Chapter 1: One
Chapter Text
" Let's see what the Schnee name really means."
"I'm more than just a name."
"Hm, then prove it."
Weiss was losing, it didn't take a genius to figure that out. Despite being a part of one of the top first year teams at Beacon Academy, having killed numerous Grimm throughout the school year, reaching the semifinals of the Vytal festival, and surviving the Fall of Beacon, Weiss knew that she was outclassed. Despite her years of training with Myrtenaster, her Multi Action Dust Rapier, Weiss stood no chance against a bandit with years of experience, especially one with the powers of the Spring Maiden.
Still, that wouldn't stop Weiss from doing her best, fighting till her last breath, despite this ambush. She was a Schnee after all, as much as she hated what her family stood for, Weiss Schnee was a part of Team RWBY first and foremost. She won't disappoint her teammates, and the remains of Team JNPR. The interior of Haven Academy had turned into a battlefield, Ruby, Yang and the others facing off against their respective opponents.
Running her finger along her blade, Weiss narrowed her eyes. The Atlesian etchings in Myrtenaster's blade turned orange, the color of the fire dust imbued in her blade's hilt.
"Hyah!" Weiss swang Myrtenaster, a wave of flames aimed at Vernal, that stupid bandit using the powers of the Spring Maiden for selfish reason. Stupid Branwen bandits, stupid White Fang, stupid Cinder and her followers, stupid Lionheart that traitor! Most of all, stupid Salem for causing so much pain and suffering.
Vernal simply jumped back, avoiding the flames. She fired a few shots from her crescent blade weapon, forcing Weiss to switch to ice dust. Forming a glyph right in front of her, Weiss stabbed the ground, forming a wall of ice that managed to block Vernal's bullets.
This was bad, this was really bad. Weiss aimed Myrtenaster at the ground again, forming another glyph, the snowflake having the pattern of a familiar sword. The Arma Gigas could help Weiss turn the tide! It was strong enough to face a Queen Lancer, so it should be strong enough to help her fight a maiden.
Armored arms pulled themselves out of the glyph, the knightly armor of the Arma Gigas rose from the white snowflake. Suddenly, yellow lasers sliced through the ice wall, decapitating the half formed Arma Gigas in the process.
"Damn it!" Weiss mumbled under her breath. She barely rose Myrtenaster in time to block a strike from Vernal's crescent blade.
"Did you think I was going to let you take the easy way out?" The Branwen second in command growled. Weiss only glared in return and formed a black glyph, this one pushing her away from the fallen Spring Maiden. Vernal threw one of her blades towards Weiss, forcing her to use another glyph to deflect the strike.
Vernal caught her weapon easily and started firing, Myrtenaster easily being able to deflect several of the bullets. Using a glyph to launch herself in the air, Weiss dodged a few of Vernal's bullets, using Myrtenaster to deflect those she couldn't dodge.
Gracefully landing back on the ground, Weiss stabbed the ground again, forming her summoning glyph. Only an arm was formed when Vernal suddenly struck, both of her crescent blades locking with Myrtenaster's blade.
"You should have focused on fighting me instead of trying that trick again." Vernal boasted when she unleashed a barrage of lasers straight into Weiss' chest at point blank range.
Weiss was sent flying through the air and she struck the ground hard, her aura shattering upon impact. Gritting her teeth as her blue aura disappeared, Weiss used Myrtenaster to force herself upon her knees. That was definitely going to leave a bruise, until her aura returned at least.
"No!" Weiss heard Jaune scream from across the commons. Before she could turn, Weiss gasped, something had pierced her side. Feeling her eyes widen in pain, Weiss struggled to breathe. Looking at the golden spear that had impaled her, Weiss had never felt this much pain before in her life. Not even the training exercise that gained her a scar over her left eye caused her this much pain.
The golden spear disappeared, leaving a bloody hole in her side, and the last thing Weiss saw as the floor rushed to meet her was darkness.
"Colin, do you ever wonder why we're here?" Dragon said, her voice only having the faintest hint of an accent. Currently working on his newest halberd in his lab, Colin paused, placing a tool back on the workbench.
Why were they here? What was Dragon trying to ask? Why were they in the lab? Or why were they placed upon this Earth with powers that the average human couldn't comprehend? Colin didn't get his degree in psychology for no reason, might as well use it.
"It's one of life's greatest mysteries isn't it?" Colin lifted his helmet over his head. "Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there some entity manipulating all of us behind the scenes?"
An awkward silence filled the PRT lab.
"Actually, I was wondering why we were using the lab at the PRT building instead of the Rig." Dragon chuckled softly, causing Colin's cheeks to warm up. "Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?"
Colin shook his head, turning his attention back to the unfinished halberd. "I'm fine."
"If you say so." Dragon started to hum softly, her nondescript avatar smirking. Suddenly, an alarm went off.
"What is it?" Colin placed his helmet back on his head, one of his hands already reaching for his nearest halberd.
"My systems have detected a weird source of energy. I haven't seen anything like this!" Dragon's avatar disappeared from view, but her voice remained.
"Where is it coming from?" Colin activated his thermal vision, alternating between different sensors.
"Here."
A large swirling portal made of blue energy formed on the roof of the lab, and not even a second later, something fell through. With a loud thud, the body of a white haired girl landed on an empty table sitting in the lab. The portal disappeared just as quickly as it appeared.
Colin's eyes widened in shock once he got a better view. With a large hole in her side, the girl was bleeding to death right in the middle of her lab.
"Contact Panacea and Director Piggot!"
A/N
This is the Worm version of my ongoing fic, Schnee: Hero or Huntress, a RWBY/MHA crossover. I'll be primarily focused on that story, while working on this one in between.
Weiss is my favorite character, so I hope to be able to do her character justice. I don't have much experience with fight scenes, but I'll do my best to make them enjoyable.
I will confirm that Weiss' Dust will be able to work on this Earth.
Chapter 2: Two
Chapter Text
When Amy finished school for the day, she expected it to go as it always did. After school, Vicky would take her home so she could change into her robes, then she would spend the rest of her time at the hospital until one of the nurses made her leave. Go to school, go to hospital, heal and repeat. Every once in a while the PRT would call in a favor to heal some of their officers, or fix up the Protectorate and Wards after a nasty fight. Overall, life was pretty boring since she didn't have any friends, outside of Vicky of course, but Amy couldn't complain.
Today was not one of those days. She was in the middle of history class, trying to avoid Dennis' bad puns, when the Principal called her name over the intercom, asking her to go and meet with the janitor. That meant a PRT van was waiting outside for her, which everyone in school knew. The school wasn't fooling anyone with their stupid codes, and not having a secret identity certainly helped with that.
Now she was stuck in between two fully armored PRT officers, their age and gender completely hidden by their visors and body armor. Vicky, who sat across from Amy, was leaning her head against the side of the van as their driver raced through the streets.
"So, is there any reason why we're breaking several traffic laws?" Amy blurted out after a nasty bump. The PRT really should add some type of seatbelt in the back of their vans.
"Director Piggot and Armsmaster will fill you in upon arrival." The officer to Amy's right answered, her voice rough and obviously being filtered through a voice changer.
"Uh ok." Well that was weird. All of the Ward's were in class, so unless Vista or Shadow Stalker were hurt, it must've been a member of the Protectorate. There was only one thing that Amy was certain of.
She was definitely going to need to sign a lot of NDA's when she was done.
Armsmaster was already waiting for them by the time they arrived. With his immaculate beard and spotless tinkertech armor, he looked the same as always and didn't give away anything with the expressions his exposed jaw could give.
"Panacea, Glory Girl, please follow me." He said as soon as they got off the van. Amy's legs felt like they were made of rubber, the driver pulled a few nasty turns and made sure to hit every single road bump.
"I did tell you not to skip leg day." Vicky smirked as she helped Amy walk behind Armsmaster, who seemed a bit too impatient.
"Shut up." Amy grumbled. Judging by the hallway Armsmaster was leading them down, they were heading towards the infirmary. Red lights flashed over and over again, and soon they stopped at a door guarded by two PRT officers, just as armored as the ones in the van.
"Please refrain from speaking about what you see in the room. HR will provide the necessary NDA once you are done with the treatment." Armsmaster motioned them in. Ah, so someone was injured. Was it someone important? "Glory Girl will have to wait out here."
"Yeah yeah. We know the drill." Vicky waved him off as she floated a few inches off of the ground. "I'll be right here when you're done Ames." She pointed her thumb toward a small chair down the hall.
Giving her sister a nod, Amy followed Armsmaster into the room. Her eyes immediately widened as she scanned the room. It was a bit bare, except for a single bed that held a girl with white hair with numerous machines attached to her. A few PRT medics ran around the room, some with bloodied bandages in hand, but they all moved away when they saw Amy's face.
"We barely managed to stabilize her." Armsmaster said simply. "It took our best medics along with some assistance from myself and Dragon. We're hoping that you'll be able to heal her enough to take her off of the machines."
"Who is she?" Amy walked toward the side of the bed. Dressed in a hospital gown, the girl was unnaturally pretty, her only blemish being a scar over one of her eyes.
"She appeared in my lab with a large wound in her side. It was partially cautizered which helped prevent her from bleeding out." Armsmaster said, ignoring Amy's question.
"I see. Well I can't exactly get her consent for healing since she's asleep right now-"
"The state will be handling such issues. You may heal her." Armsmaster interrupted her, which earned him a glare. Was she a Ward? Why else would the PRT be asking for such a favor?
"Very well." Amy turned her attention back to the attractive girl and gently touched her pale hand, closing her eyes. Let's see, none of her major organs were hit but-
What the hell? What was this? Who was she?
There were so many things that were just off for some reason. Like her white hair, it was completely natural despite not being an albino. She wasn't a parahuman, her corona pollentia indicated as much. Amy her eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
This girl wasn't from around here. She had immunities to diseases Amy didn't even know existed, and she was missing several key bacterias that were found on Earth Bet. Could she be from Aleph or another Earth? She fixed that now, Amy wasn't going to be the cause of the mystery girl's possible death just because she didn't have any immunities. Turning her attention back to the wound, Amy scowled. The girl's body was perfectly healthy, and there was a lack of fats in her. She would have to increase her metabolism for now.
"She'll be fine when she wakes up, just hungry so make sure you have food ready." Amy said, letting go of her hand.
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Armsmaster said softly.
"She's not from around here, is she?" Amy eyed the girl's scar. She was only called here to fix the wound in her side, and it seemed that that scar had been there a while.
"Correct." Armsmaster looked a bit uncomfortable, which made Amy smirk. "Please follow me. Director Piggot has already contacted Brandish."
So much secrecy, and for what? Amy shrugged as she followed the Tinker out, giving the white haired girl one last look.
Stupid government agencies.

Updates to Schnee's Bay will be infrequent. I like writing Schnee: Hero or Huntress a lot more to be honest. Its a refreshing change of pace.
Chapter 3: Three
Chapter Text
Weiss felt hungry, actually, starving would be more accurate, but most of all, she felt rather weak. Her body refused to listen to her commands, as she felt her arms slowly rise with some difficulty. Placing said arm on her forehead, Weiss, she forced her body into a sitting position. Judging by the small ache in her side, her aura must've been depleted, which was rather annoying. Ignoring the rumbling from her stomach, Weiss' eyes fluttered open.
After being temporarily blinded by the lights, she finally got a good view of the room she was in. It was rather barren aside from a few machines that she was hooked up to. That wasn't what stood out the most though.
Weiss was all alone.
"Ruby?" Weiss said softly, with only silence being her answer. Where was Ruby? Where was Yang? Hells, where was Jaune, Nora and Ren? This didn't look like Haven. Even the hospital gown she wore didn't look Mistralian, being closer to the patterns that were often used in Vale. Cultural fashion aside, someone should've been here waiting for her to wake up!
"How rude." Weiss huffed as she reached for her scroll-
Her ice blue eyes widened as her head darted side to side, scanning the room for her stuff. Her scroll was gone, Myrtenaster as well. Weiss' hands went to her dust crystal earrings, only to touch her earlobes. Those were gone as well!
Weiss balled her hands into a fist as her breathing started to quicken. Where were her friends? They should've been here by now.
Unless…
Did they lose? Weiss' fist relaxed as her breathing slowed. Did they lose at Haven? If they did, wouldn't Weiss be dead by now?
Mm, she didn't remember anything after feeling something stab her in her side. Her right hand unconsciously touched the area she remembered the pain coming from. Huh, was her aura out because it was focused on healing that wound?
Suddenly, the lone door at the opposite side of the room slid open, and a man covered in armor stepped in. Yup, definitely not Haven, and judging by that armor, this was most likely Atlas. Who else could create armor as advanced as that? Vale's strength was in their Navy, Mistral in their adaptability, and Vacuo had their climate.
Atlas' technology is supreme.
"And who might you be?" Weiss said in Atlesian, leaning up a bit more. This had better not be another kidnapping, especially since she couldn't use her glyphs.
The armored man paused, his exposed chin and beard revealed nothing. Hm, did he not speak Atlesian? Or was he just an idiot? It was probably a mixture of both.
"Is this better?" Weiss scoffed in Mistralian. That made the man's lips form a thin line. At least learning the languages of the Four Kingdoms paid off, one of the many perks of being forced to give up her childhood for Father's ambitions.
Sensing that the armored man was about to speak, Weiss rolled her eyes and offered him a glare.
"Not answering a simple question when asked is pretty rude." This time she spoke in Valish, the language she often used when talking to her friends. It wasn't as romantic as Mistralian or as familiar as Atlesian, or even unique like Vacuan, but it was the trade language of the Four Kingdom's for some reason.
"You speak English?" Now that finally got a response.
"Valish, but sure." Weiss felt her aura start to return, relaxing hee muscles. "Now, who might you be?"
If the man was confused, he didn't show it.
"Armsmaster, head of the Protectorate ENE." Armsmaster said as he kept walking, standing by the side of her bed. "And I should be asking the same question, Miss?"
Hm, was the Protectorate some kind of Huntsman guild? Or were they just another group of bandits wanting to random her off? Either way, Weiss wasn't about to tell them that they had a Schnee in captivity.
"Blake Xiao Long." Weiss lied as easily as she breathed.
Armsmaster frowned. "I would appreciate it if you told the truth, Miss Schnee."
Weiss tried her best to not look shocked.
"Your belongings were labeled with your name." Armsmaster continued speaking. "Now if I have your full cooperation, I would like to ask you a few questions." He awkwardly gave her hospital gown a look.
"After a change of clothes of course."
This was not good.
After being given some rather simple clothing that consisted of a beige shirt and matching pants, Weiss found herself sitting in a room, being escorted there by soldiers in helmets that completely hid their faces, and gear that was not as advanced as Armsmaster's armor.
Weiss felt naked with Myrtenaster, but at least her aura was back now. Her glyphs should provide enough protection until her beloved blade was back in her possession, as well as any summons she wished.
Armsmaster eventually entered from a door off to the side, a large scroll in his hands. Taking the seat that sat across from her, he placed the scroll on the table in between them.
"Thank you for cooperating with our PRT officers." Armsmaster started speaking as Weiss crossed her arms, leveling a glare. She couldn't exactly escape without knowing where she was, or where Myrtenaster and her dust were.
"Yeah yeah." This felt like she was under arrest.
"Now I have a few questions for you, and to make easier for the both of us, I would appreciate it if you answered them truthfully to the best of your knowledge." Armsmaster was definitely some type of law enforcement. Did the Mistral government not like the fact that Haven Academy became a battleground? Where were the others?
"Sure." Weiss answered dryly, her eyes casually drifting around the room. A mirror that showed her reflection composed the wall on the right, it was most likely a one way mirror, with Armsmaster's masters behind there.
A beowulf could easily help her escape, if she so wished.
"First off, please state your full name."
"Don't you already know that?" Weiss kept her hands out of his view. Didn't he know who she was? The Schnee name was known throughout Remnant, and Weiss herself had numerous number one albums across the kingdoms.
"Yes, please state it for the record." Armsmaster repeated himself. He was definitely some kind of Huntsman working with the police.
Sighing softly, Weiss kept her composure.
"Weiss Schnee."
This was going to take a while.

So like, I completely forgot I wrote this until I was poking around my FFN notifications. I definitely plan on adding this into my rotation alongside the Stag's Daughter.
Chapter 4: Four
Chapter Text
If Weiss had met the weird huntsman who called himself Armsmaster almost a year ago, she was sure that she would have liked him. He was definitely a former member of the Atlesian military, with how blunt and straight to the point he was. Except, he didn't even seem to care when Weiss mentioned her name, and everyone knew who the Schnee's were, for good or bad. At the moment, Weiss just found the huntsman annoying.
"Nationality." Armsmaster kept messing around with the strange scroll in his hands, his voice sounding rather familiar now that she thought about it.
"Atlesian." Weiss answered, rolling her eyes. Anyone with access to a scroll could easily search her name with just two words. Armsmaster frowned as he finally placed the scroll on the table.
"I mean, which country are you from?" Armsmaster explained as if she was an idiot. Weiss narrowed her eyes in return. "Are you from Germany or Japan?"
Germany? Japan? Those sounded like made up names from those bad Spruce Willis movies Ruby made her watch.
"I'm from the Kingdom of Atlas." Weiss spoke slowly and sarcastically, emphasizing every syllable. That caused Armsmaster to pause, and he grabbed the scroll again. Did he really not know who she was?
"Can you tell me how you sustained your injuries? More specifically, the wound in your side." Armsmaster continued, his deep voice going straight to the point.
Weiss' eyes scanned the armored huntsman. She couldn't exactly tell him the whole truth about the maidens and why they were fighting Cinder's people.
"My friend's and I were ambushed by bandits." That was vague enough to not give away any major details. "The last thing I remember is one of them screaming my name before something pierced me here. Everything afterwards is a blur." Her hand went to her now healed wound.
Stupid Cinder, stupid Branwen tribe, but most of all, stupid Weiss. How could she have been so useless, especially when her friends needed her, when Ruby needed her. She disappointed them in their hour of need.
"What can you tell me about their leader? Or a particular member that stood out? Armsmaster's voice pulled Weiss from her thoughts, causing her to drop the fist her hands had formed without her noticing.
"One of them wore a white mask, modeled after a Nevermore, and she had a sword with her." Gods knew how Raven Branwen gave birth to a girl like Yang. Their similarities ended at their cheekbones and chin.
"Nevermore?" Armsmaster looked up from the scroll, causing Weiss to scoff. What kind of huntsman was he if he didn't even know one of the most common types of Grimm? Not a very good one, and that was Weiss being generous.
"Yes, Nevermore." Weiss said slowly, imitating his tone from earlier. She just wanted to get out of here and find her friends, wherever they were. Weiss didn't know what she would do if they abandoned her. She didn't escape Father and survive a swarm of Lancers just to be left behind because she was useless.
Yeah, there must've been something else going on. Ruby and Yang wouldn't do that, t-they were friends.
"Can you describe-"
"Actually, I have a few questions of my own." Weiss interrupted her interrogator. There was something weird going on here, and she was definitely going to find out what that was.
Armsmaster opened his mouth to speak again, but there was little he could do when Weiss started to speak again, standing up and slamming her hands on the table.
"Where in the two hells am I?" Weiss almost growled, but thankfully, she had enough self control to not sound like she wanted to murder the man.
"Miss Schnee, I believe it would be better if you took your seat." Armsmaster's frown seemed permanent at this point. Keeping her glare aimed at the armored man, Weiss carefully sat down again.
"Happy now?"
"Judging by the fact that you mentioned a country that doesn't exist anywhere on Earth, and after a scan of the sword that arrived with you revealing several alloys of metal that don't exist here, Miss Schnee, I can confidently say you're not from this dimension." Armsmaster said grimly. "Our physicians also noted that your hair color is completely natural, and that your immune system had bacteria that would defend your body from diseases that do not exist in our world."
What?
A giggle escaped from Weiss' lips, which soon evolved into full on laughter. Weiss felt tears roll down her pale cheeks as the room was filled with that wretched noise. It took a few minutes for her to calm down again. Wiping a tear with a delicate finger, Weiss sighed before finally composing herself.
"I think you're in the wrong career, whatever you are." Weiss finished wiping the two streams on her face, drying the salty tears. "You should've been a comedian." Weiss said bluntly. She was stuck in a different dimension? Now that sounded like a movie Ruby would love, or a trashy romance story that Blake enjoyed to read.
"I can assure you that I am being serious." Armsmaster seemed annoyed now, mirroring her. Good, now he knew how it felt.
"Now you're going to tell me the moon is still in one piece huh." Weiss smirked as she kept her back straight. Her eyes started staring around the room. "You have a hidden camera around here right? Yang put you up to this didn't she?"
The rest of the gang were definitely behind that one way mirror.
"Come on out guys, this isn't funny anymore." Weiss narrowed her eyes, staring at her reflection. They must've been dying of laughter back there.
"Would you like to see the moon?" Armsmaster suddenly spoke up, his voice somewhat softer than before. Weiss' eyes turned back to the armored beard.
"Sure, why not?"
It wouldn't hurt to humor the plan, and besides, maybe she could use this to plan an escape once Myrtenaster and her Dust were back in her possession. Moving her bangs to the side, Weiss shrugged.
"Lead the way, Armsmaster."
Judging by the architecture, Weiss was definitely in Vale. The Valish style of building was simple, and rather boring when compared to the other kingdoms, but Weiss liked it enough. Vale is where she met Ruby.
Escorted by a squad of those soldiers or police officers in those same uniforms as the two that took Weiss to the interrogation room, she finally found herself standing on the roof of the building she was in just moments ago.
The cold sea breeze nipped at her skin, with her loose hair swaying with the wind. Her eyes gave the city a glance. It wasn't Vale city that for sure, but the designs still remained, albeit much dirtier and unkempt. Armsmaster stood by her side now.
"So Armsmaster, show me your whole moon." Weiss said with fake cheer as her eyes finally turned upwards to the heavens. And there up among the stars was the-.
Wait, this wasn't right. This time of year showed the moon in its full broken state, with its pieces often being visible even as it rotates. Weiss fell to her knees as her breathing started to shake, her ice blue eyes wide as she stared at the moon.
And she screamed.

