Work Text:
Harry and Peter were back at the Osborn Penthouse studying for the dreadful Physics test. Peter knew he was already going to ace the test, but he wasn't so sure about Harry.
Harry was fiddling with the pencil looking progressively frustrated staring down at the questions.
"You can ask me for help if you're struggling," Peter said, Harry looked up and scrunched his face sighing.
"It's not that Peter." Harry continued, resting his hand on his head looking back at the questions. "Did you notice how different my Dad's been acting? It's like he's a completely different person."
Peter already knew that, it was a shocker to him that Norman has changed his ways for good. After his encounter with the Frightful Four, he couldn't be more skeptical about it but relieved at the same time. Maybe because the idea of Norman going around and flying in an "Iron Patriot" suit, reminded him of the Green Goblin flying around with his glider.
'Eek!' Peter thought to himself. It is scary to think that his best friend's dad was once a gigantic huge green monster flying around throwing pumpkin bombs at random people. And now he's trying to be a vigilante? Peter shook off the thought and replied;
"I mean that's a good thing right?" Peter smiled and Harry laughed it off too. At that moment, Norman walked in from the elevator with his coat and suitcase in hand to greet the two of them.
"I see you two studying, for the Physics test," Norman commented smiling back fondly at his son. Peter shrugged it off and replied.
"Yes Mr. Osborn, I'm also tutoring Harry for some of his other classes." And then Norman frowned a bit and stared down.
"Harry, I didn't know you needed extra help with your other classes," Norman replied, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you so much for helping my son Peter, is there any way I can repay you?" Peter immediately shook his head.
"No, it's fine Mr. Osborn!" Peter replied smiling back at Harry hiding his face from the embarrassment. Norman nodded and signaled that he was going upstairs.
"If you two need anything, don't hesitate to call me." And Norman walked into his Work Office shutting the door, and immediately Harry looked back at Peter in shock.
"See! What did I tell you? He never asked me how I was doing in school!" And the both of them laughed continuing back with the homework. In about a few minutes, a loud crashing sound came from the work office.
Harry jumped and immediately started rushing to the staircase. "Dad!" Harry called out, and Peter immediately started following Harry to the room and by then the work office door was broken.
The both of them witnessed Norman on the ground, edging to stand up and Doc Ock of all people decked out in a new sort of armor. There was a large part of the armor that was covering his face. From the outside, you could only see the large glowing red eyes.
"Dad are you okay?" Harry asked trying to get him to stand up. Norman immediately pushed him away, wiping the blood off his nose with the sleeves of his suit.
"Harry get out of here now!" Norman commanded and Peter quickly grabbed Harry's arm doing what Norman said, dragging Harry to the elevator. Harry was shocked by how strong Peter was, that was strange...?
"Let go! Peter my dad is still up there!" Harry yelled, finally getting Peter to loosen his grip on him.
"I know! But he can handle himself you can't!" Peter almost let the secret out about Norman slip but he caught himself right in time.
"What are you talking about? He's not spiderman!" Harry pushed him and ran back upstairs. Peter groaned, why was Harry like this?
-
Norman looked back at Otto, the armor covering his face finally lifted, as the tentacles surrounded him. Doc Ock's scientific abilities were not something to gawk at. He grinned looking back at Otto impressed.
"What is it this time Octavius? Here to try to kill me again? Isn't this like the fifth time you tried?" Norman quipped at, Otto's grin grew wider and replied; covering his face once more.
"Even better." Immediately trying to hit Norman with the mechanical arm. Norman was able to dodge a close hit and got up running. He looked back at his wrist, getting the armor to work.
'Come on, hurry up!' Norman began tapping on it, as Otto followed suit, his tentacles starting to get closer, using the walls and gripping them to pull him nearer to Norman. The walls of the Penthouse started collapsing from the inside and it slowed down Otto a bit enough for Norman to get close to the Safe Room.
"Dad!" Norman heard his son call out, even more, frustrated with how his son blatantly ignored what he said. Harry and Peter caught up to Norman who was now quickly trying to open up the Safe Room glaring at the both of them.
"Didn't I tell you two to leave while you still can! Why are you two still here?" Norman exclaimed, finally being able to open up the doors.
"I told him, Mr. Osborn! He wouldn't budge!" Peter replied looking back at Harry. Norman rolled his eyes.
"Just get inside, I'll take care of this." Norman quickly pushed the two in alongside himself into the room. Pieces of the Iron Patriot Armor started flying onto Norman suiting up. Harry was in shock, looking back at Peter then back at his Dad watching him suit up in the armor.
"Dad what the-" Harry asked it wasn't long before the doors of the safe room began to close, only for one of the tentacles slipping by, and ripping the doors right off.
