I won't leave you

Summary:

Rin had a nigtmare and seeked Isagi for comfort.

Notes:

Hello all awesome people!

First of all before you read this fic, I have to mention that english is not my first language. There will be some grammar mistakes and I may have used some words incorrectly, so I'd be grateful, if you'd take your time and inform me about the mistakes you'll find in the text. That would mean alot to me <3

But to the point. I felt like writing some awesome Isagi x Rin fluff. God, I love fluff so much! And the other thing I love almost as much: angst.
When I started writing this, it wasn't meant to be angsty at all, but well.. oops? But I think this is still very wholesome.

I'll probably be writing some Isagi x Rin fics in the future.

I’m not expecting this to reach people, but if you are reading this, enjoy!

(Ps. Also in this fic all of the blue lock players has their own rooms.)

Work Text:

Isagi was lying on his bed. A gentle glow from a phone screen washed over his face. The room was dark and the only light source aside from his phone was a dim yellow light pushing under the door.

Isagi was so engrossed scrolling through his youtube feed, that the knock on the door almost went unnoticed by him. With a puzzled look Isagi propped himself on his elbows and stared at the door. He wasn’t sure if he had really heard someone knock on his door, or if he had just imagined it all. Quietly he listened. If there was really someone behind the door, surely the person would knock again.

There was no sound for a moment and then there it was again. This time the knock seemed far more harsh, desperate?

Isagi wondered who could be behind his door at this hour. He clicked his bedside lamp on, got up from his bed, and made his way to the door. Frowning He unlocked the door and pushed it open.

He lifted his gaze and saw Rin standing in the hall. Rin’s hand was raised up to knock once more, but quickly fell to his side when the door finally opened. His eyes shone with worry, something that Isagi had never seen in them. Isagi was sure that there flashed a hint of relief in Rin’s eyes when he met Isagi’s gaze. In no time his expression was back to its usual self (or at least as back as it could go.)

After a short moment of surprise, a small smile crawled its way up on Isagi’s lips. He was about to greet the boy standing at the door, but Rin was quick to step in the room and pull isagi in a tight embrace. Isagi’s eyes widened in surprise at the sudden action, but was quick to recover and wrap his hands around the tall boy.

“Hi.” Isagi mumbled against Rin’s shoulder and inhaled Rin’s scent. Rin didn’t say anything, he greeted Isagi with a hum and rested his head on the crook of his neck.

Isagi waited for Rin to let go, so that he could close the door that hung wide open. He didn’t want anyone to peer in the room. Well most likely there wouldn’t be anyone wandering around in the empty halls at this hour, but you could never be too sure. Rin was an example of that.

Rin and Isagi didn’t try to keep their relationship a secret from anyone. To them, others knowing made no difference. It kinda just happened that no one actually knew about their relationship. They had decided that they wouldn’t hide it and not shove it into people’s faces either. They would let others find out on their own.

However Isagi guessed that it was hard to figure out they were dating, because Rin or Isagi hardly showed any affection towards each other in public. To them it was still new. Though Isagi was sure that Batchira and Ichiri knew about their relationship, or were at least suspecting something. Whatever the case was, neither of them had said anything about it to them.

Isagi lowered his hands around Rin's torso and tried to pull away from his embrace. Keyword Tried. When Rin realized that Isagi had let go of him and was trying to pull away from his grasp, Rin tightened his grip around the boy and squeezed him harder to his chest. Not hard enough to hurt the shorter boy, just hard enough so that the boy couldn’t get away from his embrace.

“Mhm don’t go.” Rin muttered almost inaudibly against Isagis neck with a voice that had a hint of despair in it.

Isagi frowned at Rin’s desperate tone of voice. Isagi didn’t know what had caused this sudden act of endearment. Rin was hugging him like it was Isagis last day on earth and it started to feel like the taller boy feared that Isagi might vanish into thin air, if he’d let go.

“Okay, I’m here, I’m not going anywhere.” Isagi said soothingly. “Just let me close the door first.”

Rin squeezed Isagi one more time before he loosened his grip. Isagi walked to the door and locked it. He was about to turn around and face Rin when he felt arms wrap around him from behind. Rin was hugging him from behind. Isagi smiled slightly at Rin's behavior. It was rare to see the stoic and composed boy act like this. Rin was like a koala clinging to a tree and refusing to let go. At the same time Isagi could sense that there was something weighing the taller boy's mind.

