Chapter Text
When asked what his biggest fear was Mo laughed and replied ‘nothing’ as if it was simply a fact. But the more Mo got into it and over thought the question entirely he had found himself an answer.
Mo’s biggest fear was the thought of being abandoned. The sheer thought of being left in the dust made him shiver in fright.
-
If Mo was being honest he missed He Tian. Well not him but his presence. He had already been gone for a week and nothing felt right without the annoying person beside him. School wasn’t the same anymore and when he went to any of his part time jobs he would almost always catch himself thinking about the smug bastard and his infuriating smirk.
The only thing Mo could do was to wait. He would have to wait it out. It had happened before. So why did it feel different this time?
After being woken up far too early Mo headed to school. Even though it was already lunch time he still had nothing better to do (And) He Tian would most definitely kill him if he skipped the whole day, well when he comes back he would.
He had only just got through the gates when he was lept on by a certain white haired boy. He didn’t mind and quite frankly had learnt to tolerate his obnoxious behaviour. But he still glared daggers at him regardless while rubbing the back of his neck feigning injury.
’’Just once I ask this of you. Go away!’’ Mo said whilst already walking away.Though it sounded harsh he really wasn’t in the mood. He wasn’t sure what he wanted anymore. It honestly did feel like something was missing since He Tian’s temporary disappearance. Even though his other two acquaintances' had stepped up into He Tian’s place it still wasn’t the same.
‘’No can do my friend. Today they are selling rice cakes in the cafeteria and I WILL die if I don’t get one.’’ Jian Yi complained (dramatic as ever).
‘’Why don’t you go and get one with Zhan Zheng Xi, I’m sure he’d love to go??’’ Mo said, genuinely confused. Jian Yi was always glued to his best friend's side so where was he today?
At Jian Yi’s lack of answer he turned to look at him and could barely hold back a laugh. His head was flung back with tears streaming from his eyes as his trembling fingers did a terrible job of trying to hold them back.
Mo had already guessed the reasoning of Zhan Zheng Xi’s disappearance from the over dramatic reaction from Jian Yi.
‘’Stop laughing, my heart is in an unstable condition right now. I thought I would be all on my own today but then you... I bless you Mo’’ he cried more as he wiped away a final tear.
‘’Thank you for turning up today. Eating lunch alone is truly depressing and it’s not like He Tian is coming back any time soon!’’ He sighed a dramatic sigh and then his eyes shot open like he had just witnessed a murder. He slowly turned his head round to where he was facing his friend.
‘’What are you on about, do you know where that bastard has disappeared too?’’ Mo honestly doubted that Jian Yi did know where He Tian was, it didn't make sense for him to tell the overly energetic fuzz ball and not him but thinking again they have known each other for longer and though Mo thought they had got somewhat close to each other in the past weeks it could have just been his imagination. He often experienced wishful thinking. So actually it did make sense.
Mo would have let the topic slide if it was not for Jian Yi’s strange answer. ‘’What?’’ he said stretching out the ‘W’
‘’I don’t know what you are talking about! What?’’ He stated whilst avoiding direct eye contact.
That’s when Mo pounced on him and wrestled him into a headlock. It didn’t take much effort as Jian Yi was taken completely by surprise.
‘’Where did he run off to this time and why didn’t he tell me, is he waiting to pounce on me again?’’
Whilst in the headlock Jian Yi ; now aware of his situation, started to thrash out attempting to escape but a quick dig in the ribs from Mo soon stopped his attempts. Still unable to escape he avoided eye contact with his captor.
‘’You pinky swear you won’t tell him that I told you?’’ And with that he held out his pinky. Mo rolled his eyes at the childish remark but interlocked their fingers regardless.
‘’Now spill!’’ he said as he could feel himself getting impatient.
‘’He Tian has... moved away...’’
