Apple Of My Eye

Summary:

Yeonjun and Soobin have been dating for a little over two months and Yeonjun is convinced that Soobin is the one.

Notes:

Hi! This is a little sequel to my “An Apple A Day” Yeonbin one shot. There are a few things that would make sense if you read that first (Soobin’s said apple habit), but overall I would say this can mostly stand alone, but if you’d like to see PURE. YEONBIN. FLUFF. you can go check that out lol

This was me exploring the established and whipped Yeonbin relationship that came from that one shot, but there is one particular line towards the end that was basically the center of this whole thing 😂

I hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

“Baby! Are you ready to head out?” Yeonjun shouts from the kitchen. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and makes a note of the few grocery items they need to stock up on before they can relax for the weekend.

Bread, milk, maybe some eggs, kimchi, can never have too much ramen, whatever dessert item Soobin decides he wants to try this time, and of course green apples.

Soobin and Yeonjun have been dating for a little over two months now. Yeonjun would not be exaggerating one bit to say that these past two months have been the happiest two months of his existence.

He remembers when he first saw Soobin. They were set to meet in a cafe the younger boy frequented. Yeonjun had gotten there early so he could make sure he got a good table, could go to the bathroom to fix his hair one last time, and just overall try to calm his nerves. He was ready for this. He was so ready! He hadn’t been in a relationship for nearly a year now and he was indubitably in a state of mind where he could now put himself out there and be open to finding love.

He had been on a few dates the past few weeks. Nothing overtly bad but nothing memorable either. He had come to the conclusion that if he couldn’t say he felt that special first spark, he couldn’t in good faith pursue the person. Call him crazy but he wanted it to feel like fate, like destiny had finally brought him his person. He wanted that sensation of love at first sight his parents had described when they first set their sights on one another all those years ago. Yeonjun wanted love.

He didn’t think that was too much to ask for. Didn’t care if his friends thought he was too much of a romantic for his own good. He wanted to love someone and be loved. Didn’t everyone want that?

He had a good feeling about this. If anything he was so calm, sitting there waiting for the younger boy, that it was almost frightening how serene he felt.

And then Soobin walked into the cafe.

The moment he saw Soobin walk in, any sense of calm he had in him had disappeared into nothingness. Soobin’s profile photo did not do him enough justice. Soobin was way prettier in real life. Tall and lean. Yeonjun could tell he was muscular in the best kind of way, not intimidatingly so, just natural. Soft red brown hair framing his sweet innocent bunny features, and his lips. Wow, his lips. They looked so soft and kissable and the younger boy was pouting so adorably, searching the cafe for someone.

Oh shit, he’s looking for me.

Yeonjun had scrambled up suddenly, startling those closest to him, but he didn’t care. Soobin had looked his way. His pretty wide eyes began to crinkle at the corners, smiling at Yeonjun as realization sunk in. And when Soobin walked forward to greet Yeonjun, Yeonjun just knew.

He’s the one.

Yeonjun jumps at the feeling of a hand at the small of his back. Soobin chuckles. “Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you. I just can’t find my phone. Have you seen it?”

It takes him a moment to register what he’s said, what with being unable to peel his eyes away from his devastatingly cute boyfriend. Soobin looked so utterly soft in his colorful zip up, with his freshly dyed black hair peeking out from beneath its hood. “Uh… yeah.” Yeonjun closes the fridge and heads towards his living room, the last place he remembers seeing Soobin taking selfies in the afternoon light. Sure enough he finds his boyfriend's phone camouflaged by the dark blanket on the loveseat near the window.

Soobin blushes as he takes his phone back. “Oh. That’s embarrassing.”

Yeonjun chuckles and pulls him down for a quick peck. “No need to be embarrassed. You’re perfect. All your fans on Instagram should know it too.”

Soobin whines softly. “They’re not my fans.”

Yeonjun gives him a look. Really? “Oh I’ve seen the comments section. They’re your fans.”

“Please.” Soobin huffs. “Don’t act like you don’t post thirst traps all the time fishing for compliments. You’re the one with a fanbase.”

Yeonjun grabs Soobin’s elbow and pulls him closer. “Gotta keep up with my hot boyfriend.”

Soobin smirks. “You’re hot.”