"Now is not the time Harry! You and Peter should get out of here now!" Norman said as the helmet closed on him, blasting right at Doc Ock. It only seemed to do just a bit of damage because afterward, he was able to withstand the force of the blast.
Harry shook his head taking cover behind his dad, Peter somehow managed to slip by and immediately started to suit up to join the fight.
"I'm not leaving. Not again after what happened to you." Harry said standing firm he watched as Otto cackled from his suit.
"That's so sweet of your son Osborn," Otto replied as one of the mechanical arms sneaked behind and grabbed Harry from his side. Harry screamed out watching him struggle was so hard to watch it hurt.
"Okay, now you've pissed me off Octavius!" Norman replied going at full force on Otto crashing him into the other side of the room. The impact made Otto let go of Harry, sending him crashing into the living room. Making Norman see red, he started to beat the living shit out of Otto. Watching the part of the armor covering his face crack.
Spiderman was quick to arrive and saw Harry lying there knocked out cold he checked to see if he was still breathing, and thank god he was. Spiderman saw that Norman was getting the upper hand and called out for him.
"Osborn! Your son!" Spiderman called out, carrying Harry on his back. Norman looked away for a second to face Spiderman.
"Spiderman! Thank god you're here! Get my son out of here please!" Norman exclaimed it sounded like he was about to cry. Once Norman was distracted Otto's mechanical arm grabbed on latching to one of the pieces of the suit and started ripping it off.
"No Problem Osborn! I'll come back immediately!" Spiderman quickly left began carrying him down to Oscorp towers. Norman was relieved but he was losing. Norman started blasting back at him using the only part of his blasters only for Otto to completely overpower him.
"Why are you doing this Octavius..." Norman replied, he could feel the suit begin to power down while Otto was still effortlessly dodging every attack Norman was throwing at him.
"You took my life from me!" Otto replied finally being able to get a hit at Norman with the actuators slamming him to the wall. In a last-ditch effort, Norman tried to bring his hand up to blast at Otto's armor only for Otto to use his Mechanical arms to restrain Norman in place.
Otto quickly restraint his hand pulling up his armor to reveal his face. He smiled looking at Norman so helplessly.
Otto quickly pulled out the Iron Patriot mask and laughed at Norman's face helplessly looking down at him. He looked like he was crying under there and Otto couldn't help but finally smile. That was it, that's how you break Norman Osborn.
"Just finish the job, Otto. Just kill me." Norman replied defeated as his head hung low. Otto cackled and shook his head, taking off his armor to face him smiling. It was clear to Norman the real reason he was there.
"That wouldn't be as fun Norman." Otto retrieved some of the Goblin serum from his armor.
Norman's eyes widened to see that Otto still had the Green Goblin serum. Otto waved the Green Goblin serum in front of Norman's face teasing him. Norman could only flinch, trying to get his face away from the needle as far as possible.
"No... No, I've changed Otto! You can't do this to me!" Norman cried out. Otto could only grin with the response.
"Changed? When did you ever change! Deep down you're still a monster." Otto immediately ripped off the armor on Norman.
"You've still enslaved me, and you still treated me like a pet. And that will never change." Otto replied looking at the teary eyes Norman look back at him in shame.
"I'm so sorry Otto..." Norman could only get out, as Otto immediately stabbed Norman with the serum causing him to groan. He dropped Norman down fleeing by breaking the living room window.
Otto looked back at Norman who was now groaning and rolling around in his misery. The transformation was in the process and no one could stop it.
"I'll be back for you Norman." Otto smiled as Spiderman finally got there and watched as Otto fled the scene not looking back. Spiderman tried to catch Otto but to no avail, only leaving Norman back on the side.
"Oh my god, Norman." Peter shook his head trying to see if Norman was in the process of turning back into the Green Goblin. Peter knew he should have come up with a permanent anti-goblin serum.
"Norman! Are you still in there?" Peter asked. He noticed that Norman's skin began to become green and the monstrous form of the Green Goblin started to take place. Peter definitely did not want to be in the way of Norman when he does become the Goblin. Norman groaned trying to fight off the Goblin.
"Keep Harry safe for me please! Go before I-" and before he could continue the Goblin roared back at him. Peter immediately thwipped back outside from the living room. There were only two things on Peter's mind, one the fact that the Green Goblin was back and two Doc Ock caused it.
How was Peter going to break the news to Harry that his dad once again became a monstrous flying Goblin? He didn't know. How would Fury react to Peter telling him the Green Goblin was back and that Doc Ock did it AGAIN? He would have feared for his life. Peter sighed, as he turned back to see the Green Goblin on top of the Oscorp tower roar.
This was going to be a headache for sure.
