"Words hurt, you know that, right?" Ivy scoffed.
"My dear, my love, I..." Tilly trailed off, "I'm sorry. I did not mean for you to hear that."
"Then why even say it?" they shot back.
"Well, I said it because it's true..." she mumbled.
"Speak up. You know I hate mumbling," Ivy demanded.
"It's true, my love. I said it because it's true," she winced slightly as Ivy's eyes flashed with pain.
"How dare you!" they shrieked, "You've betrayed me! How could you!"
"I... I'm so sorry, my love, I didn't..." she was interrupted by Ivy.
"Do you not love me, is that it?"
"No, no!" Tilly ran to Ivy's side, "It is not that, I just..."
"You just what? Have you fallen for another?"
"No, never!" she gasps, "Ivy, I would never."
"Then why..." they gulp, "Why have you betrayed me like this?"
"Well I..."
"You what?"
"I just really don't like garlic bread."
Ivy choked on their breath and turned around in anger, "How could you! Garlic bread is a fucking delacacy and I will not have you undermine it's name in such a manner!"
"I... I'm sorry, my love," Tilly stuttered, "But I just don't like it."
"HOW DARE YOU!" They bellow.

In the other room, Devan was listening to the two lovers' argument with immense concern.
"... Do those two always have fights like this?"
"Yup," Nathan deadpanned.
"Ah... I see," Devan nodded, his concern only growing every second.
"They seem like they're going to rip each other's heads off at this point," Devan observed.
"Uh-huh, you'll get used to it," Nathan replied.
"And over garlic bread? Really?"
"Yeah."
"That seems quite stupid. It's only food, nothing too good."
"Do you not like garlic bread?"
"I don't really care for it."
"I see," Nathan sighed, "Well, don't let Ivy hear you say that or they're gonna flip."
"Yeah, I can see that," Devan pauses, "Or, well, I can hear that."
Nathan chuckled, and got up from the couch, "Well, I'm going to grab a beer, d'you want one?"
"No thanks," Devan shook his head.
"M'kay, suit yourself," Nathan nodded and walked off.
"Well, this is going to be one hell of a night," Devan laughed to himself, "Let's see how well I hold up."
"Probably not too well," expressed a voice from behind him. Devan shrieked and turned around to stare at the very tall, very terrifying figure looming behind him.
"Where the fuck did you come from?"
"Hell."
"Is that because you scared the hell outta me?" Devan groaned and fell back onto the couch.
"You are Devan, yes?"
"Mhm," he hummed.
"Well I am Ter, it is nice to meet a friend of Ivy's."
"Okay then..." Devan trailed off, and it was silent for a few moments as Ter loomed over him, which he found slightly creepy. The silence was broken though, by a loud scream.
"NATE YOU TRAITOR! UNHAND ME RIGHT THIS INSTANT!"
Devan laughed slightly as he watched Nathan, in wereboar form, drag both Ivy and Tillie into the room.
"No," Nathan grumbled.
"Unhand me or I will destroy you!" Ivy raged.
"Not happening."
Ivy huffed in defeat and crossed their arms, "I hate you."
"Uh-huh."
"I'm gonna kill you."
"Sure."
"You're gonna suffer."
"I already am."
"Let go of me!"
"Not yet."
"I'll hurt you."
"You can't touch me."
"Oh yeah, watch this!" Ivy started to kick Nathan's side, though the wereboar continued to hold them up, not caring for the blows being dealt to him.
"That doesn't hurt."
"Well it should!"
"But it doesn't."
"I hate you."
All was silent for a moment, before Nathan asked, "are you calm now?"
Ivy sighed in defeat, "yes."
"Are you going to throw any more temper tantrums?"
"I didn't..." Ivy paused when they saw Nathan's glare, "... no."
"Not even about garlic bread?"
"Not even about garlic bread," they confirmed.
"Good," Nathan set Ivy down, then looked to Tilly who he still held up in the air.
"And what about you?" He asked her, "Are you gonna egg them on any more?"
Tilly shook her head, "No. I didn't mean to start a fight in the first place, I just don't like garlic bread."
"But..."
Nathan glared at Ivy, to which they replied with a pout, but they didn't say anything else. He then turned his head back to face Tillie. After studying the woman for a moment, he put her down.
"Good, but I swear, if I hear another word out of either of you..."
"Yup! Got it, no more arguments," Ivy nodded with a fake innocence, "We promise."
Nathan eyed them suspiciously, but decided that he's had enough of their shit for today, and walked out of the room.
"Hey! I think I'll have that beer now!" Devan called after Nathan, though he only got an anguished grunt in response.
"Hey Devan!" Ivy grinned up at him after a moment, "how are you? I totally forgot you were here!"
Devan shook his head and chuckled, "That's probably because you were too busy arguing with your girlfriend about garlic bread."
"It's not my fault!" they whined, "garlic bread is life! How can you not like it?"
"If that's the case, then I don't care about life," he laughed as Ivy gasped in offense.
"You don't like garlic bread? How could you!"
Devan shrugs, "It's not that I don't like it, it's that I don't care about it."
"That's the same as not liking it!"
"No it isn't," he replied.
"Yes it is."