“I know.” Yeonjun wraps an arm around Soobin’s middle and Soobin wastes no time tossing his arms over the older boy's shoulders. They giggle and begin to lazily make out against the kitchen counter. Before things can escalate further Yeonjun reminds Soobin that they need to get going if they’re going to get back in time to get ready for the party later tonight.

“Do we have to go?” Soobin whines playfully. “He just had a party last week.”

“Baby, you’ve met Wooyoung. He thinks I’ve been neglecting his friendship. If I don’t go, I’ll never hear the end of it.”

He holds Soobin in his arms tightly. The younger boy plays with the necklace around Yeonjun’s neck as he mulls it over. “You don’t have to go if you don’t want to, bunny. You can stay here. I’ll go, come back at a reasonable hour, and we can cuddle until morning.” He kisses Soobin’s nose. “Hm? How does that sound?”

“And leave you in their clutches?” Soobin kisses his nose back. “I don’t think so.”

Yeonjun laughs. Soobin doesn’t particularly love parties the way Yeonjun and his friends do, but it took all of five seconds seeing a friend playfully flirt with Yeonjun for Soobin to become a jealous mess, vowing to forever accompany Yeonjun to their events. Yeonjun had promised that it was just how his friends were, and with time Soobin had grown to see and understand that, but it didn’t take off the initial sting of seeing it without warning. Soobin had made it very clear that he wanted to like Yeonjun’s friends and would respect their affectionate ways; it would just take some time for him to adjust. He would try his best to not be jealous.

They had had a serious talk when they officially started dating and Yeonjun had learned that this was Soobin’s first attempt at a serious relationship. He was anxious, never having been in one that lasted longer than a few nights, and wasn’t completely sure how to be in one. And later, Yeonjun had chuckled to himself with the way Soobin had described the feeling when he saw Yeonjun’s friends all over him. He doesn’t want to share, Yeonjun thought to himself. He totally understood, having had a few partners in the past also take his affection towards his friends as something more at times. He had never thought much of their displays of affection growing up until he realized it could potentially be a problem to his partners. All his previous partners had for the most part accepted it, but his most recent had turned ugly. Ugly enough that it had led Yeonjun to swear off dating for a while.

In hindsight, Yeonjun should’ve seen the red flags. When his ex didn’t want to communicate. Didn’t want to be around Yeonjun’s friends. When he didn’t even want to just listen to anything Yeonjun had to say. He had felt so stupid when he realized just how toxic the boy he thought he once loved truly was.

But Soobin was different. Soobin liked communication, thrived in it really. Having had plenty of practice being sincere, i.e. blunt, with one night stands and unsatisfying dates had given Soobin a penchant for honesty. He had immediately told Yeonjun that he wanted to talk things out before his mind wandered too far. He wanted to understand Yeonjun and his dynamic with his friends and that made Yeonjun feel over the moon. Soobin had even grown accustomed to giving his own little displays of affection towards some of Yeonjun’s close friends. Yeonjun thought it was beyond adorable how Soobin was trying to acclimate himself into his life. He felt relieved. None of his other boyfriends had tried to be as cordial with his friends as Soobin was.

“Baby, you know he didn’t mean it. He said he was sorry.”

“And I understand that now.” Soobin places a few soft pecks around Yeonjun’s face. “But you’re mine.”

Yeonjun presses his nose against Soobin’s cheek and inhales deeply, making the younger giggle and squirm in his arms. “You’re so hot when you’re possessive.”

Soobin pouts and Yeonjun can feel his heart hammering in his chest at the sight of it. “I thought I was hot all the time.”

“You are, baby.” Yeonjun decides he’ll has time to reassure his boyfriend with a few more minutes of making out before they need to head for the store.

A few minutes turned into over a half hour but they eventually do make their way to the grocery store. Usually they have time to roam around the store and browse for any untried snacks, but due to some circumstances that should’ve been foreseen, like Soobin trying to get into Yeonjun’s pants, they have less time than anticipated. Yeonjun would argue that any time spent kissing and touching Soobin is time very well spent, but he knows that if they start they won’t want to stop and will definitely not make it to the grocery store, much less the party.

Now Yeonjun wouldn’t ordinarily deny his boyfriend the honor of bedding him, but this was different. Sure the party is something he can make up to his friends later, but the grocery store is an immediate must. Yeonjun’s pantry has run dangerously low on green apples meaning the happiness of Soobin’s belly is at stake.