Huzzah! The next chapter is complete! I hope it was enjoyable. There will be some similarities at first, but Schnee's Bay will be completely different when compared to Schnee: Hero or Huntress.
Time to work on The Stag's Daughter.
Chapter 5: Five
Chapter Text
There were many things Armsmaster expected to happen when he decided to take Miss Schnee onto the roof, an escape attempt, some denial that the room was a hologram and didn't actually exist, or that this happened to be a plot by the Simurgh. What he didn't expect however, was for her to have a mental breakdown upon seeing the full moon. As soon as the first scream escaped her lips, Armsmaster was already on the move.
"Miss Schnee? Miss Schnee, are you ok?" Armsmaster said loudly as he quickly took a knee besides the young woman. The only response he received was another tortured scream as a river of tears streamed down her face. The two PRT officer's that came with him ran by his side, with one of the duo standing a few feet back, their containment foam launcher at the ready. A curt shake of his head made the officer lower the launcher.
That wouldn't be the proper way to handle first contact with an individual from another Earth, and could damage any goodwill he may have built. Weiss' hands held her head as her erratic breathing did little to calm the girl. Damn it. Grabbing a tranquilizer that he normally used for criminals, Armsmaster pulled out the epipen shaped device, and quickly, but gently, jammed the head into the exposed part of Miss Schnee's neck.
Nothing happened.
Jamming the tip of the tranquilizer in another spot, Colin's eyes widened under his helmet as he finally got a good look at the head of his device. The needle was now flatten and blunt, as if it attempted to penetrate a steel wall. His eyes darted to the area where he attempted to inject the relaxant, his scanners already working. The needle failed to pierce her skin, instead being damaged in the process.
Was Miss Schnee a parahuman, or was there something else at play here?
Colin's lips formed a thin line as he stared at the white haired girl before him. He turned to the two PRT officers.
"Contact Director Piggot and Miss Militia."
Eventually, Miss Schnee finally appeared to calm down, and was escorted back to her temporary room, under Colin's orders of course. While Director Piggot wanted results quickly, he wasn't going to risk the girl lashing out, at least not now. Armsmaster still had plenty of questions for her, regarding her world, and the belongings that had arrived with her.
The color crystals and dust were being stored in his lab to perform some preliminary scans until he could identify what they were. Her earrings also seemed to be made of the same substance, with the firearm in the rapier's hilt also containing the same colors as the substances.
Then there was the rapier itself, being made out of metal alloys that just didn't exist in this world. The blade had what appeared to be runes carved into it, and was extremely sharp, sharper than his latest halberds. Colin needed answers, and he was sure that Miss Schnee was most likely thinking the same way.
"How is she doing?" Armsmaster approached the same two PRT officers from earlier, who were now assigned to guard Weiss' room.
"She just finished eating, Sir." Agent Topaz said, her voice a bit sympathetic. "She didn't eat much in the end though, only picking at the food." Agent Stone who stood next to her nodded in agreement. That wasn't good.
The sound of footsteps made Colin angled his neck just slightly.
"Miss Militia." He said neutrally. Hannah was the closest person he had to a second in command, and was a good hero. She followed orders, and performed well in the field.
"Hello Armsmaster." Miss Milia's eyes seemed to smile as the lower half of her face was hidden by the American flag she wore as a bandana. "Are you ready?"
"Of course."
Chief Director Costa-Brown ordered him to take the lead on discussions with Miss Schnee, especially since it would be better for her to speak to someone she was already familiar with, however brief it may have been. Pulling his tinkertech tablet from his side, he turned to the door.
At least his psychology degree was going to be useful here.
Ash, that was all that Weiss tasted in her mouth. Wiping her now puffy eyes, Weiss forced herself to take another bite of food, only because she knew she was going to need her energy if she needed to escape and find Myrtenaster. The chicken tasted like ash, and the smell made her want to vomit. Good thing she was used to not eating for periods of time, often done to annoy Father, or because her ballet instructor said she looked too fat.
That had all stopped as soon as she met her friends at Beacon.
She giggled softly as she took a sip of water from the plastic cup on her tray, the red plastic shaking ever so slightly as she raised the cup to her lips. At least that washed away the taste of ash, but it did little to ease her thoughts.
Who would have thought that she would have ended up in another world, one with their moon whole? Another world that sounded so impossible, yet here she was, never to see her friends again. Did they win at Haven? Did they lose? Was Weiss the only one to fall in battle? Dozens of thoughts raced through her mind, dozens of questions, but she knew that most of them would never find an answer.
A sharp knock came from the door. Raising her now red eyes from the tray, Weiss took a deep, shaky breath.
"Come in." The door slid open, revealing Armsmaster with his scroll. Beside him was a shorter, yet tanned woman who was dressed in a utilitarian outfit, with a red, white and blue bandana hiding everything beneath her green eyes. Ah, another huntress?
"Hello Miss Schnee." Armsmaster said, immediately walking to her side. He frowned upon seeing how much food she still had on her tray. "This is Miss Militia, another member of the Protectorate ENE."
"A pleasure to meet you, though I wish it could've been under different circumstances." Miss Militia said, her voice pleasing and calm. She reminded Weiss of Blake, minus the cat ears and amber eyes.
Weiss nodded slightly in agreement, her throat was a bit sore from all that screaming and crying earlier, but her aura was already doing its job.
"We understand that this is really quite life changing, so feel free to ask us any questions you want." Armsmaster interjected. "Or if you wish, we could take turns in asking questions to make it even."
"Very well." Weiss said, doing her best to keep her voice calm and level. It was a hard thing to do with the storm that was raging inside of her.
"I'll go first then." Armsmaster looked at his scroll. "Earlier in our previous conversation you mentioned a mask that was modeled after Nevermore, could you expound on that?"
There was little Weiss could do to stop the light laugh that escaped her throat, her eyes narrowing as she hardened her face.
"I suppose that means you have no idea what a Grimm is." That should've been obvious since not a single Grimm arrived after her episode on the roof.
Armsmaster and Miss Militia shared a brief look, but Weiss had spent years dealing with the board of directors back at the Schnee Dust Company headquarters in Atlas. These two would be easy to read.
"The creatures of Grimm are monsters without souls that were drawn to feelings of negativity…" Weiss started to speak blankly as her hands turned into fist.
She would've been better off dead.

Another one completed! Now I'm either going to work on another of my Worm stories, so another update for Schnee's Bay should come out either this weekend or early next week depending on how fast I write, work has been extremely busy.
Time to turn Worm into Weiss the Musical.
Chapter 6: Six
Chapter Text
If someone had told Weiss over a year ago that she would end up stuck in another world, she would've called them insane and perhaps insult them to their face, and behind their back. Now? Now she was living proof that other worlds did exist, worlds that were vastly different from her own.
A world without Grimm? That was every huntsman and huntress's dream, except there was one problem. Instead of Grimm, these people had Endbringers, which were much more powerful than any single Grimm, except maybe Salem, who she definitely didn't mention. Weiss was sure that the two 'heroes' weren't mentioning everything, so she held back as well. Not exactly lying per say, just holding back a few details or omitting some facts.
"You mentioned aura, could you explain what that is in more detail?" Armsmaster asked, his eyes focused on the scroll in his hands. The armored man was hungry for knowledge, and reminded Weiss of those Atlesian specialists that Father would 'request' to help defend an important shipment from the White Fang.
"Aura is the manifestation of one's soul, and since Grimm don't have souls, they don't have aura." Weiss said boredly, her voice on guard. "The strength of a person's aura varies, and along with Dust, helped humanity to fight back against the Grimm hordes."
"Dust, those canisters that we found on you, is that dust-" Armsmaster said as soon as she finished speaking.
"I believe it's my turn to ask a question." Weiss said dryly, giving the man that looked like General Ironwood a glare. Was it the beard? Most likely, though the General was a much nicer person.
"Ask away." Miss Militia entered the conversation. She spoke up every few questions, but she mainly remained outside of Weiss' question and answer with Armsmaster.
"Why do you hide your faces?" The only people that wore masks back on Remnant, as far as Weiss was aware, were criminals like the White Fang and Raven Branwen. Sure Atlesian soldiers wore helmets that covered the top of their heads, but that wasn't the same as Miss Militia's bandana which offered literally no protection without aura.
"Most people appreciate having their personal lives kept separate from their cape lives, and it serves as a protection for our friends and families." Miss Militia said, her voice still warm. "Most criminals claim that it's due to the unwritten rules, though they only apply them when it suits their needs. The PRT and Protectorate try to play along to keep the peace."
Weiss didn't like that answer, it sounded like this world was full of cowards, or was she being callous? Being a Schnee meant that she always had a target on her back, being the victim of more than a few assasination attempts.
"Hm, very well." Weiss shrugged. Who was she to judge these people's strange customs? Besides, she needed to get on their good side so she could find out where Mrytenaster was.
Armsmaster spoke up again. "Now about that dust…"
Weiss had a feeling that this conversation was going to take a while.
"What are you thinking, Emily?" Chief Director Costa-Brown's voice was blunt and straight to the point. They were currently watching the livestream from Armsmaster's helmet, along with Dragon. The Chief Director wanted a representative from the Guild present, especially if Schnee proved herself to be a threat.
"If she's telling the truth about leaving her home to fight monsters, then I'd say she's an exemplary person, and would be a fine addition to the Protectorate." Emily answered honestly. "Though, I really doubt someone sane would do the same in her position."
"Some people are born with an innate sense of heroism, not being able to stand still when they see injustice." Dragon added, her avatar visible in the top right corner of the screen.
"Either way, she's a child soldier." Emily said bluntly. "Training to kill monsters since she was a little girl? Their whole society seems to be based around survival." At least she wasn't a parahuman, they were all broken in some shape or fashion.
"That means the people of Earth Remnant are resilient, and they could prove to be an asset should we find the reason Miss Schnee ended up here." Director Costa-Brown spoke up, her tanned face serious. "Try to recruit her, but don't push her. If Schnee can train others to unlock their aura, then she shall be considered the second coming of Scion."
Soldiers that weren't broken mentally and emotionally that could stand up to capes? That would and could change everything, and change the power balance between the PRT and the gangs.
"I'll have an offer drafted." Emily finally, her steel gray eyes turning to the screen with the Chief Director.
"Good, send me a copy of their discussion once its concluded." Chief Director Costa-Brown smiled, a rarity. "And arrange for her lodgings, the funds have already been allocated."
"Yes Ma'am." Emily nodded politely.
"Oh, and Emily, don't fuck this up."
With that, only Dragon and Emily were left watching the stream with the white haired girl. Emily had no doubt that the girl was dangerous, she could see it in her eyes.
Hopefully she was telling the truth.
After what felt like a couple hours, Armsmaster and Miss Militia finally left to let her rest, promising that dinner would be sent soon. Weiss didn't care, she didn't feel like eating anything despite the grumbling that came from her stomach.
Her mind was racing, and she could feel her body start to shake as soon as the door closed behind the two 'heroes'. Heh, heroes, real heroes didn't exist. Anyone who called themselves a hero didn't deserve the title, in Weiss' opinion at least.
Now Ruby, Ruby was a true hero, with her beautiful silver eyes. Weiss failed in holding back another sob as the full weight of the world crushed her.
She would never see Winter again, her beloved older sister who captured everything wanted to be, and Klein, the man who treated her more like a daughter than Father ever did.
And the rest of her team, Blake, Yang, Ruby, she didn't get the chance to say goodbye. Weiss failed them, did they think she was dead? Did they move on?
Weiss' arms fell to her side weakly as she finally managed to get her breathing under control. Her dry lips parted slightly, as her hoarse singing voice filled the room, not caring if those guarding her outside were listening in.
"I never felt that it was wise to wish too much…"
Weiss felt cold.
A/N
This came out faster than expected because I accidently updated two stories in one day yesterday. The Schnee: Hero or Huntress chapter was supposed to be released today.
And I decided to include Weiss' singing, it won't be as much as H or H, but it'll be there to add some flavor.
Chapter 7: Seven
Chapter Text
The next morning came before Weiss even knew it as she started to stretch her tired body. She hadn't even realized she fell asleep as she stared at the roof all night, until she passed out. Still, sleep had proved that it would not be a safe haven for Weiss to escape from the world.
Everytime she closed her eyes, silver ones would stare back at her with disappointment.
After stretches, another masked soldier, the same as the ones that stood guard outside Weiss' room, brought in her breakfast. They left as soon as they arrived, placing it on a small table that had been brought in for her.
The smell was revolting, and it was as tasteless as the food from yesterday, but Weiss still forced herself to eat it. Even if it was poisoned or drugged, her aura should be enough to protect her, not that Weiss believed the Protectorate was planning on it, but it didn't hurt to be cautious just in case.
Weiss sighed softly as she stared at the now empty tray. She felt numb, as if she was just going through the motions. What was she to do? She was an heiress, tossed aside by her Father in favor of Whitley, she was a huntress, now without any Grimm to fight, but she was still Weiss Schnee, without the rest of team RWBY.
Her eyes turned to the door, her guards most likely standing outside, listening in on whatever she did at this very moment. Escaping would be easy, the Arma Gigas could easily tear through the building, allowing Weiss to leave this prison. If she wanted to be discreet, she could even summon just a copy of it's sword, until she found Myrtenaster.
Weiss shook the thoughts out of her head and made her way back to bed, sitting down carefully with her back straight and chin up. It didn't matter that she was in another dimension, she was still a Schnee and would act as such.
"I want to go home." Weiss murmured as she leaned her head backwards as the cold air from the air conditioning helped her relax somewhat. Home wasn't the Schnee Manor, or a physical place persay.
It's wherever Ruby was.
Closing her eyes as she took in a lungful of air, Weiss heard the door open. She opened one eye to get a look at the rude intruder who didn't even bother to knock.
"Good morning Miss Schnee." Armsmaster gave her a curt nod. Surprisingly, he didn't have his scroll, or tablet as the people of this world called them, in his hands.
"Good morning Armsmaster." Weiss said blankly, opening her other eye. She really needed a bath, and to handle personal hygiene, at least her room had a small restroom, which was passable for the moment.
It still made this place feel like a prison.
"Director Piggot of PRT here in Brockton Bay would like to meet you." Armsmaster said as he gave her a look, probably staring at the bags that were under her eyes.
Ah yes, the PRT that supervised the Protectorate, or was it the other way around? Yesterday was a blur, and as much as Weiss loved to study, her brain was filled to the brim with new facts that some were starting to mix.
"Very well." Weiss angled her head slightly as her bangs tried their best to obscure her vision. It felt a bit weird not walking around in her signature ponytail.
"Lead onward."
There first thing Emily noticed when Weiss Schnee walked into her office, wasn't how white her hair was despite being a few decades too young to have that many, or how short the girl actually was when compared to Armsmaster's live stream.
It was the scar that went over her left eye.
"Good morning Miss Schnee, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Emily Piggot, Director of the PRT ENE." Emily said as soon as Schnee took a seat in front of her desk, with Armsmaster standing off to the side.
"A pleasure to meet you, Director Piggot." Weiss said politely, bowing her head ever so slightly. Her light blue eyes didn't reveal anything, and neither did her facial expressions.
"Now that we're done with pleasantries, I would like to say, welcome to Earth, despite the unfortunate circumstances that led to you being stranded here." Emily continued. Schnee's face remained on guard. "Despite your situation being exceedingly rare, the PRT does have experience with those from other dimensions, and as such, have developed protocols for such events."
Schnee remained silent as she flexed her jaw.
"The PRT is here to help you, with anything that you may need. We can have you declared a refugee and give you citizenship within the hour." Chief Director Costa-Brown was going to offer that anyways, just to get the girl a more favorable impression if she didn't decide to join the Protectorate or Wards.
"People don't offer help out of the goodness of their hearts, without wanting something in return." Schnee said with the voice of a businesswoman. "What does the PRT want in return for helping me?"
Emily leaned back in her chair slightly, and pulled out a thin folder from the top drawer attached to her desk. She slid it to the spot in front of Schnee.
"The PRT only wishes for more information about your world, however, we are also willing to offer you employment, such as a position within the Protectorate, complete with salary and lodging." Emily spoke as Weiss started looking through the folder.
"Hunters-"
"Huntsmen, and huntresses. Hunters are a completely different profession that hunt animals that aren't Grimm." Schnee looked up for a brief second, correcting Emily's mistake. "Or humans." Ah yes, they were trained to hunt Grimm, humans, and faunus, those parahumans with animal features, as long as they were criminals.
"After all, huntsmen and huntresses were your world's version of the Protectorate, were they not?" Emily followed up without a beat. She wasn't going to make the same mistake twice.
"From a certain point of view." Weiss said as she closed the folder and slid it back in front of Emily. "Your lawyers are competent, I can say that much, but that's going to have to be rewritten."
"And why is that?" Emily said, hardening her voice, trying her best to remain civil.
"The pay ratio, the rights to decide my public image without too much interference from your PR department…" Weiss shrugged, as her eyes formed a sharp glare.
"And the awakening of aura."
A/N
Another short one sadly. I have already decided between two cape names for Weiss, so I'll probably end up flipping a coin on that.
How she keeps her identity a secret if she decides to do that, or how her costume would look shall be the next couple things I'll have to decide. I'm leaning towards using her Schnee: Hero or Huntress hero outfit. Suggestions are always appreciated!
Weiss is going to have to invest in a lot of wigs.
Chapter 8: Eight
Chapter Text
Despite her relatively young age when compared to others in the business world back on Remnant, Weiss was certainly not an idiot. She had spent countless hours, when she wasn't training or studying, attending board meetings with Father, and Atlas high society was as cutthroat as the bandit tribes that made the wilderness of the Four Kingdoms their home. So no, Weiss wasn't an idiot who was going to sign the first piece of paper that was placed in front of her without properly examining every loophole and subtext. Every sheet of paper, every paragraph, every sentence, every word was going to be examined.
Even if Director Piggot's silver-like eyes made her extremely uncomfortable, like an older, meaner version of Ruby's.
"What about unlocking aura?" Director Piggot said, her facial expression guarded, doing her best to keep her face neutral. She was failing of course, but it wasn't her fault Weiss could see straight through her.
Father had been an adamant supporter of the military, so Weiss knew their type. General Ironwood was a good man, but he wasn't the only officer that had the support of the Schnee family.
"Unlocking the aura of another person is extremely personal and draining." Weiss said simply, she nodded towards the folder. "Wanting me to unlock the auras of people I don't even know is extremely offensive, and since I'm from a different dimension, I'm not even sure if you all are even capable of having it unlocked."
Director Piggot scoffed, but nodded her head slightly. "We'll save the unlocking aura conversation for another day, once you're adjusted."
Now, Weiss did not expect that. Technically the PRT and Protectorate held all of the cards, and could easily attempt to force her into a binding contract. Were they trying to do a soft sell? Or did someone above Director Piggot order her to get on Weiss' good side? Life wasn't always white and black, everything was shades of grey, so it may have been a mixture of multiple reasons.
"I also want complete control of my image. No offense, but I don't trust your PR people." A Schnee was always a Schnee, and Weiss did not want to be forced to dress up like an idiot. "And no masks."
"You do realize that would mean you're never going to have a moment of rest, everyone and everything that you care about will be threatened by the gangs." This time Armsmaster spoke up. Weiss turned to the armored hero.
"Everyone and everything I love isn't here. I have no attachments to this world, no friends and no family." Weiss narrowed her eyes. "No masks."
She was used to having a target painted on her back anyways.
Her answer seemed to have shut up Armsmaster, who remained silent.
"Anything else?" Director Piggot clenched her fist. Weiss smirked as the cracks in the Director's facade started to show. Clearly, she wasn't expecting her to be competent.
"I want my belongings returned to me, including Myrtenaster, my scroll and Dust." Myrtenaster was an extension of herself, and without her beloved sword, Weiss felt rather naked. Her scroll was also one of the last remnants from her world, containing photos and videos that were now priceless. The Dust could always be grown with help from her aura and semblance, but she needed them in her possession for that to happen.
"Done and done." Director Piggot said after a moment of silence.
Armsmaster spoke up again. "But the Dust-"
"Can only be operated by a person with aura. To you, it will be nothing more than a pretty rock to stare at." Weiss interrupted crossing her arms. "And even if it didn't, I spent my whole life around Dust, I know everything there is to know about it." Dust was her life, as much as weapons were Ruby's. Armsmaster frowned, but nodded curtly.
"Done, as long as you share more information regarding them." Director Piggot said instantly.
"Deal." Weiss motioned her head towards the folder. No Schnee would ever take a deal that wasn't at least fifty-fifty, unless it would benefit them in the future. Everything that happened today would set a precedent.
"Now let's get your lawyers in here and fix that."
Colin decided that he respected Miss Schnee. Despite being stranded in another world, she managed to keep a level head, one that was desperately needed out in the field. Hopefully she was as skilled as she claimed to be.
The tinkertech she called a scroll could easily change the world by itself, being just as advanced as some of his own machines, and it was apparently able to be replicated. He just needed to get Weiss' permission to take it apart and study its mechanisms.
"Members of the Wards graduate into the Protectorate once they turn eighteen, however, we shall temporarily place you with the Wards until you have adjusted to living here." Director Piggot placed a new folder in front of Schnee. "To compensate, your pay shall already start at a Protectorate level salary."
Miss Schnee opened the folder, flipping through various pages as her eyes scanned each word. Eventually, she placed the folder back onto the Director's table and grabbed the pen that was also placed in front of her.
"It looks like we have a deal, Director Piggot, Armsmaster." Miss Schnee said as she signed her name at the bottom of the page with little pageantry.
"Welcome to the Wards." Armsmaster said. She looked much better now that she wasn't on life support. "You'll be a part of the Protectorate in no time."
Weiss gave him a sad smile. "Thank you."
"Armsmaster and I shall finish up here while Miss Militia gives you a tour of Headquarters." Director Piggot took the folder. "We want to make your stay here as comfortable as possible." Schnee nodded in response.
Hopefully whatever the Director needed done could be resolved quickly.
Colin still had a lot of questions to ask.
A/N
Another short one sadly, still it was a fun one to write. I'm proud that I'm able to keep up with my schedule so far.
Oh and on the topics of omakes, I enjoy reading them. Those I deem non-canon shall be placed in Apocrypha, and sidestory for those who are at least semi-canon.
Thanks for reading!
Chapter 9: Nine
Chapter Text
As expected, it felt better to walk around without an escort of guards that most likely had orders to detain her should Weiss show any signs of wanting to escape. The beige clothing she wore was still ugly though, extremely ugly. Like the rest of the building, everything was vaguely similar to the architecture from Vale, which was weird. At times she felt like she was walking through a government building in Vale, trying to pay off some official to get Yang out of jail. As it turned out, despite being a criminal, Junior did actually have some pretty decent lawyers.
"And this is the cafeteria. It never closes since there's always someone on duty." Miss Militia pointed toward a double door that had a coffee sign. PRT headquarters was bigger than Weiss had expected. They had a large garage, a small hospital, and dozens of rooms, including a simple training area. Weiss would probably find herself there most of the time.
It wasn't as impressive as Beacon, Haven, or the other two huntsman academies, but it did the job.
"I see." Weiss eyed the large framed portraits that lined the walls. The Wards, or junior heroes which is what they basically were, had their photos plastered almost everywhere, along with those of the Protectorate. She even spotted one of Armsmaster, who seemed to have his frown permanently etched onto his bearded face.
"This way, please." Miss Militia led her down another hallway, the duo walking past several men and women in PRT uniforms, all who gave the tanned woman a respectful nod or salute. They stopped at another door where Militia pressed a small button. "These elevators lead us to the Ward base."
The 'hero' pulled a wristband from one of her many pockets, and held it out to the former heiress. "This will let you pass the sensors without sounding an alarm. You'll be fine once we add you to our system."
Weiss nodded, and an awkward silence filled the air around them.
"So, what is your world like?" Miss Militia spoke up, turning head ever so slightly to look at Weiss. What was Remnant like? Until now, Weiss had never really thought about it.
"It's beautiful." Weiss said softly. The Forever Fall forest in Vale was breathtaking with thousands if not millions of trees whose leaves were the color of blood. The tundra of Solitas was majestic, with the ancient Schnee's surviving the freezing cold and hordes of Grimm to become one of the most powerful families in the Kingdom of Atlas. That wasn't even mentioning the mountains of Anima and the oasis of western Sanus. "But cruel to those who are fooled by its beauty."
"Like a roses' thorns." Weiss could basically hear Miss Militia's smile under her bandana.
Silver eyes stared into Weiss' own sapphire ones as the smell of flowers overpowered her senses.
Blinking several times and forming a frown, Weiss released a sigh as the elevator soon came to a stop, her stomach feeling as if it was dropped on the floor.
"Sure, if its thorns wanted to kill you for no other reason than existing."
An obnoxious alarm started to sound the moment Weiss and Miss Militia stepped out of the elevator. Blake would have hated it the same way she hated Ruby's foghorn and whistle. The two offensive pieces of equipment resulted in the younger girl being chased by half of the faunus on campus, with Velvet at their head.
Yang had streamed the whole thing, which made their team leader go viral for a few days until it died down. The memory brought a small smile to Weiss' lips. She missed them all so much.
"The alarms are for the Wards, letting them know that they have visitors and that they should mask up." Miss Militia explained as they walked up to another set of double doors, this one better defended and armored. "It'll be up to them if they want to unmask or not."
"Of course." That much was obvious. As much as Weiss disdained masks, mostly because of her experience with the White Fang, for others it served as a protection for them and their families. Judging by the portraits of them that were everywhere, they were also pretty young.
The doors opened after Miss Militia entered a password off to the side. Entering her new home, Weiss raised an eyebrow as the doors closed behind her.
It was basically a living room, with some ginger in a domino mask watching cartoons on the large television that sat off to the side. Seated next to him was a mousy looking boy with brown hair. On the adjacent couch was a young girl with blonde hair.
"Hey Miss Militia." The ginger said, leaning his head back to view them. His eyes widened he caught sight of Weiss. "Woah, is that natural or do you just use a lot of hair dye?"
Weiss had to bite her tongue to stop herself from firing back. These people weren't used to the colorful styles of Remnant, so she shouldn't take offense. Still, she wasn't going to take that sitting down.
"My hair is very natural, for your information." Weiss said, narrowing her eyes slightly to prove her point.
"Clockblocker." Miss Militia said in a disapproving tone. "Vista, Kid Win, meet your new teammate, Weiss Schnee."
The girl, Vista Weiss assumed from the portraits, formed a large grin and jumped up from her spot, making her way over.
"Finally a normal girl!" Vista said, extending her hand. She seemed a bit confused for some reason. "How come you're not wearing a mask?"
"I don't need one." Weiss said, politely shaking the younger girl's hand. Vista made Ruby at the beginning of the school year look like a grown woman. "And I'm not fond of hair dyes and wigs." She moved a lock of hair behind her ear. That caused the three children to stare at her in shock.
"Are you German or something?" Ginger boy, Clockblocker apparently, spoke up again. What a childish name, one that easily spoke for his character. Well, they were children, and this wasn't a world filled with Grimm, so of course they would be relaxed.
"Or something." Weiss shrugged, forming one of her signature 'Heiress' smiles. Director Piggot had said to be vague when it came to her backstory, until one with fewer holes could be used.
"Your room should be ready in about an hour, and Armsmaster will pass by with your belongings." Miss Militia slid into the conversation.
"Thank you." Weiss bowed her head politely as Miss Militia left soon after, telling her to socialize.
Now that was easier said than done.
A/N
Time to work on the Stag's Daughter and decide what Weiss' hero name will be. She'll definitely need one since even those who are unmasked use them. Edelweiss, Beacon, and RWBY are the last three in the running.
Now I need to get Glenn to convince her.
Chapter 10: Interlude Red
Chapter Text
Weiss was on the verge of falling asleep when a knock at the door interrupted her. After a long journey from Atlas, which included crash landing after dealing with a swarm of Lancers, and being held for ransom by a wandering group of bandits, whose leader just happened to be Yang's Mom, Weiss was exhausted. Sliding off of the bed in the rented house that Qrow managed to obtain, Weiss slowly walked over to the door. Whoever it was must have a good reason for waking her up in the middle of the night! They were going to Haven Academy tomorrow and put an end to whatever plot Cinder had in motion.
Opening the door slightly, Weiss was greeted to the sight of beautiful silver eyes, ones that she delighted to stare into.
"Hey." Ruby gave her a smile, one that Weiss easily returned. It had been close to a year since they had last seen each other, and they were now different people. That much was obvious by Ruby's physical growth. Weiss could see how she was related to Yang, especially with the pajamas and tank-top she currently wore.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping with Yang. I'm sure you two have a lot to catch up on." Weiss smirked as she leaned against the doorway, crossing her arms which caused the sleeping shirt she borrowed from Ruby to expose part of her stomach, exposing her pale skin to the artificial breeze from the air conditioner. The pajama pants were Yang's, and were a few sizes too big and long for Weiss, but they were comfortable.
"Yeah, but she's snoooring so I won't be able to get any sleep." Ruby complained softly, careful enough to not wake anyone. Blake would have been able to catch every syllable with her superior hearing. "Plus you're a better cuddler!"
Weiss smiled and started to close the door. "Good night Ruby."
The dark haired girl stuck her leg in the gap, her aura protecting her from any bruising. "Wait!" Weiss opened the door again with a raised eyebrow. Ruby held a pillow she had brought out from behind her back and stared at the ground with a slight blush on her face.
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" Ruby squeaked as she held the pillow even closer. She was so cute.
"Of course, though I wasn't expecting the great Ruby Rose to be so straightforward. You should've brought me a bouquet of flowers." Weiss' teasing made Ruby's face and ears turn the same shade as her namesake.
"Weiiiiiissss!" Ruby whispered scandalously.
"All you had to do was ask." Weiss opened the door enough to allow Ruby to enter. Closing the door behind the dark haired girl, Weiss walked back to her borrowed bed and laid on it. She gave Ruby, who was still standing by the door, a head tilt. "What are you doing over there?" She patted the empty space to her side.
"Yay!" In a blur of roses, Ruby basically jumped onto the bed, and not even a few seconds later, the two were holding each other close, Ruby's head in the crook of Weiss' neck. She mumbled something under her breath.
"Hm? What did you say?" Weiss said with a small blush forming on her face, her arms wrapped around the scythe wielder.
"Are you worried about tomorrow?" Ruby said softly.
"Of course not. I'm sure everything will be fine." Weiss brushed a bang that blocked Ruby's eyes. "We're Team RWBY after all." More like RWY since Blake was still missing, but that was still more than half of the team. "With you as our fearless leader, anything is possible."
"Hehe you're so silly Weiss." Ruby sounded tired. "Can you sing me a lullaby? Like you used to?"
"Mhm." Weiss hummed. "I have a new one for you." Ruby enjoyed Weiss' singing, even back at Beacon, back when they were happy and life was normal as can be.
Ruby mumbled something that sounded like a yay. Weiss started to sing softly, just loud enough for Ruby to hear.
"There's a garden, where I go, if you meet me there no one will know…"
Everything would be just fine. They had each other after all.
"In the springtime, in the sun, we can be alone without anyone…"
Weiss formed a small smile at the sound of Ruby's light snores. Humming softly as she pressed her lips against the scythe-wielders forehead, Weiss felt her body relax.
This was all she needed in life.
The sound of feet falling through freshly fallen snow was easy to hear, since it happened whenever she took a step, and when a certain someone always tried sneaking up on her. Ruby angled her head slightly, the red tips of her bangs doing their best to block her view.
Lilac eyes stared back at her, with worry deeply ingrained in them.
"Are you ok, Ruby?" Yang asked, her voice cracking near the end of her question. The answer should have been obvious, especially with the bags that had formed under Ruby's own silver eyes.
"No, Yang." Ruby croaked as she finally turned her body. Wrapped around her neck was one of the few possessions Weiss had left behind at their rented home back when they were in Mistral.
A red scarf, with a rose and a snowflake intertwined.
"I miss her." Ruby grumbled, holding the scarf even closer.
"I do too." Yang wrapped an arm around Ruby's shoulder. "But we need to keep moving if we want to make sure Weiss' sacrifice was not in vain."
Each word sent a golden spear through Ruby's heart.
"She's alive." Ruby suddenly said harshly. Yang, Blake and the others didn't agree with her.
"Ruby-" Yang started, only to be silenced by Ruby's ugly glare. She hated each time they had this conversation, it always led to an argument, and Blake having to defuse it. It took all of Ruby's self control to stop herself from screaming.
This was all Jaune's fault.
A/N
This chapter was taken from one of the flashbacks from Schnee: Hero or Huntress, albeit with more details and an extra scene. It does its job as an interlude though, and it adds backstory for those who aren't as familiar with RWBY.
There won't be as many updates this week for all of my stories due to work. The next updates should come out by this Friday at the earliest.
Thanks for reading!
Chapter 11: Ten
Chapter Text
The Wards seemed decent enough, as far as personalities went. Clockblocker, who revealed his real name to be Dennis, was easily the most annoying of the three that were at Ward HQ at the moment. According to Missy, the others were either out on patrol or at school. Another, the one they called Gallant, was manning the console, whatever that was, they didn't bother explaining.
Dennis and Chris just sat there playing video games, as if it was just any other random day, asking a random question every couple minutes. Now Missy, she was a sweetheart, and Weiss hadn't even known her for more than an hour. She was just so cute, like an even younger version of Yang, and not as brutish or explicit. And no, it wasn't because of her blonde hair.
"So Triumph is the current team leader." Weiss said politely, keeping her back straight even as the other three were laid out comfortably on their furniture.
"Yup." Missy popped the P at the end. "He's on patrol with Aegis, passing on the reins and stuff since he's the next oldest."
Just because someone was the oldest, or may have been the most experienced didn't mean that they would make a good team leader. Weiss had to learn that the hard way, if only she could go back in time, most of her problems would have been solved. Ruby was a great team leader, doing her best despite her inexperience.
"I see." Weiss' voice was soft. It felt weird, sitting here, it was as if she didn't belong, which she didn't. This wasn't Remnant, this wasn't her world. There was a lot she was going to have to learn, new customs, new history, probably some type of new math.
Chris and Dennis kept playing their game, their armored super soldiers fighting waves upon waves of purple aliens.
"I'm so glad you're normal." Missy said suddenly. "The Brockton Wards are basically a glorified sausage party, and Shadow Stalker's not the easiest person to get along with."
Ah Shadow Stalker, the only other female member on the team.
"She's such a bitch" Dennis spoke up, never taking his eyes off of the game. "She drank the last of my orange juice after brushing her teeth just to call a pussy. Stalker didn't even bother to replace it!" His character died, and had to be revived by Chris.
These kids, not Missy, were weird, or was Weiss just too mature? And the way they spoke was so crude.
"Watch your fucking mouth Dennis." Missy threw a pillow, forcing the ginger to use his body to protect his controller. Weiss bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from speaking.
These children were extremely weird.
Thankfully, Armsmaster arrived with little fanfare, the only announcement of his arrival being the alarms that someone was approaching. Casually sliding into the room with a rolling table that held two large metal suitcases, the sight of the Protectorate leader made Dennis and Chris pause their game.
"Miss Schnee, Clockblocker, Kid Win, Vista." Armsmaster said in greeting. He had his normal frown, which Weiss was pretty sure was attached to his face permanently. "Miss Schnee, please follow me, your room has been prepared."
Finally!
"It was nice meeting you all." Weiss said politely, bowing her head ever so slightly. Missy gave her a sweet smile, one that Weiss returned. She would have time to see what she's working with later. The rest of her life sadly.
Chris mumbled something that Weiss didn't bother to catch, while Dennis simply waved as they turned back to their game now that they knew Armsmaster wasn't there for them.
Without another word, Armsmaster led her down a hallway that she hadn't noticed before, his armored hands pushing the rolling table gently.
"Who built your weapon?" He asked suddenly, not even bothering to turn towards her. Ignoring his rudeness since he was helping for now, Weiss smirked.
"I designed it myself. I take it that you examined Myrtenaster while I was unconscious?" Weiss kept talking, not giving Armsmaster a moment to respond. Rudeness shall be met with rudeness. "Those runes on the blade were carved on there by me, and I did most of the metalwork myself." Under the careful watch of a master weaponsmith of course, who did a couple of the more calculated mechanisms.
"The blade is well made, and its metal is more durable than any ores here." Armsmaster nodded as they paused in front of a door. "This is your room."
Taking a step towards the door since the Beardmaster, as Dennis so delightfully nicknamed the hero, showed no signs of moving, Weiss turned the knob, revealing a rather spartanlike room.
"You'll be allowed to decorate as you see fit, most of the Wards go home at the end of the day, but some will occasionally stay overnight." Armsmaster followed the white haired girl into the room.
The room was bigger than the makeshift prison cell she was confined to her first couple days here, with a decent sized bed, vanity mirror, desk and a closet.
"Triumph will explain more once he returns." Armsmaster pressed a button on the rolling table, locking it in place. He opened both suitcases with ease, revealing Myrtenaster, Weiss' scroll, tiara and Dust earrings, her blood covered dress, and her various Dust crystals and canisters containing its refined powder.
"Thank you." Lifting Myrtenaster under the careful examination of Armsmaster, Weiss inspected the blade, running an aura protected finger along it.
Yup, still sharp and well maintained. Her eyes drifted past the dress and landed on the Dust. She only had a limited supply, and it would take a while before she could grow more with the techniques that were passed down the ancient Schnee family. They had lost everything after the Great War, only crawling to the top of the Atlesian high society due to Grandfather finding the Dust vein. Her glyphs would be essential to growing more.
"Everything is accounted for, and I must say, I'm surprised you didn't try sneaking a piece." Weiss smirked. If Armsmaster was offended, he certainly didn't show it.
"As you said, it would be useless in my hands." Armsmaster spoke bluntly. "You don't leave a gun in the hands of a child, even if it's not loaded."
"Wisely said." Weiss was pretty sure that Ruby was born with a gun though. The thought only sent a stab through her heart. She took a deep breath. The numbness of the day was starting to fade, and it wasn't even evening yet.
"I'll let you unpack." Armsmaster moved towards the exit. "Director Piggot has authorized a monetary gift, to help you get clothes that don't make you look like you just escaped PRT custody."
Weiss' lips formed a thin line. They wanted her to be in their debt, and there was nothing she could do as of yet, to stop that. And she didn't have any other clothes, except for her expensive, torn, blue dress. They were definitely going to use this in the future.
"Give Director Piggot my thanks." Weiss said neutrally.
This sucked.

