“Oh, she is stoned stoned,” Mira says.
Zoey's eyes are alight with mirth, but they soften with something fonder. “Okay, but why is she so adorable?”
“Because she's Rumi,” Mira sighs. “We should probably take her to bed.”
Zoey's face turns dramatic, clutching fake pearls around her neck. “You wanna bone now? In her current state?”
“Not like that, dumbass!” Mira snaps back, but her reddening cheeks remove any bite from her words.
“I think I'm tilting.”
Both girls’ attention returns to Rumi, who, unsurprisingly, is not tilting.
So she purrs. What about catnip?

The vampire looked down slowly at the mess on her clothes, then back up.Rumi’s heart slammed against her ribs like it wanted out.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” the girl said, her voice cold and flat.
Rumi stepped forward without thinking, pressing the flimsy paper napkin against the slick black leather covered in her lunch.
“I—I’m so sorry,” she stammered, every syllable tripping over the last. “I didn’t mean—I wasn’t looking and—”
“You didn’t mean to walk straight?” the vampire snapped, voice slicing clean through her apology. “Or use eyes that work?”
Up close, the vampire’s presence hit like a cold front.
Terrifying, her instincts offered.
Beautiful, her brain added unhelpfully.
And here she was… rubbing at her chest.
The motion was clumsy and awkward—her brain screaming at her to help clean while her hands were busy doing exactly the kind of contact you’d never want to initiate with a stranger.

Boo! This one sucked!” Zoey jeered
“I agreed it’s was terrible.” Mira nodded. Arms crossed around her chest as she walks out of the supposed ‘Haunted House’, Zoey in tow.
The two are completely unfazed.
“Hey…! You think we could make our own?” A fizzling lightbulb idea had suddenly lit in Zoey’s brain.
“…What do you mean by that?” Mira asked. But she had already activated the fuse.
Both eyes turn to Rumi who has half a monster cookie stuffed in her mouth. Causally waiting for them to finish, resting on some nearby benches with their bags and drinks.
She turns to them innocently, wondering why they suddenly had a sharp look of interest painted across both their faces. After just being frightened at in the haunted house.
“What..?”

Or:Rumi is struggling with her demonic urges.
Meanwhile, Zoey & Mira both think letting her hunt them for ‘sport’ would solve all her problems :)