And that is something that is of utmost importance to Yeonjun.

They grab the items they need first and rush over to Soobin’s favorite section; the baked goods. Yeonjun chuckles as he watches Soobin’s eyes widen and skim over the labels to help decide what he’d like.

He sneaks off to grab himself a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream. He starts to make his way back to Soobin but ultimately doubles back, quickly grabbing a pint of chocolate and a pint of strawberry.

Yeonjun sighs, seeing his boyfriend indecisive as ever. Soobin is pouting, staring down at two different containers of sweet bread. “Baby, just get them both.”

Soobin redirects his pout towards him and speaks in a cute tone he knows Yeonjun always falls for. “But hyungie said Soobinie’s snack budget is only two snacks per week.”

“Yeah, that’s two in your hands.”

Although Soobin throws him a deadpan expression, there’s a humorous glint in his eyes. “I know you got ice cream for me when you got that foul flavor for yourself.”

Yeonjun playfully holds the pint of chocolate ice cream at gunpoint with his finger. “Take that back or the ice cream gets it.”

Soobin surrenders laughing and rushes to save his ice cream, “Okay, okay, I’m sorry!”

Yeonjun let’s put a dramatic sigh, “I suppose Soobinie deserves extra snacks. He’s been extra cute this week.”

Soobin scoffs. “Softie. You say that every week.”

“It’s not my fault you get cuter every week.” Yeonjun argues back as Soobin tosses both of his picks into the grocery cart. Soobin does not attempt to argue with such sound logic.

When they arrive back at Yeonjun’s apartment they quickly put away the groceries they’ve secured so they can begin to get ready for the party. Yeonjun lays on the bed relaxing, already having an idea of what he’ll wear. Soobin on the other hand is sifting through Yeonjun’s closet hoping inspiration will strike.

Yeonjun’s closet and overall apartment is very tidy and neatly organized. Or at least it was until Soobin came around. Not that Soobin was an absolute hurricane, but he did have a habit of picking something up and leaving it in a place other than where Yeonjun originally had it.

Soobin ends up choosing a pair of black ripped jeans, a sleek emerald button up and stealing one of Yeonjun’s leather jackets. Yeonjun has to force himself to not drool over his boyfriend as he changes. He then has to force himself to change as well. Yeonjun opts for something more casual; loose fitting blue jeans, a white t shirt and a black and white bomber jacket.

Soobin groans. “How do you do that?”

Yeonjun gives him a questioning look. “Do what?”

“Look so friggin good without even trying!”

Yeonjun whines shyly. He can feel a blush creeping up his neck. He knows he looks good, always revels in the attention he gets, but it feels different when it comes from Soobin. It feels better.

They sneak in some much needed praises and kisses as they finish getting dolled up. They’re just about ready to leave for Wooyoung’s place when Soobin questions him.

“Why are you taking that?”

“Huh?” Soobin points his chin towards the bag Yeonjun is currently throwing over his shoulder. Yeonjun pouts. “What’s wrong with my bag?”

Soobin giggles, wanting nothing more than to coo at the older boy. “Nothing, I didn’t mean anything by it. You just usually don’t take anything with you.”

Yeonjun cards his fingers through his hair. “Ah. It’s not much, love. A bottle of this wine Wooyoung likes but can never find and a few things he needs for his part in our class project.”

Soobin gives him an incredulous look. “You’re bringing homework to a party?”

“Well I can’t very well support you as my beautiful future trophy husband if I don’t maintain my stellar grades and find a good job, now can I?” Yeonjun jokes, coming forward to plant a loud kiss on Soobin’s temple.

If Soobin finds his answer suspicious, he doesn’t comment on it any further. The younger boy laughs and slings his arms over Yeonjun’s shoulders, giving him a quick final peck. “I suppose you’re right. Let’s go, we’re already late.”

When they arrive at the party they are immediately greeted by dozens of smiling faces and loud music reverberating through the floor beneath them. Yeonjun hugs and high fives just about everyone as he begins to weave through the crowd. He’s calmed by the feeling of Soobin following closely behind him, with shy little hellos and quietly giggling, always fascinated by how popular his boyfriend is. Yeonjun smiles to himself when he catches glimpses of Soobin hugging the people he’s grown fond of.

