“Who are you?” He whispered. Yassen sighed as he rose, catching Alex’s chin and tilting his face so neither had anywhere to look but at each other.
“I am Yassen. You are my kid. I love you and I will not allow harm to come to you. For now, that must be enough, do you understand?” Alex stared up at him a moment longer, breathing hard, eyes still steely and distrustful.
“I knew you and Ian weren’t fucking bankers.” He growled vindictively. Yassen pulled away, dropping his chin, and looked down at him with a disapproving frown.
“Language!”