This was supposed to be posted yesterday but life got in the way. Nothing much happened, but I hope it was enjoyable.
Chapter 12: Eleven
Chapter Text
After storing her belongings and giving Myrtenaster a few practice swings and thrust, Weiss took a seat on her new bed. Despite not physically exerting herself, the former heiress was exhausted. It felt like there was a huge weight on her shoulder trying to pull her down, whether onto the floor or the grave, it didn't matter to Weiss. This would have been more bearable if Ruby was here with her, but that wasn't the case.
Weiss was stuck here, all alone. Standing back up briefly and grabbing her tiara from her new vanity, her light blue eyes stared at the metal, one of her few belongings from home. Ruby said that it looked cute on her.
She would have grabbed her scroll, but the solar charger on it would need a chance to do its job once it had a moment, and Weiss didn't want to risk the invaluable object getting damaged.
It had all of their memories after all. Taking a deep breath, Weiss exhaled.
"Light glimmers in a flower, like jewels in a dream..." Weiss sang softly, spouting whatever words that dripped from her heart. Music was her escape whenever the pressure from Father would try to overwhelm her, when not even Klein's baking could help to comfort her.
Winter's escape was literal since she ran off to join the military and rarely visited home. Whitley didn't have to worry about anything, since Weiss was the heir until just recently.
"The sky brings life, love to everything." Random words and sentences as Weiss' voice was barely above a whisper. She didn't know how thick the walls were here, and she didn't want the Wards to hear her.
"At times I've thought, I'm not enough. The chains that tied my heart, but there's still a path that lies ahead for you and I." Weiss continued. It pained her to admit that whatever goals and plans she had made for the future were now dashed, torn to pieces like the Grimm whenever they came upon an unsuspecting village.
"Memories fade away, clouds of yesterday." Would Weiss remember the way Ruby's voice would crack whenever she got too excited? Would she remember how red Blake's face would get when Yang made an innuendo? Her scroll, Weiss would defend it with her life if need be. She would have to see if she could transfer her files, if it was possible anyways. "With no one to love, is this life worth living?"
Weiss could die now. What if that sent her back home? She almost died because of Cinder, what if she had died and this was the afterlife? Did that mean Pyrrha was around here somewhere? And Penny as well? No, such optimism would be foolish, and if she tried killing herself, what if she was wrong?
What if Ruby and the others manage to find their way here, only to be greated to a grave that contained her body?
"Come back to me, and stay by my side." Weiss voice grew a bit louder as she closed her eyes shut. She didn't escape Atlas, fly halfway across the world, survive a crash, and get captured by bandits to just end up in another forsaken world!
"I feel my heart shake, come ease this ache."
Yang's beautiful lilac eyes widened in surprise when Weiss presented her with a new pair of boots, the finest money could buy.
"I'm standing over here, reaching for you a million miles away, come back and stay."
Blake blinked a few times before smiling, accepting a box filled with gorgeous and expensive teacups.
"No matter how far, the memories may be…"
Winter pulled Weiss to her feet, gently wiping the blood that came from her freshly carved scar, courtesy of Father and the Arma Gigas.
"When I close my eyes, you're all that I see…"
Klein opened the door to Weiss' room, holding a delicious looking cake while making a silly face that earned him a barrage of giggles.
"Come back to me…a million miles away."
Ruby gave Weiss a large grin, pulling the former heiress' hand as they walked through a store in Vale.
Weiss licked her dry lips and rubbed the corner of her eyes. She had ran out of tears already.
"Come back and stay…"
After her impromptu concert, Weiss finished straightening her bed when her stomach started rumbling. Her aura must've been taking a lot out of her. Closing the door behind her, Weiss' head glanced from side to side. From which way did Armsmaster lead her from? That way! She could even vaguely see the Wards common room from here.
Not even a minute later, Weiss found herself back into the almost familiar room. Missy wasn't there anymore, and neither was Dennis. Chris was sitting on the couch, playing with some weird colorful cube as he watched a cowboy that had all of their features covered run away from monsters, a short red girl with poofy hair at their side.
"Hello Chris." Weiss said politely, her eyes finding themselves drawn towards the small kitchenette. She wasn't feeling confident enough to make it to the cafeteria without an escort.
Chris flinched slightly, but he turned his head to look at her. "Oh, you scared me." That much was obvious.
"Where are the others?" Weiss' legs started moving, stepping around the couch to take a seat.
"Missy and Dennis went out on patrol." Chris shrugged. "I think Triumph and Aegis' shifts are done."
"Ah I see." Weiss said a bit awkwardly. She didn't really feel a connection with the mousy boy, not how she had with Missy. The younger girl being extremely adorable probably helped with that.
"So uh, where are you from?" Chris asked slowly, as if he was trying to word his sentence just right.
"Somewhere far away." Weiss answered a bit too harshly, which made the boy deflate a little. She needed to work on her tone. Before Weiss could apologize, another voice entered their conversation.
"Who the fuck is this?" The femimine voice was harsh, and sounded an awful lot like a thug. Angling her head ever so slightly, Weiss found herself face to face with the metal mask of a stern looking woman with a dark hood. "Oh great, another weak bitch."
Weiss' lips formed a thin line. No one talked to her, or at her that way. From what Missy said about Shadow Stalker, the girl was brutish and aggressive.
Just another bully.
"Weiss Schnee, a pleasure to meet you. Judging by that edgy mask of yours and your horrible manners, you must be Shadow Stalker." Weiss had faced the Spring Maiden in battle, and killed countless Grimm. Weiss wrinkled her nose slightly. "When was the last time you showered?"
Who was this Shadow Stalker when compared to all of that?