He grabs Soobin’s hand and leads them towards the kitchen. He presses Soobin against the counter and kisses him before he begins filling two red plastic cups with a mix of soda and a fruity soju Soobin likes. They’re so distracted with each other that they don’t realize Taehyun has entered the kitchen with Beomgyu following closely behind, until one of the boys claps a hand on Yeonjun’s back.

“Hyungs, you made it!” After a quick round of hugs and greetings Yeonjun asks where their youngest friend, Kai, is. Taehyun let’s out a breathy chuckle and sighs, already feeling the second hand embarrassment. “Probably on the dance floor.”

Beomgyu barks out a laugh. “Something about having perfected that new girl group’s choreo and needing to show off.”

They sip at their drinks and chit chat for a while longer until Yeonjun excuses himself to go find another one of his friends he hadn’t seen when they arrived. He kisses Soobin for longer than necessary, eliciting a series of groans and so gross from their friends and a blush from his boyfriend. Soobin laughs it off and let’s him know he’ll be sitting on one of the couches and watching the others dance in the living room.

Once he exits the kitchen it doesn’t take long for Yeonjun to spot the long haired blond boy leaning against a wall near the edge of the dance floor. Yeosang has always been the calm in the midst of the hurricane that was their friend group. Which is why Yeonjun finds it a lot easier to come to him for more serious matters.

“I’m in love.”

The blond boy scoffs. “Hello to you too.”

Yeonjun plops onto the wall next to him and settles his head on Yeosang’s shoulder. “Sorry. Hi. I’m in love.”

He smiles down at Yeonjun. “I know.” He doesn’t know how long they stand in a comfortable silence, but he doesn’t mind. When there’s a lull in the music Yeosang speaks again. “Have you told him yet?”

Yeonjun shifts nervously. “It’s not too soon?”

“Yeonjun. Anyone with eyes can see that you love that boy.”

Yeonjun blushes. He knows he’s not very covert when it comes to feelings. It’s just the romantic in him. He sighs. “It’s his first serious relationship. I just- I don’t wanna scare him off.”

“I think the only thing Soobin needs to be afraid of is your cooking.”

“Yah!” Yeonjun gently smacks the joys arm. “I’m a decent cook. Wooyoungie has been teaching me.”

“Not sure if that’s the selling point you want to have.” Yeosang lets out a low chuckle. “Speaking of which, you might wanna check up on that boyfriend of yours right about now.”

Yeonjun follows Yeosang’s gaze to the makeshift dance floor. He peers past other partygoers, past Kai trying to teach Beomgyu and Taehyun some new dance moves, until finally he sees what Yeosang had meant. Soobin has forgoed his leather jacket and is happily dancing with Wooyoung and San. A smile tugs at the corner of Yeonjun’s lips. At these parties Soobin tends to have a routine. He can be found spending the night plastered to Yeonjun’s side, in the kitchen coming up with whatever drink or snack he’s feeling that night, or on one of the couches talking with Taehyun and laughing at the others’ ridiculous dance moves. It warms Yeonjun’s heart seeing him come out of his shell, especially with his more extroverted friends.

So it comes as a surprise to him when he suddenly feels his smile slowly begin to drop.

Yeonjun normally isn’t one to get jealous, especially after endlessly reassuring Soobin that his friends’ flirtatious ways mean no harm, but something about seeing Soobin sandwiched between the two young men makes Yeonjun's stomach flip in a way that he can’t recall feeling before.

He doesn’t actually believe they would try to steal his boyfriend, that’s crazy, but….

… seeing Wooyoung laugh animatedly with his hands draped over Soobin’s shoulders… San’s front pressed against Soobin’s back with a tight grip on his waist… Soobin just dancing and smiling along with them, his own hands on Wooyoung’s hips…

… Nuh-uh. This won’t do.

Yeonjun reminds himself that he’s happy Soobin is bonding with his friends, he is, he swears he is… though it’d be a little easier to remember that if he didn’t know just how much his friends liked to test the boundaries of skinship. Having been on the receiving end of many butt grabs and sloppy, drunken makeout sessions. He knows they’re harmless, but he can’t help the growing dread in his stomach at the thought of someone else touching Soobin.

