Chapter Text
It was yet another beautiful day in Tokyo. Or, at least, it would be, if Bakugou Katsuki wasn't headed to his mother's office for the third time this week. She insisted that she needed to talk to him "promptly, Katsuki". As much as he had wanted to argue, he knew that a screaming match with his mother over the phone would achieve nothing. He knew this, and yet still, something in his head wanted to jump at his mother's throat.
Katsuki scowled as he glanced at his watch for the fourth time in the past 5 minutes. The bus was running late, and his mother would have his head if he showed up more than 10 minutes after the time they had set.
After a quick glance to both sides of the street, he decided to just walk the rest of the way. He could probably make it in time if he left now. He turned around from the road and headed down the pavement, eyes glaring in front of him.
He glanced up at the sky as he heard the telltale rumble of thunder, speeding up as the downpour started. He growled deep in his throat as he felt the cold water begin to soak through his clothes.
Clearly, nothing could go right for him today.
He rounded a corner, eyes focused on the ground, so much so that he almost missed him. A tall alpha man was crowded in a corner, hand on the wall, leering down at something. He was about to pull a face and bark out some unsavory comment when he saw him.
A small Omega, back pushed up against the brick wall. His feet fell out of step as he turned his head. The poor man looked freezing cold, no coat on, and soaking wet already. What’s more, he was cradling a small blanket in his arms, which was shivering. As he stepped slightly closer, he came face-to-face with a tiny version of this omega. He was crying against his mama’s shoulder, face dirty and red.
“Fuck-” Katsuki muttered under his breath, looking the way he was supposed to be going, towards his mothers office building.
He would have hell for this.
Still, though, he started moving before he even knew what he was doing.
“-unclaimed omega like you, out here looking so pretty. You’re lucky I found you, baby.” He heard the man mutter, and it made him sick.
“Oi, asshat!” Was the only warning the man had before a fist connected with the side of his head.
“What the fu-”
“Shut the fuck up.” Katsuki shoved him against the wall, eyes glowing red. He could feel his fangs growing, feeding off of the adrenaline.
“Oh shit-”
“Yeah, oh shit.” He growled, flashing his fangs. The other alpha swallowed hard and looked down, head tilting to the side. Submission. “Get out before I rip your throat out and make it look like an accident.” He said, stepping away. The other man was out of sight in seconds.
Katsuki took a deep breath, not yet looking at the omega. He had to get his pheromones under control before he scared the poor thing more.
Calm, Katsuki. The fight is over, idiot.
Omega hurt. Help. Comfort. Mate.
Shut it, alpha, not helping.
He silently warred against his instincts. He heard the omega whimper and turned his head, making eye contact. And, shit, if that wasn’t the prettiest man he had ever seen. Even dirty and clearly sweaty, he was gorgeous. The child's cry ripped him out of his thoughts.
“Th-thank you, sir.” The omega said, bowing.
“What’s your name?” He asked gruffly, taking a step closer to him.
“M-Midoriya.” The omega said quietly, not standing.
And shit, at this new angle, he could see a small bump protruding from the mans stomach. He didn’t just have a kid, he was pregnant.
“Bakugou.” He muttered, helping the pregnant man stand. “Come on, let’s get you out of the rain. Where do you live?” He asked, one arm looping around the smaller man’s back and the other helping him support the child in his arms.
“Uh- I don’t… I mean, I just got here.” He muttered. “I don’t have a place…” He could hear sniffling from the downcast face. Shit, now the poor thing was crying. Fuck, how do you comfort people? Katsuki tried his hardest to pump out calming pheromones, anything but sadness or anxiety. It worked, a little. “Sorry, you must think I’m the worst mom.”
“Me? No way.” He said, shaking his head. “I am in no position to judge you, Midoriya.”
“W-well, thank you for the help.” He said quietly. “But I don’t have anywhere to go, so.”
“No worries.” Katsuki pulled out his phone and typed a quick message to Kirishima. Hopefully the redhead would understand a hastily written car. My location. Now. Followed by a ping to his location. “You can come back to mine. We’ll get you and your pup all dry and back to your alpha in no time.” He said, already scolding himself for touching the omega.
The crying became louder now.
“I-I don’t have- I mean- I just got away from him.” The small voice cried, voice shaking. “Please don’t make me go back.”
Now, that made Katsuki’s blood boil. A pregnant omega, with a kid no older than 1 year, and no alpha? Or one that was abusive? No fucking way was Katsuki letting that happen.
