out quickly imitating a chef approving of their meal, "light buzz."

You laughed, "I'm sure Barry will be quite happy."

Cisco waved as he walked out to go to his lab to work on Barry's concoction.

As you messaged the girls you felt a sudden warmth pressing against your neck.

You fixed your necklace and smiled lightly as your brushed your fingers on the cool metal before tucking it back into your shirt.

"Y/N!" You heard Harry half shout as he entered the Cortex.

"Harry?"

"Y/N why did you agree to this?" He huffed annoyed.

"To the drinks here in the lab?"

"No to donkey to live here at the lab. Yes to the drinks!" He said sighing frustratingly.

"Because the team deserves to have a night to just be 'normal' and celebrate with some fizzy bubbles," you said gently, "Barry has been through a lot so it's good for everyone to be able to have fun for a while.

Harry sighed again but this time in defeat.

Harry muttered something you almost didn't hear which made you grin.

"What'd you say?"

"Nothing."

You punched his arm lightly as your grin got bigger, "No you said something."

Harry couldn't help but smile at you.

"I said," he said as his eyes twinkled with amusement, "I guess you're right."

You faked shock, "Are you, Harrison Wells of numerous PhDs, saying that I, a mere mortal, am right?"

He chuckled at you rolling his eyes as you laughed.

"Okay okay. But if anyone gets drunk I'll be the one to say I told you so."

You shoved him playfully.

"It'll be fun!"

‐-------------------

As everyone filled the cortex with food and drinks you could sense that this had been indeed a great idea.

Cisco put on music to which Harry rolled his eyes at and commented on his sense of music but quickly found himself tapping his foot to the beat. Barry and Iris we dancing together laughing while Joe and Cecile were at the food bar trying all the dips. Caitlin and Frost had set up a dart board and were trying to see who was better.

You smiled content. It was nice to see everyone you cared about having fun and not worry about metas for a while.

Barry came up to you smiling, "Hey I just wanted to thank you for this," he said gesturing toward the whole cortex which was brightly decorated in balloons and ribbons, "It means a lot, not only to me, but all of us."

You smiled as you squeezed his arm lightly.

"I figured we all needed a break. Even if it's for just a little bit."

He nodded softly before breaking out into a grin, "Cisco gave me some of my 'special concoction 2.0' and I can report a very nice buzz with no over kill."

"I told you Barry," Cisco said coming over told you, "I gotcha my friend."

You all laughed and Barry offered to get you a drink.

"Thanks Barry I would love a nice buzz as well."

He laughed at you as he and Cisco made their way to Caitlin's famous booze fruit punch.

"I hear Cisco managed to not turn Barry into his drunk wild side," a voice said from behind you.

You smiled as you turned around and faced Harry how had slight pink on his cheeks from all the drinks he had had. It suited him along with the wrinkles around his eyes that only made his bright bye eyes even brighter when he smiled.

"Mmhm. See I told you this was a great idea."

He chuckled as he bummed into you slightly.

"Alright you got me."

As you watched Caitlin and Frost argue over where a dart landed, Harry took time to look at you. You were happy. Smiling and laughing. He smiled. You looked beautiful. He sighed happily as you turned back to face him noticing the light look in his eyes.

"What?" You said.

Harry shook his head.

"Nothing."

But then he took a step forward.

You could feel yourself freeze as he locked eyes with you.

"Dance with me," he said taking another step forward.

At this point you were internally panicking with how close he was. You could feel his breath on you face and the smell of whiskey and coffee on his breath. You had to get away. You had to-

"Hey here's your drink Y/N!"

You quickly turned around and took a few steps back.

"Thanks Barry," you said a little too loudly trying to hide the fact that you were a bit shaky and your heart pounding on your chest by gulping down the whole cup.

Barry looked at you questionably before he heard Cisco call him.

You could still feel the burn of the punch down your throat as your heard Harry clear his throat.

"You okay? You seemed to drink that as if you had never drank before in you life."

"Yeah I'm fine," you said a bit nervously still remembering what happened just minutes ago, "I think I'm going to go play darts with Caitlin and Frost."

Harry gave you a smile as you turned around and left.

‐---------------

Harry felt like an idiot. He blamed it on the alcohol.

He thought it gave him confidence to be able to spend more time with you but it only allowed him to see the truth.

You didn't feel the same way.

Although you may have tried to play it off he saw the panic in your eyes when he had stood inches in front of your face.

He scowled angrily as he went to get another drink.

"Hey Harry?" He heard Barry say.

"Yeah Allen what?" He said as he angrily served himself punch.

There was a pause which caused Harry to drop the spoon frustrated and look at Barry.

And for some reason he knew something was wrong.

Barry stood there rubbing his neck and avoiding eye contact.

"Allen?" He said with a slightly raised tone.

"WHOOOO HOOOOO. THIS PUNCH IS LIT!"

He turned and what he saw made him look back at Barry.

"Talk. Now."

"When Cisco and I were getting a drink for Y/N we also got ourselves drinks and we kinda maybe weren't paying too much attention to what we were doing and.."

Barry paused cringing slightly.

Harry was certain he knew exactly what happened but wanted to hear it from Barry.

Barry stood there like a kid about to get yelled out as he said quietly, "We didn't notice that I gave her the drink that was spiked with my concoction thing."

"CAITLIN YOU ARE A CHEATER. YOU CHEATED. I WANT MY DRINK BACK"

Harry pinched the bridge if his nose and sighed.

"I'll take care of her but mark my words that you and Cisco will have major consequences," he said darkly.

Barry quickly nodded and made himself useful be speeding you and Harry to his room.

"Whaaaat? Where da party goooo?" You whined.

"No more party for you," he said as he got you a glass of water.

"What? Whyyyyyy? I only had one drink," you said as you swayed to the side.

He sat you down, "Trust me. That was more than enough."

"Bull," you said, "I need more so I don't have to dance with you."

Harry froze next to you.

"If I dance with you it won't be good," you continued to go on drunkenly, "because I'm in love with someone else so I can't fall in love with you even though it's very hard not too. You have a very handsome face, and pretty eyes, and kissable lips."

Harry sat in shock. He wasn't even sure what to think.

But you kept going, "Do you know how hard it is to see you," you poked him in the middle of his chest, "and hear your damn voice," another poke, "to be with you and not lose my mind trying to not ki-"

You were cut off by soft chapped lips moving against yours.

"Mmhfm," you said as you pushed him off.

"Harry why'd you kiss me?"

"I-," Harry started but you interrupted him.

You started giggling as you said, "It's rude to kiss a married woman."

Harry's eyes widened as he looked at you in complete shock.

You couldn't be married. It had to be the amount of alcohol in your body. It was making you say nonsense.

And then you pulled out the necklace that usually hid behind your shirt.

And on the chain laid his the confirmation of his fears.

A wedding ring.

For a second it seemed as if time had stopped as you mindlessly played with the ring on the chain and Harry sat next to you like a fish out of water wanting to saying something, anything, but not being able to.

All he could do was stare at the piece of metal in between your fingers. And as you twirled it around mindlessly in your drunken state he saw something that caught his attention.

"Can I see it?" He said his voice raspy as if he was in a desert with no water.

You nodded happily as you gave it to him.

His hands shook slightly as he examined the ring and when he got a better look at the engraving his breath hitched.

His voice shook as he asked you, "Y/N. Who are you married too?"

You frowned, "I'm not supposed to tell no one."

"It's okay I promise I won't tell anyone," he told you reassuringly even though he was on the verge of going crazy.

You looked at him and smiled and instead of it making him smile he felt a part of his stomach lurch.

"Eobard Thawne."
