It was quiet and dark in casita. While everyone else is sleeping, Mirabel is staring up at the ceiling.
She really, really, couldn't sleep. She had to finish her embroidery list! If she doesn't do it now, her list would pile up more!
As she puts the needle in her white fabric, the embroidered shoes glow, and suddenly jump out the cloth and is now standing in her sewing desk.
"Alright."
As she looked at her list, she drew a check mark at Jose's shoes.
Now, she just needed to finish ten more. Not that much! She needed some water though, quite thirsty after all that work.
She walks towards her door, and slowly opens it just in case her prima hears her. After opening her door, she bolted out of her room. Okay, okay, she knew she was gonna be silent. But listen, it's creepy! It was about 3:00am in the morning!
As she runs towards the kitchen, she finally reaches the counter. There were some left over arepa con queso, which was pretty good for her, she was really hungry. She needed to finish this fast, she knew Camilo was known to stay up late just for her mom's arepa.
As she grabs a plate, she quickly puts stacks and stacks of leftover arepa's for her. Just in case? She might not wake up for breakfast, and It would be good not to be hungry when she wakes up.
Ah yes, she forgot what she came here for, water. Honestly, coffee is better. As she puts the plate of arepas down, she tries finding their coffee stash.
"Found it!"
She says with a smile on her face, she hadn't drunk coffee in awhile. Would be good right now. As she prepares hot water, she sits on the floor and eats one of the arepas.
"These are pretty good."
Yea, yea, she knows mama would most likely scold her for staying up late again and drinking coffee, but at this point she's too tired to care.
As she continues eating some arepas, she doesn't notice her primo walking towards her.
Now, don't get Camilo wrong, he's kinda hungry right now.. he was really really craving his tía Julieta's arepas since he knew there was at least a stash in the kitchen.
So now he's out of his messy room, and the first thing he notices is that his prima's door is open. He sighs, as that means that she probably stayed up late again doing her embroidery list.
As he walked towards downstairs, he heard a loud "Found it!" Yep, Mira definitely stayed up. Was she drinking coffee again? Didn't tía julieta scold her from doing that? He sighs again, as that means that he has to drag his prima to bed again and convince her to just do her embroidery tomorrow.
He enters the kitchen, and he immediately sees his prima sitting on the floor with arepas. And there was boiling water as well, so yep. She was definitely planning on drinking coffee.
While eating she says, "These are pretty good."
"Those are tía Julieta's arepas, of course they would be!"
He playfully yells out, and Mira almost immediately drops her plate of arepas
"Camillo dammit! My plate almost fell!"
"I know!"
He chuckles as Mira gives him a death glare.
"Woah, Woah, Chill Mira!"
"Yea right, now shoo! Are you here for mama's arepas again?"
"Uhh yes.."
"Fine, here."
She hands him two arepas, which he quickly grabs.
He casually sits besides his prima, and quickly bites his arepas.
"So.. what are you doing here?"
He asks, curious.
"I was thirsty, but ended up eating arepas though."
" You know what, it definitely makes sense."
They continue on eating the arepas, very much ignoring the sun rising.
"Mira! Did you stay up again?"
Her mama asked her with concern and anger at the same time.
"Maybe.."
"I told you not to stay up! Listen dear, you don't always need to do embroidery everywhere, just have fun! If Camilo comes up to me again and say you didn't sleep, I'll tie you into your bed!"
"Okay, Okay mama!"
She chuckles as she says bye to her mom, she needed to finish her embroidery list again since she stayed up eating arepas. And she swears to god, if Jose lost his shoes again she is done.
As she looked around her bag for all her embroidery materials and cloth, she immediately thought of an idea for Isabella's dress for her engagement dinner.
She was certainly very excited for her hermana, she wanted Isa to have one of the most beautiful dresses for the engagement dinner, and of course she was gonna design some accessories for her familia!
And she couldn't possibly forget tonito, his gift ceremony was almost so close! She was going to embroider an animal plush since he was quite the animal lover.
She was really excited to make accessories and a dress for Isa and her familia, but she knew it was gonna be a tiring process. I mean, her familia had a lot of members in it!
But she knew it was gonna be fun, and it'll be worth it in the end! So she quickly ran towards Miss Elizabeth's shop, Eliza was used to her visiting the shop since she looked for dresses to use as inspiration and fabric for her embroidery of course.
"Miss Eliza! Hello!"
"Ah! Mirabel! It's good to see you again!"
"Do you have some fabric for me? My stash is almost out.."
"Of course! Just for you!"
"How much are these?"
"Oh you know, the usual!"
"Alright! Bye miss!"
"Come back soon!
As she walked out the shop, she kinda regrets running. Now she was very very tired, and she was out of breath from all that running.
"Did you run around town again?"
Ah, she recognized that voice. Dolores.
"Yep."
"Here, have some arepas before I tell tía you almost tripped while running again."
"Okay okay!"
She quickly grabbed the arepas and ate it faster than she could realise.
Now, let's hope her mom won't scold her again.
