Nedzu has always been a curious being, although humans never stop surprising him, he has always found them to be all the same. It was rare to find a human that stands up in such a big crowd. Being UA’s principal he especially sees the lack of independent thought in teenagers. They are mostly the same, still in need of growth, without much complex thought or life.
Yet here he was, waiting by the minute for the entrance exam to begin and he has his eyes set in the peculiarity that is Midoriya Izuku.
Today seems to be one of those days where things don't want to go according to plan. Nedzu had asked for the teachers to arrive one hour earlier so they could talk about this particular student and his situation but before the meeting could even begin Power Loader informed him that the safety net of the robots was unsynchronised. The net was a code designed by Nedzu himself, with the purpose to ensure that no student is in real harm and since the last time it was rebooted eight years ago there hasn't been a single issue with it, until today.
Having not much of a choice Nedzu cancel the meeting and he was now on his way to the center to sit in the examination room. The room was filled with screens randomly alternating between students. Bellow all the main monitors each teacher had a screen in which they could follow a particular student that they had an interest in. Nedzu rarely used his monitor, finding it more intriguing analyzing the choices the teachers made in theirs.
Nedzu sits in his chair and once everyone it's out of the buses he enters the registration number of the grenette. Honestly, it wasn't unexpected the surprise in the teacher's faces when they saw him but it was still it was quite funny. Nedzu chuckles to himself causing shivers to run through in some on the teachers.
“The exam hasn't even started yet…” Midnight’s confused tone breaks the silence in the room.
“Oh well, you see Midnight I am quite curious of what this student will do for the test.”
Aizawa with a tablet in hand is already checking the resume of the student “Examinee 078976 Midoriya Izuku, quirk: weak fire breathing. What is so interesting about him?”
Nedzu chuckles “Well, I know for a fact that his quirk is not a weak fire breathing quirk, and well you should know he is the reason for the morning meeting and the one we will be having after the exam.”
“What about him merits two meetings?” Asked Cementoss.
“His situation will be solved in one meeting but I would have liked for you to be informed for said meeting, if I am right he is in a bit of a messy situation that is in need of intervention.”
Snipe turns his head away from his monitor and looks at Nedzu. How serious is his situation “Wha-”
“ARE YOU READY GUYS?!? OH SORRY, WHERE YOU GONNA SAY SOMETHING SNIPE??”
“Its okay Mic. We will deal with this after the exam.”
“GREAT, EVERYONE READY?”
“We are ready, give the signal Mic.”

What is he doing? Midnight tough to herself as she watched the student walk as his pears ran into the arena.
The kid is observing the directions in which his pears went but he has yet done any move himself... It's been a whole minute since the exam started.
Suddenly the kid closes his eyes, takes a deep breath and spells a fine line of green light fire into the air. All the teachers are watching attentively as the line of fire splits itself into a lot of little pieces. Pieces that then turn into different animals of fire. Then with a swing of the hand, the animals start running in different directions.
“It seems he was not wasting time..” Ectoplasm looks at the map of the Arena B “He sent big animals where there are more students and smaller faster animals in areas that are alone… “
As said, they can see throughout the cameras that the big animals were throwing themselves in front of students who were in a tuff position and the faster smaller animals were running around destroying the robots that had no students around.
The kid has quite a strong quirk, good observation and planning skills, but can he fight? In a society where quirks are so important people tend to leave hand in hand combat as background knowledge. The fact that her quirk is not one that can be properly directed has caused more than once to leave her with no other option than to fight hand in hand with criminals. He hoped the kid didn't depend too much on what the animals could do for him.
Midoriya continues to stand in the middle of the arena as the animals accumulated both villain and rescue points. She noticed that the eyes of the kid looked unfocused and cloudy. could he be controlling the animal from where he stands?
Mic sends the halftime mark of the exam and Midoriya started running. Extending his arms a pair or escrima stick made of fire appear in each hand. One is the same green color the animals had and the other one is a grey almost black looking fire.
The kid is fast and agile, she can see how the kid has trained with the escrima sticks quite a lot. He is using the green escrima as a blunt stick and the black one as a knife, cutting the joints in the robots, Midnight can see the kid is smart but his moves clearly show a lack of actual fighting experience. His hesitation is something Shota is gonna have to train out of the kid.
At this point, the kid is for sure in 1-A. He will most likely be Shota’s problem child this year. He has good stamina but he keeps wasting it on unnecessary moves. It will be fun seeing Shota trying to teach the kid.
“Four minutes for the exam to finish! let’s see what this promising generation truly has to offer!” Nedzu chuckles maniacally as he presses the red button releasing the Zero pointers.
Everyone in the room observes as a big piece of rubble falls on a girl's ankle. She is in the middle of the Zero pointer’s path. They observe as the students ignore her cries for help too distracted running. That is until Midoriya comes running with a fire rhino on each side. As soon as he is close enough the two rhinos try to help get the rubble of the girl.
I don't think their gonna have enough time...wha….what is he gonna do now?...
The teacher's watch in awe as the rhinos stop trying to move the rubble to stand in front of the girl, covering her from the robot. The kid takes a couple of steps back, he is now face to face with the robot that is coming close by the minute. Midoriya takes a deep breath and opens his mouth spitting black fire all over the robot’s leg, completely destroying it.
And that's it. The exam is over, the teachers are now taking notes of the examines, tonight they will review the footage to assign rescue points.
