he woke up laying on the floor, cheek pressed to the carpet, streams of light from the window warm against his cold face. it took some time before he woke up enough to push himself into a sitting position, albeit with some difficulty. he blinked, holding his breath as he looked around his room:
posters ripped from walls were scattered on the floor, some miscellaneous knick-knacks from his shelves broken, furniture out of place, and his aching body on the floor.
there was blood staining his skin, a litany of new bruises and cuts formed on top of old ones, a pounding throb behind his eyes, strange sharp pains in his limbs.
he had tried and failed to escape this hell, but this time there was just too much damage, too much pain for him to bare anymore. searching for his phone, he found the device wedged between his bed and the wall. he scanned through his contacts, ignoring the blast of unread notifications until he found who he was looking for.

"gyu?? where have you been?! where are-"
"can you pick me up?"
"o-of course, from where? are you home?"
"i'll be packed and outside in 10, see you soon."
"beomgyu wait-"
[end call]

beomgyu ended the call and moved quickly to grab any valuables, shoving clothes and treasured items in a bag together along with anything else he thought he might need since he didn't plan on coming back. if there was something he needed, it could be replaced easily enough he decided. giving the room a once-over, he walked to the window to climb out, leaving through the front door would have been too risky. feet landing on dead grass and dirt, beomgyu leaned back against the wall as he set to wait for his savior to arrive.