He can hear Yeosang laughing under his breath as he pushes himself off the wall and heads straight towards the dance floor. He ignores the invitations to dance and swiftly maneuvers through the throng of people to get to his boyfriend. “Sorry gentlemen, but I’m gonna have to request my boyfriend's presence. He’s needed elsewhere.”

San is quick to let go but Wooyoung whines, putting up a half hearted fight. “Yah! Yeonjun-ah you’re no fun! We finally get Soobin to dance with us and you take him away.”

Yeonjun takes Soobin’s hand in his and gently pulls him towards him, immediately wrapping his other arm around his waist and bringing him in as close as he can. “Sorry guys, we have some business to attend to.”

Yeonjun doesn’t wait for either of them to answer, just leads a giggling Soobin away. “Oh? What’s this? Jealous?

Yeonjun shrugs, keeping Soobin close as they walk through the crowd. “Pfft. Jealous, what? Not at all, i don’t get jealous. I just missed you that’s all.”

“Mhmm, sure.” Soobin laughs, not believing Yeonjun’s words for a second. “I thought you’d like seeing me dance with your friends.”

His grip on the younger tightens. “That was before Wooyoung was eyeing you up and down. And San has a thing for touching our friends’ butts, you know. I love him but no way I’m letting him near yours. That’s mine.”

“You’re hot when you're possessive, hyung.”

He smirks. “I know.”

“Where are we going?”

“Just… somewhere.” Yeonjun has no clue where he’s going. They can’t leave the party yet, but he also doesn’t want Soobin to think he brought him here just to keep him secluded away upstairs, even if that’s exactly what Yeonjun wants to do.

He settles on a wall near the hallway to the bedrooms. It offers some semblance of privacy while still being close enough to the bustle of the party. “Let’s just stay here.”

Soobin looks around. “And what exactly do we do here?”

“Well,” Yeonjun sits on the couch's armrest, pulling Soobin forward by his hand to stand between his legs. “We could talk. Dance a little. Admire one another. Make out. Any of those sound interesting?”

Soobin pretends to think it over. “Hmm, one of those doesn’t sound too bad.”

He wraps his arms around Soobin’s waist and pulls him as close as this position will allow. He doesn’t know who starts the kiss, all he knows is that it’s passionate from the get go.

Yeonjun can’t remember the last time he felt this infatuated with someone. Not even his last relationship that spanned two years had left him feeling as breathless as Soobin did with a few simple kisses. He happily swallows all the noises Soobin makes, including the giggle that rises from his throat when Yeonjun cops a quick butt grab.

They should dance. They should really rejoin the party. They should be out there having fun with their friends but…

…Fuck it. He wants Soobin all to himself.

“Wanna go upstairs?” Yeonjun pants out between kisses. Soobin nods frantically and Yeonjun grabs his hand, hastily pulling him towards the staircase.

Yeonjun has been in Wooyoung's house enough times that it’s easy for him to navigate the dimly lit halls. He reaches an empty guest room and pulls his boyfriend in. He tosses his bag as gently as possible to the side and takes off his jacket. Soobin has already taken off his own shoes and is whining at the loss of contact. Yeonjun hurries himself, not knowing what his kicked shoe has knocked over. Whatever. Didn’t sound that breakable anyway. He wraps his arms around Soobin’s pretty little waist and leads him towards the bed.

He eases Soobin onto the bed and places himself between his legs, eager to continue kissing him. Soobin is moaning into his mouth, his fingers harsh in Yeonjun’s hair. Yeonjun takes this as a very good sign. Despite Soobin’s protests, he disconnects their mouths and begins to gently nip at Soobin's soft skin. Yeonjun loves the sounds he elicits from his boyfriend. Yeonjun loves him.

Suddenly he felt Soobin still beneath him. “Um. Hyung?”

Yeonjun stops and looks up from where he was busy marking him. “Yes, bun?”

He hesitates. “It’s okay if we don’t have sex, right?”

Yeonjun gives him a quick peck. “Of course, bun. Besides, as much as I want you right now,” He bites Soobin’s shoulder and the younger man sputters out a moan, “knowing Wooyoung, if we start going at it his spidey sense will go off, he’ll say this is his home and insist on watching.”