The song featured is A Million Miles away from the Belle movie. More RWBY songs shall appear in the future.
Did anyone like Ice Queendom?
Chapter 13: Twelve
Chapter Text
It was amusing, sensing the rage that came from the little girl that wore such a gaudy mask. Weiss' smirk only seemed to enrage Shadow Stalker even more, which was rather predictable. She was supposed to be a future hero? Savior of the innocent and a protector of the weak? Yeah right, her attitude made Weiss want to laugh.
"What did you say you fu-" Shadow Stalker started speaking, until she was interrupted by Weiss lifting a single finger, giving the younger girl a superficial sad smile.
"Oh no, she can't hear. Do you want me to speak slower? A bit louder?" Should Weiss have been this aggressive since she was just now meeting the girl. Perhaps not, but no one talked to her in such a manner, not even Father, Whitley, or anyone that disliked her, of which there was a long list. That only made Stalker even angrier, the rage practically radiating off of her. If this was Remnant, Weiss was sure that that would have been enough to summon a horde of Grimm.
"My, name, is, Weiss, Schnee." Weiss said slowly. "Your newest teammate. I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but that would be a lie, and I don't fancy myself a liar." Funny since she was really good at lying, courtesy of Father's lessons.
"What? So you're some fucking skinhead that got caught?" Shadow Stalker stood up to her full height since she was hunching over for some reason. She was definitely taller than Weiss, but just a tad shorter than Yang. And skinhead? Where did that come from? Another one of this world's weird customs, or was the message lost in translation? Valish, well English, wasn't Weiss' native language after all, despite her proficiency.
"As you can see I have a head full of hair, and no it's not dyed." Weiss shrugged and turned her attention back to Chris' cartoon. She was too hungry to deal with the brute. "Now shoo before my nose gets used to your smell."
After what sounded like a growl, Shadow Stalker stomped off muttering something that sounded like 'racist bitch' under her breath, leaving Weiss and Chris with just the sounds of the cartoon's rather boring slapstick comedy. That went much better than she expected.
"H-How did you get Shadow Stalker to listen to you?" Chris asked after a few minutes. Weiss' eyes never left the television screen.
"Based on what Missy and Dennis said, she's hard to work with and tends to bulldoze through you guys." Weiss had dealt with Raven Branwen, a girl around Ruby's age would pose no problems. "What happens when an object meets an unbreakable wall?"
Chris nodded slowly. He was still playing with that colorful cube, twisting and turning its sides.
"And she doesn't know my powers are, so attempting to assault me is out of the question, unless she's an insane idot." Which she probably was, but at least she wouldn't try fighting Weiss, at the moment that is. The various security cameras in the common room most likely helped with that as well.
"Ah ok." Chris said dumbly, staring at the television.
Weiss' stomach started to hurt again. Yeah, she wasn't going to stay hungry just because she didn't know her way around here yet.
"Hey Chris."
"Y-Yeah Weiss?" His hands kept fidgeting with the cube, and one of his legs kept tapping against the floor.
"Take me to the cafeteria, I'm hungry and I still don't know my way around here."
"O-Ok."
The next day, Weiss had her appointment with Glenn Chambers, the PRT Director of Public Image. Naturally, Weiss wasn't going to let some random stranger decide what she was going to wear, she barely even used her personal stylist back home. Once she was done settling herself into her new home she would have to buy some new clothes, instes
Sighing as she walked into the temporary office the man had apparently comandeered the day before, anarchy reigned as soon as she opened the door.
Dozens of men and women who didn't seem much older than herself skittered around, some holding mannuequins with costumes, others with messy folders. Seated in the center of the chaos, directing everyone like the maestro of a symphony, was one of the most unattractive men Weiss had ever seen, and that was saying something. He was obviously Glenn Chambers since he was the one giving orders.
It wasn't because the man was fat, because anyone could be attractive as long as they presented themselves in the right way, but it was pretty obvious that this person also knew that. He wore a baby pink button up shirt that was half tucked in and half not, with the ugliest green shorts Weiss had ever seen. He didn't have enough hair for a mohawk, despite the amount of gel he used.
Taking a step backwards to escape the chaos, Weiss' hair color seemed to have exposed her amongst a sea of black, brown, blond and the occasional bright color like blue or red.
"Ah Miss Schnee! Welcome!" Mr. Chambers said, his voice rather grating, but someone deep at the same time. Turning back around, Weiss flashed the man one of her signature heiress smiles.
"Mr. Chambers I presume?" Weiss started walking towards the man, who rolled his chair behind a desk near the back of the room.
"Correct." He started typing on his computer immediately. "Someone bring Miss Schnee a chair!" He shouted that last part rather rudely.
Not even a few minutes later, Weiss found herself sitting in front of the ugly man, his light eyes hidden behind his glasses analyzing Weiss' form. Ah, that's the real reason behind his appearance. Each gaudy ring, each crease, each food stain was carefully chosen to bring him as much attention as possible. Underestimating Mr. Chambers, despite what was stated in Weiss' contract, would be a huge mistake.
"We have plenty of work ahead of us before your debut Miss Schnee-can I call you Weiss?" He kept talking, not giving her a chance to respond. "Let's see, unnaturally beautiful just like the report said, white hair that doesn't look like someone's Grandma." Mr. Chambers said out loud, raising an eyebrow slowly. "The scar is rather unfortunate, but it does help bring your other features out as well."
This was going to be annoying.
A/N
This was supposed to come out hours ago, until I made the mistake of searching my name on the Worm story discord servers. It wasn't pretty, turns out I have a reputation for being a horrible writer, which caused me to stop for a few hours. Oops. It may be true, but all of this is to entertain and have fun, I'm far from a professional. I'll keep writing until I'm burned out.
And on another note, No, I'm not related in any shape, form or fashion to Ariel Schnee. I've been using the moniker Krieg Schnee as my internet name for years, before SB/SV and before I even read Worm. Its not modeled after the villain Krieg.
Thank you for reading!
Chapter 14: Thirteen
Chapter Text
Glenn Chambers was more competent than Weiss expected, he had to be since he was the head of the PRT PR department. After a few minutes with the man, which revealed his intelligence and subtle attempts at manipulating her, he started to remind Weiss of one of Father's friends, those stupid bootlickers.
"Since you refuse to wear a mask, we're going to have to show off how pretty you are, the publics going to eat you up." Mr. Chambers said as he loudly typed onto his computer. He gave her a side eye. "Some makeup to cover that nasty scar?"
"No." Weiss crossed her arms. She already did that back on Remnant when she released a new album after receiving her scar from the Arma Gigas, since Father didn't want anyone seeing his 'precious' daughter defiled. Of course he never mentioned that he was the reason Weiss had to fight the possessed armor and ended up with the scar.
So she stopped covering her scar just to spite him.
"If I wasn't willing to wear a mask, what makes you think I'll cover up my scar?" Weiss narrowed her eyes, giving the fat man a glare, one that he just so happened to ignore.
"It was worth a try." Mr. Chambers shrugged. "Now every hero has a theme that they go for, usually. It helps to sell toys, costumes and the like. For example, Armsmaster's huge with the sci-fi nerds, and he even had his logo on girls underwear at some point. I made him a killing with that deal."
That made sense, since the Protectorate had to make money somehow. There was a limited amount of merchandise dedicated to her back home, most noticeably her albums and various posters.
"Miss Militia is popular with immigrants and patriots." Mr. Chambers started listing various examples, and boasted about the publicity they gained because of him. Standard negotiation tactics of course, ones that would have worked on a lesser person. Weiss was definitely not a lesser person.
"I take it that you have several themes prepared for me then." Weiss interrupted the man mid-rant. He paused and lightly coughed into his right fist. Note to self, don't shake his hand once they were done.
"Yes, there are several that are currently a work in progress, any of which you can choose." Mr. Chambers turned his computer screen. "And I am also aware of the deal you made with Piggot, so just don't choose something too ugly or insane."
There were several outfits on display, ranging from armor covered ball gowns, to skirts that would even make Yang blush. Weiss' eyes paused on a blue and yellow dress, its short sleeves puffy and decorated with red.
It was hideous.
"I managed to get the copyright for that one from the Big Mouse." Mr. Chambers explained. "You are aware of what your name means in English right?"
"White Snow." Weiss said dryly. She already heard Yang make several jokes about the snow being Weiss' affinity back home. Valish always ruined the beauty of other languages, or English in this case.
Mr. Chambers frowned. "And if you flip that?" This was a waste of time.
"Snow White, you know I don't see the point in this. Continue." Weiss used her heiress voice.
"Hmmm.." Mr. Chambers looked like he was squinting, but it was hard to tell with those blocky glasses of his. "I should add diva to the list. Can you sing?"
"As a matter of fact, yes I can sing." Weiss raised a lone eyebrow. This whole conversation was starting to get on her nerves, but she would survive.
Mr. Chambers started typing loudly again. "You're going to be a star Weiss, I can feel it in my kidneys. Now you don't have to make your decision today, since preparing a debut takes some time. You'll have to choose your costume, and cape name since you decided that you're better than me at my own job." He said that last part bitterly.
Oh, did he mean like Armsmaster and Miss Militia?
"I don't need one." Sure some rather famous huntsmen and huntresses had monikers, but they were few and far in between.
"Everyone needs one, even New Wave uses them, and they publicly unmasked themselves years ago." Mr. Chambers spoke as if she was stupid. "And despite your deal with the PRT, I'm sure they would also agree with me. A cape name will help keep your private and public seperate. I'll give you a list of ones that I recommend."
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Weiss said dryly. Could she compromise with this? The PRT did let her get away with not having to wear masks.
"Good. I'll also provide a folder full of different costumes and themes you can choose. The ones circled in green are the ones I would prefer having you choose." Mr. Chambers pulled out a binder from the messiness of his desk. Dropping it into Weiss' hands, it was heavier than she expected.
Forming a grimace, Weiss sighed internally. "Great."
Not great.
"Is the suit ready for power testing?" Colin spoke up as the connections between Chief Director Costa-Brown, Director Piggot, Dragon, and himself broadcasted the live stream from the PRT headquarters in Brockton Bay.
"Affirmative." Dragon said, her avatar forming a small smile. She had volunteered one of her machines today, one that was going to be repurposed later anyways.
Miss Schnee stood in the center of a plain room the side of a high school gym, her blade pointed towards the ground as she held it in her left hand. She refused to use any Dust much to Colin's annoyance, stating that she would need to conserve what limited supply she had for more important matters. As disappointing as it was, she did offer several valid points. Dragon's machine appeared from the opposite side of the room. It was decided that a spar would do better instead of traditional testing.
Pressing a button on the side of his helmet, Armsmaster spoke again. "Miss Schnee, you may begin."
The moment those words left his lips, a large snowflake formed behind Miss Schnee launching her forward towards Dragon's suit. She was faster than Colin expected, extremely so. Miss Schnee danced in between the legs of the suit that was at least three times her height, until she finally swung her blade, slicing through the joints of Dragon's suit one by one.
"This spar isn't going to be enough." Chief Director Costa Brown said once Miss Schnee had dismantled the old machine. "Find out the limits of her aura, and how she performs without it."
Colin frowned, but nodded his head slightly. He agreed with the Chief Director, but he also didn't want to push Miss Schnee too hard, in case it might alienate her from the Protectorate and PRT. He still needed to find out how the technology and Dust from Earth-R worked.
"Prepare the standard power test, if we have to adapt from there we will." Director Piggot added.
"Very well." Armsmaster said simply, there was nothing else to it. Orders were orders, and they needed to know Miss Schnee's full capabilities and limitations before sending her out into the field.
This was going to be interesting.
A/N
I'm proud to admit, that out of all my Worm stories, Schnee's Bay is easily the best out of them, when it comes to my writing at least. The most creative crossover goes to Do You Fear Death? since few people are insane enough to do a POTC crossover.
As usual, I hope today's chapter was fun!
Chapter 15: Fourteen
Chapter Text
Power testing was more annoying than dealing with Glenn Chambers, Weiss had decided. At least with the ugly man she had some form of entertainment in seeing what horrible costume he had come up with. Power testing on the other hand, was extremely boring, dull, tedious, and stale. The highlight being that fight with that mech in the beginning, which ended in disappointment as Myrtenaster easily tore through its metal armor. The tests were simple, punch that concrete brick as hard as she could, stab another brick with Myrtenaster, see how much weight her glyphs could hold, run laps around the room with and without her glyphs, over and over again. At least the few PRT officers that tried shooting rubber bullets at her tried to make things interesting.
Luckily testing was over by the time Armsmaster realized that she could turn any object into a weapon thanks to her aura. Now Weiss found herself in the safety, relatively, of Ward HQ, Glenn's list of names in her hands, flipping through it casually. Some of these were just plain terrible, or extremely cheesy.
"Tsk, Snow White." Weiss muttered as she flipped the page. The strange man had came up with hundreds of names, yet none of them were useable. "Definitely not Sailor Snow or Snowflake." Good thing Weiss negotiated the rights to decide her image, it would've been horrible being stuck with some of these.
Her thoughts were interrupted with the sound of footsteps. Hopefully it wasn't Shadow Stalker again, Weiss didn't have the patience to deal with the brute.
"Hi Weiss!" Missy said, wearing a green outfit that was covered in a few matching pieces of armor. She held a helmet in her small hands. Next to her was what seemed to be a boy, one covered from head to toe in silver and gunmetal armor attempting to give the impression of a knight. "Whatcha reading?"
"A list of names that Glenn wants me to choose from." Weiss shrugged as she closed the folder without another thought. These were all horrible names. She would rather just go by her own given one.
"Glenn? As in the Glenn Chambers, head of PR? Damn, one of his assistants handled my debut. I guess you caught his eye somehow." Missy plopped onto the seat beside her. "And you get to choose your own name?! Lucky!" Missy said that last sentence teasingly, which made Weiss smile. She was so cute.
"I suppose." Weiss shrugged as she eyed the knight suspiciously. She had seen his posters around the base, something Valiant. "And you are?" There were still Wards that she hadn't gotten the chance to meet, such as Triumph and Aegis. If they were avoiding her, then such rudeness would be hard to forgive, especially since they were acting as the team lead.
"Gallant." He said, taking off his helmet in one movement, revealing a rather plain boy with a charming smile. "You can call me Dean when we're out of costume though." He stood to the side of the couch, the piece of furniture likely not strong enough to support the weight of his armor.
"Weiss Schnee." Weiss gave him a polite nod.
"Oh, like edelweiss?" Dean's attempt at speaking Atlesian, uh German, was atrocious, and any more words would have been considered a crime.
"Edelweiss." Weiss corrected, sounding the strange word correctly. Missy and Dean gave her a strange look. "And no, what is it?" She doubted that he meant the phrase noble white.
Dean pulled out his phone from one of his armor's compartments, tapping it gently before turning the screen towards Wess. Missy stretched her neck to see the photo of a beautiful white flower.
"Edelweiss is a flower that grows high up in the Alps. Its meaning differs from person to person, but I hear that for some bravery, in order to see it you have to risk your life climbing the mountains." Dean explained, putting his phone away once Weiss was satisfied.
Edelweiss,hm, she liked the way it sounded, and it should be able to get Glenn to stop bothering her about choosing a name. She didn't even have to use it, just in an official capacity.
"I see." Weiss turned to her folder. Yup, Edelweiss was way better than the insults to the English language that were etched onto the papers. She would rather die than be called Frostbite.
"Your English is pretty good." Dean said, placing his helmet back on. Weiss frowned, but said nothing in response.
That sounded like an insult somehow.
"Miss Schnee's test results have come in." Chief Director Costa-Brown said evenly, her face neutral. Emily knew she was going to have to struggle to be able to keep Schnee in Brockton Bay, especially with how diverse her skills were. Emily would have to fight with everything she had. "Trump seven, ten if she's able to unlock auras, and several pages worth of classifications from Thinker to Shaker. Even her damn sword has a rating."
Of course Emily and Armsmaster knew this, they were the ones that submitted the report. If Schnee was able to replicate aura, that would change everything. Elite PRT squads equipped with aura meant a new world, raids on gang hideouts would have less casualties, villains would be more wary about trying to free their brethren on the way to the Birdcage. They just needed to convince Schnee to try.
Emily had to admit that she felt glad their interdimensional guest was on their side.
"Director Chambers has been instructed to have her debut as soon as possible, while refraining from antagonizing her." That last part Emily really doubted, especially from the few times she met the Director of Public Relations. Director Costa-Brown kept speaking, her voice remaining even. "Once Miss Schnee has settled in, encourage her to teach classes about her world, starting with the Wards."
Emily frowned, but bit her tongue. She would have preferred loyal officers being first.
"Ensure that she gets along with them, and if they don't, have them transferred." Chief Director Costa-Brown said ominously. "Schnee's worth several teams of Wards."
"So she's to reveal her true story about her background?" Armsmaster spoke up from his screen.
"Only to the Brockton Bay Wards, for now. We already have the contingencies in place if Miss Schnee's true origins are revealed."
Now that was surprising. Emily knew that Schnee would be important, but to have the Chief Director involved to this extent was almost unheard of.
"Of course Ma'am." Emily said, pressing her large hands together. "Armsmaster and I will ensure that everything runs smoothly."
Aura was going to change the world.

When I first published chapter 3 after a several month hiatus, I never expected it to get this much love. I was going through a slump, reading to give up on writing Worm fanfiction. The Stag's Daughter and Schnee's Bay helped to stop that.
Thank you all for reading and I hope you continue to enjoy future update!
Chapter 16: Fifteen
Chapter Text
The rest of the day passed by rather quickly after Missy and Dean left to go on their patrol. It would have felt slower if Dennis and Chris hadn't showed up, thankfully without Shadow Stalker. Dealing with her would have been annoying, but doable. Triumph and Aegis still haven't introduced themselves, which made Weiss suspicious. What were they up to? Were they being given orders to keep an eye on her, and neutralize her if necessary? Weiss sincerely doubted that they would be able, she was pretty sure she could take on the entire Brockton Bay Ward team and come out on top.
The next day came after another night of restless sleep, and silver eyes staring at her accusingly. Another day of just lounging around Ward HQ and attending a few meetings until her actual debut. She still hadn't gotten a chance to go out and explore the city, to see the people she was sworn to protect, and buy new clothes.
"Hey Weiss, do you have any other clothes besides those?" Missy asked, pulling her green visor off. She had just returned from patrol with Dennis, Dean and Chris had already left to replace them.
"I haven't had a chance to buy new clothes." Weiss answered truthfully, giving her ugly shirt and pants a glance. She preferred dresses, since they allowed her greater movement when combined with safety shorts. "And I'm not from around here, so I'll probably get lost somehow."
"We can go shopping together!" Missy squealed, excitement written all over her pretty little face. She would have gotten along with the others.
"Sure-"
"Oh she could go shopping with Vicky, she has much better taste than you Squirt." Dennis spoke up, playing some game where a man in a red hat raced against a turtle faunus. He still wore his costume, his clock helmet at his side. "And there won't be a risk to your identity, since Weissy here doesn't exactly blend in."
Missy threw another pillow which he dodged.
"Vicky?" She was aware that there was another female Ward aside from Vista and Shadow Stalker. Was that Stalker's real name? And they revealed it so casually?!
"Victoria Dallon, also known as Glory Girl from New Wave. They have the whole no secret identity stuff going on." Dennis' character was hit by a flying blue shell. He smirked, pausing the game. "And she's Dean's girlfriend."
"I'll keep that in mind." Weiss would rather go shopping with Missy, but she also didn't want to put the younger girl's identity at risk. The alarms started to go off, the red lights flashing every few seconds. Missy immediately placed her visor back on while Dennis just slid a black mask that did nothing to hide his identity over his eyes.
The doors opened, revealing Armsmaster along with two younger boys. The one to his right, and Weiss' left, wore a gaudy costume with a gold lion shaped helmet, just screaming for attention. The other boy wore a rust red costume with a matching helmet which revealed his eyes.
"Clockblocker, Vista, Weiss." Armsmaster said in greeting. Weiss only nodded slightly in return. It seemed that the Ward team leaders have finally decided to make themselves known.
How wonderful.
After Triumph and Aegis said their hellos, Armsmaster led Weiss to a meeting room, alone, which was already suspicious on its own. He closed the door behind her, and motion towards a seat which Weiss took.
"Have you been adjusting well?" Armsmaster's voice was awkward and forced, more military man than politician.
"Mostly." Food still tasted like ash, and she couldn't sleep well. Everything reminded her of home. Armsmaster said nothing, intertwining his armored fingers. "It's only been a few days."
"I see." Armsmaster nodded slowly. "I have been speaking with Director Piggot, and we decided that it would be for the best if you reveal your true background to the rest of the Wards, as long as you are comfortable."
Ah, so that was the real reason he called her in here, away from the others.
"All of them?" Weiss narrowed her eyes. Was that the reason Triumph and Aegis took so long?
"Only the ones that you are comfortable with. They're good kids, and they know how to keep a secret." Armsmaster responded. "Teams are built upon trust after all."
That was true. A house divided against itself would crumble at the slightest pressure.
"I'll think about it." Weiss pressed her hands together. How would they react? As nice as most of them were, definitely not Shadow Stalkers, they were still strangers.
"Triumph and Aegis have only been told the basics, but they are unaware of any details such as Earth-R." Armsmaster was surprisingly thoughtful. "We would also like to inform the rest of the Protectorate ENE, but only with your permission."
That was extremely thoughtful.
"I'll let you know after my meeting with Director Chambers." Weiss said evenly. She knew that an argument would come up since the fat man liked to be in control of everything. Armsmaster seemed pleased.
"And if any of the Wards are giving you any trouble, please do not hesitate to tell Miss Militia or myself." His voice was more serious than usual. Still, they had been nothing but polite to her.
They were definitely after something, aura to be precise if Weiss had to guess. Armsmaster had some politician in him after all.
"Thank you."
"You finally have a name huh?" Mr. Chambers no longer wore his half tucked in shirt, instead opting for a horrible green sweater covered in blue flowers.
"I do." Weiss said proudly. Time to see how he was going to react.
"Uhuh, spill girly." Mr. Chambers seemed annoyed and rather wary. He leaned back in his rolling chair expectantly.
"Edelweiss."
"Hell no." Was his immediate response. His jowls turned red as his dark eyes analyzed her.
"And why is that?" Weiss' voice was polite, but there was an edge to it.
"Brockton Bay is full of skinheads and Nazis. A German name is going to make you look like a sympathizer." Mr. Chambers grumbled. There was that word again, skinhead. Nazi was a new one though.
Angling her head ever so slightly, Weiss gave him a confused stare.
"What's a Nazi?"

Ahaha, the question that I'm sure most people have been waiting for. Weiss stories are my favorite to write, despite only having two that are constantly being updated, this one included.
I hope it was enjoyable!
Chapter 17: Sixteen
Chapter Text
As it turned out, Nazi was the shortened form of National Socialism, some political ideology from Germany. Their founder started a Second World War and committed genocide against people he deemed inferior. Even now, decades after their defeat in the war, the ideology still lived on somehow, in the stupid country that defeated Nazi Germany.
"Discriminating people because of their skin color or religion is stupid." Weiss said bluntly. Remnant was full of colorful people, from the darkest to the palest of people they were all treated equally, unless they happened to be a faunus, and even then that varied from kingdom to kingdom and from city to city. Atlas was obviously the most discriminatory, she knew that first hand.
"I agree." Mr. Chambers changed his computer's screen back to its homepage. "The Empire Eighty-Eight is one of the largest Nazi-inspired gangs this side of the coast, and they have connections in Germany." His voice was serious now. "A German name in Brockton Bay won't earn you fans, the ones that you're going to want that is." Racism never changed, just the victims, but that didn't mean she was going to let a bunch of racist decide what she was going to do.
"Everyone will know my real name anyways, Edelweiss stays." Weiss shrugged. She was used to people hating her name. The Empire, they sounded like a group that preyed on the fears of others. That's how it was back home, with people like Father who didn't personally hate the faunus, but used said hate in order to advance their own purpose. People always liked a scrapegoat when they didn't want to admit their own faults, or other problems. "And isn't refusing my decision because it's a German word racist as well?"
Racism was a two way street that escalated if left untreated, and just like back home, Weiss was sure that people could change. It took Ruby, Yang and Blake diving into her mind after a Grimm implanted itself in her heart, but Weiss got rid of her tendencies. Mostly, if she wasn't careful she would have allowed a slur to slip whenever she fought the White Fang out of habit.
"Touche." Mr. Chamber said dryly, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "You'll have to add something to your debut speech, to tell people you aren't a skinhead. And you're giving me more work to do." He gave up too easily, was there something else behind all of this?
"Of course." Weiss shrugged. If German names had a bad reputation because of the local gangs, then she would help change that. "You are getting paid to do all of this I assume."
If a Schnee could become friends with a former White Fang terrorist, then anything was possible.
After her meeting with Glenn, Weiss found herself back in her room. It wasn't like she had anywhere else to go for peace and quiet, she still get a chance to explore the city itself. She would have to ask Dean if his girlfriend would be willing to be her guide, even though she much prefered Missy's company, she also didn't want to put the younger girl's identity at risk. These American 'Heroes' really liked keeping their identities a secret. She didn't even know Victoria Dallon, and it hurt Weiss' pride having to ask a complete stranger for help.
"I wanna go home." Weiss mumbled as she laid on her bed, her loose white hair sprawled around her, eyes drawn towards the screen of her new phone. It was inferior to her scroll in every way, but at least it was replaceable. Her scroll full of photos and video was priceless.
If she was going to be a protector of these people, Weiss wasn't worthy enough to be called a hero, then she would need to learn more about them. She didn't know anything about the city, the gangs, or the people. American culture was different, and there were still phrases and idioms that she still didn't understand.
This would have been more bearable if Ruby was here, she made everything better.
Weiss turned the phone's screen off and threw it to the side, landing on the mattress. She reached for her decorative pillow to wrap her arms around it, when she paused just as her fingers touched the soft fabric.
What was she doing?
What would the others say if they found Weiss in her current state? Curled up on a bed that wasn't hers, moping around all day as she waited for things to happen. She had been here for almost a whole week, but she still hasn't even done anything to fix part of her predicament, like her clothes.
They wouldn't even recognize her.
Weiss balled her hands into a fist and sat up, her hair draping her face like curtains. She was a Schnee, former Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, the biggest company on Remnant, and she was a member of Team RWBY, the strongest team at Beacon Academy, despite any arguments Nora may bring up. Jaune really brought their team average down, but at least he wasn't trying to ask her out every five minutes. She stood up slowly, and grabbed the pair of ugly sneakers that had been provided for her, slipping them on with ease.
Not even five minutes later, she found herself back in the Ward common room, Dean and Chris sitting near the kitchenette which gave them a clear view of the television.
"Hey Weiss." Dean said, most of his attention diverted to his phone while Chris entertained himself with cartoons. Each of them had a bowl of cereal in front of their seats.
"Dean, Chris." Weiss said politely as she made her way towards them. Chris gave a slight wave, looking away after a half second of eye contact, which was weird. Dean looked up from his phone and gave her a small smile. Weiss' stomach started to hurt, she didn't like asking people for favors in general.
"Dean, can I ask you for a favor?"
"I really don't understand why you're dragging me along." Amy muttered under her breath as Vicky carried her through the air. It's not that she didn't like hanging out with her sister, far from it, it was the fact that she liked it too much.
"Dean asked me for a favor!" Vicky smirked as they finally landed onto the beautiful concrete. As nice as it was to be flying with Victoria, nothing could ever beat the solid ground. "Apparently one of the new Wards plans on unmasking herself, and she needs help buying clothes. She's new to town and needs a guide to show her around."
And she couldn't buy them herself or go out with the other Wards because? Amy kept that part to herself, biting her tongue as they walked into the PRT HQ.
"Did Prince Charming mention how she looks?" Amy said instead, her voice bored and annoyed. This was going to be a waste of time. They walked past the second set of doors, a few tourist already pointing at them.
"He said we'll know her as soon as we see her." Vicky said, scanning the lobby. Amy sighed and followed her lead. Let's see, random PRT officer at the front desk, a random Armsmaster cosplayer with a cardboard halberd, a group of tourist walking towards the gift shop and a-
That girl, Amy, had seen her before. She stood near one of the vending machines, staring at it with her long white hair done in a messy ponytail. While unconscious she was pretty, but awake and not dying, she looked gorgeous. Not as gorgeous as Vicky of course, but attractive enough to get more than a few stares from other visitors.
"I'm guessing that's her. Let's go!" Vicky grabbed her wrist, pulling her along. Amy could see why she needed help buying clothes, even with her limited fashion sense. Those PRT issued shoes were extremely ugly, even it she looked like a Disney princess.
"Excuse me!" Vicky said with a large smile. The white haired girl who Amy had healed just a few days ago turned her head, staring at them with sapphire blue eyes. It was still hard to believe that she was all natural, but that should be a given since she was from another world, despite whatever Armsmaster said. "The lion sleeps tonight."
Ah, the code that Vicky had given Dean so they could find out if that was actually the girl. Miss Perfect's resting bitch face didn't help much as she frowned.
"Aweem away." Her voice was soft, and it had a slight accent. Was that German? Oh great…
"Yay!" Vicky grinned. "I'm Victoria, and this is my sister Amy." Vicky pushed her closer. The shorter girl's RBF disappeared as she formed a small smile.
"A pleasure to meet you, my name is Weiss Schnee."