“You’ll stay at my place.” He decided, tugging the omega closer to warm his chilled body. “I have a guest room. I can get you work. I can provide for your pups. At least, until you get up on your feet.” He said, very matter-of-factly. “And I can get that shitty alpha thrown in jail for the rest of his days.” He muttered that last part under his breath, punching in his mothers phone number.
“ Katsuki? Where are you? Meeting started 5 minutes ago.” He heard the loud voice of his mothers shout from the phone.
“I’m not coming, hag. Reschedule the meeting for all I fucking care.” He quietly raged into the phone.
“ Bakugou Katsuki- ”
“Not now, mother” He muttered. “I will come another day, got it? You can yell at me about getting mated another time.” He hit the end call button and slid his phone back into his pocket.
Just in time, too, because he saw Kirishima’s car pull up right next to them.
“Come on, Midoriya.” He whispered, gently nudging him towards the car. The omega shuffled his feet towards it, allowing Katsuki to lead him.
“Yo, Bakubro!” The window rolled down and Kirishima’s smiling face poked out of it. “Whatcha got there?” He shouted, alerting all nearby people that the son of the Prime Alpha was standing there.
“Shitty-Hair, shut the fuck up.” He growled, opening the door for the omega and helping him slide in. Kirishima wiggled his eyebrows at him before he climbed into the backseat alongside Midoriya.
“Where to, boss?” The redhead asks, glancing at the from the rearview mirror.
“Home, please.” Katsuki says, shrugging off his coat and wrapping it around the omegas shoulders. The smaller man sunk into the coat, rocking the baby, who was still crying softly.
Katsuki was never one to think something was cute, but damn. Something about this omega was just too endearing. He wasn’t even sure why, but he had the intense need to protect and provide and care for this little omega and his pups.
Take care of mate. Have more pups.
The alpha in his head echoed, and he mentally scolded himself. This poor man had been through enough, he did not need Katsuki’s alpha to go crazy on him. He allowed himself a few deep breaths before looking out the window, trying to shut up the internal voice. It had never been this incredibly loud before.
Thankfully, Kirishima drove fast, and they were pulling up to the front of the pack house before he even had the chance to shut up his alpha. He shuffled out of the car, before helping Midoriya up and to the door of the house.
“See you later, BakuBro! I’ll tell Mina you said hi!” And then the car was gone, and he was alone with Midoriya again. Katsuki sighed and opened the door to the house.
It was weird to be here during business hours. It was so silent. The whole pack was either at work or out at the moment, so it wasn’t surprising, he just wasn’t used to it.
Katsuki stepped into the house and opened the door wider for Midoriya, whose scent turned sour with panic.
“I c-can’t.” He muttered, tears filling his eyes. Katsuki took a step forward, but Midoriya stepped back. “Th-thank you for your kindness, but I can’t.” He shook his head. “I-I have to- to go. He’s gonna be expecting me soon. I have- to-” Midoriya looked on the edge of a panic attack at this point.
Something in Katsuki’s brain snapped and he stepped forward. He wrapped one arm around Midoriya’s middle, and brought the other down to sweep his feet. He carried him into the house, kicking the door shut. Whoever this other alpha was was going to rot in jail for the rest of his life, Katsuki decided. He felt sick thinking about how this poor omega could be so scared of him.
“N-no, no, no, please.” He heard Midoriya muttering. “D-don’t, I can’t, don’t wanna.”
Katsuki willed his scent to not turn sour, pumping out calm pheromones as he walked up the stairs and towards his bedroom, then, thought the better of it, and turned into one of the guest rooms instead. One with a big bathroom.
Once inside, he set the trembling Midoriya onto the bed and gently took the baby from his arms. The small man wouldn’t look at him, wouldn’t look anywhere, and was shaking so bad Katsuki was worried he would give the baby whiplash.
“Midoriya, please look at me?” He said, kneeling in front of him. The small man barely met his eyes. “I am not going to let you go back to him. I am going to get you both clean, warm, and fed. And then you are going to sleep. And I will call the police and handle it all, alright?” He said, voice so calm he barely recognized it himself.
The omega took a shaky breath, and then another one, until his breathing was under control.
“O-okay.” He stuttered out, nodding.
“You go take a nice warm shower, and I will watch after… uh-” He looked up at the omega expectantly.
“Inki.”
“Inki. I will watch Inki, and you can take your time. I’ll find you both some warm clothes, and then when you bathe him, I’ll make you some food. Alright?”
“Th-thank you, Bakugou-san.” Midoriya muttered.
“Call me Katsuki. Bakugou-san makes me sound like my dad.”
