It took a lot of convincing from Tubbo, maybe even hours trying to convince Tommy and Ranboo that it was fine, but at last, Tubbo was allowed to go back home.
Obviously the messages from his parents to Kristin and Phil that expressed only the most sincere concern for their poor baby boy helped.
Juuuust a bit.
Tubbo’s mum and dad both arrived at the Watson's household, singing praises and thanks to Kristin and Phil for looking after Tubbo when he ran off after that argument.
(both Kristin and Phil would have preferred if Tubbo stayed with them, but they legally couldn’t do anything without proof, of which they had none)
When his parents saw him, they immediately flocked to him, checking over Tubbo as they both saw the small scratches that were painted along his skin sporadically. Tubbo smiled, thanked each of the Watsons, and also thanked his parents for allowing him time away. Because at the very root of it, his parents could have called the police on both Phil and Kristin for keeping their son from them without any permissions, but they didn’t.
Tubbo climbed into the back seat of the car as his father sat behind the wheel, his mother sitting in the passenger seat.
Tubbo was grateful that his parents were being normal in the car on the way home, just turning on the radio, his mum and dad were content to simply chat when necessary, allowing Tubbo to scroll through his phone. It was peaceful.
Quite frankly, Tubbo would have loved it if the entire… “situation” could be forgotten about altogether!
But
He knew that his parents would want to talk to him about it. At least eventually.
And that time came when the trio got home.
Tubbo had gone to have a quick shower and get changed, and after he was done, he heard his mum calling him down to the living room.
“Hi, honey,” His mum said. “We wanted to talk to you about what happened, is that ok?”
“Oh- uh yeah, sure.”
“First of all,” Tubbo’s dad said, clearly remorseful and hating the fact that he had something to cause this conversation. “We both wanted to apologise.”
Huh
“What we did was entirely awful to you, and while we are well aware that apologising isn’t fixing it, we understand that to be able to move forward, we need to address it.”
“Exactly,” his mum piped up. “We want you to know that we love you, and that we are both so lucky to have you as our son,” she told Tubbo, a kind look in her eyes. “We promise to you, nothing like this will ever happen again, and we understand that we were in the wrong in that situation.”
“So, Tubbo,” His dad said, clearly wanting for this whole debacle to be dealt with as soon as possible. “What do you think, son? Can you forgive us?”
“We won’t be angry if you don't forgive us,” His mum said, although quieter, as though a reminder.
Tubbo cleared his throat before speaking.
“I think that I forgive you. I at least know that I want to forgive you. But, I think it may take me a bit to fully trust you two again. Is that okay?”
“That’s totally okay, honey.”
“That’s okay and honestly it’s understandable.”
“Thank you,” Tubbo responded before taking a breath. “I might just go to my room for a bit and watch some videos on my laptop, is that okay?”
“Oh, of course! We’ll call you down for dinner, sweetie.”
Tubbo reached his room and finally picked up his phone from it’s position, face down on the bed.
BIG MAN TOMMY - 32 messages
My Beloved - 10 messages
BIG MAN TOMMY - 3 missed calls
Wow.
Tubbo knew they were pretty protective, but this sorta seemed like overkill to him.
He began to think out what he wanted to type back before eventually giving in and just calling Tommy back.
He picked up after the first ring.
“TUBBO!! Why the fuck didn’t you answer my messages! Or my calls! Or Boob Boys messages!!!”
Tubbo found himself laughing a bit at Tommy’s desperation to talk to him, but kept it was quiet as possible, understanding why he was worried.
“Toms, I’m fine. The reason why I didn't answer is because I was away from my phone. I went and had a shower, and then I had a talk with my parents.”
“You had a talk with your parents???”
Tubbo heard a muffled, distant voice on the other end
“Ask him how it went!”
Ranboo.
“Tommy, just put me on speakerphone, I know that Ranboo is there and that he also wants to hear what i have to say.”
“Fuckin fine.” Tommy grumbled, clicking the phone on speaker mode.
“Alright. Hi Ranboo!”
“Hi Tubbo!”
“Okay, alright! Just tell us about the talk with your parents!!”
“Calm down, toms. Nothing bad happened. They didn’t even do anything wrong in the first place!”
“Tubbo…,” Tommy said with a warning tone.
“Seriously! Nothing bad happened! There’s no reason for you to think that, anyways!”
“Tubbo, please?” Ranboo said, begging for Tubbo to tell the truth. “It’s just tommy and I here, we’re in the treehouse, no one else can hear. Just please tell us?”
Tubbo sighed at that, having been backed into a corner that he could very easily get out of, if he didn’t have the best friends ever.
“Okay, they apologised a lot , I told them that I want to forgive them, but I need a bit to trust them, and then they let me go up to my room again so that I could watch videos on my laptop.” Tubbo said in a steady stream of words that was slower than he usually spoke. “Everything is a-ok guys, don't worry.”
“Hmm alright. But! You have to keep letting us know stuff man! Remember the agreement we made.”
Ah yes, the agreement. Tubbo had to, each day, message someone (one of the Watsons or one of the Loveds) and keep them up to date on how he was going, and if anything bad had happened.
Some may say it’s overprotective.
Yeah. it is a bit.
But Tubbo doesn’t mind, because he has full trust in the fact that he won’t be needing to tell them about bad things that happen each day. He wasn’t sure where this trust came from, or what it was placed within, but he had it.
“Yes, I remember, and I promise to keep up with it.”
Silence
“Thank you two for being the best friends I could ever ask for.”
They sat on the phone watching movies for 6 hours, Tubbo's parents even letting him bring his phone and eat while watching.