This was supposed to be released yesterday, but some stuff came up so it was delayed. Hopefully it being a tad longer than usual makes up for it.
Time to debate whether I should also make a spotify playlist for the story, since Weiss will definitely be singing.
Chapter 18: Seventeen
Chapter Text
Did they have vending machines back on Remnant? She didn't remember seeing any, but they seemed like something that Father would have been interested in. It sold snacks, without the need for someone to keep an eye on it. A single person could manage a dozen of these, Weiss guessed. Someone with aura could easily steal from it though, breaking the plastic that kept from the chips and candy. Perhaps the metal and plastic glass could be reinforced to prevent such robberies? But then again, that would raise the cost of producing them and cut into the profits. Maybe-
"Excuse me!" Someone rudely interrupted her monologue which helped pass the time. Weiss turned her head every so slightly to look upon the intruders. A taller blonde girl who looked like a cheaper version of Yang gave her a large grin. Beside her was a mousy, shorter girl with brown hair and a dusting of freckles. Both plain girl's stared at her expectantly, until the blonde one spoke again. "The lion sleeps tonight."
The code Dean had told her that Victoria was going to say to verify that she was indeed Weiss. It was stupid, but its stupidty was where it shined. No one else would have expected it, yet that didn't stop Weiss from forming a frown.
"Aweem away." As genius as it was, that still didn't stop it from sounding stupid.
"Yay!" Plain Yang said, her smile turning into a grin. She pushed the mousy girl forward, her arm hanging around her neck. "I'm Victoria, and this is my sister Amy."
They didn't look like sisters, not that Weiss should judge. Ruby and Yang were like the sun and moon, one tan, busty and tall, the other pale, not as busty, and a tad shorter. Their hair colors were also the complete opposite, unlike Weiss' own siblings. Some of Winter's baby pictures looked almost exactly the same as Weiss' own. She formed a small smile in response. "A pleasure to meet you, my name is Weiss Schnee."
"Dean told me that you needed some help since you're new to the Bay." Victoria's smile never left her face, while her sister's face glowered. The group of people wearing hero memorabilia across the room kept staring at them.
"Indeed." An awkward silence filled the air, until Victoria took another step forward.
"I flew here with Amy, so we'll be walking and taking the bus, showing you the sights and all that." Victoria spun on her heel and pointed towards the door. "Let's go!" She locked her elbows with Weiss' arm and practically dragged her out.
Weiss was already wishing she asked Missy instead.
Brockton Bay looked like a mixture of Vale and Old Mantle, with the city becoming a tad dirtier the farther away they walked from the PRT building. A few pedestrians gave her white hair a weird look, and a few more approaching Victoria to take a photo with her. And guess who they asked to take said photos usually.
That's right, Amy, which was rather amusing in Weiss' opinion since apparently she was also a known hero.
"And that's Carlo's Bakery, which is funny because the owners are Italian or something." Victoria kept pointing out random stories. "And that pizza shop looks good, but it's really not. They took forever the last time I was there with Dean and the crust was more like a cracker."
Weiss nodded politely, not really interested in the conversation. Instead she allowed her eyes to wander. It was weird, not seeing any faunus or any Huntsman and Huntresses walking around with their weapons out on display. Still, she made sure to keep an eye on her pocket that had a few prepaid cards with the money Director Piggot had given her.
"You're not from around here." Amy Dallon spoke up, earning Weiss attention. She said it more like a statement, rather than a question.
"Did the hair or the accent give that away?" Weiss said with a smirk. She was aware of her Atlesian accent, as slight as it was. The English people spoke here also had a different accent when she compared it with those from Vale.
"Both." Amy seemed amused. Victoria finally finished her rant about a particular bad experience Dean had with what she called 'the Chinese restaurant from hell.'
"So where are you from? Germany?" Victoria hooked her elbow with Weiss' once more, much to her displeasure. She didn't like it when strangers touched her, but she had no choice but to play along for now.
"Something like that." Weiss shrugged as they crossed a street. She'd rather not give away too many details, and she didn't know these people! Discount Yang either didn't seem to notice, or she didn't care about her deflection. "So, where are we going?"
"The Boardwalk of course. That's where all the cute clothes are at." Victoria wink. Her blue eyes turned lilac for just the briefest of seconds. Damn it. Ignoring Amy's glare, Weiss nodded again.
"Lead onwards."
She didn't want to be here.
Weiss Schnee was an extremely weird person, Amy decided, and she didn't mean her personality, though that was a bit weird. Nevermind, all of Weiss was weird. Her white hair being completely natural, as well as her facial features and body, they were too perfect. She obviously wasn't from Bet, especially since Armsmaster made her sign a binder full of NDA's, and all the bacteria and microbes in her that Amy had never seen before. Even her German accent was weird! It felt a bit off at points. Amy wasn't usually a nosy person, but she needed to know more.
"How does this look?" Vicky pulled out a purple mini dress from one of the rackets. This was the third store, and Amy was pretty sure that there was no way there were going to be able to make it back to the PRT building with all those bags.
"It's cute." Weiss said simply, touching the hem of the skirt. "I'm not a fan of the material, but it's nice." In rich girl words, put that back and try again. Weiss ran her fingers through the racks and grabbed a red dress that would have made Amy blush if Vicky wore it.
It ended an inch above the knee and showed a generous amount of cleavage. The material itself was decorated with small roses. A white ribbon acted as a belt across the center. Weiss stared at it for a few seconds, ignoring Vicky who had found another purple dress.
"I'm going to go try this one on." Weiss muttered as she scurried off, leaving the two sisters alone. Vicky floated over to Amy's spot, where she guarded half a dozen bags while chewing on some gum, mint flavored of course.
"Hey Ames." Vicky smirked as she wrapped an arm around Amy's shoulder. "Can I ask you something?"
Amy rolled her eyes. "What is it?"
"Do you think she dyes her hair?"

This chapter was almost delayed, but I finally managed to finish it. I feel my writing starting to slow down again sadly, but hopefully I'll be able to keep my inspiration.
My copies of the RWBY DC comic and the RWBY X Justice League have arrived. Time to read those to hold me over.
Chapter 19: Eighteen
Chapter Text
"She's taking a while, isn't she?" Amy muttered, scrolling through her phone while Vicky kept searching through the racks, still looking for clothes.
"She's probably admiring herself in the mirror." Vicky shrugged, grabbing a white blouse that had transparent sleeves. "Ooo, this would be cute on her."
The PRT issued clothing Weiss wore were extremely baggy, as was the hospital gown she wore when Amy first healed her, and since she was too busy saving her life and being distracted by all her microbes, Amy didn't exactly get a good scan of her body, aside from the fact that she had only a little fat in her. She was too short to look good in that dress anyways, not even five feet if Amy had to guess. Maybe she should buy a similar one for Vicky's next birthday? Nah, if she did that her sister would just wear it on a date with Dean, and who knew how the rich boy would react, or what they would both do in that dress.
The door to the dressing room opened and closed. Amy didn't bother looking up, her eyes scanning random PHO posts. She'd rather be at the hospital than here, but then that meant leaving Vicky alone with the new girl, who just so happened to be everything she wasn't. She didn't care if Weiss was a Ward, Shadow Stalker was an example that even sociopaths can get away with anything.
"Damn girl, that looks so good on you, you're basically a model!" Vicky exclaimed. Amy could practically hear Vicky's skin stretch as she grinned. Huffing, Amy finally decided to look up, only for her face to heat up.
The tight dress perfectly clung to Weiss' form, with her long legs and a pair of matching white heels making her seem taller than she actually was. And no, the short girl was definitely not flat, not in the slightest. Amy tore her eyes away from the pale beauty.
Ok, this was weird. Were all the people where she came from this good looking? Or was this just a side effect of whatever powers she had? Alabaster always regenerated from everything, could her own powers be something similar to that?
That ugly scar that went over one of her eyes clearly said no. Some people were just born lucky, winning the lottery that was called genetics. Vicky was definitely one of those winners, unlike Amy.
"Thank you." Weiss smiled politely. She gave a twirl and looked at a nearby mirror, wiping the corner of one of her eyes when she thought no one was looking, not that Amy was trying to look at her. She turned to one of the workers. "I'll wear this on my way out, so add it to the tab."
Maybe it was a good thing Vicky didn't try putting it on, Amy was sure she wouldn't make it back home alive.
The sound of Weiss' heels clacking against the ground was a familiar one, one that she had desperately missed. As comfortable as those ugly sneakers pretended to be, Weiss was always at her best when she wore her heels and combat skirts. Ignoring the lecherous stares of a few strangers, Weiss stopped at the entrance of the PRT building and turned back towards her guides.
Victoria and Amy were both holding large bags full of clothing, despite Weiss' insistence that she could carry them herself.
"Thank you so much for showing me around today." Weiss formed her heiress smile. The two had wasted hours of their precious time to come and show her parts of the city, and buy some clothes along with other essentials. Now she wouldn't look like she escaped from some prison.
"Don't sweat it." Victoria winked. Amy seemed bored, her red face probably coming from the heavy bags that she helped carry. "It's not everyday I get a new shopping buddy that's not afraid of trying on new clothes."
"If you ever need my help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask me." Weiss bowed her head politely since her arms were busy. She detested being in debt to others, a habit that Father had instilled in her from youth.
Victoria waved her off. "Are you sure you don't want to go eat? There's a good Korean restaurant not far from here."
"Another day perhaps, I have a lot to unpack." Weiss lifted an arm for emphasis. Learning about new cultures sounded fun, but she also had to finish choosing her costume. She wanted to get that over with as soon as possible.
"I have your number either way." Victoria's smile never left. She nudged Amy who nodded absentmindedly. "Let's head on up then, Miss Piggy is used to us visiting."
Great…
It took over an hour, but Weiss finally managed to make her new room somewhat liveable. After the Dallon sister's dropped off her belongings, they made themselves at home in the Wards living area, which was perfectly fine with the former huntress-in-training. The peace and quiet was welcome, Victoria had turned out to be a chatterbox that didn't have an off button. Sadly, a soft knock at the door ended such tranquility.
"Who is it?" Weiss said loud enough to be heard, but low enough to not be shouting. She had changed from the red dress into a longer, more modest grey one.
"It's me." Missy's voice was the response. Placing the red dress on a hanger and sliding it into her closet, Weiss turned her head.
"Come in."
The door creaked open, revealing the younger blonde. She closed the door behind her, no longer in her costume.
"Is everything ok?" Weiss sat on her bed, hands folded in her lap. She patted the spot next to her, an invitation that Missy took.
Missy shook her head. "I don't want to talk about it."
"I see." Weiss pulled out a notebook that she had bought while she was out along with a cheap pen. She wasn't the best artist, but a rough sketch was better than nothing. She sensed Missy looking over her shoulder.
"Is that your costume?" Missy asked, the tension in her voice disappearing. It was a strategy that was old as time itself, changing the conversation, but Weiss didn't mind. It wasn't her business if Missy didn't want to reveal what was going on.
"Hopefully it will be." Each stroke brought the silhouette to life, a line here, another there. An awkward, but comfortable silence filled Weiss' room as Missy watched her draw.
"You're pretty."
"Not as pretty as you are."
Ruby would have liked Missy.
A/N
A simple chapter, but those help flesh out the story and the relationships between the characters. Readers of Schnee: Hero or Huntress should know that Weiss doesn't make friends easily, it'll take a lot of work. Weiss may look and act perfect, but she has plenty of faults.
On another topic, its RWBY tradition to come up with team names, so what are some Wards/ New Wave/Protectorate team names with Weiss that sound fun?
Chapter 20: Nineteen
Chapter Text
There was still a lot of work to do once the design for Weiss' costume was completed. She had to attend fittings, where Director Chamber's people took her measurements, then she had more meetings about her logo which most heroes had apparently, it ended up being her signature glyph in the end. Now they were going to sell action figures and posters of her, which was a bit weird. The action figures not the posters, she had a collection of those back at Schnee Manor which she kept as a memento from one of her tours.
"Good morning." Weiss forced back a yawn as she walked into the common area. Spending almost a month in the Wards HQ had made her stay feel more comfortable, aside from her lack of sleep, which always tried to elude her. Weiss had spent more than a few nights staring at the ceiling to avoid the accusing silver eyes that haunted her dreams. The only person in the commons was a dark skinned girl nursing a bruise on her face with a pack of ice, the others must've gone home for the night.
Judging by her snarl, that must've been Shadow Stalker. Ignoring the savage girl, Weiss made her way to the kitchenette to grab a simple bowl of cereal.
"If you keep glaring at me like that your eyes are going to fall out." Weiss said dryly, pouring the milk after the cereal. It wasn't her favorite food, and she would definitely prefer something else with better nutritional values, yet these too sweet cereal grains soaked in milk reminded her of Ruby.
Ruby would have poured more sugar if she thought no one was looking.
"Fuck you." Stalker said, sitting up from her perch on the nearby barstool and limped towards the hallway where all their rooms were. From the whispers Weiss heard from the other Wards, she was one of the newer members, and insane.
Missy said that she also went out on unauthorized missions, which was probably one of the reasons for that nasty bruise. Poor Triumph and Aegis had their work cut out for them. Speaking of Triumph, he would be graduating into the Protectorate a week after Weiss debuted, which would be happening tomorrow.
Weiss took a bite of the cereal, being careful to not smear her lips with the now sweetened milk. After tomorrow she would tell the team, minus Shadow Stalker, the truth about her background. It was logical, any relationship built upon lies and deceit would crumble at the first sign of trouble. She took another bite. The cereal tasted like nothing, just like all the other foods that reminded her of Ruby, but the texture helped to make it bearable.
Weiss hated soggy cereal.
"Are you nervous?" Vista asked as Weiss stared at herself in a mirror behind the stage that the PRT had set up. It had taken some practice, calling the others by their 'cape' names once they were in costume, but it was doable, she was Weiss Schnee after all.
"Of course not." Weiss formed her heiress smile. While she was comfortable with everyone's attention on her back on Remnant, the people of this world were a different kind of beast. The people here were strangers, their customs and social norms were unfamiliar. If Weiss was a lesser person, she would have backed down and hid in her room all day while crying. Crying was reserved for night time.
Director Piggot was still giving her speech, the speakers loudly echoing her voice. The Protectorate members had gone out already, much to the delight of the crowd judging by their cheers.
"Are you?"
Vista shrugged. "As long as I'm not the one talking I'm fine in front of crowds."
A PRT officer in full dress uniform marched up to the both of them, putting an end to any further conversation.
"Vista, the Wards shall be going out in three minutes." He spoke with a weird accent that oddly reminded Weiss of farmers.
"Thanks Sarge, I'll be right there." Vista patted Weiss' arm. "I'll see you afterwards!"
The two left afterwards as Armsmaster began his own speech. Weiss took a deep breath and lightly touched the mirror. What would the others say if they saw her like this? What if they were here with her? Would Weiss have accepted the PRT's help? Or would she have been happy to live out the rest of her days with her friends who had become closer than family? Ruby would have accepted the help, she always wanted to be a hero, she was a hero.
Except Weiss wasn't Ruby, she wasn't Yang, and she certainly wasn't Blake. Why waste more time wondering about what if's when she was here, dealing with the now?
"Edelweiss, it's almost time." She heard a lazy voice speak up behind her. It felt strange, being called a name that was so similar, yet so different from her own. Weiss tilted her head to look at the overweight PRT officer waiting on her.
"Thank you."
It wasn't everyday that Brockton Bay had a new Ward debut, much less two in less than four months. It brought an excitement for the city, they had one of the largest cape population's after all, and it was a welcome relief for most people despite the Wards just being a club for capes. How much drama did they have behind the scenes? Did they sleep together, break up and fight with each other? They were only human after all despite their age.
Still, it was kinda fun, seeing all the Wards and members lined up, their colorful costumes making them seem more like peacocks than actual heroes. Taylor didn't get a chance to see Shadow Stalker's debut, she was too busy trying to salvage the remains of a project Emma had decided to ruin.
At least it was winter break, which meant no school for two weeks, which meant no Emma. Peace and quiet at last, it wasn't going to last long.
Armsmaster turned the microphone back to Director Piggot, a heavyset woman who Taylor had only seen on the TV after Lung decided to play whack-a-mole with the Protectorate.
"I'm proud to present Brockton Bay's newest members of the Wards, Edelweiss." Director Piggot said, taking a step to the side as a small figure stepped out from heavy curtains. Taylor's eyes widened, and blinked several times. She wasn't that close to the stage, being several feet away and surrounded by people that really needed to take a shower, but she never expected to see the newest Ward's bare face.
"Hello everyone." Edelweiss said, grabbing the microphone with fingerless gloves, a weird gauntlet protecting her wrist, her voice having just the slightest hints of an accent. Her costume was more like a dress, with the body being a pretty shade of blue that showed some cleavage, with dark blue and back sleeves. The skirt flowed like a ball gown, but it was short enough to reveal knee high boots with heels. She had a sword at her side, attached to a belt with a symbol that Taylor's eyes couldn't make out. Her white hair was done in a weird side ponytail, with a tiara completing her look. "It's great seeing everyone here today, and yes, before you ask." Why wasn't she wearing a mask?
The gorgeous girl smirked as she raised her other hand, lifting just her index finger. The crowd erupted into whispers, with the flashing camera lights almost blinding Taylor, and they weren't even aimed at her!
"I am not a National Socialist symphasizer, and yes, I'm not wearing a mask." She winked, her scar doing little to take away from her beauty. What the fuck man? She was so short! But even from far away she looked tall enough, with the right proportions and curves.
That was so unfair.
Life was so unfair.
A/N
Yall know I had to sneak in a Taylor POV. She won't be part of the main cast, I already have plenty of characters to use, but she'll pop up here and there.
The costume used is Weiss' hero costume from Schnee: Hero or Huntress minus the bow.
Time for our next interlude!
Chapter 21: Interlude White
Chapter Text
"Straighten your back." A wooden stick smacked Weiss' back, causing her to stand straight, a sting causing pain to lance through her body.
"Your legs are too far apart." Another slight smack to her legs forced her to change her stance, Weiss' fencing pants protecting her just a little bit. Her aura hadn't been unlocked yet, so she felt the full brunt of each hit.
"You are gripping the handle too tightly. You'll just damage your hands at that rate and you'll lose control of the blade." This time, Winter didn't smack her arm or hands, much to Weiss' relief.
"I'm sorry." Weiss whispered. Her legs were tired from ballet practice, and she had ice skating once she was done with Winter, who decided to take over for her fencing instructor for today. She was hungry, her stomach sending pangs of pain throughout her body, but her ballet instructor said she was too fat. Father agreed as well, not verbally, but Weiss could see it in his eyes. She needed to be perfect if she was to be his successor.
"Don't apologize, you're a Schnee." Winter said sharply, dressed in the Atlesian Military Academies uniform. This was the first time she returned home since she left, and Weiss had to beg her to stay. "What has your fencing instructor been teaching you? Am I going to need to talk to them?" Winter's face was harsher, no longer the sister that Weiss used to know, but that wouldn't stop Weiss from loving her. Big Sister was amazing! Weiss wished she could be like her one day.
"No!" Weiss held her hands behind her back. "I'll practice more." She would have to fit that in between ballet, ice skating, and singing practice. That wasn't even mentioning the lessons Father was giving her on running the company. There would be no rest for the eleven year old.
Winter's face softened just a little before holding up a simple practice saber, made for slashing, the opposite of the practice rapier that Weiss held in her left hand. The portrait of Grandfather felt like it was staring at the Schnee sisters in the middle of their mansion's gym. Suits of armor similar to the one Grandfather wore were decorated around the room.
"Let's see how much you've learned in a year." Winter said, entering a simple stance with the saber aimed at Weiss, it wasn't a fencing stance. That must've been the one she was practicing at the Academy!
Entering her own unsteady stance, Weiss took a deep breath as Winter spoke in the old Mantle dialect. Weiss hardened her gaze. She would do her best to make Winter proud.
"En Garde, prêtes, allez!"
You want to become a huntress?" Father said coldly, his eyes harsh and full of disgust. Weiss nodded slowly, her eyes meeting the ground. "First Winter and now you? Do you think I've been teaching you how to run the company just so you can go off and kill monsters?" Father's voice was bitter.
"I wish to bring honor to the family, Father. Just as Grandfather did when he went out to hunt the Grimm." Weiss said carefully. She had been practicing for this moment for weeks now, waiting for Father to be in a good mood. It seemed that she miscalculated.
"Yes, yes, I'm quite aware of your Grandfather's eccentricities." Father's hands were closed. "At least you're not thinking of applying to Atlas Academy. I don't need another second Winter that's under Ironwood's thumb, but at least there you would be able to create connections."
"Beacon Academy is known for producing the best huntsman." Weiss insisted. "And I can use what I learn to hunt down the filthy faunus that keep attacking our properties!"
Father's white mustache twitched, he then formed a smirk. Weiss didn't like the look of that.
"Very well, I shall allow you to attend on one condition." Father's demeanor changed, but Weiss could tell that his smile didn't reach his eyes.
"Yes?" Weiss lifted her head sharply. Father was going to let her go?! Would she finally be able to escape his grasp?!
"As I'm sure you're aware, the SDC has been experimenting with suits of armor with the Atlesian Military in a collaboration with Merlot Industries." Father stood up from his desk and walked over to an armor stand that held Grandfather's ancient armor. "We just recently had a breakthrough, by using possession Grimm that were recently found in a cave far from Mantle."
Weiss' eyes widened in shock. They were experimenting with Grimm? The very creatures that wanted to exterminate all of humankind?!
"By using it to control a mech suit that's vastly stronger than the suit of armor in the Schnee Family museum, it will change the future of warfare forever once its trials are complete." Father continued.
"Why are you telling me this, Father?" Weiss said, holding her hands together. Even as the heiress, there were many projects that Weiss wasn't privy to knowing.
"I want you to fight it."
What?
"Father?" Weiss started before she was cut off.
"Defeat the mech and I shall allow you to attend Beacon Academy." Father turned back towards her, his smirk still on his face. "That is, unless you wish to give up on this insane idea of yours."
Weiss shook her head. "No! I'll do it, I'll fight." She swallowed the saliva that had built up in her throat.
"Excellent. You shall be its first combat subject. I shall schedule it for tomorrow." Father walked back towards his desk and stared at her. "Just let me know when you want to give up."
Weiss took a deep breath and nodded, staring back without flinching. She hated him, but she loved him at the same time. Weiss hated herself, what kind of daughter didn't love their Father? The hate was starting to outgrow the love she once had for him. "I won't give up."
Father shrugged and spun around in his seat. "You are dismissed."
Weiss bowed respectfully and started walking towards the exit, when Father suddenly spoke again.
"By the way, just so you know, it's called the Arma Gigas."
Winter felt a grimace form on her face as Weiss hissed in pain. She didn't like seeing her sister in pain, but life was cruel. Her training would prepare her for life.
"My apologies." The elder Schnee said, lightly pressing the disinfectant wipe against Weiss' newly formed scar. She had refused treatment for it, claiming that it would be a symbol of future battles to come. Winter pressed her lips into a thin line as she finished wiping away the blood.
"You should have ended the fight the moment you took that hit." Winter whispered, placing a pad on top of Weiss' eye, it would have to remain there until it was healed. "Why did you act so foolishly?"
"And let Father win?" Weiss spat before regaining her composure. Her eyes met Winter's own. "I want to go to Beacon, somewhere where I can choose my own path, and restore our family name, Grandfather's name."
"There's nothing I can do to convince you to attend Atlas Academy?" The instructors there were the best in all the Four Kingdoms, and General Ironwood would no doubt take care to ensure Weiss' comfort, she was the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company after all.
And that would keep Winter close to her, ensuring Weiss' instructions were the best that were available to her.
"Nothing." Weiss whispered as a silence filled the room. Winter stared at her, and sighed, pulling her sister into an awkward hug.
"Then make sure you behave, and remember to eat your meals, no skipping or purging them like you used to." Winter said firmly. "And make sure to always show the utmost caution, not like the risks you took today."
Weiss only smiled in response.
"No promises, Winter."
"Specialist Schnee?"
Winter turned her head slightly, a nervous private standing at attention behind her. What did he want? General Ironwood would have called for her directly through military channels, and Father, though he called rarely, would have gone straight to her scroll. Father had started calling more often after Weiss' disappearance from Schnee Manor.
"At ease, Private. What is it?" Winter turned her attention back to the skies. Today it was her cruiser's rotation to keep an eye out for smugglers.
"W-We have received word from our operatives in Haven."
Oh, the ones that Father convinced General Ironwood to send in return for cheaper androids for a month? But why was he bringing this up to her instead of the General? Winter bit the inside of her cheek and waited for him to continue.
"They have reported that Weiss Schnee has been killed in action."
Time slowed to a halt as Winter's heart stopped. Tightening her fist, she marched off of the bridge, ignoring the looks of her subordinates.
It was only in the safety of her quarters that she allowed herself to scream.

I finished writing this earlier since some of the scenes are flashbacks from Schnee: Hero or Huntress, the same way Interlude Red had them, albeit with newer scenes.
PHO chapter should be next. Fair warning, I've been told that I'm pretty bad at writing them so no promises whether it'll be good.
To help me with writing it, I'll be taking some of YOUR comments so feel free to leave some below! I'll use whatever username they are left under.

We have a new Ward everybody! Yesterday the PRT and Protectorate held a press conference at Eberle Park, revealing the newest addition to the Brockton Bay Wards, Edelweiss who looks like a Battle Princess!
She caused quite a stir by appearing onstage without a mask, beating Clockblocker's controversy, and by announcing that even though she's German, she hates Nazi's as much as everyone else.
Official photos of her can be found here and here.
Fancams taken by those in the front row are here.
The PRT haven't made an official announcement regarding her powers, but based off of that gauntlet and sword I'm guessing she's a part Tinker.
Edelweiss also revealed her real name as Weiss Schnee, which means 'white snow' in German apparently. It's pretty fitting considering how she looks.
I'll update the post with more information as it becomes available.

Weiss felt a grimace form on her face as she scrolled through PHO. Apparently it was a form of social media where heroes could interact with others online.
And it was full of perverts apparently, with more than a few commenting on her body, while others insulted her face in the same breath. People never changed, even if they were from another dimension. And as she expected, the racists came out in droves to comment. How annoying. Her debut had gone well enough, though she did get plenty of questions regarding her hair and scar.
She would find out what the people truly thought of her once the dust settled, she did just return to the Ward base just a half hour earlier after taking what seemed to be hundreds of photos, mostly girls younger than Missy and more than a few full grown men.
The door to the conference room she was in opened, revealing the other tired Wards minus Shadow Stalker who didn't even show up.
"Hello everyone." Weiss formed the smile she used all day. Armsmaster was the last one in, closing the door behind him as everyone took their seat. Missy sat beside her naturally. Armsmaster pressed a few buttons on his gauntlet.
"The room is secure." He said with his usual tone while the others stared at her expectantly.
Time to come clean, just like ripping off a bandaid all at once.