“.....Another color of fire?” Hound Dog is looking at the middle screen perplex, Midnight turns and watches at the screen to see as the girl is holding her angle, pain in her face, but now in front of her, there’s a light blue cat. The cat starts to nuzzle the girl's ankle and her face changes from pain to surprise...
“Did you see what I saw?” Midnight turns to Hound Dog who seems as surprise as her.
“Yeah... “
From her left she can hear Nedzu laughing.

Aizawa wasn’t sure how to deal with all of this. This mysterious kid whom Nedzu was fascinated by. A kid who seems to have potential but has a misregistered quirk. And if the fact that they were holding a meeting because of him was any indication; The problem child was trouble or he was in trouble.
He decided to wait for the other teachers to arrive to the room. Once they were all there Aizawa couldn't wait any longer.
“As much as I can see how much you are enjoying all of this. Would you mind explaining what’s going on?”
“Of course Aizawa, but first we should wait for everyone to arrive!”
Aizawa frowned, every teacher in UA’s board of directors was already there. Who’s missing?
A knock on the door made Aizawa lookup. I guess I don’t have to be guessing anymore….
Detective Tsukauchi Naomasa and All Might in his small form are waiting by the door.
Things are more complicated now. The detective only comes to UA when there are cases in which there is an issue where it is the word of one student against the other.
“Detective, All Might, Welcome! I estimate that Midoriya will arrive within 5 to 10 minutes. So I will explain the basic situation fast. I wanted to talk to all of you before the exam to prepare you for the situation.”
“Prepare us? How bad are we talking about Nedzu?” Cementoss asked.
“You see, I am not sure. Midoriya is quite the puzzle, he has a lot of pieces but right now I don’t have a clear picture to put them together. In all honestly, I wanted to hold the meeting only with him but since the rules of the school prohibit private conversations with students regarding the school before the results of the entrance exam are given, here we are.
What you should know is that the detective is here because I am not sure what attitude Midoriya might take once he is here, from what I could gather the teachers in his current school are neglectful to the bullying he has suffered through the years. I hope this doesn’t result in him distrusting us but we will have to see.
The reason that the meeting couldn’t wait is because I believe that Midoriya’s home situation is… troublesome. I would like to fill you in but I have a lot of different theories that I won't have time to cover in such a brief time. And only explaining things partially may lead your questions a certain way that won’t help this meeting go as smoothly as possible.”
“Well you already know how the system works but I am obligated to explain to ensure no confusion. I will give each one of you a device” the detective holds in his hand a USB sized black device “And I will be in another room listening to the conversation. One buzz is truth, two buzzes is a lie and one long buzz is inconclusive. I also have to remind you that due to the fact that Midoriya's guardian is not present, whatever information is disclosed here won’t be useful in court or any legal reference.”
“I have read the file Nedzu send me and if he is correct in some of the scenarios he assumes. I can tell you that this case may get a bit complicated.”
“So, are his parents abusive?”
“Maybe, in his file, it said that his father died in an accident when he was four so he lives with his mother. At first look, it doesn’t seem like there’s any abuse, but also a lot of things are pointed that way but it doesn’t seem to be physical and there is not much to direct the mother as an emotionally manipulative person… and yes, I am as confused as you are. Since we don’t have time to really talk about this I don’t want to say things that will persuade your questions one way or another.”
“The little listener seems so nice. I would hate for him to be in a bad situation. By the way… why is All Might here?”
“We are all aware of his condition. Within one or two years All Might will most likely be retired. I hope that once he retires, he will be part of the board. With his experience in the field, he can really help the new generation of heroes! So he is going to be listening with the detective in the other room so that he can observe how we deal with complicated situations with students present!”
“Well, we will be going. Anything we need I will be sure to message one of you.”
With the detective and All Might in the other room, they waited. Aizawa was about to ask if there was a particular reason behind the bullying when a phone ringtone was heard from just outside the door.
“Did you leave without me nerd?!?”
“No, I am still at UA. You should go without me.”
Something incoherent was heard.
“No, I… I am busy.”
“Did you got hurt nerd?!”
“Aww… you care about me?”
“No. Fuck you. I am leaving.”
“Love you two! See you later Kacchan”
“Tch, whatever”
That…. that was interesting, at least the problem child has a.. friend?
A knock on the door was heard.
“Come in!”
The boy, Midoriya hesitantly enters the room and sits in the center chair.
“Well Midoriya, you may wonder why you are here. There are a couple of things we would like to discuss with you.”
Aizawa was watching Nedzu. He was known for not being the most sensible of beings and if his case is a complicated one. He really needs to be careful so he doesn't scare the kid away.
“Well first I think is only appropriate to congratulate you for having a perfect score in the written exam. Something that hasn't happened in years. I decided to read your essay between the written and practical exam and I must admit I am truly impressed.”
“Wow… Thank you… i-it means a lot to me to be complemented by you on an essay I wrote.”
Midoriya was smiling, a slight blush on his cheeks.
“Well having said that, I will cut the chase. I hope that you answer honestly, okay Midoriya?”
The kid slowly nodded looking a bit nervous.
“First question. Who is Lilac?”
Instantly the kid seemed to both tense and relax when asked…. interest reaction.. probably did not expected to be asked that...
“W-well it's a bit of a… curious? Story…”
The kid was looking at his hands while fidgeting with a small paper clip.
“Well, I am sure everyone would love to hear it..”
Midoriya looks up.
“Okay… how should I start?”
