    Nedzu does not expect an early birthday present.

    The real question is, Izuku realises, just what is actually realistic for a quirkless person in a society run by quirks? It's the first time he analyses not heroes or villains but himself and realises, well, fuck.
    Being realistic means dying. Suicide, bullying, assaults and outright targeted murder.
    At least this way it's as painless as he can make it for himself and his mom. It's on his own terms, rather than anyone else's.

    Shouta Aizawa sees more suicides than he wants to recall. Is too late for too many, only finding dead bodies down dark alleyways.
    But not this one, he vows. Not this kid. He doesn't know him, not his name or what he looks like. But every kid deserves a hero, deserves everyone working themselves to their bone to help them, even if they're too late. Even if others in society drove the kid to this point; at least Shouta wasn't one of them. At least he tries everything. At least he doesn't give up until he's past the point of exhaustion and there's not even an inkling of hope.
    And he doesn't want to give up on this one. Not like everyone else apparently has. Even All Might.

    Sometimes Midoriya Izuku wished he hadn't accepted All Might's offer. He wished he had made his way to the top with his fists and bared teeth, blood on his knuckles, no power drumming beneath his skin.
    Alas, life wasn’t fair, Midoriya had said yes, he had graduated out of UA and had become a Pro hero, green lightning following him all the way to the end.

    But who said it was too late for change ?

    Midoriya's life was never easy, and was never fair, so of course, he would get hit by a time travel quirk and end up stuck in the past, 14 and quirkless again. Shit.

    Watch as Midoriya has to pave his way towards his dream, brick after brick.

    But no one said he had to do it alone.