Soobin laughs aloud. God, Yeonjun could listen to that sound forever. “He is a bit of a pervert, isn't he? I remember when he begged Hongjoong-hyung to watch Seonghwa-hyung su-”

Yeonjun feigns disgust. “Ugh, don’t remind me.” He laughs at the memory. “Wooyoung had his hyungs traumatized by his perversions.”

They laugh for a while before going back to their making out and heavy petting, no longer caring for the party going on downstairs. When they part after what simultaneously feels like forever and not enough time, they’re both flushed with swollen lips, wrapped in each other’s embrace. Yeonjun plays with Soobin’s bottom lip, pulling it down softly and releasing it to hear that satisfying pop sound, causing Soobin to giggle. It’s only when Soobin begins to yawn that Yeonjun realizes the time. It’s past two in the morning. Yeonjun begins to notice a shift in Soobin’s expression. He knows that look all too well.

“Hold on, baby,” Yeonjun bounds up from the bed, leaving a pouty Soobin behind. He searches for his bag in the dark. “I brought you something… Ah, here it is!”

He grabs his bag, makes a quick detour to check if the door is properly locked, then rushes back to Soobin. Much to Soobin’s displeasure, his boyfriend does not immediately crawl back into bed with him. Yeonjun sits on the edge and carefully digs through his bag, a little aha leaving his lips when he finds what he’s searching for.

One pristine green apple.

Soobin just stares in astonishment. “I thought you brought a bottle and homework?”

Yeonjun sets the bag down gently on the carpet. “Oh that’s in there too, don’t worry.”

Soobin stifles a laugh. “You brought my apple with you?”

“Mhmm.” Yeonjun looks very pleased with himself.

Soobin looks at him incredulously. He can’t believe it. “To Wooyoung’s party?”

“He didn’t have any the last two times we came and stayed over,” Yeonjun states matter of factly. “And I couldn’t trust him to remember them with how busy he is with school. So I just brought one to make sure you had it if you needed it.”

Soobin smiles at his boyfriend. His sweet, adorable boyfriend. “Oh hyungie.” He sits up and pulls his boyfriend in for a hug by his shirt. “You didn’t have to. I would’ve been fine for a night without it.”

“I know, baby.” Yeonjun slides his unoccupied hand up and down Soobin’s side, making the boy shiver. “I just wanted to make sure. Always wanna make you happy.” Yeonjun noses at Soobin’s neck.

Soobin giggles at the sensation. “You spoil me too much.”

Yeonjun laughs and moves to lean back on the bed's headboard, tugging Soobin along with him and snuggling him into his side. “Guess you could say you’re the apple of my eye.”

“Hyung, that’s disgusting.” Soobin teases but nonetheless takes the apple from Yeonjun’s outstretched hand and allows himself to be coddled. Soobin eats the apple his boyfriend has so graciously provided for him in silence, wrapped up tight in Yeonjun’s arms.

Yeonjun busies himself playing with Soobin’s soft, dark hair. He wants nothing more than to stay like this forever. This must be what his parents meant when they talked about love. This feeling he gets in his chest just by being around Soobin. The sense of bliss that washes over him from simply seeing the younger boy happy.

He closes his eyes and listens to his cute bunny softly chew his apple. The boy peels himself away for no more than a couple of seconds to toss his scraps into the waste bin, but Yeonjun swears those seconds feel like an eternity. He sighs when the boy crawls back into his arms, snuggling close. Yeonjun kisses the top of his head. His forehead. His cheek. His nose. Next thing he knows Soobin is straddling him and they’re once again full on making out.

They definitely had no intention of going back down to the party, just wanting to enjoy this time together. Wooyoung could be whiny about it later. Right now all that mattered to Yeonjun was Soobin.

Yeonjun is just starting to slip his fingertips underneath Soobin’s shirt when the boy gently pulls back from him, a thin string of saliva connecting them.

“What’s wrong, baby? Wanna stop?” Yeonjun immediately asks, concerned at Soobin’s hesitation.

Soobin shakes his head. “No.” He gasps out. “Want more.” He places his hands on Yeonjun’s hip bones and presses him down into the bed roughly, all the while latching his mouth onto the older boy's jaw. Yeonjun moans underneath him and moves his hands to be on either side of his head, knowing full well that Soobin enjoyed having a little more control in these situations. He can feel Soobin thumbing at the waistband of his jeans.