“Rin.” Isagi said fondly and placed his hands on top of Rin’s that were resting on his abdomen.

“Mhm?” Rin hummed.

“Let’s go lay on the bed, is that okay?”

Isagi felt Rin nod against his shoulder. Isagi smiled. Reluctantly Rin let go of Isagi and took off his shoes, placing them next to the front door. He had been in such a hurry and had forgotten to take them off.

Isagi had already crawled on the bed and was now laying on his back. He spread out his arms, waiting for Rin to crawl on top of him. He watched as Rin hastened to the bed and quickly climbed on top of Isagi. When Rin was settled in Isagi’s arms, Isagi wrapped his arms around Rin’s muscular torso and pulled him in his warm embrace.

Rin’s left side of the face was resting against Isagi’s chest. Rin could hear Isagi’s slow heartbeat.

He focused on the steady rhythm. Ba bump, ba bump, ba bump. Rin also felt Isagi’s chest heaving under his head.

Rin let out a shaky exhale and deeply inhaled Isagi’s comforting scent and let his shoulders relax. Isagi was right there with him. Those were Isagi’s hands that held him closely. It was Isagi’s heartbeat that steadily pulsated under his cheek and it was Isagi’s chest that slowly rose on his every breath.

Isagi. Isagi was with him.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Rin felt isagi’s hand slowly starting to stroke his back. Isagi let his other hand wander in Rin’s hair. He started gently running his fingers through his soft hair in a soothing motion. The gesture was so full of love, that Rin decided he was never going to get up from Isagi’s loving embrace, at least not until he really had to.

Rin wasn’t going to get up, and Isagi had no intention of letting Rin go.

After a comfortable moment of silence Rin finally spoke.

“I had a bad dream.” Rin mumbled quietly and suddenly he felt like a little kid, who ran to his parents after a nightmare. Maybe it had been a bad idea to come to Isagi. He didn’t want to bother him, surely he had better things to do than to look after him. Why was he acting so childish?

Isagi noticed how Rin’s breaths started to pick up pace and become more rapid. Isagi immediately started to soothe the boy in his arms.

“Hey, shhh, everything is alright. I’m here.” Isagi soothed and pressed a light kiss on Rin’s head. Isagi noticed how Rin started to calm down and his breathing was soon back to normal. Slowly Isagi brought his fingers back to Rin's hair and started to run them through his scalp.

“I’m sorry. Rin whispered.

“Hey don’t apologize, you have done nothing wrong.” It hurt to see Rin in a state like this where he was hurting. Isagi wanted to lift all that weight from Rin’s shoulders and to see him happy. At the moment Isagi could only be there for him and listen.

“I saw a dream where you weren't there anymore. I was all alone.” Rin whispered. “It wasn’t nice.”

A moment of silence. Isagi let Rin continue.

“I had to come check if it really happened. I don’t want to be alone again."

Isagi felt a sting in his heart. He tightened his grip around Rin. I don’t want to be alone again. It was hard to hear those words. Isagi knew that after his brother had turned his back to Rin, he had been left all alone. His parents didn’t really pay him any attention and he didn’t have friends. Rin lived in his brother's shadow. It was rare to see Rin this vulnerable. The thought of how much Rin must have been hurting pained Isagi. No wonder why Rin had been so fast to pull Isagi in a tight embrace as soon as he had made eye contact with him.

Now Rin holding him like he was some kind of life source didn’t seem so odd anymore. Isagi was sure if the roles were switched, he would be acting the same.

“I’m here and I’m not going anywhere, I promise.” Isagi said in a soothing manner. “I’m happy that you came to me. Don’t be afraid to come to me in the future, I’m always here, I’ll listen.” Isagi continued to run his fingers through Rin’s hair.

Rin relaxed and closed his eyes. Isagi combing through his hair with his fingers felt so nice. Rin realized how lucky he was to have such a great boyfriend, who took such good care of him. For once Rin allowed himself to be taken care of and be lulled to sleep listening to Isagis soothing words and to the feeling of Isagi’s hand stroking his back.

After a while Isagi noticed how Rin’s breathing had slowed down. Quietly he called Rin’s name to check if the boy was still awake. When he heard no answer, he let his arms wrap around the sleeping boy, letting them rest on Rin’s back. Isagi had seen Rin’s frail side, that the boy so earnestly kept hidden from the world.

Isagi would not let anyone hurt Rin, not when he was present.