This was supposed to be out tomorrow, but something came up so I decided to push it out early. If the PHO section is liked enough, I'll add them to the story every once in a while.
And to that one reviewer, no, I do not have a hard-on for all things Remnant. Not everything has to be dark for it to be a Worm fic.
Chapter 24: Twenty One
Chapter Text
Missy liked Weiss, sure she was a bit weird or awkward at times, but she was nice. Pretty too, Missy wished she could look like her one day, maybe then Dean would look at her instead of Glory Girl. Weiss' costume looked like a battle ballgown, as if Disney decided to make a princess who fought her own battles instead of waiting for Prince Charming to come and save her. Plus her sword was pretty cool, even if it looked like it was the bastard child of a revolver and another sword, those skinny ones that French people use. Did her powers need something like that?
She took the seat that was the closest to her new friend, and pulled her visor off when Carlos took off his helmet, placing it on the metal table they sat around.
"Thank you for coming here, despite your busy schedules." Weiss said with a smile. Missy would rather be here than at home, she didn't need to hear her parents screaming at each other again as she sat in her room. They were louder than her headphones at full blast. It hurt, but even she knew that a divorce was coming soon, Missy wasn't an idiot.
"Anything and everything mentioned in this room is classified, even more so than usually. Only Director Piggot, myself, and the other members of the Protectorate have knowledge of what we are about to discuss." Armsmaster stood at the other end of the table, most likely locking his Tinker-tech suit in place so his legs wouldn't work, the dirty cheater.
"Aye aye Captain." Dennis gave their boss a mock salute, which earned him a glare from Missy. She would have manipulated the space around them to slap him, but Weiss was watching and there were too many people.
"There's no easy way to say this." Weiss said a bit awkwardly. Oh no, was she going to admit that she used to be a Nazi? Was that why Sophia was the only Ward that was missing?
"I'm not from around here." Weiss continued as Missy released a sigh of relief. That was good. She knew people could change, but that didn't change their past. A good act did not wash out the bad, but neither does a bad act wash out the good.
The world was more grey than black and white.
"That's pretty obvious." Carlos spoke up with a reassuring smile on his face. "My family is originally from Mexico."
Weiss shook her head slowly. "I don't mean it that way." She rubbed her forehead for a second until she finally lowered her hand and sighed.
"I mean, I'm not from this Earth."
Woah-
Silence held a variety of meanings. It could be that someone was thinking, whether they were comfortable or uncomfortable, or if they just didn't have something to say. Weiss was pretty sure that this silence was mostly shock however, maybe with a hint of her fellow Wards being uncomfortable. Everyone, minus Armsmaster, stared at her in confusion, with Dennis' jaw about to hit the table.
"A-Are you telling me that I owe Void twenty dollars?!" Dennis was the first one to speak up. That earned him a glare from Triumph and Armsmaster, but he brushed them with a shrug of his shoulders. Of course he would be the one to bet money on something as important as this. Missy, on the other hand, kept staring at her in awe.
"Anyways." Weiss said, ignoring the redhead, she formed a forced smile on her face. "Any questions?" Everyone raised their hands, even Armsmaster.
How wonderful…
"So you come from a world full of monsters?"
"Yes."
"And you went to school to fight these 'Grimm'?"
"Yes."
"And you got stuck here after some weird battle?"
"Yes."
This conversation had been going on for a little over an hour by now, with most of the questions coming from Armsmaster! That was until Dennis took the lead which made the other Wards confident enough in asking more questions. It was getting rather boring honestly, having to answer the same questions over and over again.
Armsmaster finally walked beside her. "Miss Schnee has agreed to teach a class about her world, including details about the creatures of Grimm among other things. As I said earlier, any information shared here or in said class must be kept confidential." He stared at Dean who gave him a sheepish smile. Armsmaster would have ro reinforce that judging by Victoria's personality.
Weiss had to mute her phone since the plain blonde kept annoying her with calls.
"You can count on us Armsmaster." Triumph nodded his head. "I assume that since Shadow Stalker isn't here, she won't be aware?"
"Correct." Weiss said before Armsmaster could say anything. "I'm trusting all of you with my secret." She gave Missy a smile, one that the younger girl returned. Missy was the main one she trusted, but Dennis and Chris weren't so bad. She didn't spend much time with Triumph. Aegis or Dean, but they didn't seem that bad.
Weiss wouldn't give them all the details anyway, not until she knew that they were all fully trustworthy, if ever.
She wanted to go home.
After entertaining several dozen more questions once they returned to the Ward area, and ensuring that Shadow Stalker was still out, Weiss finally allowed herself to relax, taking off the gauntlet she had based off of Yang's Ember Celica. She had to fight Glenn to make him approve it, but it would be worth it in the end, even with its inferior craftsmanship. Her aura could supplement its strength like she had with that one swordfish.
The bolero was the next piece to come off, leaving her shoulders bare. She stared at herself in the mirror, Weiss hated mirrors, but she always found herself in need of one. She tore her eyes away from her reflection and finished changing into a white mini-dress, similar to the one she wore back at Beacon, but with cheaper material. Sliding a pair of matching white high heeled boots, Weiss headed towards her door.
She could never be a hero, she wasn't worthy of being called such a title, but that didn't mean the huntress in her was gone.
Weiss was a huntress, not a hero, and Brockton Bay would learn that soon enough.

I struggled with this chapter at first, since my mind went blank, but adding in Missy's POV helped me to finish it, so sorry for the delay!

And here is my Weiss decorations at work!
Chapter 25: Twenty Two
Chapter Text
With her debut finally over, Weiss finally had some more time to herself. She should have felt happy, but she felt empty inside, even though it had only been two days. She needed to keep herself busy, to keep her thoughts distracted so they wouldn't weigh her down, that job belonged to her dreams, where red, black and yellow stared at her accusingly. Sometimes it was just their eyes, glaring at Weiss as she bled on the floor of Haven Academy's common room, Cinder spear buried in her abdomen, or she heard them, blaming Weiss for leaving them.
Shaking the thought out of her head, Weiss twirled in the air, using one of her glyphs to catch herself, and launched herself in the opposite direction. Slicing through the air with Myrtenaster, Weiss bounced around the training room with ease. She was rusty, that much as obvious, it's why she made all those mistakes back at Haven. Her summoning had improved, but in doing so, Weiss had neglected her swordsmanship. A deadly mistake, one that she planned on correcting.
She landed on the ground, immediately forming a line of glyphs to skate on. Her hair, which was in a loose normal ponytail, whipped around as she twisted and turned. She stabbed invisible enemies, and dodged attacks that never came. A training fight against one of her summons would be more effective, but that ability was one that Weiss was rather hesitant on showing the Protectorate, at this moment at least. Her summons would make their debut soon, once her class started. Weiss came to a stop and took a few deep breaths.
Someone started clapping enthusiastically. Turning towards the observation window, Weiss gave Missy a polite curtsy and motioned for the younger girl to join her.
"Your powers are awesome!" Missy beamed. Weiss attached Myrtenaster to her hip and smiled back.
"Thank you." The Schnee semblance was one of the few that passed from parent to child, and could be studied extensively. Winter had learned from Grandfather Nick's notes, and he learned from his own father and so forth. Whitley was the only one who decided not to unlock his aura, saying he never planned on fighting.
An idiot move considering all the assasination attempts they had went through since they were children.
"I was wondering if you were doing anything later." Missy played with her short hair as Weiss checked her gauntlet, which was still in one piece thankfully.
"Hmmm, let me think." Weiss had a meeting with Glenn once she was done here, apparently she made a mistake when she mentioned that she could sing, and then she had to visit her Dust chambers to view any progress. She didn't have anything else after that. "After five I should be free. Why? Did you have something in mind?"
Missy looked away, her face reddening like a tomato. "I just want to do friendship stuff, like painting our nails."
"Trying on clothes and talking about cute boys." Weiss added with a wink. She didn't want to presume what Missy's preferences were. "Sure, we could even make it a sleepover if you want."
Weiss really needed these distractions.
"So, you can sing? And I don't mean to sing like those girls who think just because they're pretty they can have a career full of autotune after a night of karaoke." Mr. Glenn grumbled as Weiss sat in the seat in front of him. She was pretty sure it had her butt imprint by now, from all that time she spent in meetings with the PR director. That doll didn't look anything like her, despite what the ugly man said.
"Of course." Weiss scoffed. "I'm a classically trained musician." All thanks to her tutors of course, who punished her for every mistake.
"Then sing something for me." Mr. Glenn pressed his meaty fingers together. He was trying to challenge her pride of course, probably thinking that Weiss would be easy to manipulate. She proved him wrong several times already, but that didn't mean he was going to stop trying it seems.
Straightening her short whie skirt, and forming a smirk, Weiss started to imagine the instruments in her head, starting with the slow melody of a piano.
"They see you as small and helpless, they see you as just a child, surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild." Weiss sang softly. She wrote this song after her fight with the Arma Giga, after her 'Schnee looks became blemished' as Father often reminded her. He wasn't even a Schnee by blood, despite all the hair dye that he used. "Prepare for your greatest moments, prepare for your finest ho-"
"Stop." Glenn raised a hand as he interrupted her, earning a glare. He took off his glasses and rubbed his forehead, wiping off some sweat. Weiss raised an eyebrow in response. "Well, your voice isn't as annoying as Canary's, which is good. Time to get another contract written. I can see it now, the Ward Rock-Star Battle Princess!"
Was that a compliment or an insult?
The meeting with Glenn was longer than it was supposed to be, but in the end Weiss walked away with favorable conditions which was worth it. No Schnee would ever be a sucker when it comes to business. After her quick visit to her Dust growing chamber, which was a repurposed Tinker lab according to Chris, Weiss entered the Ward Headquarters, the alarm blaring. Chris and Dean were already there in costume, their helmets in their hands.
"Going out on patrol?" Weiss asked politely. Her first official patrol would be tomorrow with Carlos, something about getting to know her new team leader.
"Once Clockblocker and Shadow Stalker are back." Chris said nervously. Dean agreed with his usual smile. "I have a feeling that I'm just going to be a third wheel."
"Ah ok." Weiss nodded, walking past them. Victoria would be joining them then, despite Director Piggot being rather displeased the last time the Ward worked with Glory Girl out in the field. Well that's what Missy said, and speaking of the blonde cutie, she appeared from the hallway that led to their rooms, wearing shorts and a long green shirt. She gave Weiss a large smile, one that she returned, albeit much smaller.
Smiles reminded her of Ruby.
A/N
Writing Schnee's Bay is a bit harder than Hero or Huntress, so I take my time with the chapters even if they are shorter. I hope my prose remains consistent.
And before I forget, the events of Ice Queendom are canon in Schnee's Bay, it was mentioned in a previous chapter.
Chapter 26: Twenty Three
Chapter Text
"Do you miss your world?" Missy asked as she sat on Weiss' bed, her body aimed towards the door while Weiss brushed her hair from behind. She paused mid-brush, her lungs getting a sharp intake of air. Weiss should have expected a question like this, to prepare herself.
"I do." Weiss said softly, resuming her duty as she brushed Missy's short blonde hair. "I miss it very much." Moreso the people than Remnant itself. She missed Yang, Blake, Winter, Klein, and Ruby everyday. Everything reminded her of them.
"What was it like?" Missy continued. This felt like a conversation she had before, but it was to be expected since Weiss revealed her true origins. She was sure the other Wards would ask similar questions.
"It was beautiful, but dangerous." Weiss answered. The Grimm rampaged outside of the capitals of the Four Kingdoms, and bandits roamed the countryside. Without huntsmen, huntresses and Dust there was no doubt that humanity and the faunus would be extinct by now.
"Earth is just dangerous." Missy pouted. As much as Weiss didn't want to be rude, the younger girl was correct. Everything here seemed so plain and ordinary when compared to Remnant, aside from those Endbringers.
"True, but Remnant doesn't have you, the amazing Vista." Weiss smiled as she patted the blonde's head softly. And Earth didn't have the others.
"It's unfair, I've been a Ward longer than Carlos." Missy whined as Weiss slid a headband into the smaller girl's hair, leaving only two locks free to frame her face.
"Not everyone is suited to be a team leader." Weiss murmured. She had learned that the hard way when she was passed over as the leader for Team RWBY. Ruby was the youngest student at Beacon, yet she was a better leader than anyone else. "You still have time to grow, and I'm sure you'll be the best Ward team leader yet." Anyone could be a team leader, just look at Cardin, but being a great leader was a completely different question.
Missy turned around with a small smile on her face. "You really think so."
Weiss poked her nose in return. "I know so, now let's watch a movie."
What was life without small moments such as these?
After a few hours of talking and watching bad action movies by that Spruce Willis knock-off, it was time to go to sleep. Tomorrow Weiss would finally go on her first patrol in this world, and who knew what would happen? Missy pulled her blanket up to her chest, the inflatable bed she was laying on looking rather comfortable.
"Good night Weissy." Missy said as Weiss flicked the lightswitch.
"Good night Missy." Weiss slid under her blankets and closed her eyes.
Who would've thought that the blonde girl had a crush on boring-looking Dean?
You're such a disappointed Weiss.
Weiss shot up with a gasp, a light layer of sweat covering her pale skin. Taking deep breaths, she flinched when she felt someone touch her shoulder.
"Weiss? Is everything ok?" A very familiar voice said. Turning her head slightly, beautiful silver eyes met Weiss' blue.
"Ruby!" Weiss threw her arms around the scythe wielder, tears already falling down her cheek. The dark haired girl hugged back confused. Was it all just a dream? A nightmare?
"Uh, who are you and what have you done to Weiss?" A teasing voice said. Pulling away from Ruby, Weiss' eyes widened.
Amber, lilac, and silver eyes all stared at her. She was back! Weiss was back home! She was-
Wait, she knew this place. She spent most of a year here, studying and training to become a huntress. Standing up slowly with shaky legs, all of the air in Weiss' lungs disappeared.
Why was she at Beacon?
Weiss felt her body go numb. She was back in her old room at Beacon? What was going on here? Her eyes darted around the room, taking in the sight of the haphazard bunk beds they had built their first week here.
"Is everything ok, Weisscream?" Yang said with a smirk. Weiss' eyes frantically met hers. Dressed in an orange tank top with shorts, Yang still had her right arm. "Cat got your tongue?"
"I take offense to that." Blake added dryly, her amber eyes alternating between the book in her hands and Weiss' sweat covered form.
"Yaaang! Leave Weiss alone. Can't you see that she had a bad dream." Ruby pouted as she eagerly wrapped her arms around Weiss. "She's finally showing us love!" Ruby buried her head in the crook of Weiss' neck, and where she normally pushed off the younger girl, this time Weiss relished the touch, with her own arms wrapped around her partner numbly.
"W-What happened? Yang! Your arm! Vytal festival, Haven-" Weiss started blurting out, none of the words forming a coherent statement.
"Did you hit your head or something? Team JNPR won the Vytal festival, remember?" Yang raised an eyebrow. "Jaune won't stop talking about how Team JNPR is the best first year team. Pyrrha just got luck in that last round with that last strike."
"Pyrrha's alive?" Weiss croaked as Ruby snuggled closer. The three other girls gave Weiss confused looks.
"Of course she is. She's not called the 'Invincible Girl' for nothing you know." Blake said, placing the book in her lap. That wasn't possible! Pyrrha died during the Battle of Beacon, her body turned into nothing more than ashes. Weiss had even seen the grand funeral the Nikos family held in her honor.
"Weiss, are you ok?" Blake's eyes seemed worried now. Why was everyone asking her that? Weiss was perfectly fine, extremely confused, but fine!
Ruby placed a hand on Weiss' forehead, her silver eyes widening slightly. "Oh no she's burning up! Should we take her to the infirmary?"
"I'm fine, you dolt!" Weiss blurted out. There was something wrong here, but it felt so right. Prying herself from Ruby's embrace, Weiss already missed the younger girl's touch.
"And she's back. There's our Ice Queen!" Yang winked. Weiss felt her heart tighten slowly as she felt her legs start to shake. She wanted to hold each of the three girls close and never let them go, but there was something off about this place.
Yang had her arm, Beacon was still standing, Team JNPR won the Vytal festival, and Pyrrha was still alive-
Team JNPR's room was literally across the hallway. Jumping up, Weiss stomped towards the door, when she felt Ruby hug her from behind.
"Don't leave us, Weiss!" She felt a damp spot on her back, her own eyes still tearing up. Weiss paused as her hands touched the cool metal of the doorknob. "Stay here, with us!"
You're nothing more than a disappointment.
Staring at the doorknob, Weiss hardened her heart. T-They didn't need her. Opening the door, Weiss stepped out into the hallway, leaving a distraught Ruby behind. The sound of her crying broke Weiss' heart, but it needed to be done. None of this was real, and Team RWBY could survive without their W. They would be stronger without her.
"Weiss, come back!" Ruby said, staring at Weiss from the door. Feeling her resolve starting to crack, Weiss knocked on Team JNPR's door. There was no answer, but the door creaked open with a small groan.
"Pyrrha? Jaune?" Weiss took a hesitant step forward, pushing the rest of the door open. The lights were off, and Weiss didn't have Blake's superior vision to see in the dark. "Ren? Nora?" She flicked the lightswitch, and she screamed.
Laying right in the middle of Team JNPR's dorm room was Pyrrha, with a large spear protruding from in between her breast. Her green eyes, once full of life, seemed dull. The pool of blood that she laid in only seemed to grow larger, causing Weiss to take a few steps back, almost stumbling in the process.
Taking several unsteady breaths, Weiss felt something pierce her skin from behind. Falling to her knees, her eyes turned to the golden spear that struck Weiss in her side, her aura doing nothing to stop the pain or bleeding. She felt someone roughly grab her chin, forcing her head to the side.
Light blue eyes met Weiss', with the Spring Maiden's face giving her a wicked smile. Weiss couldn't feel her body anymore as the pain in her side only grew.
"You're nothing without your name."
With that, Weiss screamed.

This chapter was mostly taken from 2-4 and 2-5 from Schnee: Hero or Huntress since I just so happened to get sick. I wanted to get a chapter out before the week ended, but I'll be back by next Monday hopefully.
Chapter 27: Twenty Four
Chapter Text
Weiss shot up, her skin glistening from sweat as she breathed heavily. Pushing her white bangs out of the way, she scanned the room, her left hand ready to summon the blade of the Arma Gigas. Her other hand gently touched the area where she had been stabbed. She froze when she felt someone wrap their arms around her.
"Weiss, are you ok?" Missy asked softly, her voice more like a murmur. T-The dream, it felt so real. Weiss remained silent as she returned the younger girl's embrace, a sob escaping her throat before she even realized it.
She missed them all so much. She missed how Blake would get all annoyed whenever Yang would mix some of Weiss' coffee in her tea, she missed Yang's lame attempts at comedy, but most of all, she missed Ruby.
The stupid clutz who never knew when to quit, who always held onto Weiss' arm whenever they watched a scary movie. Weiss missed all of that. She struggled to control her breathing in between sobs.
Eventually, she ran out of tears to cry. Taking a deep breath, Weiss licked her salty lips. Whenever she was feeling emotions as strong as this, she poured out her emotions into song. She did that the night Winter left for the military, and whenever Father and Mother would start screaming at each other.
Hopefully Missy wouldn't think any less of her, but she really needed this. Weiss couldn't breathe.
"The truth in front of my eyes, along with all these desperate lies, fade away like they're old memories." Weiss sang into Missy's shoulder, her voice hoarse. "The warmth of someone's love, I have no feelings of, all those things I don't know anymore."
Missy said nothing, her hands patting Weiss' back.
"You told me when you left me, that I'd be fine all on my own. From your lips you spoke one last goodbye." Weiss pulled Missy closer. She didn't even get to say goodbye before she ended up in this world, the same way she couldn't say goodbye when Father came to take her home after Beacon fell. "That look of sympathy, it's nothing new to me, you would think by now that it wouldn't faze me."
Atlas high society stared at her as if she was insane for rubbing elbows with the 'poor people of Vale'.
"Merciless memories, they're ringing on so unforgivingly, they show no intent of letting me go free." Was Missy looking at her weirdly? Was she judging her? "And if I close my eyes, and try to drown them out they only grow. They're closing in, and far away you laugh."
Weiss poured her emotions out, taking deep breaths. "Will the rain falling down ever find an ending? All this time I've been waiting in the freezing cold."
She felt Missy rubbing the back of her head gently.
"Will the rain ever leave me alone, I wonder why it chose to follow me when there's nowhere I can go." Weiss' voice turned silent after that. She lost track of how long she hugged Missy, but eventually, the former heiress pulled away.
"Sorry about that." Weiss rubbed her eyelids. "I had a bad dream." Even in the dark, she refused to meet Missy's eyes. This was embarrassing.
"Don't worry, that happened to me a few times, without singing." Missy said, the last bit teasingly in an attempt to cheer her up. "Oh, and Weiss?"
"Yes?"
"Your singing is pretty."
"Thank you."
Ruby always said the same thing…
"Are you ready?" Aegis asked, his voice having just the slightest hints of an accent. He sat across from Weiss in the PRT van, with a masked officer keeping an eye on them. She stared at him blankly, her aura and makeup hiding the bags that were under her eyes.
"Of course." Weiss said dryly. Her combat skirt was quite puffy, which meant it took up some space whenever she was sitting down. She gave Myrtenaster and her gauntlet a final check. Myrtenaster wouldn't have any Dust today, which would limit her capabilities.
"We're just going to walk around the Boardwalk, and call in any disturbances we see." Aegis continued. "Being seen is important, it'll help assure everyone that we're here to protect them."
"I know." Simmons, the PRT liaison, made sure to emphasize that during the briefing, much to Weiss' displeasure. Even first years at Beacon were sent on combat missions, with supervision from an experienced huntsmen or huntress of course. Here, they were treated like little kids. Technically, all of the Wards were children, so it made sense in a weird way, but even younger students at combat academies sparred against each other.
"We'll have a good time." Aegis looked like he wanted to say more, but their van soon came to a stop.
"We'll be back in three hours to pick you two up." The PRT officer said lazily, Tucker if Weiss remembered his voice correctly. "Another van will hang around in case the both of you need help."
"Got it." Weiss stood up once the back doors opened, and used a glyph as a step-stool instead of jumping off like Carlos. She was short, not stupid, even if her aura allowed her to survive a fall from a tall building.
The Boardwalk looked the same as it did when Weiss first came here to buy clothes with the Dallon sisters, with the sidewalks better maintained and cleaner than the other areas of Brockton Bay that Weiss had observed.
Civilians spotted the duo as soon as the van drove away, with several tourist aimed their cameras towards them. Weiss formed her heiress smile and waved.
"My wrist is going to be hurting by the end of the day, won't it." Weiss gritted through her teeth, her smile stilll plasted on her face. It was an exaggeration, her aura would ensure that her body and joints would always be at their peak.
"You're popular with anyone who isn't a Nazi on PHO." Aegis said teasingly. "Or racist who hate all Germans because of them."
"How wonderful." Weiss sighed internally.
At least she brought several pens in case this happened.