"No it isn't."
"Yes it is."
"No it isn't."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"Yes."
"No. Wait..." Ivy paused, then yelled, "YOU BASTARD! YOU TRICKED ME!"
Devan cackled in delight as Ivy continued to yell at him. They only quieted for a moment once Tillie pointed at Devan and asked, "Hey Ivy, who's that?"
Devan creased his brow in confusion. Tillie should know who he is, after all, he's been friends with her for about two years now.
"Oh, that's an old friend of mine named Ter," Ivy waved, "Hi Ter, glad you could join us!"
The realization hit Devan quicker than Nathan could down a beer, and he silently laughed to himself. Of course, he had completely forgotten about Ter, who loomed behind him at this very moment. Tilly wouldn't forget about him, there's no way she would. Plus, that can't happen twice, right?
"Yeah, voi goes by voi/void pronouns, but don't mind they/them either!"
Devan's train of thought was interrupted by Ivy, who was currently talking to Tilly about Ter's pronouns. And that was when he knew it was probably a good time to listen into their conversation as of now.
"Oh, okay!" Tilly nodded, "So if I used those in a sentence, it would go something like: Ter uses voi/void pronouns, and voi is one of Ivy's friends. Voi might soon entrust me with void friendship as well. Is that right?"
Ivy nodded, and Tilly grinned, seeming pleased with herself. It was then that Ter decided to actually do something other than loom behind Devan as voi walked around the couch and sat down on the floor with the other two lovers.
"So when did you get here Ter?" Tilly asked.
"Five minutes ago," voi replied.
"Okay, and where do you live?"
"Hell."
Tilly and Devan burst into laughter, but soon quieted down awkwardly when they realized that Ter was serious.
"You... you're not joking?"
"No."
Tilly paused and muttered, "what the fuck," under her breath. Devan just stopped and stared at Ter. Voi had already told him that voi was from hell, but he thought that Ter was just joking. Now that he realizes voi wasn't joking, he didn't really know how to feel about that.
"So let me get this straight..."
"I'm gay."
"I..." Tilly laughed in surprise, "Okay, y'know what, never mind."
"How do you know Ter?" Devan asked Ivy.
"Oh! I met void in my hometown when I was really young. Voi kind of just stuck with me after that," they explained excitedly.
"Hey guys, where's Nate?" Tilly asked.
"Probably gave up on us and either drank his ass off or crashed for the night," Devan replied.
"No, he didn't," came Nathan's voice from the hallway, "Hey Devan, catch!"
Devan didn't have time to think as a beer bottle came hurtling towards his face, only for him to catch it at the last second.
"You could've killed me!"
"But I didn't," Nathan shrugged as he walked into the room in human form. He uncapped his beer bottle before thoughtfully replying, "Plus, a hit like that wouldn't kill you, just cause some permanent damage."
"And you know this... how, exactly?"
"Uh," Nathan paused for a moment, "I'm smart?"
Ivy guffawed at the man, "No you aren't! You're the most stupid one out of all of us!"
"I'm the most rational one out of all of us," He countered.
"Uh-uh, say that to the guy you killed a week ago."
"YOU'VE KILLED SOMEONE?" Both Devan and Tilly exclaimed at the same time.
Nathan groans, "You do realize that I'm a dangerous sociopath with a long history of violence, right?"
"I..." Tilly paused, and Devan just said nothing.
"How do you guys keep forgetting this?"
"I don't think you've ever told us that," Devan expressed through his shock.
"Oh," Nathan paused, then shrugged, "Well, the more you know."
"I'm too tired of this shit," Tilly groaned, "I'm gonna head to bed."
"No, my love!" Ivy exclaimed, "Don't leave me here alone with these weirdos!"
"Hey!" Devan scoffed.
"Then come with me Ivy, let's go to bed," Tilly grabbed Ivy's wrist and pulled them to their feet, "I'm too tired to keep my eyes open for another second."
"No," Ivy shook their head, "Not until you tell me that you like garlic bread."
"But... I don't."
"Nope, not gonna hear it!"
Nathan groaned, "Enough with your garlic toast already! We get it, you like it, but just stop."
"No! Also, it's garlic bread, not garlic toast."
"Mhm, sure, whatever," He sighs, "I'm going to bed."
"Same here," Devan mutters before placing his empty beer bottle on the coffee table and getting up, "I'll see you all in the morning."
"You see Ivy, c'mon, let's go to bed, everyone else is."
"No!" Ivy shook their head, "Not until you tell me that you like garlic bread. Also, Ter hasn't gone to bed yet!"
Now that was a lie, as Ter had left the room when the two of them started arguing. Voi had just wanted to get some sleep, as voi was tired from void travels.
"Ter isn't here, my love," Tilly laughed.
"Well, I..." Ivy groaned.
"Just come to bed with me."
"Not until you say you like garlic bread!"
Tilly sighs, "I... tolerate it."
Ivy paused, and even though they were stubborn as a bull, they knew this was the best answer they were going to get. Had it been any other time though, they would continue arguing until Tilly finally left them for bed.
"Fine," they nodded curtly, and though they looked like they didn't like it at all, they finally gave in and allowed themself to be pulled off to bed.