Oh.

So that’s what Soobin wanted to do.

“You locked the door right?”

Yeonjun hums in response. He groans and tries his best to keep still as Soobin presses his lips harshly down his neck, over his collarbones until he’s nipping at the collar of his shirt. He can feel just as much as he hears Soobin lips mumbling into his skin, “you’ve been such a great boyfriend, hyungie.” He pushes Yeonjun’s shirt up with one hand, exposing his midriff. “I should really thank you…” Soobin cups Yeonjun through his pants with his other hand. “Properly.”

He moans and fights the urge to buck up into Soobin’s big hand. He already feels out of breath. “Baby, you- ugh, you don’t have to do that.”

“I want to.”

“Okay but only if you really want to.” Yeonjun rattles off quickly. “I told you, I don’t do these things just cause I want you to blow me. Don’t get me wrong, I love when you do, but I just- oh, right there. I do it because I really really really like you.” I love you. He lifts Soobin’s face by his chin so that their gazes meet. Yeonjun knows he’s rambling, but he needs to make sure Soobin knows. “Hey. You know that right?”

Soobin doesn’t look like he enjoys being interrupted from kissing down Yeonjun’s belly but laughs sweetly at Yeonjun’s ever constant need for confirmation. “Yes, hyungie, I know. You tell me everyday.” He giggles and lifts himself up closer to Yeonjun’s face, brushing their noses together softly. “I really really really like you too.”

Soobin gives him a soft peck before making his way back down Yeonjun’s body. He giggles when Yeonjun lips subconsciously try to follow him. Yeonjun pouts in protest. “I thought you were tired.”

“Just got my second second wind, I guess.” Soobin smirks up at him.

Yeonjun closes his eyes and tries to relax, trying to just focus on how good he feels. He loves it when Soobin gives him attention like this, but he can’t help this little nagging voice in the back of his mind.

“Okay, just,” Yeonjun groans. “One last thing?”

Soobin hums in response. He’s peppering kisses over Yeonjun’s abs as his fingers continue to tease at the waistband of his pants.

Yeonjun groans again. Soobin is gonna hate him but he’s gotta say it, for his own safety and peace of mind.

“Please, just- try not to bite it off this time, will you?”

It was almost comedic, as if someone had scratched the imaginary record to a halt, effectively killing the mood.

Soobin stops in his tracks and leans back to give his boyfriend an annoyed look. “Aish. That was one time! I said I was sorry.”

“It was twice.” Yeonjun mutters as a grumbling Soobin goes back to mouthing down his body. “I love you, baby, I do, I really do, and your cute apple habit, but it makes it hard to trust four am sexual endeavors again. And not hard in the way I’d like.”

Soobin huffs, trying to hide his blush from hearing those three words Yeonjun has said for the first time, seemingly unknowingly. “That’s what you get for trying to be cute and switch to green apple scented products. I told you I like your orangey scent.”

Yeonjun chuckles. “Well that’s because I’m trying to become the apple of your eye.”

“Hyungie, would you please be quiet and let me take your pants off?”

“Okay.”

He doesn’t know what time it is when he begins to stir awake, blinded by the light filtering in through the window. He can feel Soobin lazily kissing, if you can even call sleepily pressing lips on skin kissing, his neck and jaw the way Yeonjun likes. He likes him so much. I love him. He squeezes his arms tighter around the boy, alerting him of his consciousness.

“Hyung?”

“Hmm?”

Silence and then…

… “So you love me, huh?”

More silence.

A raging blush begins to creep over his skin, skin that he can feel Soobin smirking against as the younger boy giggles into his neck. Maybe if he keeps his eyes closed Soobin will pretend he’s not awake and Yeonjun won’t have to face the fact that he told Soobin he loves him in the way that he did. Soobin nuzzles his nose into Yeonjun’s cheek and whines. He gently coaxes Yeonjun to face him and proceeds to kiss his eyelids, silently prompting him to open them. When he finally does, his heart immediately constricts in his chest seeing the boy he loves smile at him so adoringly.

“It’s okay, hyung. I love you too.”

“So have you told him yet?”