Chapter 28: Twenty Five
Chapter Text
"To whom shall I address this to?" Weiss' cheeks were starting to hurt from all the fake smiles she gave, it was embarrassing. She should be used to this by now, years of etiquette lessons were ingrained into her mind, but she was also out of practice. She didn't have to put up the facade as often in Vale, and Weiss wasn't used to people staring at her like some hero. People loved to curse the Schnee name under their breaths after all, and to her face every once in a while.
"Greg Veder." The blond boy with blue eyes said, sounding like he was out of breath. He stared at her in awe, pausing on areas where his gaze lingered too long. He looked like an uglier, shorter version of Jaune, who was also very plain by Remnant's standards. "How sharp is your sword?"
"I wouldn't touch it if you want to keep all your fingers." Weiss said through her teeth. "To Greg, keep being awesome, from Edelweiss." The crowd was slowly pressing in on her, barely allowing Weiss to take just a few steps. Aegis' crowd was much smaller, and quicker too since only a handful of teens stopped to take selfies with him, the lucky bastard.
"Woah." His eyes widened as Weiss handed him his sticky notebook back. "Are you an alien- '' Someone pushed Greg out of the way, basically throwing their own sheet of paper in her face, which was very rude. Holding back a glare, Weiss sighed internally. She was already on her second pen sadly, and Weiss didn't know how these people handled rejection.
"Name?" Weiss said for the hundredth time. She briefly glanced towards Aegis, through the cracks in the crowd, his eyes smiling, laughing at her. She huffed internally, and wrote her new signature with practiced ease.
He was lucky Weiss was so merciful.
Public relations was important, both here and back on Remnant. Father knew that, especially with all the controversies that surrounded their family.
The Schnee Dust Company was taking advantage of its workers? Nonsense, all faunus workers were paid fair wages and were living in company provided apartments.
Several miners were killed in an accident? It must've been their fault, the Dust mines had the best equipment that money could buy.
The White Fang tried bombing the family car? Father had to fire her Nanny, she could be a symphatizer in league with the terrorists.
PR allowed people to do whatever they wanted, and to make them look better than whoever their opponent was to the public. In a way, Weiss understood why the PRT deployed them to the Boardwalk. It was full of tourists, and it was close to the PRT Headquarters, so response times in case of emergencies would be quick, hopefully.
"I swear my hand is going to cramp up any second now." Weiss groaned, having finally escaped from the crowd. She was exaggerating of course, her aura would be able to handle anything thrown at her.
"It's like that for everyone on their first patrol, especially since all the new Wards start at the Boardwalk." Aegis said, waving at a random group of tourists. "Probably a little worse for you since you're unmasked, but they'll get used to you eventually, just like New Wave."
"I see." Weiss said sardonically. Technically she did ask for this since she said no mask, but Weiss never imagined it would be that bad. There were plenty of places on Remnant where people wouldn't recognize a Schnee. White hair and blue eyes, while uncommon, weren't unheard of. Though Weiss did have to admit, she knew she was attractive. With her looks, family name, and wealth, she was sure the world was shocked when she announced that she would head to Beacon to become a huntress. "Hopefully it'll die down soon."
"We'll see." Aegis beamed under his helmet. He was nice Weiss guessed, just plain and average like everyone else on this rock. Weiss huffed when she heard the squeals of random people, her combat skirt drawing plenty of attention.
This was getting old really fast.
After walking the length of the Boardwalk, and stopping every once in a while to take photos and sign autographs for annoying people, Weiss finally had a moment of rest, a cup of iced black coffee in hand.
"That's right, stare at it." Weiss smirked as she caught the straw with her lips. Aegis stared at her blankly, the way his helmet was shaped not allowing him to enjoy any snacks or drinks. She needed to work out the kind of leader he would be.
"It's almost time for our shift to end, so I'll go ahead and call the van." Aegis sighed, taking a few steps away from her, grabbing his communicator.
Weiss said nothing in return, allowing the cool and bitter coffee to slide down her throat. She needed to keep her energy up, anyone with aura spent most of their money on large portions of food. Placing a hand on her hip as the other held her cup, Weiss' eyes narrowed at the trio of bald men approaching her.
Each of them had some stylized eagle, and the symbol that Weiss had learned was closely associated with Nazis, which honestly looked like an unfinished box at an angle.
"Traitor!" The largest one in front of the small group said in Atlesian, uh German, his hands in his pocket. How annoying, and rude. Several passerbyers immediately got out of their way, but they loitered, taking their phones out-
Wait, were they recording? Where did everybody go?
The big one slapped the drink out of her hands, spilling the black gold all over the clean concrete.
"I was drinking that." Weiss said bluntly. Out of the corner of her eyes she spotted several men in black approaching them, the Enforcers if she remembered right. "And you need to work on your accent. It's 'I'm not a stupid racist', not traitor."
A half dozen Enforcers had arrived by now, surrounding the three skinheads.
"I suggest you leave, before you ruin everyone's day." Weiss tilted her head with a knowing smirk. "But if you three want to spend the night in a cell I'd gladly schedule it for you."
The three stared at her for a few seconds, until their leader spat on the floor and stalked away, the Enforcers following them still.
"What happened here?" Aegis appeared next to Weiss out of nowhere, earning him a sharp glare.
"You have the worst timing I've ever seen."

I like to subvert expectations.
Chapter 29: Twenty Six
Chapter Text
"I'm not from this Earth."
It took five words for Dennis to do a spit take, spraying the water he was drinking all over the conference table. That was the last thing he was expecting to come out of the German's mouth. Was it a bit racist that was expecting her to say that she used to be a bigot but had changed? Perhaps, but it was far more realistic than that one sentence. Missy and the others stared at him awkwardly. Why weren't they as surprised as he was?!
"I don't know how, but I somehow ended up here." Weiss continued, ignoring Dennis' outburst. The others nodded along as Dennis stared at all of them with wide eyes. Why were they taking this so well?! Knowing about other words like Aleph was one thing, but for someone to make it over was unheard of! And judging by how quiet the Big Beard was, Weiss wasn't lying.
"The world I come from isn't like your Earth." Weiss said, her eyes appearing like they were drifting off. "Humanity was being pushed to the brink of extinction by monsters called Grimm, with only huntsmen and huntresses like myself being the last line of defense."
That sounded like the plot of some Aleph anime, and Dennis didn't understand half of what Weiss said. Huntsmen? Huntresses?
Weiss bowed at the waist politely. "I apologize for deceiving you, but I didn't know how you all would react." She sounded more robotic than Beardmaster. Dennis glanced toward his fellow Wards, who all sat silently. Only Rory and Carlos didn't look confused or shocked.
""A-Are you telling me I owe Void twenty dollars!?" Dennis exclaimed. He had been arguing with the idiot on one of his burner accounts. He got in trouble the last time he debated with someone with his Clockblocker one. Ignoring the glare from Rory and Beardo with a shrug, Dennis turned his attention back to the alien. Everyone was too calm for his taste.
"Any questions?" Weiss asked, ignoring him once again. Oh the pain, oh the horror, and here he thought they were friends.
She was going to regret asking that.
"Hey Chris." Dennis said softly, focusing on the match on the television, killing time until it was his shift to go on patrol, one of the many banes of being on Winter Break.
"Yeah Dennis?" Chris started smashing the buttons on his controller.
"I think we just won the award for weirdest Ward team." Dennis sighed after his character was headshotted. Too bad they couldn't tell anyone. He would love to rub that in Fletchette's face.
"What about the teams with Case-53s?" Chris leaned back, his shoulders relaxing as the game went to the main menu.
"Dude, we literally have an alien on our team who looks like an anime character come to life."
"Touche." They restarted their game. Dennis chose a different loadout of course, he wasn't going to fall for Chris' tricks again. "Have you heard any singing at night?"
Dennis' character hid behind a rock. "Singing?"
"Yeah, like a whisper singing in the middle of the night." Chris shivered in his seat. "I think HQ is haunted or something."
Yeah, Chris was an idiot.
"Fascinating." Colin spoke without thinking, his hands swiping slowly on his tinkertech tablet. Even with her busy schedule preparing for her Ward debut, Weiss had managed to create a presentation for her class about Remnant. It wasn't finished yet according to the new Ward, but Colin had managed to convince her to allow him to scan it beforehand.
"I think you would fit into the Kingdom of Atlas well." Dragon said, following along through the cameras in his helmet. "They're the most technologically advanced of the Four Kingdoms."
"I'd like to learn more about this Dust, once Miss Schnee has grown more comfortable with sharing." Even if he couldn't make use of it without aura, studying the properties around the crystals and powders could change the way the world worked. It could power cities, and Colin's experiments. "And their weapons, they seem like tinkertech, but they're easier to produce and maintainable by anyone with training."
None of this could be known by the general public, if people found out that someone from another world ended up on Earth, a world full of monsters, Colin was sure there would be rioting and panic worldwide. Then there were the gangs, if they somehow managed to gain aura, it would only escalate the fighting. The PRT had too many holes, even he knew that, and someone would eventually break and share the power, if they figured out how to do so.
"Miss Schnee will either bring about a new age, or be the end of the world as we know it." Colin said, his mind greedily taking in the information of a strange world. Dust, mechashift weapons, Grimm, the Kingdoms, all of it. There was so much to learn, and it made his brain start to churn.
How could he fit a gun into his halberd? Hm, Colin's attention slowly drifted towards his workbench. It wouldn't be exactly the same as Remant's weapons, but he could attempt to replicate their work.
"Dragon, I know what we're going to do today."
"So how was your first patrol?" Aegis asked. They were finally back at Ward HQ, after a rather bumpy ride in the PRT van.
"It was ok." Weiss shrugged. She would have prefered not having people hounding her every few steps, but it was a quiet day aside from that. Quiet was good, it meant no one was causing trouble, but she knew that wouldn't last long.
Humanity was a danger to itself as much as the Grimm and the Endbringers were. They even found a way to discriminate despite the lack of faunus to target.
"We also speak at schools around the city every once in a while." Carlos pulled his helmet off once they made it past the alarm and the protected doors. "It's pretty fun."
"It's soooo boring you mean." Dennis shouted from the couch. Weiss was pretty sure that his ass was imprinted on the cushion from the amount of times she's walked in here to see him gaming with Chris. "I'm never going back to Winslow, I almost stepped on a used needle when I went to use the restroom."
"It sounds…wonderful." Weiss forced a smile.
She was lucky she was such a good liar.

Chapter 30: Twenty Seven
Chapter Text
Racist's were annoying in any world, Weiss would certainly know that, and the rest of her team always made sure to remind her of her previous attitude. She didn't have a positive opinion of the faunus for the majority of her still relatively short life. It wasn't her fault per say, after all she had survived numerous assasination attempts, and had seen trusted family friends and bodyguards gunned down by White Fang terrorists.
There was a reason Weiss had distrusted them, she was a Schnee after all, and getting rid of her habits had taken a while, but she no longer treated the faunus like potential assassins, or criminals. Unless they were Sun Wukong who broke various minor laws as easily as he breathed, or the White Fang which was a given.
It's because of her experience that Weiss felt she could try to empathize with the Empire to see if they could change, until she was finally on the receiving end of such a person. It was more enlightening than Glenn's explanation of Nazism, first hand experiences always were.
"What the-" Weiss furrowed her eyebrows together, her eyes attached to her new phone's screen. Someone had recorded her conversation with the three idiots who had slapped her coffee out of her hands and posted it on PHO.
"-If you three want to spend the rest of the night in a cell I can gladly arrange that for you." The recording taken just a few feet away said. Whoever had recorded it had gotten Weiss' good side, which was every angle of course. The people here looked plain.
The rest of the comments was a dumpster fire, with numerous deleted comments and banned accounts from multiple Nazi sympathizers most likely. The rest were discussing how the 'Germanaboos' couldn't even come up with a response. There were always idiots and bigots everywhere it seemed.
At least this world and Remnant had something in common, aside from the languages and some foods, even if their cheeses tasted a bit off.
"Whatcha looking at there?" Victoria plopped onto the seat beside Weiss in the Wards living room, their couch to be precise. As much as Weiss enjoyed her privacy, she also didn't want to be alone in her room with her thoughts, which usually didn't end well.
"Someone recorded an incident from my debut patrol yesterday." Weiss answered, putting her phone away and sliding it into one of her dress' pockets. It was another red one, that fell just below her knees and had sleeves which made it more modest, especially when compared to the other red mini-dress she bought. The dress made Weiss feel like Ruby was with her, in some weird way.
"Oh cool, I saw that already." Victoria crossed her legs and turned on the television. She must've been waiting for Dean from wherever the bean boy was. The others were out, either on patrol or dealing with their personal lives, which sadly included Missy. Shadow Stalker was on the console, and Weiss didn't feel like dealing with the truant."They probably wanted a rise out of you since, well, you know." Victoria waved her hands around her face.
That much was a given, they would have succeeded if Weiss had anger issues, like Yang with her hair, but even a normal person wouldn't have escalated to violence over something as harmless as slapping one's coffee out of their hands, maybe.
"I don't doubt that." Weiss said dryly. It was a bit awkward, especially since she didn't really know Victoria, but she did Weiss a big favor in helping her go shopping. Being friendly with her would help out in the long run. "How's your sister?"
Amy Dallon didn't really seem to like her, with all the glares and staring when she thought Weiss wouldn't notice. Still, at least it was a simple conversation starter so it wouldn't be silent, leaving Weiss alone mentally.
"Oh! She's doing great! I just dropped her off at the hospital." Victoria grinned, leaning back against the couch as she flipped through the channels.
"And now you're here to see Dean." Weiss finished Victoria's train of thought for her.
"Actually, I'm here for you." That earned the blonde a confused look, and an eyebrow raise. Why would she be here for Weiss? Sure they had a passable time shopping for clothes, but it wasn't anything groundbreaking, like when Ruby blew up a month's worth of Dust when they first met.
"I see." Weiss turned her attention to the television where a short man in red with a mustache jumped on ugly turtles. "And why is that?"
"It's not everyday you meet a cape who's unmasked!" Victoria threw an arm around Weiss' shoulder, much to her annoyance. She turned her head to give the blonde a blank stare. "It can be hard making friends, since you'll never really know someone's true intentions at first. Believe me, I know."
That…hit too close to Weiss' heart.
"You're smarter than you look." Weiss smirked, turning back to the cartoon.
"Thank you!" Victoria beamed until her face dropped. "Wait, what does that mean?!"
"Don't worry about it."
Missy always looked forward to leaving school at the end of the day, and leaving home to avoid the arguing by going to Ward HQ. Before it was to do her duties as a Ward, and hoped to impress Armsmaster and Director Piggot enough to make her the team leader despite her age. And to make sure Dennis and Chris behaved themselves unless they wanted to face the fury of their couch pillows.
Now she enjoyed hanging out with Weiss. She was so cool and pretty in an unnatural way, kinda like those elves in Chris' fantasy movies. It felt good, having a girl on the team who she could talk to about…things. Missy finally had her person! Dennis and Chris had each other, Rory was too old and a bit of an ass, Carlos always tried keeping everything professional, and Stalker was Stalker.
And Dean, he had Victoria's claws dug into him with their constant breaking up and getting back together again.
Unable to contain the smile that grew on her face, Missy ignored the alarms as she walked into Ward HQ.
"Hey Weiss!" Missy went straight to the living room, where laughter seemed to be coming from?
"-my couldn't believe that I managed to stuff that burger in my mouth. I burned off the calories later after Rune decided to attack a synagogue, but I still felt it the next day when I had to use the-"
Victoria and Weiss were sitting on the couch, with a small smile on the white haired girl's face as Collateral Damage Barbie told some story. Missy froze, when she felt Weiss' eyes meet her own.
"Hi Missy. How was school?" Weiss said, interrupting the storytelling.
"Sup." Victoria turned around as well, showing off her perfect white teeth.
"It was fine." Missy forced a smile on her face.
Why did the good parts of her life never last long?

It's been a long time! I hope the update didn't disappoint. I've been enjoying RWBY Volume 9, which helped me start writing again.
Who would you like to see Weiss interact with in story?

Chapter 31: Twenty Eight
Chapter Text
"It was fine." Missy said, forcing a large smile on her face, one that Weiss could easily see through. It was a gift, being able to see past ones' defenses, their fake smiles and laughter. The poor girl must've had a rough day at school.
"That's good." Weiss beamed, turning her head ever so slightly towards her friend. If Missy wanted to talk about it, Weiss would be there to listen, but she wouldn't poke at it if she didn't want to. She learned that from Blake. "Do you want to join us? Vicky here-" Victoria Dallon was annoyingly persistent when it came to nicknames, and had finally worn down the former heiress. "-Is telling me about the time she took on the Fugly Bob challenge."
"N-No thanks!" Missy squirmed in place, and scratched the back of her head. "I have a lot of homework that I need to catch up on and stuff."
"Don't study so hard Little V." Victoria gave the shorter blonde a wink while Weiss nodded slowly. "College is a scam."
"Aren't you taking college classes?" Missy's voice trailed off, looking a bit uncomfortable. She must've been really tired. Once Victoria was gone and annoying Dean she would go and make a snack for her. Something easy that wouldn't burn like those pop tarts Dennis likes so much.
"That's how I know." Victoria bursted out laughing and held her hand out for Weiss to slap. She only received an unamused stare in return.
"Just ignore her Missy." Weiss sighed, ignoring the offered high five. "But do take it easy, too much studying can be bad for you, and make sure to eat something." Winter forcing her to eat in the middle of her long study sessions had ingrained the lesson in Weiss' mind.
"Thanks." Missy said, avoiding meeting Weiss' eyes this time. "I'll go now, you two have fun."
Hmm, hot chocolate should be able to do the trick, it worked for Weiss once before with-
"So anyways, Mom banned me from Fugly's for a month, something about clogging the pipes." Victoria went back to her story. "But Dean was also there and Ames helped me pin the blame on him instead."
Weiss wrinkled her nose and shook her head slowly. "You're disgusting." She really did act like Yang, albeit with a tad more class.
"Just on Tuesdays." Victoria's eyes trailed to Weiss' hands. "Ooo! Your nails are so pretty!"
Yang would have loved her.
Missy spent at least an hour locked in her room, brooding like Owlman from Dennis' comics from Aleph. She didn't hate Victoria, truly she didn't, but she did get on Missy's nerves sometimes. She actually liked the older blonde, Victoria was everything Missy strived to be. She was just…perfect. Well, aside from causing hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth in damages, Big V was perfect. She was smart, strong, and beautiful, everything that Missy wasn't. Blinking her eyes, the young Ward stared at the blank worksheets that were spread out on her bed.
She wasn't lying when she said had homework though, her school always made sure to give her makeup packets of work when Ward duties interrupted her classes. It sucked since that meant her turn at the console would be spent on homework in between calls. Groaning softly and shoving her face against her blankets, Missy's musings was interrupted by a knock at her door.
Her head shot up, rolling onto her back. "Who is it?"
"Jabba the Hutt." Weiss' muffled voice answered dryly which made Missy smile a bit. Dennis decided to restart movie night, and proceeded to start with all the Star Wars movies like the geek he was. "Can I come in?"
"Sure." Missy said just loud enough to be heard. The door handle didn't move, but she did manage to hear some kind of struggle in the hallway.
"Can you uh, open the door please? My hands are kinda full." Weiss' sigh was audible, even with the door blocking sounds.
Jumping up from her bed, Missy would have made it to her door faster if her legs were just a few inches longer, but she still closed the gap rather quickly. She opened the door, revealing Weiss holding two cups with steam still coming from whatever liquids they held.
"What's up?" Missy didn't see Victoria with her, or hear the loud blonde. Did she leave already? She took a step to the side to let the white haired girl in.
"Just made you something even I can't burn." Weiss hummed, holding out one of the hot mugs in Missy's direction. "And Carlos banned me from cooking without supervision."
Missy carefully grabbed the steaming hot mug and took a deep breath. Mmm, it smelled like chocolate. She took a small sip.
"Careful, it's pretty hot." Weiss held her own mug without any issue, most likely cheating by using her aura to prevent any burns. Missy wouldn't know all the details until Weiss' classes on Earth-R, which was going to be a few days from now.
"Thanks." Missy gently blew air into her cup as Weiss made her way to her bed, grabbing one of her homework sheets.
"Don't mention it." Weiss smiled as she scanned the math paper. Taking a small sip from her mug, she finally looked up. "At least math is the same everywhere. If you ever need help I'm here for you."
"Why did you say that last part like that?" Missy sat on her bed. What was the older girl up to?
Weiss placed the paper to the side, sitting next to Missy. "I speak four languages, sometimes I have to translate the sentence in my head before talking about it." That sounded like an excuse knowing how smart Weiss actually was.
She poked Missy's cheek, earning the newest member of the Wards a soft glare. "And because I'm here for you. You're my friend after all, right?"
Missy's insides felt like they were warming up, it was probably the hot chocolate. She felt so stupid for being jealous. Weiss had the right to have other friends, she was all alone in a world that wasn't hers. "Y-Yeah."
"Good." Weiss stood up, and gave Missy a nervous glance. "The hot chocolate wasn't too sweet right?"
Missy shook her head quickly. "No, no!" She looked down at the mug she held with two hands.
"It's perfect."

Chapter 32: Twenty Nine
Chapter Text
Colin was early, as he usually preferred to be regarding meetings. He liked to leave on time as well, so he could return to his lab to work on whatever breakthrough he found during the more tedious parts of said meeting. Today wasn't going to be one of those days. It wasn't everyday that one got to learn more in depth details about another world, with their instructor being from said place. The conference room was built like an auditorium, with all the seats facing a wall with a small podium. Colin sat in the front row to get the best view of any visual aids.
"Oh, you're here already." Edelweiss walked through the door, it closed as soon as she stepped into the conference room. Today's meeting would be more like a class, with Edelweiss going into more details about her world than the brief overview she had given Miss Militia and himself.
"Of course." Armsmaster said simply. If he could learn how to replicate the effects of Dust, without the use of aura, it would lead to a breakthrough in his weaponry, and power sources. He hadn't had a chance to discuss such technicalities with the new Ward, they both had very busy schedules as of late. "I'm very interested in learning more about your world, Dust, aura, and your machinery." Schnee did claim to have designed and helped in the construction of Myrtenaster, her rapier.
"I'm sure you are." Edelweiss said dryly. From their short and often brief interactions since their first couple meetings, Colin deduced that her sarcasm was a defense mechanism that she used. Overall she was polite, courteous even, but she would always slip up here and there with her tone. He didn't get his psychology degree just to hang it on the wall in his lab. Colin would let it slide for now, Weiss was dealing with being stranded in another world after all.
"I am." Before he could continue speaking, the others started to trickle in. First came the Wards, minus Shadow Stalker who was encouraged to take some personal time off.
"Wassup!" Clockblocker raised his fist in the air, earning himself a glare from everyone in the room. "See, this is why I wanted to show up fashionably late."
They took their seats in the row behind Colin, with Clockblocker just so happening to choose the one directly behind him. Hopefully the young Ward wouldn't be too distracting today, Colin didn't want to miss any information, even though he would be recording the meeting.
More specifically, Dragon would be recording since Colin was forbidden by Director Piggot. The contents of the meeting would be classified, with only a handful people outside of the in-person meetings allowed access. Edelweiss took her position at the podium, and pulled out the device she called a scroll.
Following the Wards were Colin's teammates on the Protectorate, with Miss Militia leading them. Colin gave them a curt nod to not appear rude. While he wasn't particularly close with his coworkers outside of his duties, having a healthy working relationship always went a long way when it came to leading an effective team.
Armsmaster was nothing but efficient. The two PRT field commanders that Director Piggot had chosen along with the Deputy Director Renick were the next to arrive, taking their seats in the aisle beside Colin without another word.
"I believe this is everyone." Edelweiss said, looking up from her scroll. Each person in this room was personally chosen by either the Director, or Edelweiss. Dragon's avatar appeared in the corner of Collin's screen just as the young Ward spoke, just on time.
Dragon gave him a smile.
"Thank you all for coming." Edelweiss smiled. A secondary metal door closed over the exits. All other communication devices had been confiscated before they were allowed to enter. "I'm Edelweiss, but I'm sure everyone here knows that."
"Yup." Clockblocker snorted out loud, earning him a slap on the shoulder from Vista. Colin didn't need to turn around to know she had been the one to do it.
"Anyways." Edelweiss turned her attention back to her scroll. "We'll start off with a brief history of the Four Kingdoms of Remnant, Vale, Mistral, Vacuo and Atlas, formerly known as Mantle." The scroll acted like a projecting, placing a map of Edelweiss' world on the wall. Once she was more comfortable, Colin was definitely going to ask Edelweiss if he could study her scroll.
"And please hold your questions until I'm done speaking about our current topic."
Damn.
Weiss knew that her class was going to happen eventually. Director Piggot had placed too much of an emphasis on unlocking aura during their initial negotiations, and she gave up too quickly once Weiss pushed back, way too quickly. That meant the Director knew what she was doing, playing the long haul, hoping to eventually convince Weiss of unlocking aura in the future.
That's why Weiss planned on speaking about the subject most people would consider boring for her first 'Remnant 101' class, history. Personally, Weiss was a fan, unlike the rest of Team RWBY who preferred their more hands-on classes. Except for Blake, she had the highest grades in classic literature.
Clockblocker was snoring by the time Weiss finished speaking about the reason Atlas changed their name from Mantle. Hiding her smirk with an impassive face, Weiss pressed a few buttons on her scroll.
"Now I'm sure you're wondering, since Remnant has aura and Dust to protect themselves from the Grimm, why haven't they been able to expand past the kingdoms and the outlying villages?" Weiss had saved the best for the end. The hologram of an average sized beowolf formed besides Weiss much shorter body. "This is a beowolf, one of the more common species of Grimm."
Sure Weiss could have summoned one with her glyphs, but she'd rather keep that particular asset close to her chest for now. Her audience started whispering. Dennis had finally woken up from his nap. Armsmaster raised his hand.
"I'm not done talking yet." Weiss crossed her arms over her chest. Armsmaster quickly lowered his hand. Ignoring Assault snickering, Weiss pressed another button, with more beowolves forming.
"Beowolves always hunt in packs, so whenever there's one, more are surely to follow." Weiss hardened her eyes. "And I can assure you, that even a small pack can devastate an entire village if caught off guard. Grimm tend to move in hordes, gathering strength until they have enough to attack an outpost, or frontier town."
"They don't look that bad, I bet Armsmaster could take them on easy-peasy with his halberd." Dennis decided to open his fat mouth. The two PRT commanders nodded in agreement.
"Easy-peasy huh?" Weiss raises an eyebrow. While it was true, a single beowolf could easily be slain by a trained huntsmen or huntress, it could also just as easily kill someone without aura. "What if they also had hundreds of these, dozens of stories tall and just as wide, with every wound just causing more Grimm to appear?"
A recording of the Wyvern from the attack on Beacon appeared on the wall, causing everyone's eyes to widen. This particular video was shared on every news channel on Remnant, with the traitorous Atlesian knights edited out. Weiss kept staring forward as the video kept playing, with hundreds if not thousands of different kinds of Grimm laying waste to Vale.
Goliaths, Ursa Majors, Boarbatusks, Death Stalkers, Griffons, Nevermores and more. Weiss placed a hand on her hip.
"So Clockblocker, does it still look easy-peasy to you?"

