"Oh, I see," Jack said, "when I killed three zombies in one shot, no one saw it." He looked pointedly at Dads who were still fawning over him. "But the moment I trip in the parking lot I'm suddenly the center of attention."
He was not pouting. He was sulking. There's a difference. The blood wasn't even from his injury. Did he still pick a fun band-aid anyway? Yes, for the inconvenience. And did he accept the ice cream? Of course, who was he to decline a treat?
That did not mean he was content with the situation. He could still brood. He had told them to watch, and no one did. But they suddenly had eyes for his embarrassing moment. Go figure.