Soobin flushes red. He was sitting on the couch watching the other partygoers dance when Wooyoung came to sit next to him. He wipes the few droplets he can feel dribbling down his chin thanks to the older boy startling him.

He had let it slip to Wooyoung at his last party that he was pretty sure he was in love with Yeonjun but didn’t have the nerve to say it just yet.

He peeks over to where Yeonjun is. He’s across the room, leaning against a wall talking with another one of his friends, Yeosang. He can feel the butterflies start to flutter in his tummy from just looking at the older boy. He sighs. “What if he doesn’t feel the same way?”

Wooyoung shoots him a disbelieving look. “Heol. Now you’re just fishing for validation. That boy adores you!”

“Yeah, but does he love me?”

Soobin has never been in a serious relationship before. Soobin has never been in love before. Maybe almost-three-months is too soon to feel love, he’s not quite sure. He’s never felt this way about anyone else, that much he knows for certain. He knows Yeonjun is whipped for him. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t known from the minute they met that Yeonjun looked at him with the universe in his eyes.

Yeonjun thought Soobin was special and Soobin wanted to prove him right.

No one’s ever looked at him the way Yeonjun had. And Soobin had to make sure that he was worthy of being looked at that way. He wanted to be special to Yeonjun. He wanted to be worthy of the kind of love Yeonjun talked about.

So he had done everything he thought a good boyfriend should do; communicated openly and honestly, tried his best to integrate himself into Yeonjun’s lifestyle and friend group, and of course showered him with cuddles and affection. Soobin wasn’t generally the affectionate type, but it was very apparent very quickly that Yeonjun was. And Soobin wanted to make Yeonjun happy. All in all Soobin found that he actually quite enjoyed the change of pace. He was definitely more introverted than the majority of Yeonjun’s friends but just like Yeonjun, they made it easy to like them and Soobin discovered that he really liked attending Wooyoung’s parties and spending time with his boyfriend and his friends. Not that he’d admit that to Yeonjun just yet. It was too cute seeing the older boy offer to stay home so they could watch movies and cuddle together.

“Soobin-ah.” Wooyoung grabs Soobin’s shoulders, shaking him out of his thoughts and moving him until his focus is on him. He can feel a pep talk coming. “Trust me. I’ve known Yeonjun for a long time. Sure, he’s an absolute romantic, loves love in itself, but he would never bullshit it. He wouldn’t do all the things he does if he didn’t love you. Hell, knowing him he’s probably obsessing about how he’s gonna confess as we speak!”

Soobin can feel a smile tugging at his lips at Wooyoung’s words. He already suspects his boyfriends feelings, but he won’t deny that it feels really good hearing it from someone else.

“You really think so?”

“I know so.” Wooyoung gives him a soft smile. “And on the off chance that he rejects you, I know a couple of cool guys who wouldn’t mind a plus one.”

“Hyung, I’m flattered but I already told you and Sannie-hyung that I’m not interested.”

“Just putting it out there.”

“Please put it back, hyung.”

Wooyoung laughs obnoxiously loud and Soobin can’t help but laugh along with him. He learned very quickly that it’s hard to not go along with Wooyoung’s contagious and bubbly personality.

Maybe there’s a method to Wooyoung’s madness. If Yeonjun loved him, he would want him to tell him. So it only makes sense that Soobin should give Yeonjun the same courtesy and let Yeonjun know how he feels.

Warmth floods Soobin’s system at the revelation. He loves Yeonjun. He loves Yeonjun. And he wants Yeonjun to know it.

Soobin can’t help the smile that spreads over his face. “Okay. So then what do I do now? Just whisk him away upstairs?”

Wooyoung gives him a haughty smile. “Oh no, honey. He’s gonna come to you. First, we’re gonna take this off.” He helps Soobin out of Yeonjun’s leather jacket and tosses it on a nearby couch. He takes Soobin’s hand and tugs him towards the dance floor, picking up San along the way. “San-ah, my love, we’re gonna need your assistance.”

Notes:

If you made it this far thank you so much! I was really proud of “An Apple A Day” and wanted to write a little sequel to explore established Yeonbin. I think this came out pretty well, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to come out of it.

If I’m being honest, the path that this piece took is ALL because of the line “Please, just, try to not bite it off this time?” 😂

Feedback is appreciated, hope you enjoyed reading as much as I loved writing this!