Chapter Text
The conference room was filled with silence, until Armsmaster raised his hand politely. Well, at least he waited, and followed Weiss' instruction.
"Yes, Armsmaster?" Weiss turned her attention from Dennis to the halberd hero. Perhaps she had been a bit too emotional when she played that video from Beacon's fall.
"It looks like an individual Grimm isn't too much of a threat." Armsmaster said, kept his voice even, clinical. "It appears to me that their main strength is in their numbers from what you've shown so far."
"That's true, however, even an individual Grimm depending on their species can be too much for a single huntsman, or cape." The larger and older Grimm could take on an entire team of huntsmen and huntresses.
"That would have to depend on the parahuman." Armsmaster fired back. "Against that dragon, most of the Protectorate ENE wouldn't stand a chance at killing it, surviving it would be on a case by case basis, the same as your claim about different species of Grimm. Different parahumans have different capabilities, the same as the Grimm."
Weiss nodded along. She always enjoyed discussions such as these, seeing other points of view. When she was younger, Weiss would sit in on Father's meetings with the board of directors, arguing. There was a lot of arguing now that Weiss thought about it.
"Alexandria's abilities are different from my own, and she has been able to send Leviathan flying with assistance. We have no idea if the Grimm from your world are as strong as the Endbringers, which hundreds of capes and parahumans volunteer to fight. While your people may have struggled against that dragon, in theory, any member of the Triumvirate should be able to kill it." Armsmaster continued his rant. "Of course since there are only three of them, they won't be able to be everywhere all at once, which is where the amount of Grimm come in. With the ability to unlock aura, your people have evolved in answer to their numbers. Aegis, Vista and Velocity for example, perform differently on the field. It seems to me that the powers granted by aura are mostly streamlined, which makes them predictable."
"That's also true." The only things that made huntsmen and huntresses unique were their weapons and semblances should they ever be unlocked. Armsmaster made a lot of good points, even if they needed to be verified.
"The differences in power of both our worlds cannot be compared, unless another session is used to see how aura performs against parahumans with different ratings." Armsmaster said simply. "Our worlds have evolved differently so-"
"I think we're going off topic here." Miss Militia spoke up this time. Even with her bandana covering her mouth, Weiss could tell she was smiling sheepishly.
"Miss Militia's right!" Assault shouted. "As fun as this is, I have things to do." He pointed his thumb at Battery who slapped his shoulder.
Armsmaster frowned, but remained silent.
"Very well, we'll have to continue this conversation at a later date." Weiss pressed her lips in a thin line and smiled. "Since we already discussed a little bit about aura, we'll move onto that next."
She tapped her scroll, which displayed 'The Losers guide to Aura' on the wall in bold white letters. Weiss had created this presentation with Ruby, as a favor for Pyrrha who had to help Jaune catch up on everything. Parts of it had to be changed though, to make it easier to understand with less context from Remnant.
"Aura is the manifestation of one's soul."
"And that should be all for today." Weiss turned off her scroll, the lights in the conference room turning on, nearly blinding her. Times like these made Weiss glad that her scroll was expensive, with the ability to charge using solar power. "Thank you all for coming today." She bowed her head slightly.
The 'class' had lasted longer than she expected, with more people asking questions after Armsmaster initial probing made everyone comfortable. The doors unlocked, finally allowing them to leave. Those PRT officials were the first ones to leave. Dennis jumped up from his seat, stretching comically as the others started to file out one by one.
"Finally!" He exclaimed, sauntering up the steps towards the exit, with Carlos, Chris and Dean who waved before leaving with the Protectorate, minus Armsmaster who was still in his seat. Vista stayed behind, walking in the opposite direction towards Weiss.
"You were great, Weiss!" Vista grinned. She was lying of course, the former heiress wasn't a suitable teacher.
"Thank you. Let's go get something to eat, I'm starving." Weiss smiled in return as they both made their way to the exit. After this she had a meeting with Glenn, who wanted to stick her in the studio to release an album within the next couple months or so. Apparently he wanted Edelweiss to dethrone some singer named Canary as the top parahuman performer, all for the glory of the PRT.
How annoying.
"You're thinking too hard, Colin." Dragon said playfully. Colin remained in his seat, as his brain worked overtime to process all of the information he had just learned.
"Not hard enough." Colin mumbled under his breath, finally deciding to stand up. As interesting as the history of Remnant was, Colin was more interested in aura, Dust, and those weapons that Edelweiss had briefly mentioned. "Their society is similar yet different when compared to ours, it's fascinating."
With aura being unlockable, the people of Remnant found their answer in combating the hordes of Grimm, with hordes of their own enhanced warriors. Except even all their soldiers, huntsmen and huntresses couldn't be everywhere all at once. If aura could enhance the strength of a human enough to easily be able to kill a Grimm, what could it do to a parahuman?
Strikers like Assault would no longer need to be aa careful when in combat, and brutes such as Alexandria would find their strength amplified. All in theory of course, Colin would need to know more information before coming to any conclusions.
"You should relax for now, maybe tinker a little." Dragon continued.
And then there was something else that Edelweiss mentioned. Anything that an aura-user held would be strengthened, turning it into a deadly weapon, she had used bread and fish as an example. The same must apply to their weapons.
If Colin had aura, by how much would the strength of his halberds multiply? Would they break as easily? Would they turn sharper? How did that work? Would aura work with tinkertech?
"COLIN!" Dragon shouted, pulling the bearded hero from his thoughts.
"Yes, Dragon? Did you say something?"
Dragon sighed softly. "Nothing."
Well that was weird.

Chapter 34: Interlude: Black
Chapter Text
When Blake was accepted into Beacon, she knew that her life was going to change drastically. With dozens of experienced huntsmen and huntresses serving as their teachers, and hundreds of skilled students, Beacon was the safest place to be for a former White Fang terrorist. Blake was a coward after all, so she ran straight into the belly of the beast to hide from another, and nobody ever expected it. They would never imagine it, that someone like her would ever step foot inside their academy, walk their floors, and learn from the best. All it took was a little plain, black bow to hide her ears.
Still, even with all of that, Blake never expected to become friends with a Schnee. It was unheard of, a Schnee and a faunus, an oppressor and a terrorist, it was ironic.
"If you're going to say something, say it." Blake said dryly. The Heiress had been staring at her for the past hour, as if she was trying to burn a hole in the back of the Faunus' head. She was seated near their lone desk at the other side of the cramped room.
"What makes you think I was planning on saying anything?" Weiss fired back, her tongue as sharp as alway, which she hadn't been recently. Weiss had been more subdued recently, nice even after the rest of team RWBY delved into her mind to fight off the Grimm that had buried itself in her heart. The food fight against team JNPR helped to cheer her up a bit.
"I can literally hear your heart beat faster." Blake smirked and wiggled the ears on top of her head. Ever since she revealed her secret, she started taking off her bow more often, while in the safety of their dorm. Blake still wasn't ready to reveal herself to the rest of the school.
Weiss looked like she bit her tongue, probably to stop herself from saying something racist, even unintentionally. Old habits die hard, but she was doing her best, which was all that mattered to Blake.
"Great." Weiss croaked. She coughed into her fist and cleared her throat. "Then I guess you can read minds now too, huh?"
"Only when I have a nice cup of coffee." Blake hummed as she continued reading her book from the comforts of her bed. She hated coffee, everyone knew that, which just so happened to be the Schnee's favorite drink. "Then I can tell the future too. Do you want to know your fortune?"
"Ha, ha, ha." Weiss' fake laugh made Blake's smirk grow. "Then I guess you're not going to want this tea set, complete with longjing from Vacuo, and maude from Mistral."
That made Blake freeze. Those were her favorites! It was Weiss' turn to grin, as she pulled a box from under their desk, which Blake had honestly assumed to be a box of cookies Ruby was hiding from Yang. Weiss stood up, the decent sized box in her hands held outwards. She had a large smile on her face.
"Weiss! That's too expensive!" Blake sat up, and stood up as well, her book forgotten. The tea alone was expensive, having to be imported, amd the brand that Weiss chose cost more than the average family made in a year.
"And I have plenty of money. What's the point in keeping it in a bank and saving it, when I'd rather spend it on the people I care about." Weiss said confidently. She held the box out again, which Blake carefully took. It made her stomach hurt, in a good way.
Carefully placing the set on her bed, Blake threw her arms around the shorter girl. Weiss was such a dummy when she wanted to be but she was their dummy. Weiss hugged back, albeit a bit hesitant. She still wasn't used to having consistent physical contact with others, but Yang and Ruby were quickly breaking down her walls. Blake's too.
"You're smearing your makeup all over me now, Blake." Weiss complained as patted Blake's back softly. She wasn't wearing her heels, which allowed the dark haired girl to easily tower over her.
"You're the one that's crying, not me."
Who would've thought that a Schnee would be one of this Faunus' best friends?
The sound of gunfire was a constant in Blake's life, whether it was during her time in the White Fang, or as a huntress-in-training. Wherever Blake went, violence and death was sure to follow.
"Right behind you!" Blake called out as she raised Gambol Shroud, firing off a bullet or two, which distracted a beowolf from tearing off Oscar's head. The bullets bounced off the Grimm's bone mask, cracking it. A wave of roses flew past it, decapitating its head from its body. Ruby reformed her body, and disappeared again into the small pack that was attracted to the relic Qrow held.
"Blake!" Yang shouted. Her cat ears twitched, and instinctively jumped to the right, just as another beowolf tried swiping at her. Grabbing Gambol Shourd's sheath and transforming the main body into its sickle form, Blake threw it, holding onto its ribbon. She aimed it at the beowolf, wrapping her beloved weapon around its neck. Pulling hard, Blake launched herself back at the monster, using her sheath as a cleaver to finish slicing off its neck.
"Thanks!" Blake shouted back. Yang was busy defending Bumblebee, and the cart where Ruby's wounded uncle and Maria were. The snow was slowing down their progress, and the Grimm certainly didn't help. T-Too bad Weiss wasn't here, they would've been able to use her glyphs to funnel the Grimm into killzones. Blake charged back into the fray, covering Ruby's back who was leaving a trail of black dust. She wouldn't run away, not again.
Blake already lost one friend.
They made camp a few hours later, their small group crowding around a small fire that Maria had built. The short old lady was silently rewrapping Qrow's wound with Oscar's help as they relaxed by the cart.
Blake didn't like the snow, it was cold and rough and it got everywhere. She did appreciate Yang who was sharing a blanket with her. Their hands touched briefly, causing her cheeks to heat up. Pushing any inappropriate thoughts out of her head, Blake turned her attention to Ruby, who was staring into the flames blankly.
"How are you feeling today Ruby?" Blake asked, doing her best to smile. When Weiss died, a part of Ruby did as well. She was more sensitive now, and prone to outburst of anger, just like Yang.
"I'm fine." Ruby grumbled as she pulled her knees up to her chest, wrapping her cape around her body to stay warm. The red scarf Weiss had gave her remained around her neck.
"'If you want to talk about it, we're here." Blake continued. Weiss' death had affected all of them, even the remains of team JNPR. Jaune had taken it particularly hard, Weiss had disappeared in his hands after all. Cinder didn't even leave a body for them to bury.
"We love you Ruby." Yang spoke up this time, her voice tired. "Weiss knew the risk-"
"I don't want to talk about it." Ruby interrupted rudely. She hardened her eyes and stood up, a hand on Crescent Rose. "I'll take the first watch." She stomped off into the darkness.
At least she didn't have an outburst, like the one that caused their split from Jaune, Nora and Ren. They could've really used their help about now.
"I still can't believe she's gone." Yang said after what felt like an eternity of staring at the fire. "She was the most stubborn out of all of us. Fuck, she even escaped Atlas and Daddy Schnee's claws to be with us."
"I know." Blake placed her hand on Yang's own, nodding slowly. This was her fault. What if she didn't run away to Menagerie? What would've happened if she was with the rest of her team when they arrived at Haven? She shook those thoughts out of her head. It all worked out in the end, with the militia from Menagerie they saved Haven, but at a great cost. Either Haven falls, or Weiss' death.
What a horrible decision that would hurt no matter the choice. Not being able to decide hurt even more, and what was done was done. She was pulled from her thoughts when Yang wiped a tear from Blake's cheek with her prosthetic hand.
Blake stared into Yang's lilac eyes. She gave the faunus a weak smile, one that she returned. Life was so short, Pyrrha and Weiss' death proved that anything could happen. Adam was still after her, even with his supporters in jail. Was Blake going to run away again? Was she going to abandon her team again? No, Blake was tired of running away, and if she was going to die, whether by Adam's hand or any other force, she wanted to die without any regrets.
Blake leaned in slowly, a movement that Yang imitated until their lips touched.
She wasn't going to fail her team again. They were going to take the relic to Atlas and defeat Salem.
For Weiss.

The Black interlude is done! A lot changed off screen in the world of Remnant, which will be explained and shown slowly. It'll help keep a mystery in the story.
This was my favorite chapter that I've written recently. It came out onto the page nicely. Now to plan the next arc, I think its time for some action.
Thank you for reading!
Chapter 35: Thirty One
Chapter Text
The best part of being a Ward, in Weiss' opinion, was being able to go out on patrol. To be able to act like a huntress in public, even if she had a few restrictions placed on her abilities. Her Dust reserves were limited, and growing them took longer than Weiss would have liked, even with her special Schnee glyphs. Mrytenaster would have to remain empty until her supply grew, and even then she would have to get permission to bring certain types out in the field. That was annoying, but Weiss would play along for now. She could always rebel against the PRT in other ways.
"Console come in, there's a mugging in progress by the alleyway near Hamilton Street and Lindsey Lane." Gallant pressed a finger to the side of his helmet, even though all of his controls were built on the inside. It was a part of his illusion or something.
"The nearest police officer is a minute away, hold your position." Aegis' voice came from Weiss' earpiece. The alleyway wasn't even that far, just a few steps away.
"I'm going in." Weiss sighed, walking in the alleyway's direction. Apparently, the safest patrols were the ones by the Boardwalk, or around downtown by the PRT headquarters. The rest of the city was a mixed bag, ranging from average neighborhoods to dumps that reminded Weiss of the ghettos in Mantle.
"Edelweiss, wait for the police!" Aegis said firmly. A simple mugging would be easy to prevent, and it could easily turn into a murder scene in less than a minute. Gallant reached to place a hand on her shoulder, but she was faster, dodging at the last second by using her superior lack of height.
"Skkkkkk-we're-skkkkk- losing-skkkksss-connection." Weiss rolled her eyes and removed her earpiece just as she reached the mouth of the alleyway. The mugger hadn't spotted them at the intersection, he was too focused on the purse of his wouldbe victim to notice them. The small crowd that surrounded them asking for pictures didn't help the criminal much.
Glaring at the thug who was in the middle of emptying out his victim's purse with a knife aimed at the smaller woman that cowered next to the garbage cans, Weiss placed two of her fingers to her mouth and whistled loudly.
"What the fu-" The Thug turned around, with their cheap ski-mask doing little to hide how shocked they were once he finally realized who she was. Weiss casually placed a hand on Myrtenaster's hilt.
"Drop that toothpick, put everything back in her bag and come with me if you don't want a black eye along with the jewelry I'm about to give you." That sounded way better in her head. Yang would've had a better one-liner. The criminal dropped the knife.
"O-Ok." The Thug gave up quickly, scrambling to place everything back in the purse. His wouldbe victim snatched it from his hands the moment he was done, and ran towards Weiss side, just as she spotted the lights from the police vehicle that was parking by the curb. Gallant finally caught up to her, since the whole exchange was as short as Weiss was.
"You disobeyed orders." He mumbled low enough for her ears to catch. The police officer was in the middle of securing the Thug while their partner talked to the young woman.
Weiss offered him a grin and shrugged. She was used to getting in trouble for less, even if she really didn't do that much to earn detention. Yang and Ruby always had a way of getting everyone into trouble, even Team JNPR a few times.
Dean should've been used to it by now, he was dating Victoria after all.
"I don't care."
Surprisingly, Weiss was not in trouble by the time she returned to HQ, with Chris and Missy having the patrol after her own. It was a bit disappointing, both the lack of punishment and not being able to hang out with Missy until she came back. Aside from a disapproving head shake from Carlos, the only thing that Weiss could consider a punishment was another meeting with Glenn. She thought the PRT would've been stricter than the huntsman academies back home, but they must've let it slide since no one was hurt in the end.
"We're going to throw you a musical showcase for your debut." Glenn said the moment Weiss took the seat across from him.
"I'm supposed to be a hero, not some showpiece that's supposed to be showed off in front of a crowd." Weiss crossed her arms. It felt wrong, calling herself a hero when she hadn't earned the title.
"Once you're an official member of the Protectorate, sure do whatever you want, but Wards are usually meant to be showpieces." Glenn grinned. "Don't worry, you'll get your own cut from the showcase. Director Piggot and Chief Director Costa Brown have already signed off on it."
It seemed like there was going to be no true victory for Weiss today, since Glenn had already gone behind her back to get approval for his little concert. She'd have to make the best of this.
"Fine, but I get to choose the setlist and on the album." Weiss narrowed her eyes. The fat man remained unfazed, but he nodded his head ever so slightly, causing his chins to wiggle.
"As long as you don't choose something that'll break the image I've crafted, or cause a scandal." Glenn turned to his computer. "Vista's potty mouth was one of the hardest coverups I had to handle, but I got it done."
"Then don't make me look like an idiot." Weiss sighed. This was more tiring rather than annoying. Glenn was pretty mild compared to Father's 'friends' in Atlas.
Glenn gasped and placed a stubby hand over his heart, if he had one at least. "And ruin your reputation before you even have one? Of course not!"
"I don't appreciate your sarcasm." Weiss scoffed.
"Awww and I really appreciate yours."
Touche.

It's been a while.
Chapter 36: Thirty Two
Chapter Text
The worst part of being a Ward, in Weiss’ opinion, were the moments whenever she was left alone to man the console while the rest of the team were in school, attending class. Console work was boring, and had Weiss staring at a screen with a headset for a few hours on end. At least she got to wear her own, comfortable clothes since the console was in Ward HQ, in some computer room. Still, it was lonely at times, especially since Winter Break ended and school’s opened again. Weiss didn’t like being alone.
“There’s a burglary in progress at Kerry’s Sandwich shop by Rooster Avenue, no sign of parahuman activities yet.” Weiss said cooly, marking the report down and filing it. Officially, she was only supposed to be reporting and assisting with cases that had super powered individuals involved, which would allow the PRT to take over from the BBPD. Those cases were often far apart, even in a city like Brockton Bay that had three different gangs with parahumans, so Weiss included non-powered cases to avoid boredom and show initiative. That was something Dean needed to learn.
The PRT officer that was assigned to monitor Weiss’ turn on the console stopped responding a while ago, Agent Topaz if Weiss remembered correctly. She probably got annoyed by the sheer amount of rather normal calls and reports that Weiss kept sending over. Finally getting a chance to relax, Weiss leaned back in the uncomfortable chair that must’ve been put there to make sure they stay awake.
Cupping both of her hands together and taking a slow, deep breath, Weiss willed two glyphs to life, the two of them hovering above each other with six inches of empty space in between. The glyphs rotated slowly, with the symbol of a familiar sword forming like a snowflake. A miniature version of the Arma Gigas soon formed, appearing as if it was built out of snow. It gave Weiss a salute, which made her smile.
“Go to the fridge and bring me a diet coke.” Weiss ordered. While maintaining her aura required more food than usual, Weiss still had to keep her figure in tiptop shape. She had to keep her body sharp, otherwise Myrtenaster would have a master that didn’t deserve to wield it. The miniature Arma Gigas nodded and jumped out of her hands, skittering away like a toy, if said toy could grow to the size of a building if Weiss willed it.
The newest member of the Wards turned her attention back to the screen, adjusting the headset that was doing its best to ruin her perfectly brushed hair.
Life was boring, but at least she didn’t have to attend school.
Weiss’ shift at the console ended once Chris arrived with Dean. How the young tinker managed to pull away the other boy from Victoria’s clutches after school, Weiss was pretty sure was going to remain a mystery. Unless they had broken up again, which was a recurring joke amongst the other Wards.
Dennis had told Weiss about that part.
“Finally!” Weiss stretched her back the moment she closed the door on Chris. He only gave her an awkward ‘Hi’ before Weiss practically ran out of the room. She had a patrol with Missy in a few hours to prepare for. Hopefully that wouldn’t be as boring as her console shift.
“Long shift?” Dean asked from the kitchenette, nursing a cup of what smelled like Weiss’ stash of expensive coffee beans. She’d let it pass for now, but there wouldn’t be a next time
“More tedious than long.” Weiss shrugged, throwing her empty soda can in the recycling bin. She was starting to run out of ways to pass the time quickly though, and had resorted to shopping online once she got her first paycheck. It wasn’t like she had any other uses for money aside from food that she especially liked.
Dean nodded slowly and took a long sip of Weiss’ coffee, swallowing it quickly, not even allowing his taste buds to savor the perfectly roasted black gold. She didn’t doubt he probably drowned the coffee in sugar and cream like a child. “You’ll grow to like it.”
Weiss raised a lone eyebrow. “I’ll be sure to tell Miss Militia and Armsmaster that you’d like longer shifts on the console.”
“Please don’t.” Dean’s plain eyes widened slowly.
Revenge always tasted best at room temperature, the same way Dean liked his coffee.Weiss was definitely going to lock her coffee beans in her room.
“Too late.”
Brockton Bay’s wind, while cold, was refreshing and reminded Weiss of Atlas. Albeit, the winter in Atlas was much colder and violent. Times like these, Weiss was glad she didn’t have to wear a mask. She loved the way the crisp wind pecked at her pale skin.
“I’m freezing.” Missy, now dressed as Vista, said with her arms crossed over her chest. They were standing at the corner of an intersection of a relatively safe neighborhood, waiting for the crossing light to change.
“It’s not that cold.” Weiss smirked, casually placing a hand on Myrtenaster’s hilt. That stance usually managed to keep people hunting for autographs away.
Vista shook her head slightly. “And I still don’t understand that. Your costume isn’t as thick as mine!”
The light finally changed, allowing them to cross to the otherside of the street without breaking the law. Weiss didn’t need pictures or videos of her jaywalking with young Missy all over the internet.
“The cold never bothered me anyways.” Weiss shrugged, her eyes scanning the few people that were out and about. A handful spared them more than a few glances, and a couple others stared, but none of them approached the duo. One did manage to snap a picture, which made Weiss form a small smile that disappeared as soon as the camera disappeared.
“I want to see how the summer treats you now.” Vista teased. She kept rubbing her arms together in an attempt to generate warmth.
